In the run on to the 2022 PDP National Congress, Obidients organized a nationwide march demanding PDP to adopt Peter Obi as their candidate and leave the rest of the fight for Nigerian youths, but many people in PDP weren’t convinced at all. Their reason? Obi cannot win a national election.
To the naysayers in PDP then, they insisted an Igbo man cannot win a National election for their party. They were certain Atiku will win them the election by 12 noon on Election Day.
Peter Obi saw the signs and left the PDP to Labour Party. A party that was just there. People laughed at him and those supporting him. They said Labour Party had no structure. Some swore Obi will not win a single Local Government. Others swore he won’t score up to 1million votes. But in less than 8 months, Obi was able to galvanize his supporters and went into the election and came out with 6.1million votes officially allocated to him by INEC. By that result, he was just 800k behind the Atiku they swore would win the election even with all of PDP’s structure, Governors, Senators, House of Rep Members and others. The country is still in shock till today.
Now, as the preparation for 2027 elections heats up with talks of coalition ongoing, the naysayers against Peter Obi have started their usual rhetorics. They are swearing Peter Obi is not a match for Tinubu; that only Atiku can face Tinubu and win. And I can’t help but laugh.
So I ask, who do you think will pose a tougher challenge for Tinubu in 2027? Is it Atiku or Peter Obi?
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Keep in mind that should Atiku emerge the coalition candidate, it would truly be the battle of South vs North. No matter how hard anyone tries, that sentiment will rally the south behind Tinubu. All that will be needed will be the votes of some northern Christians, who mostly vote in same direction with the south, and Tinubu returns to power.
But with Peter Obi?
With Peter Obi as the coalition candidate, the Southeast and Southsouth will be locked down. Tinubu will be restricted to the Southwest (some Southwest votes if you like).
In the north, the northern Christians will always choose Obi over Tinubu any day and time.
And then all that will be needed will be for Atiku, Elrufai, and their men to deliver the core north and the election will be won by noon day on Election Day.
But these are just my own thoughts. What is yours?

nikky5: I love VDM. I love his charisma and doggedness. He is brave and articulate. He is loved by the Nigeria youth and earned the appelation of PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIA YOUTH.
I have watched many of his videos online as one of his followers. I discovered he makes unguided statements that could get him into trouble.
His recent arrrest at the GTB may be unconnected with the bank. The bank created the alibi for his arrest. This is because he had gone there with his mum to lodge a complain about inlawful withdrawals from his mum's account.
He might have been trailed by the EFCC to the bank and waited for his exit before arresting him.
He was not arrested within the bank premises or in the banking hall. They could have effected the arrest there. That would have sent a wrong signal.
The sins of VDM in my candid opinion may be bordered on cyberbulling. The rejoinder he sent to the Arewa youth president might have prompted a petition on cyberbullying.
The EFCC also came on the cyber backlash. How dare you accuse the agency of corruption which you cannot prove. How can you tell the world that you have moles planted in the EFCC. He really goofed and his time is up. His fanbase and the huge support he enjoys from the Nigeria people might have gotten into his head forgetting that he is not above the law.
I also read something online about VDM and Chioma Chinwe which I cannot wrap my head around.
I am afraid his videos are enough evidence the court will.rely upon. Nigeria is a country I cannot die for. If he choses to die for his country, good for him. His name will be written in gold in the annals of the activists who sacrificed their lives for Nigerians.
I pray Providence help him to come out unscathe from this trouble. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do since the law is the final arbiter. The EFCC will do everything within the confines of their powers to seek a pound of flesh.

VDM is a controlled opposition. His arrest is meant yo be a diversion from Seyi Tinubu's alleged kidnap and torture of NANS president as well as the alleged missing 71 billion from NELFUND.

Secondly, he should sign an agreement with which ever the security operatives that arrested him to stay of social media for at least 3 months and if possibly his passport should be seized for that 3 months.
They can then release him based on those conditions just to make peace to reign .
He, VDM must have learned within the few days he was arrested that being controversial have it's own consequences. He should slow down. With all what he has been doing, tell him to contest for ordinary political position and see if those who he has been fighting for will vote for him. Sowore is a good example

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a serial Nigerian politician. Having served as the former vice-president of the country between 1999-2007, he has been contesting for the highest office in the land since 1993.
In the build up to the 2015 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar led some governors out of the PDP and forged an alignment that birthed the current APC.
In my opinion, Atiku could have thrown his weight behind Goodluck Jonathan and ensured he won the 2015 election. This is what President Bola Tinubu did when he patiently waited for President Buhari to finish eight years before throwing his hat into the ring.
The gang up against President Jonathan in 2015 that ensured his defeat ended Atiku's hopes of ever becoming President of Nigeria.
