Ok then. But my cousin is planning on using his 100/200 level university transcripts. Don't know if that will suffice.

Best of luck on your interview
Doesn't matter. They still need it. Everyone who applied for a bachelor's already has a first year transcript.

See how a graduate is talking. Given that Deutsch is the official language in Germany, you didn't border to check the language requirement? You just applied?

Anyway, go speak grammar with VO for Lagos.

Wait, so you applied for a course without knowing the language of instruction? How are we supposed to help you? You're the one who applied. Email the international office and direct your questions to them.

You guys are so damn lazy it's annoying. You want to be spoonfed every damn thing! How about you go to the German consulate website and find these things out for yourself?

The time you're waiting to get a response from someone here could have been used to search whatever you want on Google.

Before Nairaland, there was Google.

Send your school an email asking that they extend your enrolment deadline. When they send you the extension , then send that to the embassy. You'll be given a date afterwards.

Guten abend!
Please I need your help on this.
1). You talked about issues relating to funding.
I'll be having my visa interview on the 10th of August and my enrollment date starts from Sept 25th to 19th October. I'm planning to fund the account on 20th September cos that's when the money will be available.
Please is it too late cos I wish to travel on the 1st of October?

2). Again, a friend of mine wants to certify her document in the embassy, will she need to fix an appointment for that or she should just go to the embassy.?
She will be certifying 3 set of documents for 3 different schools that are not under uniassist, how do they charge at the embassy?

Please Nairaland help me out here.
huh huh huh
I can help you with number 2. She needs to go to the German consulate website and book and appointment.

The first 3 applications are certified for free. Anything after that is N3300/application.

Who has any idea if EBS Business school Reutlingen, insist on Toefl and Ielts for English requirements from Nigerians?
For the bachelor's program they do require proof of English proficiency. Don't know about the masters program.

Plus I hope you're aware that they're planning to introduce tuition fees of €1500/semester.

The problem is actually opposite. Na young age dey worry me bro. I was thinking of reducing my age by 10 years. I'm 25 now cuz I want that to aid my Fußball spielen career. Now the questions are: How will this act not affect me, will I need to get a new passport, of course I know I'll need to take O'level again and apply to a university with swift calender so my 100 level transcript can be ready on-time as no one expects a 16 yr old boy with a 10 year Waec result and BSc certificate. As regards the int'l passport. Will my finger print not be sensitive to d system if I've done it b4 ? OR should I just use my normal age, results, passport and let go of the ambition to play ball?? Thanks!
It is not worth it, you most likely will be caught. They ask for your primary and secondary school leaving certificate (are you going to go back to secondary school too?) and a biographically old document, just to ascertain you're who you say you are. Do you really think the people are the embassy will think you're 15?

If you have to put your integrity on the line to play football, which by the way you're not certain of once you get to Germany, it's not worth it.

Go to Germany, go to school, learn the language, graduate, and then live your football dreams through being a coach. Most of these top football clubs have coaches who didn't play football or who had a short football career. There's always light at the end of the tunnel.

Please who has been able to buy a waec scratch card, from banks in Lagos?

Can anyone suggest where to get one?

You can buy online and print the card pin and serial number to take to the embassy.
I don't know anyone who's done it but that's what I plan to do.

Well you need your blocked account opening to be given a visa date. Go to Fintiba, apply for a blocked account, and wait 3 working days to be given a confirmation of account opening. Send that, along with your admission letter and passport data page, to the German embassy and you'll be given a date, provided your enrolment deadline is still far.

Good day,

I got a couple of questions to ask

1. Is it possible to become proficient in German (up to A2 or B1) under four (4) months of German class?
2. Which German language school would be excellent to study the language in Germany?

Cheers
I learned A1 in 2 months and wrote the exam, though I had a private teacher so I'm guessing that's why. I would honestly advice you start learning German here. According to what my tutor said, it harder there cause they won't teach you in English at all. All German. So if you're a novice that wants to learn A1 German it would be hard oh.

I don't think the embassy will give you a language visa for A1-B1 because the Goethe Institut teaches it. So they might tell you to learn the language here and apply for school when you're done. I stand to be corrected but this is what I've seen so far.

Dear applicant,

Congratulations! Out of the 1.200 applications, you achieved between 50-69 points in the first step of our application process for the Master of Science in International Business Studies (MIBS) at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. To be admitted to the program, you need to reach 70 points. For the second step in our application process, you therefore have to hand in a short academic essay of no more than 2 pages about the topic:

Please connect the term decoupling to the business field; the specific direction you want to address is up to you.

Please write in accordance to academic journal style and use APA for referencing.

Please send your essay to marcus.conrad@fau.de until Sunday, July 16th, 2017.

Here you can find the formal guidelines for the essay:

· Word document
· DIN A4
· Language: English
· Justification typesetting
· Proportional script (text: Times New Roman, titles: Arial)
· Font size: 12
· Line spacing: 1.5
· Paragraphs have to be separated by blank lines
· All margins: 2 cm (left, right, upper, lower margin)
· Maximum number of pages: 2 (excluding references)
· Reference list

Further information will not be given during the next week. No further questions will be answered.

Soon after the deadline, you will receive your final decision.

The program will start on October, 9th with an orientation week.

Approx. 50 students from more than 25 countries will be part of the MIBS.

Best of luck and kind regards from Germany,

Marcus Conrad

P.S. In case you are not intending to start our MIBS program in Nuremberg, Germany in October 2017, please inform us, so that we can exclude you from our list.

Guys, good morning . Pls I just got a mail from Fintiba this morning, Fintiba sent me two sets of docs for download , a single page doc showing the account details and about 13 pages showing account details and other ancillaries . I'm guessing it's the single page I need to scan as parts of docs for my booking of Visa interview ,

But pls, what other documents are needed for booking of Visa interview pls . And any other thing I need to know . Thank you as you help a neophyte brother
The time you would have spent waiting for someone to reply to this would have been spent going to the German embassy website. These are the things you can look up yourself instead of bringing it here and wasting ample time.

To answer your question, you need the confirmation document, your admission letter, and data page of your passport

TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by dobeespen: 7:21pm On Jul 05, 2017
I just got done with my interview. Remember I said it was at 8:30PM? Well I was just casually lying down on my bed at 6:10PM when I decided to check what time it is in Frankfurt. I saw that it was 7:10pm. I did a double take and it still said 7:30. That was when I realized I had miscalculated our time zone. I thought we were ahead of them and never bothered to confirm, not knowing we were actually behind them by an hour. So I thought it would start at 8:30

Gosh, I went into a tantrum because there was no light and my dad wasn't home, and I never even baff sef! Had to take a bath and get ready hoping my dad shows up. Luckily, he got home at 6:20PM and was able to put on the gen for me and I was ready at exactly 6:30PM.

The interview didn't last more than 20 minutes in total. They asked me about the article and my thoughts on it, why I chose ESB, and gave me behavioral questions and asked what I would do in the scenarios they mentioned.

Lastly, they asked me if I had any questions for them. Then they said "we look forward to having you here at ESB Business School"
In my head I was like "na so, this one you people don dey ask for tuition" As if they knew what I was thinking they said "are you aware that they might be tuition fees introduced this coming semester?" I was like yeah I know.

Then he was like "I'm not so sure it will be implemented though. Nothing is certain yet. It might be and it might not be implemented" I was a bit surprised because I thought they had passed it and it had become law. If there's no tuition it makes my choice hard because I REALLY like the IB program at ESB, but because of tuition and prestige I decided to go with TUM.

It's true that he's targeting Asians, but it's really unwise of him to do so because China comes in at 11th position of US steel imports! Right now, Canada is the largest exporter of steel to Americans, closely followed by Mexico, Brazil, and the EU.

Canada could retaliate by imposing tarrifts on soybeans and US is currently the largest exporter of soybeans to Canada. Guess what happens then? Soybean farmers lose their jobs.

Companies like Ford and General Motors would lose too because they use a large percentage of imported steel. What America should do instead is step up their game and shop making shi**y steel! Maybe at that time US industries can start patronizing them.

Anyhow sha, this is not a wise decision by Trump and I hope the tariff doesn't become law.

IT BASICALLY ON THE UNFAIR TRADE DEALS AND ITS IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY AND SNIDE ABOUT TRUMP'S CLAIM TO PROVIDING JOB..

I COULD DO WITH YOUR FINDINGS TOO.
While that is a good analysis of it, a more important effect of the tariff is the effect it would have on world and international trade, and the aftermath of this could lead to global recession. A 20% increase in steel tariff is utterly ridiculous!

Trump wants the tarrif because he thinks it will grow the American steel industry and build the economy. But if Trump puts the tariff to effect, it'll backfire heavily. it's only natural that other countries will retaliate with their own tarriffs. The demand for American made goods will reduce drastically and this would put a lot of workers out of their jobs. And we all know what happens when a trade war starts. "innocent" consumers would bear the brunt of it and world economy will suffer.

You can also add that German companies like Deutsche Bank are against the tariff as well for the stipulated reasons.

Totally random but does anyone know the timeline for processing visas at the German embassy?

Like after they interview you, I know they send your application and documents to the alien authority.

Do they send your passport and documents by post to Germany and then the alien authority issues the visa?

Or do they send your application and documents electronically to Germany and return your passport to you? Then when your visa is approved from Germany, the embassy in Lagos calls you to come with your passport and put the visa in it?

I'm confused so I'd like clarification. Thanks.

jcgodfrey:
Hi guys,

I wanna say a couple of things. I applied for M.Sc. in Germany as well to a couple of schools, Rhine-Waal, Bochum, Augsburg, and I'm awaiting admission as well.

I work in an African Embassy @Abuja as an admin staff and I understand the frustrations that these Embassies can put us through. Once one gets an admission letter, I see no reason why a foreign Embassy in my country would not go ahead and give me a suitable date to process my visa. They have no sane right to tell me they're fully booked. What does that even mean, fully booked? So why are they here? Nigerian government doesn't represent its citizens well as all. And secondly, guys, we have to get off all that mentality of studying for visa interviews like a coon. Sure, you do your research and give honest answers, and in cases you feel u can embellish without raising an eyebrow, pls do. But when you're asked what you've been doing for a span of years, don't thing these foreigners, VO and all are any better than you. Just be confident and know your details, that's all you need.

When I went for my authentication at the German Embassy here in Abuja, it was done by a German young lady, and when I was done, one dude outside waiting to do his asked if it felt like an exam. I smiled. I understood what he meant but I didn't feel flustered at all, ofcus working in an Embassy helps cus I've met many ambassadors so their VOs and staff seem like my equals to me. I don't even notice them. I'm just being myself. Plus we have to get off this thing where we accord white people as superior to us out of our system. Nothing could be further from the truth. I know its gonna take time for some, but I encourage you to be more confident in presenting yourselves.

So, when I get my admission this month, I'm most likely gonna go through similar hassles for visa date and all, although i'll get my office to write on my behalf in that helps as we're in the Diplomatic Community, but its still wrong. They dare not say that to an American or Canadian that they're fully booked. Its just some covert racism and discrimination. The admission came from their country, so they ought to honor it and process students' visa in a timely manner. That needs to change.
lol your blood dey hot oh. They know the state of Nigeria presently and how people are going to search for greener pastures. Canadians and Americans are developed countries so there's no high demand for their citizens to "run" to Germany.

My best friend is applying to Germany from America and everything was much smoother than what we're going through here.

Lastly, I believe they're treating us how we've protrayed ourselves to be. They're treating us based on how we've presented ourselves to them.
