I love this Minister of Information. He has this sense of humility written all over him. Look at him in the train ride exchanging pleasantries with passengers.
We have never seen a minister as down to earth as himself in history. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

What is poor about the speech? The minister went to Ilorin and solicited the assistance of Northern leaders help fight security.
He urged community leaders to expose criminals in their midst. Instead of you to commend the Minister for telling his fellow Northerners the truth, you resort to abuse and silly comments.

I have asked repeatddly that the pdp goons should open posts with the specifics of their grievances for the different states where they occurred so we can discuss them....none of these weaklings have acted in response, but they love to whine and throw unecessary emotional tantrums. im not here to wipe tears....but i will fvck up a rebellious pdp dummy that comes here misbehaving

You are just a rabble rouser on a rambling cause, you are asking which goons to open up another thread?carefully trying to avoid the comparative analysis.Who's interested opening another thread to accommodate a dullard like u,that has nothing to offer other than curses.Abeg let me be joor,COWARD.

Ji_sun_pack: Fooooooooooooollllllllllll. Leave us alone!!!!!!!!

Fools wouldn't ever acknowledge their stupidity and shallow reasoning,so am not surprised. All truthful human beings in this country know that Tinubu is a pocket dictator,or what better words to explain a person who unilaterally draws up list of candidates for his political party, correct me if i am wrong.
Politics / Re: Colonial Attitude: ACN Governors Defend Tinubu by divatosin(f): 7:54am On Oct 05, 2012
It took so much time and enough guts from Anthony Enahoro to move a motion asking our British colonial masters to leave,so am not surprised the leaders of these colonies have come out in stout defence of their Master.Fools

Stop the vulgar name calling and use your senses. Im responding to an article in a post. If you want my view on the case in Osun and Ekiti then open a new post to discuss that.

To this particular discussion, you will agree that this tribunal overstepped boundary. Would you not?

Same way the tribunals in Edo and Ekiti voided some results and declared winners with their computed results.Stop being a hypocrite.

Akanbi_edu:

Imposition of Tinubu's wife --- nothing wrong with that, the people voted her
Did I not mention election rigging---you can't substantiate this
lack of internal party democracy---this is not non-ACN members business.
stealing ---unsubstantiated
bribery of Judges allegations ---allegations, thats what they are
deductions from Lagos state money to prosecute elections in Ekiti.---unsubstantiated

Are these your basis of saying ACN is the same as PDP? This is a very poor assessment IMO. You have your percieved bad side of ACN there, can you please list some good side of the ACN?

I am not angry ooooo. I am not a terrorist, you are the fundamentalist.

You are certainly mad, what do u know about violence in the south west during 2007 elections we all know how many thugs that where arrested in Osun state who confirmed upon interrogation that they were hired by 'Agberosola'.Is it not that round rimmed ethnic Demi god that legitimised area boys in boys in Lagos state,my friend if u don't have anything to say apart from betraying ur bias,I advice like Aribasala suggested u n Gbawe should get a hotel room to sort ur selves out.

I am non partisan and I believe with deep conviction that PDP is a better political party compared to the ACN and that the problems with this country are not cos of politcal parties. We would have been worse off having Tinubu as a national leader,I stand to be challenged.

Politics / Re: Jonathan Retains Ihejirika As Army Chief In Military Shake Up by divatosin(f): 11:31pm On Oct 04, 2012
The president has done his job and I think he has done noble, though according to my friend who commented,it has never been done that a Chief of Army staff is retained. But that decision on it's own is another pointer to the will power of Mr President,U DON'T CHANGE A WINNING!Ihejirika given the alien security challenge we've found ourselves in has been able to perform above board.

This is also a clear departure fom the past,GEJ has made greater percentage of his appointments and reshuffling without much fanfare, this news that has come as a surprise to most Nigerians would have in the past been an issue of intensive lobbying and newspaper/pedestrian speculation.

Congrats to the new service chiefs and i also doff my hat to Mr President for making another difference.
Politics / Re: 2015: Jonathan, PDP Will Fail In S-west – ACN by divatosin(f): 6:04pm On Oct 04, 2012
Thank God the south west is not Nigeria, let that tribal Demi god keep playing his tribal politics cos that's the only way he can thrive. There's the N/W,N/E,N/C,S/E,S/S,so for some people to harbour the delusion of believing the S/W will fail GEJ is seriously laughable.

Mr President's achievements so far in office will surely see him through come 2015 if he decides to contest.

ochukoccna:

While it is true that passed resolutions are not laws, the arrogance of the executive arm of government especially at the federal and state levels is nauseating
We need to learn more about [and implement] the separation of powers for the Executive in saner climes doesn't talk down on the Legislature nor shun court orders from the Judiciary for they are supposed to complement each other
Are we then saying there no valid superior viewpoints outside those expressed by the Executive? undecided undecided
Gani was right in positing we have civil rule but not democracy cool cool wink
Have you ever heard a British or American minister speak such nonsense about the resolutions which emanate from their parliament? angry angry
We seem to forget the parliament is representing the peoples of Nigeria
Are we then saying the people of Nigeria are yarning dust?
The current [as well as previous] national Assembly may be peopled by characters who are there for the money and not their peoples but this is the way [a supposed democracy] we are been governed in this season of life
We expect the best from our legislature and executives but they are denigrated daily by the way we speak & kick them about on NL, Facebook, online, in the newspapers etc
And we've been doing this for so long
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result embarassed embarassed
Should we not be thinking [and acting out] of forming advocacy & pressure groups;in short starting a movement for good governance in Nigeria devoid of ethnic and religious sentiment? sad sad
Unless you fail to see, it is apparent most of our 'wise elders' lack the will or know not what to do to fix the nation [assuming we truly have one]
The youth [if they are willing] are the ones who can save Nigeria
But all we do is come online and rail at those implementing our 'jeun jeun' democracy while their bank accounts swell& the nation's patrimony dwindles grin grin
Then we touch our behinds, see se-men then& wonder 'WHO PHUCKED US'? undecided undecided

Your point is noted but you clearly went off the mark.
The issue here is simple. Did Maku err in his statement where he stated that NASS resolutions do not have any legal effect and so not binding? No.
Did Maku eat his words? No.
Did Maku ever deny making the statements credited to him? No.
Did Maku apologise to the senate? Yes.
For what? For misinterpreting his clear position on a question posed to him by the press and painting the picture that he lacks regard for the NASS.
Does Maku disregard NASS? No.
So why apologise? To avoid any mischief makers who may latch on his statements to deepen the already existing executive/legislative faceoff

Politics / Re: Maku Apologises To Senate Over Statement by divatosin(f): 2:51pm On Sep 26, 2012
These senators are just a bunch of clowns. I wonder if David Mark passed secondary school Government at all.
Where on earth did they come about the idea that a resolution of parliament is binding?
It is elementary knowledge that it is only laws passed by the National Assembly that assume a force of law not resolutions.
A resolution is not enforceable. It's breach cannot even give rise to an action in court.
I'm shocked that they have used pressure to extract a cosmetic apology from Maku.
The minister of Information was damn right in his statement.

Good governance tour should be changed to fact finding tour since it is meant to verify projects on ground. I support Nanadi's view.
Politics / Re: National Good Governance Tour Abuja Town Hall Meeting. Exclusive!!! by divatosin(f): 11:09pm On Sep 25, 2012
I watched the event live on AIT.As a lady, I was particularly thrilled by the courage with which Nanadi asked her questions. She did not mince words in her criticisms of the government budget performance. The whole hall erupted in a thunderous applause for her. The chairperson of Abuja market women stole the show with her questions too. It was indeed interesting seeing such courage by women on National forums.

My biggest kudos goes to the Honourable Minister of Information for giving all the opportunity to speak their minds. There was a time in the meeting when the MC tried abridging people's questions but the Minister rose and called him to order. I saw democracy at work.
