Biafra tension: Ohaneze threatens to hold Osinbajo responsible if May 30 goes wrong
Nigeria News today & Breaking news ▷ Read Nigerian newspapers 24/7 / 8 minutes ago

- The May 30 sit-home exercise declared by pro-Biafra groups, is generating great buzz

- Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has said that there are plots by the government to disturb the exercise

- The OYC has said that it will hold the acting president responsible if any Igbo man is killed in the course of the protest

Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has said it will hold Acting President Yemi Osinbajo responsible should anything happen to pro-Biafra agitators as they protest on May 30.

There are fears over alleged plans by security operatives to open fire on the agitators who shall be observing a sit-at-home to mark the 50th year of Biafra declaration.

It is on this premise that the OYC has said that “Ndigbo shall hold Osinbajo responsible as the Acting President of Nigeria should anything happen to any of our youths".

OYC's assertion was made in a press statement made available to journalists, which was signed by the group's deputy national president and the national scribe, Dr. Arthur Obiora and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

“We shall not take lightly the spilling of the blood of any Igbo man today because these are non-violent agitators and their agitation is protected under every known law.

“As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo is very much aware of the constitutional rights of these agitators and he should therefore not allow himself to be used as an instrument to suppress lawful expression of opinion.

“He should, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria call all security agencies to order to ensure that they do not engage in mass murder.

"We have had enough of this mindless killing of our people and we are not going to take it again this time,” OYC said.

The group called on Igbo traders and workers to comply with the sit-at-home order of the pro-Biafra groups, stressing that “the international community is watching; so, if we can show unity as a people, if we can show solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu and Uchenna Madu, the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, respectively, the United Nations and other international organizations will not just accord us respect but help us in pushing for a referendum.”

The seat-at-home order for May 30 by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is gaining momentum as Maxi Okwu, a top Igbo elder, says he would take part in it.

Okwu, a former national chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), also thanked Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for speaking out the truth at a recent celebration in Abuja to mark the 50th anniversary of the Biafran war.

The Igbo elder further condemned the way former President Olusegun Obasanjo spoke at the event stressing that the retired military general is one of the major problems plaguing Nigeria.

According to him, Nigeria will never know peace until Obasanjo, whom he described as a member of the trioka of evil, leaves the country alone.

NAIJ.com reports that Okwu said he would observe the order by IPOB in celebration of the Biafra day.

“I dare the security agencies to come and beat me for observing in quiet contemplative prayers the memories of Biafran heroes,” he said.

“Love or hate Nnamdi Kanu the man is the issue of the moment. His house in Umuahia seems to have become the new Onuiyi haven of the late 70's,” he added.

Below is a NAIJ.com video in which Acting President Yemi Osinbajo delivers a speech on the Biafra war.

*Zero Marginalization
*Incessant killings from herdsmen
*stealing of State resources to feed lazy Aphonjaz
Even if we break up along geopolitical, ethnic, or religious lines, I assure you most solemnly, it won't change a thing because people won't change their behavior and corruption will still thrives. Besides, there will be other New challenges, issues and problems that will arise. The black race, Nigeria inclusive, is programmed in such a parochial way so as not to make meaningful progress because of our inbuilt retrogressive and backward thought processes.

The black race needs help and deliverance.

This type of attitude is the reason why laziness prevails in this country. Even when they see cow on the road, they will wait for the Federal Government to come and catch the cow for them while looking like lucozade, continue in your self defense
