Well.....i don't know of anyone (on Nairaland and even visajourney) that wrote what I wrote and was denied.

The person I remember was denied on Nairaland specifically selected 'I do not intend' and that was clearly the reason the fellow was denied.

Please should I check under immigrant visa or nonimmigrant visa?.. and if I can fill ds 160 with my phone or must be a computer?. I am really confuse now cuz I checked under immigrant visa and saw ready. Wondering since k1 is nonimmigrant visa. Another thing is that we got the letter from NVC just 17th this month saying they will forward petition to consulate embassy which may take several weeks. Idk

Hello everyone, so i got to the US yesterday afternoon, my POE was JFK and my time with the CBP was seamless. most connecting flights were cancelled, luckily for me, mine was not. Please elders in the house,how long until i can apply for my temporary SS card and what is the procedure? God bless you all and good luck to everyone else behind us.

USCIS have not mandated any WES evaluation. People can decide to include it but it's not mandatory. USCIS don't need WES to determine the authenticity of the Certificates. Theu already have eyes and ears in Nigeria....the US Embassy

Update on my US journey.

I went to the Social Security Administration to remove the restriction on my Social Security Card. The only document I showed them was my greencard. I also filled the SS5 form which is available within the SSA building. I got there by 8:45am. They attended to me exactly 9am and I left there at 9:05am. I'm told the New Card will get to me in 7 to 10 days time.

You don't pay any additional amount for the EAD. The $1225 for the AOS is all you need to pay. The EAD and AP is free when you file all 3 together.

Just file your Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status), Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) and Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document) together.

I have a question though. Please for those who interviewed January and early february and was approve how long did it take before you got your visa issued?

I have gotten my greencard guys. I give God all the praise. It took 8 months to get my greencard. I had thought it'll take more than a year going by the history of approvals for Dallas, Texas.

The documents I submitted for greencard application were: filled i485 form, certified marriage certificate, birth certificate, NPC Attestation of Birth, NOAs received for i129F, Fiancee Visa, Data Page of International Passport, i94, Marriage Pictures, Joint Bank Account, Life Insurance, Copy of DS3025, copy of immunization card, Evidence of Residence, my wife's evidence of US citizenship, my wife's tax returns, my wife's paystubs, my wife's W2s, my wife's employment letter, etc. I didn't get any RFEs.

Got the interview notice after 7 months. The interview notice is usually given a month before the scheduled date.. and my wife went for the interview. We went with a copy of all the documents we had submitted earlier. We also went with new pictures and new tax documents. The interview was very fast. We were even called in before the time. Was asked questions on dates. Was also asked on how we met. Was a very informal interview...lots of jokes and chats. He told us he will approve our petition. I got my greencard 6 days after.

Letter of intent to marry : Is the petitioner and the beneficiary meant to write the letter together or each of them meant to write it seperately. On nairaland some people are saying it should be written together, while in other forums or when I googled it, some people say it should be written separately. One from the beneficiary and one from the petitioner.

I beg which one am I suppose to do.

Pls advise it is urgent.

Are you an American? It's YOUR senator and it's YOU got her office involved or it was your American fiancee doing? Pretending to be an American if you are NOT, it's the biggest crime you can do to be banned forever.
The part of her not divorced until recently, sounds very bad and may be understood as a sham marriage. Inside US she could be separated and go to live with a man, the Immigration application needs to very correct and no dating or engagement before the divorce is final.

I got an letter from my senator Barbara Boxer. Because I got her office involved into the case.

New Delhi visa cheif emailed her office and said the same story that visa was refused and petition

was sent back to NVC. But addition to that they also said the visa was refused because "There were serveral

areas of concerns including that Ms.__________had first met the petitioner in 2008 when he had not yet divorced his first wife. So that make our relationship invalid".```


Shit!!! I saw this on visa journey. My petition was invalid from the start. I got her engaged on the 27TH of August 2018 and her divorce was final 21st of February 2019. Lol please don't make this mistakes guys!!! We are withdrawing our petition.
