Thank you for responding. Well noted.

It's ok. Go ahead. in Canada, DUAL INTENT is allowed.
Just ensure you're able to satisfy the requirements for each application.

All the best

Thank to you all for taking time to respond to the myriads of questionsI drop here.

Any thoughts on this question below?

Good morning Fam,

I have an express entry profile and I am about to submit an application for study visa. Could the express entry profile hamper my chances of having my study visa approved?

@Acupuncture, thank you for this thought provoking question. The impression I have is that you are allowed to travel with your family if you can show proof of ties back home for which imo, my spouse, job and property would suffice just like the UK process.

Since, I have not done this before, I needed to clarify before I start the application process. I dont know what guidelines the visa officer works with.

Akupuncture:
You're going for 1 year program and you're going with all your kids - 15,14,10 and 5. Assuming you're the visa officer, will you approve all these visa applications. Be sincere to your self.

Thank you @Technix. Can properties duly valuated in my name and spouse's alongside my job and mom be considered good home ties?
technix:
Hi @Divinefavrite

1. Yes, you can go with your kids. You need to show adequate funds and good home ties.

2. You can apply for study permits for all of them.

3. The US citizen doesn't need any visa application (except if you want to apply for a study permit for her). She can get a visitor record at the port of entry.

Can anyone knowledgeablein this matter please respond to my questions. Thank you.

Divinefavrite:
Hello House, I need clarification on something. I have actually asked earlier but got no response.

I got admission with Humber college for a 1 year PGC for January 2023 intake. My question:

1. Can I go with my kids (15,14,10 and 5); We have never been separated for more than 2 months at the most so not going with them will be tough. Is there a way around this.

2. If there is, what kind of application will I need to put in for them?

3. Please note that the 5 year old is a US Citizen. Will she need any form of visa application?

I will be waiting for your responses. Thank you.

Oh yes, I tried but they will not budge. The program is full and so unable to grant fee extension.

Thank you.

Bobomaigida:

Hi Divine, have you tried seeking an extension from the school? You can send them the Form A acknowledgement for them to know that the payment process has started.

Thank you @pat978

Pat978:

Ask your school if you can pay in instalments, so that even if you retrieve money through black market it won’t be as much cause you are paying half the fees, as for the form A, it really takes time cause they operate on a first come first serve basis, do it in advance for future payments.

I am stuck right there. Applied for form A with GTB but was made to understand that it will take a minimum of 8 weeks to get approved by which time the school fees deadline will be long past. I contacted Humber several days ago asking for extension of school fees deadline. They responded yesterday that my program is full and so they cannot extend deadline.

So right now, I suppose I am left with the black market option. Except otherwise if anyone has a better idea, I will love to hear it.

Fredba:

Have you paid tuition did you use form A or flywire for humber?

Good morning wonderful people in the House.
I recently got admission to Humber College for January 2023. I have 4 kids aged 15, 14, 10 and 5. The 15 year old just finished with waec and result is out. The 5 year old is a US citizen.
Can I put in an application for them as accompanying dependents when applying for my study visa. For the 15 year old, is it advisable to get in with her first before seeking for university admission for her or do I start admission processing for her now and then process her study visa separately.

Kindly advice.

Thank you.

olasubomy:

This is my view in response to your concerns:

1. This is not true. You are only allowed to work up to 20 hours per week as a student except on short breaks and school holidays. This work eligibility is tied to your study permit, meaning you can only work when you resume classes. Also, your Coop programme allows you to intern with an employer and gain Canadian work experience as a prerequisite to your degree. This internship programme lets you work up to 37.5 or 40 hours per week (full time).

2. I would say "one cap does not fit all", and it all depends. Your friend has a valid concern here but getting a job quickly after school depends on your effort, the God factor and luck. Sometimes, a network helps you get through the door for an interview. I have seen classmates that spent months after school without getting that desired job, and they had to fall back on menial jobs to earn some money and pay their rent, while I have also seen some get jobs quickly in energy companies and banks; it just depends. I would say it is 50/50 here for a one-year program. I advise that you aim at a province where your skillset sells the most. Ontario has a larger market but is a very diverse and competitive province and pricey too.

The two-year programme gives you more time to get a job and have that one-year Canadian experience to apply under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with a three years PGWP.

3. The Atlantic province's immigration pilot has a pathway to PR that does not require work experience (your friend is right here), although they stated at least two years of studies. Quoting the below directly from IRCC:

You do not need to meet the work experience requirements if you're an international graduate who
has a degree, diploma, certificate, or trade or apprenticeship certification that

o took at least two years of studies
o is from a recognized post-secondary institution in 1 of the 4 Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador)
o was a full-time student for the entire time you were studying
o lived in one of the following provinces for at least 16 months during the last two years before you graduated:
New Brunswick
Nova Scotia
Newfoundland and Labrador or
Prince Edward Island
o had the visa or permit you needed to work, study or get training while you were in Canada

source : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/atlantic-immigration/how-to-immigrate/eligibility.html

4. It does not mean getting a job quickly after a one-year programme is impossible. You might be lucky the company where you did your coop may still require your service after graduation.

I hope this helps you to weigh your options.

@olasubomy, e- hugs from me to you. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I might just go ahead with what I have already and trust God with the rest.

Good morning to all men and women of goodwill. Thank you all for your selfless service for God and Humanity.

I have a situation and I am here to seek advice.

I recently just got admission with humber college for January 2023 intake to study human resources management. Its a one year program that will run from January to september (classwork) and september to december (coop).

I have confirmed the admission and at the verge of paying the fees but a family friend is discouraging from following through with the admission reason being that:

1. I will not be allowed to work during my one year progam because IRCC does not give work permit on the study permit for one year programs

2. That the one year PGWP that I will be given at the end of my program is too short a time to get a job to enable me proceed with PR applications being that Ontario is very competitive

3. That provinces like new brunswick is better since you can start applying for PR after one year of study with or without a job offer.

4. Alternatively, I look for an 18 -24 months program (very expensive though) to enable me get a 3 years PGWP

I am confused and really would not want to miss out on this opportunity but would also not want to be stranded out there and there are almost no schools still open for January intake now.

Please I need advice.

Thank you

If you fail to provide updated information about the death of the person who's inviting you, you'll be withholding information material to your application. The consequences would be severe even if it was discovered after you visa is issued. Pls do send a webform to update the information.

Good day House. I have been reading through the pages of this thread and I must commend all the men and women of goodwill who diligently go out of their way to help others here in various ways. Thank you.

I have a situation and I am here to seek advice.

My husband and I applied for visitor visa via the new portal on June 10 with a letter of invitation from my husband's uncle and a letter of introduction from my work place. We did our biometrics on June 20 and have not received any other correspondence.

The situation is that my husband's uncle just passed on this Tuesday and we are at a loss for what to do and how it could affect our visa decision considering that we were to stay at his place during our visit.

I am wondering if I should raise a web form to report this new situation or just wait and see what happens next.

Please I need advice. Thank you.

Hello house good morning,in the spirit of giving back to this wonderful forum that has turned into my second home. I flew emirates from lagos to dallas(17th September to 19th September ) but had a 22hrs layover at dubai.the journey was long and entertainment was on point. I was well taken care of.the flight from dubai to dallas was fantastic, the airhostress blocked a full middle row seats for me so that I can sleep comfortable whenever I want.I was always being checked up by them and given what ever I demanded for. It was the favour of God.and maybe because am three in one.Got to dallas, did E -check in.a slip was printed out stating All my details including my type of visa. Now to the immigration officer
Officer: Hello madam
Me: with my tired face hi good morning
Officer :what's in your stomach
Me: babies. Na so two of us start to dey laugh seriously.
Officer : what do u have in your bag?
Me:food items and some cereals that I love eating.
Officer :do you have some money with you?
Me:yes few cash and dollar card.
Officer :ok thank you.and gave me back my passport, it wasn't stamped not just mine even a nija man that was coming to dallas to pick up his family that was attended to by another officer. Asked questions they said I was good to go. I was surprised, it got to a point I was asking myself if I really went through the right place.everything was so smooth, brief and easy. I just said it's God. He heard my prayers.no secondary inspection.
Next was to board a flight to Houston my final destination with American Airlines. Went for my appointment yesterday with Dr E oakbend. So relaxing now for my next appointment and scan to see my little babies and how they are doing.
Thanks to this great forum for all the wonderful informations I received here. God bless you all.

@cyzubby, congrats on your POE experience. I am also in houston using Dr. E of OakBend as well. If u don't mind, u can reach out to me let's get together or tell me how to reach you. I'm bored pleeeeease.

Hello people, good morning. I have been quietly following this forum since May this year when a friend introduced me . I have read, made notes , researched and finally it paid off.
I had my visa before I discovered this forum. In getting the visa, there was so much mix up but on getting here I discovered my mistake and decided to set my records straight as much as is possible.
After so much reading, research and calling several hospitals , I settled to give birth in houston. I am actually writing g this to thank God for His mercies which endures forever more and also to thank everyone who has given selflessly on this forum to enable newbies like me learn n live.
My POE experience at houston airport was less than five minutes.
Me:Good afternoon (with a smile that can melt the rocks)
CBP: Good afternoon, your passport please and why are you here
Me: vacation and childbirth (lots of people had told me not to mention that and hide it but after my visa mix up and everything i learnt here I chose to tell the truth as it is and let God have His way)
CBP: How long do u intend to stay
Me: six weeks becaues I need to get back to work
CBP : Place ur finger on the ..... and raise ur face for capturing
And that was it, gave me my passport and stamped B2 on it with date of entry. There was no until..... date so I checked the i94 website and Saw I was stamped in for six months.
No secondary inspection, no agricultural with all the foodstuffs I had and even ticked them on the form that was given on the plane
Flew airfrance at 36weeks +.
I just can't stop worshipping God. God bless u all. Will go for my appointment on monday by God's grace.
