agabaI23: I thought they said NNPC will be importing most of the petrol that the independent marketers won't be much involved. If NNPC has the capacity, there won't be any problems.
On a lighter note, if you're contracted by the government for this solution, pay for consultancy... You are mouthed my brother.Pucc! This is for you. |
Politics › Re: OPINION: Any Suggestions How To Ensure Petrol Sells For 86.50 ?? by disloman(m): 6:45am On Jan 05, 2016 |
psucc: By removing subsidy govt has washed its hands off the importation, distribution and sales of petroleum products.
The implication is that the marketers are at liberty to sell at a margin enough to keep them in business.
So govt can't deregulate and at the sane time regulate. Sooner or later, it will dawn on us the meaning of such policy. Do you know that the permit to import fuel had be suspended by the govt? The marketers are not importing fuel. Please do research. |
Politics › Re: OPINION: Any Suggestions How To Ensure Petrol Sells For 86.50 ?? by disloman(m): 6:43am On Jan 05, 2016 |
psucc: You are actually deluded and had no idea on economic and trade relations. Worst still you are not current. Pls go back and make your research; FG had just last week okayed a sum of over N200b for payment as subsidy.
Government was using the subsidy to control the market. And without functional refineries, and the cartel importers had already formed, government had no powers to fix price.
Remember the Courts decision on Multi-Choice Vs a Lagos based Lawyer over the farmer's price increase on DSTV subscription charges? Can you give us the links to your claim? |
Politics › Re: OPINION: Any Suggestions How To Ensure Petrol Sells For 86.50 ?? by disloman(m): 6:40am On Jan 05, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista: Unfortunately, government can't regulate price in an open market. Market forces is to take care of that. I expect the price of fuel to be sold between N86 and N91 per litre (Depending on the marketer, competition and location). The most important is that subsidy is resting in peace.m. None of the markets is allowed to import fuel into the country. That responsibility fall to PPPRA.All factors were considered before they arrived to that price. The only issue we have is only with the independent/local marketers. Those are supplied by NNPC from the refineries.I see this issue settled in the next 2 weeks.I will advise people not to buy from those who inflate their prices.Go to those who sell tat the approved pump price.I know it might be hard to take but we too have to sacrifice too. |

hinwazaka: They should not comply to any strongarm TSA Tinubu manufactured ponzi scheme. The NASS is an independent branch of the government, not a division of the executive. We are not in a military regime. NOONE has to adjust to the executive's demands, just because the President is throwing a hissy fit. The smart thing the President could have done is to ask the house to vote on it, instead of going on national television to show he is nothing but a coward. This is what hatred and sentiment do to one's life. They fuc*ed up your life big time. What a waste of material. |

Must you people keep reasoning like a pigs?If you don't have any reasonable thing to offer, please remain silent.Do they generate any revenue?Who pay them their salaries and allowance? The money they will spend, who will get it out?The bank that is in charge of the country finances is under who?Any expenses they wanna incur,Can't they make it known to the Executive. This is why some people don't believe all these bullsh1ts on how independent the arms of government are. They can't be separated. |

IsraeliAIRFORCE: Point of correction there many systems of democratic government that can work for Nigeria. It must not be Federal system.
1. Regional governments worked and can still work. 2. Parliamentary system of government where prime minister becomes the head of government is still a good option. Parties can enter into coalition to form a majority government which can be disbanded when they can no longer fulfil their campaign promises to seek another mandate from the people. You are right to an extend but the system still not there?Won't work.We should go back to history if we want to truth. We have to work also on our orientation. |
Politics › Re: "Why NASS Won't Allow President Buhari Decide On TSA" - Speaker Yakubu Dogara by disloman(m): 11:08am On Jan 04, 2016 |
IsraeliAIRFORCE: Are you in support of constitutional democracy or entrenchment of dictatorial democracy?
Executive have no right to exercise a minute control over the oversight functions of the Legislature nor Judicial processes. The TSA manages Federation Accounts which involves the three tiers of government (Fed, States and LGAs) and on Fed side, it involves the three independent organs of government hence the need to clip any unforseen tendency of the executive (not necessarily Buhari) to use finance against Legislature and judiciary in terms of disbursment of funds.
Independence is the keyword. Institutions are needed to function outside the influence of one organ of government hence the point raised by the honorable speaker.
**NB: Sales of NASS assets involves income generation and unspent budget by the NASS is meant to be returned to Federation account Let the truth be told.Democracy won't work in Nigeria. It will take to a stage where we people will ask for the constitution to be suspended.USA got their system right before they started practising democracy. We are just fooling ourselves.Bet it,it will get there. |

IcecoldDon: So out of curiosity...what now happens to the 3.63b actually in the budget for cars. Does it get scrapped now...and if so why was it in the budget in the first case.
Does it mean Buhari doesn't go through all the budget allocations for the presidency??
He has to understand that his whole presidency is riding on this image as being squeaky clean and for the masses. The opposition will leave no stone unturned in destroying that...so I believe that critical policies like this should be double and triple checked by him to avoid such in the future. The #3.6B is meant for the foreign envoy.Do listen to the presidential chat again. No amount was budgeted for cars for the executive. |
