Didn't you say Buhari will never be president?
kedeojo:
Take it to the bank, obi will never be president of Nigeria. He is a tribal and religious bigot. Northerners and south westerners will not support that kind of character. Event that happens in south east and he turn blind and couldn't condermed it. He is ipob supporter.

Well, all Nigerians built Lagos unless you're ready to pay 5/6 the value of the economy of Lagos to the other 5 zones
Jeje247:
This is invalid in today's Nigeria. It was the arrangement when Lagos was capital of Nigeria. Lagos will be replaced by Abuja if the proposal sails. Except Tinubu is trying to reverse absolutely everything including the Nation's capital and currency back to pounds.

PoliticsRe: Are Our Leaders Aloof Of The Current Suffering Of Nigerians?? by DMerciful(m): 6:53am On Jun 02, 2024
Who did you vote for? Lets start from here
gifted2020:
Are Our Leaders Aloof of What's Happening Currently in the Country?

Fellow Nigerians,

I come to you today with a heavy heart and a pressing question: Are our leaders truly aware of the suffering that the average Nigerian faces daily? It seems like those in power are turning a blind eye to our struggles, and their silence is deafening.

Let's talk about food prices. Have you been to the market recently? Basic items like rice, beans, and even garri have become luxuries for many families. Inflation is skyrocketing, making it increasingly difficult for us to afford basic necessities. How are we expected to survive when we can't put food on our tables?

Our farmers, the ones who provide our food, are not safe. Insecurity is rampant across the country, and our farmers live in constant fear. They can't go to their farms without the threat of being attacked. This insecurity is killing our food production. How can we feed ourselves if those who grow our food are scared for their lives?

The rising crime rates are a direct result of this desperation. Our youth, who should be the hope for our future, are increasingly turning to crime. This isn't a choice made out of desire, but out of a lack of opportunities and support. It's a cry for help from a generation that feels abandoned.

What about the electricity blackouts caused by energy tariffs that we can’t afford both at home and even across other sectors like the tertiary institutions? The increasing electricity tariff posing as a giant burden on both individuals and companies, forcing some to even to retrench workers in other to still be in business. Consequently adding to the population of already over bloated population of unemployed persons in Nigeria, and these job losses obviously adds to the risks in society as unemployed persons laid off from their jobs will definitely look for any means to survive, even if it means joining criminal gangs or engaging in activities prone to criminal involvement.

Furthermore, companies in Nigeria are leaving due to increasing taxes and unfavorable business policies, leading also to more job losses and difficult livelihoods for people. The increasing taxes on the average Nigerian are becoming a serious burden. We are even left questioning what the taxes and revenues are being used for, as we cannot see any actual palliatives to cushion the effect of the hardship on us.

We've heard of a minister allegedly diverting funds meant for the public and other cases of embezzlement by our leaders. Where is the hope for the common man when even the funds meant to help us are being stolen?

Now, where is our government in all of this? What are they doing? The grassroots, the everyday people, feel ignored. It seems like our leaders are more interested in their own comfort than in addressing the issues that matter most to us.

Our legislators, the ones we elected to represent us, where are they? What have they done to improve our lives? i understand that while some have empathy and are looking for ways to mitigate the suffering of their constituents, others seems not to be bothered until election approaches again for them. Can they honestly say that their constituents are happy and satisfied? We trusted them with our votes, believing they would make a difference. But has anything changed? We are still suffering, still struggling, and still waiting for the promises to be fulfilled.

Nigerians deserve better. We need leaders who listen to us, who understand our pain, and who act to make our lives better. It's time for our leaders to step up and take real, meaningful action. No more empty promises, no more ignoring the plight of the people. We need solutions, and we need them now.

Comrade Ebor Godsgift is my name and i am just a Concerned Nigerian who wants the best for us all.

Ibo should not be allowed to determine who will govern Nigeria because most of ur people are into the same drug business.

I believe it was not the intention of the UGM to take their lives because if they knew they were igbos they would have spared them.

Between 1967 - 1970 over 6 million Biafran children lost their lives in the war as a result of malnutrition because Nigeria blocked food from getting to those kids

This is the history/horror dey said we should all forget and move on. They infact went ahead to delete history in our study curriculum and nobody is asking question.

And I ask, if a nation doesn't know it's history How does it make progress in life?

when you don't know about your past errors in life, how do you prepare to avoid future ones?

The only history Nigerians knows today including it's elite began from 1960!

Ask a Nigerian politician today to narrate the events that took place in Nigeria between 1900 - 1945, he will score zero.

The other day, Putin sat with Tucker Carlson live on TV and gave the history of the origin of a tribe in Russia beginning 6000yrs ago from his head without looking at any book/material and gave justification why he is fighting for them.

Even the history of the world/those that lived before us were documented in the religious books so that we can read and learn in order to know how to live right and avoid calamities .

No wonder they woke up and passed a bill on the old national anthem claiming it's for unification.

May 30 every year was set aside to remember the horror that the entire world military joined forces together to execute in Biafraland but Nigeria sent their soldiers kill anyone who observed such memorial

The war that took place in Biafraland was bigger than world war I & II put together but as usual they will say they are blacks that it's not of importance.

The moment you mention Biafra all Nigerians preek go stand up.

Meanwhile ISWAP west Africa has given borno indigenes quit notice or they will all die.

If you know all this, then stop playing that victim card.
PoliticsRe: Why The North Must Choose Between Obi And Tinubu by DMerciful(m): 6:28am On Jun 02, 2024
Relax, everything is not fight. I'm telling you why the Northerners will choose Obi over their possible 8yrs starting from 2031.

As regarding restructuring, I do not want regionalism but state autonomy.

I want my state Delta to control her resources and pay 20% to the fg. We will control everything except immigration, currency, foreign affairs, military, customs.

We will have our own state police, power grid, educational system, minimum wage, constitution and state supreme court(there would be federal Supreme Court)

This will be replicated in every state.
helinues:
Na so confusion dey start oo. No be una dey shout we should return back to regionalism. Which one be Northerners won't see money to share.

Is Peter Obi contesting for Nigeria president because of money to share?

Ayam not understanding
PoliticsRe: I Condemn The Aba Attack, However We Are Not Scared Of The Nigerian Army by DMerciful(m): 6:22am On Jun 02, 2024
Building bridge does not mean leaving the best candidates to vote for rogues.

Ojukwu contested for presidency with Obasanjo, Igbos voted Obasanjo.

Igbos voted Obi this time because he is way better than Tinubu and Atiku. Replace Obi with Okorocha or Kalu and Igbos will vote Atiku because Atiku is better than these Igbos
sunboy:
I am not even talking about you voting for Tinubu nor did I mention Atiku.

I am just pointing out your hypocrisy that’s all. Build bridge with other regions if you want to win election not burn them.

Tinubu is a criminal, what about Atiku? And other politicians on the ballot 😂😂😂

If you can’t take it, don’t dish it and call it gang up cos things don’t go your way.
PoliticsRe: Why The North Must Choose Between Obi And Tinubu by DMerciful(m): 6:19am On Jun 02, 2024
There what is called existential threat! If Tinubu achieves regionalism in his second term, Northerners coming to power in 2031 will not save them because there will be no money at the center to share.

They might head the central government but it will be too weak to do anything for the North
helinues:
Best bet and wait for another 8 years making 12 years.

Hahahah, the same Northerners we know.. You self see am say Obi's presidency ambition na palm wine tapper's dream
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs Good Governance Not Change In System – VP Shettima by DMerciful(m): 6:16am On Jun 02, 2024
How do you propose the regions would be?
ChybuzzDD:
Restructuring should be regional or nothing.

Let people who share the same identity do their things together and their own way

Otherwise, you guys can continue with the present structure that's not working until it collapses and everyone doomed.
PoliticsRe: I Condemn The Aba Attack, However We Are Not Scared Of The Nigerian Army by DMerciful(m): 6:15am On Jun 02, 2024
Tinubu does not mean Yorubas. You want Igbos to vote for a criminal drug baron and a very corrupt man because he is Yoruba? Didn't Igbos vote for Obasanjo thats most loved?

There's gang up and you know it
sunboy:
Again this is still not a gang up issue.. it’s your political elite not associating with other regions … instead you’re quick to blame other tribes for any failures but never accountable.

Last election, many Ibos call Yoruba people betrayal for voting Tinubu, yet an Ibo man won in Lagos and got his highest vote outside of the East from the South West.

Yet, the whole East voted 99% of their vote for their own, yet they call other tribes tribalism even after voting for an Ibo man.

If another election comes around, think those that you tagged betrayal will vote for your son again?

You don’t build political bridge by blackmailing everybody! Or playing victim card. Get to work, work with other region. Winning a presidential election in Nigeria requires 2-3 regions voting for over overwhelming, but you want to do it alone then blame others for ganging up against you.

Let’s get over this blackmail story once and forever and built bridges instead.

Would that not have saved Nigerians from Tinubu, the undisputed heavyweight champion of incompetence?
PoliticsRe: Why The North Must Choose Between Obi And Tinubu by DMerciful(m):
The North won't be unwise to know that the reelection of Tinubu will destroy the North.

Their best bet is to support Obi because regional government in the face of the overwhelming insecurity in the North will turn Northern Nigeria to Yemen
helinues:
Btw, North can never vote Peter Obi in 2027 . They would either support the reelection of president Tinubu or present their own candidate to support.

The former is likely going to be the scenario as they would prefer to wait for 4 years than disrupt the unofficial rotating plans of presidency

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs Good Governance Not Change In System – VP Shettima by DMerciful(m): 5:16am On Jun 02, 2024
What do you mean by regions control their resources? Which regions?

Restructuring can be made to make states autonomous and thats the restructuring that will be accepted
SoNature:
Tinubu should prepare a bill based on regional resource control and forward to the national assembly to pass. Let's see how they won't pass the bill.

Since 2017, Buhari set up a restructuring committee headed by El-Rufai that recommended that all regions should control their resources. Up till today, APC hasn't implemented their recommendations.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs Good Governance Not Change In System – VP Shettima by DMerciful(m): 5:15am On Jun 02, 2024
Restructuring can only be approved on the basis of the current 36 states structure. No NASS would approved regional government
