Congratulations. I'm sure our Australia based brothers and sisters will assist in a good way. Go ahead and begin the real Nigerian dream. Question: How long did IOM take to get you the tickets? lalaazo: |

Where have all the grants gone? What is DIBP doing to my Nigerian brothers and sisters? |

Congratulations mate. That's a long wait and I'm so prayerful that mine won't be as long. It's the wait that kills you. Good luck and God speed. Your testimony has opened the floodgate of grants in Jesus name. lalaazo: |

Congratulations, I'm very happy you never accepted the rejection or failure. I've learned it takes tenacity to win Australian PR. Indeed it's a massive trophy. My story although not as heartbreaking as yours is similar. I will use your experience to encourage others. Going to Australia is tricky and expensive but i am certain the prize is worth the pain and cost. I celebrate with you and look forward to your final joy with a direct grant this year. Let's move our lives and our families to a better future. Phlunter01: 2 Likes |

That's insanely expensive. Better raise those funds bro. Get the Visa and go alone. Your family can come before the IED. Alphadoor: |

Hi, sorry for the late response. I was just absolutely determined to leave Naija. I prepared for IELTS like my life depended on it and of course it did. Regarding the reassessment, I simply wrote reference letters detailing all my duties and achievements while explaining that although my employment letter states a banking grade, my duties were specific to Graphic Design. The reference letters were signed by my ex supervisors and division heads. I also attached a portfolio created specifically for Vetassess. Then I added an overdose of prayers without fasting. I pray better when I'm not dizzy. spyroxy1: 4 Likes |

Thanks a lot. This information is priceless. But do I have to do anything specifically like get a doctor's report or clearance certificate? Leaving by November will actually be perfect. firsttymum: 1 Like |

Good morning, I'm the moderator of a small WhatsApp group (LEAVING FOR GOOD). We are just a group of 11 friends on the process, one is in Sydney as of May this year, one has already lodged and awaiting direct grant, I have received and ITA and other are in the process of assessment. Most of us are moving to NSW and Victoria. If you want to use that platform then you can PM me but there is no greater source of TRUTHFUL information than this thread by @bellong. Misoke: |

Sorry peeps. None of us have done medicals yet. Lodgement deadline is next month but i honestly don't want to put the visa on hold. I've been too eager to leave for years now. Any self-made delay will just drive me koko. I've been praying to exit by Sept/October latest. I'd rather not delay as long as funds aren't a challenge. SegunWamiri: |

Hi, i also worked with a few banks and prior to getting a positive assessment, I submitted an affidavit, a letter of reference from my supervisors detailing my duties. I also submitted all my employment documents as well as JD. I will advise you PM me or send me your email. I can share my letters with you. Vetassess will mark you down for working in a bank but theres a way around this. wisemen045: 1 Like |

Hi guys, I'm doing PCC by Friday and going for medicals by next weekend. My wife will be 14 weeks pregnant by then. If I can lodge my 190 visa by 24th and front load all doc's, I'm hoping for direct grant in 4 - 6 weeks. My hope is that IOM can assist to book a ticket for 1st or 2nd week in October. I don't want to get trapped in Naija due to my wife's prenancy. Does anyone know what the maximum weeks of pregnancy we can be allowed to fly with Emirates or Qatar? Also how long does IOM take to get booked tickets? |

My opinion may not mean much but whatever anyone feels about work visas, i dont see the value in it. Why not exercise a bit of patience and go for permanent residency? Also, why not do it yorself and use forums like this to get wisdom? 2 years work vis without any social benefits whatsoever just isn't the best. In my opinion. kehinde1947: 1 Like |

Thank you very much. I started this process 11 months ago with my first IELTS so glory to the God of information and the goodness of this community. Regarding switching to Subclass 190, i think its easy. All that matters is you score at least 60 and look for the right state to nominate you. You'll change your EOI to Subclass 190. I am sure there are others with more information in this community. TEECANN: |

Hello, I had a similar issue and i graduated from OAU as well, although my 1st assessment was positive while my years were deducted. I believe the problem is with the way your JD was written, you need to apply for reassessment using a more detailed JD which is in line with the ANZCO requirements. People in the house please advise him. doyen06: |

Good morning @doyen06. I got a positive reassessment on May 31 and submitted my EOI for NSW Stream 2 (232411 Graphic Designer) on June 1 with 60 +5 points. How long do you imagine it could take to get an Invitation to apply and at what point can I do medicals and PCC? I heard there's a particular reference code that needs to be used to book Medicals and PCC. I would love to connect with you offline since we may hopefully soon be neighbours in a foreign land. doyen06: |

Yes, I do, the reasons are simple. 1. My bachelor degree although equal to an Australian standard was not considered highly relevant which is the main reason for the penalty in work experience. 2. I spent a large chunk om my career in Banking and due to the Bank grading system, my letters of employment showcased me as a "banker" instead of a "bank worker". Although my job descriptions were well stated, to Vetassess, this documentation was inconsistent. 3. To resolve the issue, I had to get direct references from my Division Heads stating my actual job duties and clarifying that all Bank staff regardless of core function are addressed in official communication as ABO, SBO, AM etc 4. At the end of the day I've paid in time and money for that mistake but at least now my mind is at rest. I still lost over 2.6 years in valid work experience but it was well worth it. Hello, Aussie Family. I've been following this thread for weeks and although my journey is still incomplete, only now am I confident enough to share my timeline. July 2015: Left Nigeria for the first time on a 2 day visit to Dubai and knew I, my family and my nation deserved a better life. Travelled again to the US in June 2016 and my decision to leave permanently became an obsession. After flirting with New Zealand, Australia became my ONLY logical choice. IELTS GENERAL: July 22, 2015 - (L6.5,W7,R7,S7) Skill Assessment for Graphic Designer lodged with Vetassess ($810AUD): Dec 13, 2016 Vetassess Positive Outcome: Feb 10, 2017 (but out of 8 years experience, I was only deemed skilled for 2.6 years) IELTS GENERAL: April 8, 2017 - (L8.5,W7,R7.5,S8) Vetassess Reassessment lodged ($450 AUD): April 20, 2017 Vetassess Reassessment Positive Outcome : May 31, 2017 (5.4 years which equals 10 points) EOI Submission Subclass 190 NSW Stream 2: June 1, 2017 (60 points plus 5 state nomination points) NSW Invitation to Apply Stream 2:? NSW Nomination:? DIBP Invitation to Apply:? Medicals and Police Report for me, wife and child:? VISA I90 Application:? GRANT:? DATE OF FIRST ENTRY: 2018? Now I am in a mode of per second prayer. 9 Likes 1 Share |
