The NOA 2 has the date the approval is valid for. You should get your fiance to email you a copy.

This is what she received via email and forwarded to me. I assume it's the NOA2. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If it is, I don't see any validity period on it o.

My advice for new K1 visa applicants:

Once your case is approved and is forwarded to the NVC (you have your NVC number) and then it is sent to the embassy. As soon as it shows READY on the CEAC website please SCHEDULE your appointment. Don't wait for any packet 3 or packet whatever.
Of course, email the embassy and ask for your packet but schedule your interview while you wait. You can pick a date far off but still within the validity period to give the consulate time to get ready for you but don't wait for their email before you schedule. With the way interview dates are hard to come by, if you wait, probability of available dates being outside the validity period will be high. This is to avoid stories that touch.

@Sharpman, Pardon my ignorance, but why do i need to wait for it to show READY?
Cant i just go ahead and pay the visa fee and schedule an interview date? Even do the medicals all in advance since i have the case number. Am I missing something? BTW, my status currently shows in TRANSIT....

No, its the same case number I'm referring to. You can now track your casefile with that casenumber on the ceac website. Once it's says READY, you can then email the embassy about your casefile, your name correction and ask for a go ahead to schedule interview.

You won't receive any email concerning NOA2. It is your fiance, not you, that filed the i129f petition.

I advice your fiance calls NVC after a week or so to confirm they've received your casefile. If tgey have, they will give her your casenumber. It should begin with the letters LGS... She should also provide your info and hers to them to update your casefile. The info include things like email address, phone number, date of birth, passport number. At this point, she can try to correct the mistake on your name. If they can't correct the name then it's the Embassy that would do it.

Correction can only be done at the Embassy after they've received your casefile. You guys will send them an email to effect the correction and attach your birth certificate along with passport datapage as evidence.

Secondly, my middle name was misspelt ( the last letter was omitted), is this a biggie? If it is, how do I go about rectifying it.
