If obi cared about country men, he won't hike tuition fees, students protest and he will reply with "education is not for the póór".

STFU...you're a nobody
DeLaRue:
What is the point of Mr Obi issuing irrelevant and meaningless statements.

Must you comment on everything and anythinghuh

You're playing the ostrich. Simple arithmetic tells you there's subsidy
TimeManager:
What's the point of this repeated news?. If you believe the costs of fuel is higher, then go import your own fuel and sell it at higher price and make profits. NNPCL says there's no more subsidy, i don't think any sensible individual should be bitter about that.

Labour should collect 60k if the lawmakers and executives will follow the same salary structure
Judgementa1:
Was not aware of it.

60k or 100k

Nigerians will still experience inflation.

Expect federal government to direct their generating parastal to increase their goods and services.

Labour should be reasonable with their demands 60k is okay.

When minimum wage was 30k average federal workers salary is more than 200k.

With increase to 497k expect the least federal generating parastatal to received 7m to 10m per month.
PoliticsRe: Strike: Organised Labour Has Not Committed Any Offence, Falana Tells AFG by DMerciful(m): 7:21am On Jun 04, 2024
Labour should not agree to less than 100k
PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 7:12am On Jun 04, 2024
Govt cannot wait for all state before moving to a new minimum wage once the old one expires.

Stop giving excuses
helinues:
No, FG can pay N100k as minimum wage , na to print more money now.

The point is, if some states in Nigeria are still paying N18k as minimum wage, do you have an idea how many years the N30k was approved?

How then do you expect states that can't pay N30k, even some that are paying are either owning or delaying to pay anything above N100k as minimum wage.

Meanwhile, minimum wage is not only applicable to government sectors, even private sectors as well.

Labour haven't been reasonable with their proposal for the onset
PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 7:00am On Jun 04, 2024
Are you saying govt refused to finalized minimum wage discussion because of Abia State? Is Edo State not paying 70k?
helinues:
Are you aware that Abia state is still paying N18k as minimum wage?
PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 6:55am On Jun 04, 2024
Don't divert from the main issue which is the fact that the last minimum expired in April and 60k is not acceptable.

If govt did not push labour to this limit, this wouldn't have happened
helinues:
Still still, that action wasn't well thought.
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 6:50am On Jun 04, 2024
Borno was paying 8k to teachers
Judgementa1:
No state is paying 8k.

And buhari 30k minimum does not apply to all federal workers.

Most Fg revenue generating parastatal like my place of work where not entitled to it then.

PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m):
The power grid collapse all the time besides they only asked their workers to leave. You don't expect the plants to run themselves?
helinues:
Mobilize? How many states did they take action yesterday?

If they are not interested to suspend the strike, then government should prosecute them for the deliberate saboteur of shutting down the national grid.

Simple as Abc
PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 6:41am On Jun 04, 2024
So you saw only Ajero? What about Usifo?

Infact Labour disappointed by agreeing to suspend the strike

What is 60k? I thought you were sawing labour wont be able to mobilise?
helinues:
They did not even think through the consequences of them shutting down the national grid which would plunged Nigeria into darkness .

They realized it was a big bleeped up when some political elites who used to support their actions back down their support and ask them to be realistic and not to be wicked adding more hardship.

Government could have prosecuted them for that act alone , but instead bring them back to the table with must or.

Ajaero is the most useless NLC president in Nigeria. Most of his actions are not well thought
PoliticsRe: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 6:28am On Jun 04, 2024
They did not...they asked their workers to leave
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 6:26am On Jun 04, 2024
Arent some states paying 18k and some 8k when minimum is 30k?
Judgementa1:
What type of reasoning is this.

Minimum wage is minimum amount public or private employers can pay.

If u pay less ur workers union can decide to charge u to an industrial court.
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 6:05am On Jun 04, 2024
If the minimum wage ia 100k, the employer of the driver would be forced to go up to like 50k. If minimum wage is 60k, the driver might be given 30k.

In essence, the higher the minimum, the better for everybody
Otamendi99:
Oyibo. By law, once a new minimum wage is signed. Every one gets dat. So wen it comes to ur turn u try to shift post and call it not Abysmal.. we will see who will enforce it now.

PoliticsRe: Labour Party Disappointed Their Supporters Regarding The Minimum Wage by DMerciful(m): 11:15pm On Jun 03, 2024
Atleast you guys won't say its the opposition
helinues:
As in, the Obidients didn't see it coming. They fought almost everyone early this morning regarding the minimum wage but since LP came out to tell Labour Union to be realistic and shun the strike without adding more hardship to Nigerians, the Obidients have disappeared from online.

Chai, Labour party don dey turn to Agbado party oo

All the multinationals ,big private companies and even medium sized companies are paying far above 100k as minimum already
triplechoice:
How did you arrive at that figure?

Those in the public sector where there's 100% compliance are not up to 5% . So how can the private sector where there so many exemptions for employers be more than 30%.

If you haven't read the minimum wage act as it applies to the private sector, Google it and read and come back to tell me how it can be what you say it's.
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 10:38pm On Jun 03, 2024
More than 30%
triplechoice:
But less than 1%

PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 9:48pm On Jun 03, 2024
Perhaps this will pressure govt to bring down the cost of living. 60k is not acceptable, 100k can be managed with other palliatives
jamafa:
How many private companies can pay 100k as minimum wages??
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Negotiations Will Be Tough - Atedo Peterside by DMerciful(m): 9:38pm On Jun 03, 2024
It affects even the private companies
slim75d:
My only problem with this minimum wage issue is that it only favours civil servants. Those of us in the private sector, and those who have no sector are suffering the hardship brought by the strike. Ones labour get what they want they'll move on.

Bring down the salaries of the NASS members then labour would understand

PoliticsRe: 60 Minimum Wage Is Too Too Much. Strike to reduce senators salary instead by DMerciful(m): 9:33pm On Jun 03, 2024
Its a whole supply chain. They'd increase their prices for services too.

Tinubu should have thought about this before removing subsidy drastically and doing nothing for one yr to mitigate the effects.

Tinubu’s incompetence brought us here
free234free:
did I say the govt has no money? I said asking for 100k minimum wage is selfish because the non govt workers will be left to move like paupers

Make use of the term you have now to govern well

PoliticsRe: 60 Minimum Wage Is Too Too Much. Strike to reduce senators salary instead by DMerciful(m): 8:50pm On Jun 03, 2024
It doesn't work that way. If you pay the government officials tens of millions per month, it would be outrageous to say the govt has no money
free234free:
what response fo you want. I said it clearly that if you have issues with what a senator ends, go on strike for it to be reduced
PoliticsRe: Just One Statement And Things Fall Apart. by DMerciful(m): 8:48pm On Jun 03, 2024
Abacha had vision 2010 while we were in 1997. He made sure all political parties adopted him as the sole presidential candidate.

How far?
Olachase:
worst part he's here to rule for 8 years 😁😁
PoliticsRe: Soldiers Surround Venue Of NLC Meeting With FG by DMerciful(m): 8:46pm On Jun 03, 2024
Listen, Labour knows that N494k is not realistic but if the would accept N100k, you expect them to start negotiations from N150k?

If they do that, they will never see even N70k.If you don't know how negotiations work, better STFU!
TimeManager:
What consequences?, pls stop joking!. FG can pay any amount but can your state governors and private employers able to pay?. Can Ajaero pay his driver 494k?. If Labour is not being careful, government will be forced to retrench workers and private employers lay off their staff and nothing labour can do about it.

PoliticsRe: Total Compliance Across States As Strike Grounds Economic Activities by DMerciful(m): 8:39pm On Jun 03, 2024
We're not nice but docile. The reason is because of tribalism. When Buhari was failing,
Hausa-Fulanis were defending him because of ethnicity and religion. Yorubas were defending him because of ethnicity(Osinbajo) and religion(Yoruba Muslims)

Now Tinubu is failing, Yorubas are defending him because of ethnicity

Hmm from 8000 to 80,000 and Nigerians still looks peaceful believe me we are very nice people no other countries in the world will tolerate it..
This strike is long over due.

The food inflation we are experiencing now was a well orchestrated plan of few people whose aim is to control Africa's (expecially, Nigeria) population. But our government is playing politics with everything.
