Good evening... I need your advice. I teach a public school student creative writing in Osun. Some of her colleagues heard about it and decided to join. The only requirement was to write anything. So, one of them wrote her own personal experience: She had a ghastly accident that affected 6 of them but her case became the worst. She recorded the ordeal like a diary. And I guess it gave her the chance to really share some of her hidden fears and pains. In her latest updates, she said they needed about 3 million for her bones. I talked to their principal and she felt incapacitated. This woman had ensured the girl graduate without much exam, seeing that the accident happened on the first day of their third term exams. Although she still struggles to school per time, I'm wondering if there's a way I can be of help to her. Dominque Lalasticlalala Mynd44

I thank God for those that remember *Karma* and how its *K* can mean Knife (sword) of Justice... I thank God for the beauty of everyday. They almost look the same or is it that my eyes have stopped beholding their glow? I thank God for politicians and their escorts- both those in secret service and providing secret services. I trust that he'll, one day, open their eyes before their actions put them in the spotlight. I thank God for those hungry and can only be filled with gossips. I trust he might soon push them to the Headline, where people will talk about the "creases" of their heads. I thank God for those I owe. Your faces all look hard. Together, we'll attack my debtors...� Lastly, I thank God for creating us on the 6th day. That's why we love parties, concerts, and vigils. It reminds us that we're humans. But I will always choose my bed over those three... |

After her freedom from Britain, America ensured her variant of the language was entirely different from the European's. For some odd reason, Canada seems to emulate America and not Britain. Thus, their writing styles became different. But Australia, a continent (almost) out of the earth, chose British style. Despite this, there are over 100 dialects of English, including those of the natural speakers from Ireland and New Zealand, that are yet to conform to the two most revered dialects- AmrE and BrE. That's why a native British speaker will say "you've drank" instead of the standard "You've drunk" because of disparity. So, why can't our linguists decide to standardize Nigerian English to some extent. It's fluid and lovely. Like our pigin, it's more regional. Although it will take years to produce materials, teach students, write literatures etc, we can start the step. |
