select500: @folarinstr,
Yes, any Nigerian can apply for CR-1 and IR-1. Just make sure you meet all the requirements and follow the rules.
Cheers! I think Nigeria is still on the ban list for this visa category. |

sharpman1: Well.....i don't know of anyone (on Nairaland and even visajourney) that wrote what I wrote and was denied.
The person I remember was denied on Nairaland specifically selected 'I do not intend' and that was clearly the reason the fellow was denied. I remember we followed this sage advise for filling our form and all was good. TreasurePrince, leave it blank and fill out the supplemental part as advised. Wish you the best bro. |

emmarino: Please should I check under immigrant visa or nonimmigrant visa?.. and if I can fill ds 160 with my phone or must be a computer?. I am really confuse now cuz I checked under immigrant visa and saw ready. Wondering since k1 is nonimmigrant visa. Another thing is that we got the letter from NVC just 17th this month saying they will forward petition to consulate embassy which may take several weeks. Idk 1. Check under immigrant. 2. If it says ready, that means you can go ahead and schedule an interview. 3. You can fill the DS on your phone or PC. Which ever is convenient for you. I used a PC, it’s a matter of preference. 4. Yes, K1 is non immigrant but processed as immigrant at the consulate. Don’t let that bother you. You’re good to go. 5. Don’t worry about the several weeks, you can go ahead and schedule your interview. Not sure about available dates tho cos of this COVID-19 wahala. |

Attraction: Things are happening, didnt you do biometrics when you went for your K1 visa interview? Covid19 is changing a lot. If they needyour biometrics they can get it. Don’t think that’s accurate. They’re only using biometrics captured during the AOS process AFAIK. Only those that were captured before the lockdown are being waived the interview requirements. |

Laboutique: Just to clarify, that means you didn't go back to qlife to pick up medicals?
Just the sealed package and your passport? You will need to get Form DS-3025 (Vaccination sheet) from Q-Life to use for your adjustment of status application. So, if you haven't gotten that from them already, you need to get it. You will submit the sealed packet at the Port of Entry with CBP. The DS-3025 will be used for your AOS application subsequently. LegitBachelor: USCIS have not mandated any WES evaluation. People can decide to include it but it's not mandatory. USCIS don't need WES to determine the authenticity of the Certificates. Theu already have eyes and ears in Nigeria....the US Embassy Actually, according to the USCIS instructions for filling the I-944 form, evaluation of any foreign education should be included in the application..... Not WES specifically... Source: https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-944instr-pc.pdf?download=1

LegitBachelor: Update on my US journey.
I went to the Social Security Administration to remove the restriction on my Social Security Card. The only document I showed them was my greencard. I also filled the SS5 form which is available within the SSA building. I got there by 8:45am. They attended to me exactly 9am and I left there at 9:05am. I'm told the New Card will get to me in 7 to 10 days time. Thanks for the update Legit. These updates act as a guide to those of us behind you. Pls don’t stop... |

sharpman1: You don't pay any additional amount for the EAD. The $1225 for the AOS is all you need to pay. The EAD and AP is free when you file all 3 together.
Just file your Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status), Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) and Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document) together. This was insightful. Submitting my applications this coming Friday. If I hadn’t seen this, would have paid separately for all of them. Thanks Sharpie... Thanks Sukey for the thoughtful question... |

LegitBachelor: I have gotten my greencard guys. I give God all the praise. It took 8 months to get my greencard. I had thought it'll take more than a year going by the history of approvals for Dallas, Texas.
The documents I submitted for greencard application were: filled i485 form, certified marriage certificate, birth certificate, NPC Attestation of Birth, NOAs received for i129F, Fiancee Visa, Data Page of International Passport, i94, Marriage Pictures, Joint Bank Account, Life Insurance, Copy of DS3025, copy of immunization card, Evidence of Residence, my wife's evidence of US citizenship, my wife's tax returns, my wife's paystubs, my wife's W2s, my wife's employment letter, etc. I didn't get any RFEs.
Got the interview notice after 7 months. The interview notice is usually given a month before the scheduled date.. and my wife went for the interview. We went with a copy of all the documents we had submitted earlier. We also went with new pictures and new tax documents. The interview was very fast. We were even called in before the time. Was asked questions on dates. Was also asked on how we met. Was a very informal interview...lots of jokes and chats. He told us he will approve our petition. I got my greencard 6 days after. Congrats Legit.. |

LegitBachelor: Prove it. Take pictures of campaign posters in your area and post here. At least that'll prove you are currently in the States as you claim. Boss, that won’t prove anything for us jareh. He’ll probably just google up something. Even if he’s in America, you can tell he was not born there by how he constructs his grammar. He’s probably a sad and frustrated illegal or mediocre migrant who has a Nigerian migrant boss he says Yessir to everyday hence taking out his frustration in the travel forums of NL. Probably even opened his NL account to troll this forum... Best response Is to ignore him though... |

Okpueee: Letter of intent to marry : Is the petitioner and the beneficiary meant to write the letter together or each of them meant to write it seperately. On nairaland some people are saying it should be written together, while in other forums or when I googled it, some people say it should be written separately. One from the beneficiary and one from the petitioner.
I beg which one am I suppose to do.
Pls advise it is urgent. For my application, we wrote ours separately and had no issues at all... |

SmartKitty: Are you an American? It's YOUR senator and it's YOU got her office involved or it was your American fiancee doing? Pretending to be an American if you are NOT, it's the biggest crime you can do to be banned forever. The part of her not divorced until recently, sounds very bad and may be understood as a sham marriage. Inside US she could be separated and go to live with a man, the Immigration application needs to very correct and no dating or engagement before the divorce is final. Oga Mr. American with bad grammar, read the post and understand first jareh. He was quoting someone on VJ. |

frypuffpuff: ```ANOTHER NEWS,
I got an letter from my senator Barbara Boxer. Because I got her office involved into the case.
New Delhi visa cheif emailed her office and said the same story that visa was refused and petition
was sent back to NVC. But addition to that they also said the visa was refused because "There were serveral
areas of concerns including that Ms.__________had first met the petitioner in 2008 when he had not yet divorced his first wife. So that make our relationship invalid".```
Shit!!! I saw this on visa journey. My petition was invalid from the start. I got her engaged on the 27TH of August 2018 and her divorce was final 21st of February 2019. Lol please don't make this mistakes guys!!! We are withdrawing our petition. Shoot!!! Does this mean the petition was initiated before the divorce was finalized? Sorry for the setback bro. |

Questions asked: Who petitioned for you? Where does she live? How did you guys meet? Where did she stay during her last visit? Told him, my place for 3 week in Dec 2019. Were her parents ok with her staying with you? Have both your parents discussed the bride price?
He then gave me 2 papers (visa pickup instructions and IMBRA) and told me visa will be ready for pickup in 2 weeks. He also advised against getting married before entering the states as that would invalidate the visa.
@Dicsnemma, what number were you? Were u d guy in white?
