Please for those in Germany....I am a lawyer in Nigeria and I intend going to germany for greener pastures after study but my fear is that if I opt in for masters of laws I may not be able to get a job since our laws are different and dat does not automatically make me a german lawyer...Though presently I have been gotten admission to study law in Germany but I need your advise?
I have a friend who was exactly in your situation. She even did her masters in law the UK. Moved to Germany when she got married.

Long and short: she's a teacher now. Teaches English as a foreign language.

Goodevening everyone , I've been trying to book my interview date online via my phone and every time it shows that there's no date available , I've used my sisters phone as well and it's the same thing, I'm confused as to what's going on, please has anyone experienced this , help me out, danke Schon
Nothing is wrong with your phone. There are just no more available dates for summer at the moment. Hopefully the embassy uploads more dates or you may just have to defer your admission. Good luck.

Good evening bro n sis, pls is there any one that applied to TUM this summer( I mean people going this march/April) and has receive admission letter preferably MSC Environmental Engineering.
I applied for summer and would be leaving in a few weeks. But I deferred my admission from winter semester so I got my new admission letter a long time ago.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by dobeespen: 3:10pm On Feb 25, 2018
But you know that August is a very late time to get a visa date. It may be almost impossible to get a date at that time. Ask those who had to defer their admission. Last year, embassy stopped giving date in July due to the high demand for visa appointment.

When I went for my interview last year, it was unfathomable for me then to not make it to Germany. But as circumstances would have it, I was not able to meet up.

But going to the embassy and having my interview last year more than prepared me for my interview this year. For the most part, I had a general idea of what to expect since I had done the interview before and wasn't as nervous as I was last year.

My interview this year went 100 percent more smooth than last year's. Getting ready to move to Germany next month. So yeah, I think this option works.

Metabolite01:
Well, nice suggestion all the same.
But in doing so, u need consider some things.

I saw someone suggesting dat he go for his interview and later write dat he can't meet up.

Well, why going through all d stress and money wasting if money is even d major reason here.

First, no one knows his location. Weda he stays far from Lagos state.

So for d suggestion of going with incomplete documents, he would have to travel to and from Lagos to get dat done of he is not in Lagos (dis involves, risk, money and time). Also he would have to maybe lodge in an hotel and also transport to d embassy.

For d suggestion dat says he shd get d interview done and write for withdrawal after 2wks, well, in addition to all I've said in d first suggestion, he would also have to pay d visa fee and also send d signed withdrawal confirmation to d embassy through postal mail/courier (dats fuda waste of money).

My suggestion, if u kw u won't be able to raise d funds for BA until Winter 2018 or summer 2019, just cancel ur appointment ryt away and save urself d stress and expenses.

Reasons:
If u get 6mths Ban, it will be lifted by August which still fall into winter 2018 not to talk of summer 2019.

Also, for d sake of ur fellow brothers/sisters dat are fully ready now (both academically, financially, materially, socially, physically and even spiritually, Lol), yet unable to get an appointment date, ur proposed date can help a fellow prospective germanite gets his/her dreams fulfilled. So just cancel and let someone else utilize dat date instead of u wasting it indirectly/intentionally.

Once again, God will person a financial breakthrough and miracle in your life soon. Amen!
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by dobeespen: 12:40pm On Feb 25, 2018
Another suggestion is this. Attend the interview with all your documents. After a week or two, write to the embassy explaining that you won't be able to meet you due to unavoidable financial limitations (this is assuming you're not able to meet up)

Ask to withdraw your visa application. They'll ask you to send it to them in writing and sign it, then they'll send all your original documents to you. That's what I did last winter and I avoided getting rejected.

Don't lose hope. Happened to me last year and I've used this time to better all aspects of my life. Time will go by so fast you won't even notice it. Good luck!

jcgodfrey:
Joshua, woh, thanks ooo. Infact, the matter weak me. Nice suggestion. Although I might still be holding out for a miracle, but if I were to go through with the interview and if a "rejection" wouldn't affect my future chances, etc, yea, I may do the interview.
So, I guess i'll like to know if a rejection would affect future moves, and how long it would take for them to make that decision given I'm to resume April 17th.
I'm trying not to be pessimistic in all these though, but I'm just considering all scenarios.
Thanks bro.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by dobeespen: 10:22am On Feb 21, 2018
Don't fret. It's not a minimum of 6 weeks. Most people get their visa in the 4th week. Plus the embassy would realize you have to meet up with the enrolment deadline and try to get you your visa before that time. April 16th looks feasible for you to meet up with if your interview is on the 16th of March. Good luck!

Gonna step in here real quick and say the lady is saying the truth.

I got admission to ISB BUSINESS school (Reutlingen University) last winter semester, and was offered a scholarship of 1500 euro for my first semester. That basically covered my tuition for the semester. I had to decline it because I'm headed to another school. So yeah, she's right.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by dobeespen: 9:26pm On Jan 05, 2018
Nope, you're wrong. Even the German embassy in Nigeria does the formal obligation. See it on their website sef. I'm sure the German embassy in the US will be able to issue it for her of the one in Nigeria is issuing it.

Olanrewaju92:
What are you saying?

It's a sponsors auslanderbehorde that issues a VERPFLICHTUNGSERKLARÜNG
not any German Embassy of a country.

Hello guys,

I trust everyone is having a great day.

In the light of the recent rejection of Student Visa application from the Embassy...It's obvious our only hope of getting them to re-think their stand is to involve our Legislators and Govt Officials.

I've read that some other Asian countries are facing similar challenge but he truth is Nigerians are the only ones in Africa. The Embassy in Accra attends to 3 countries and it's still open till probably September if not longer...so that argument does not hold water.

In nut, myself and couple of guys have thought it right to get the attention of well-meaning Nigerians to wedge in on our case and call the Embassy to act right.

An article has been put up and we need to flood our Social media handles with this information! LIKE FLOOD IT TILL THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESPOND TO IT.

I believe everyone on this platform should ACTIVELY participate in this; not only those who are yet to get interview dates.
VICTORY FOR ONE IS VICTORY FOR ALL.

This is a case of some people choosing to crush our dreams and aspirations, we shouldn't fold our arms!

If you really believe in result, then LET'S GO ALL OUT TO TWEET and RETWEET, write / share the blog url, Write on facebook, Call that Uncle and Friend in positions of authority.

Copy the President and Osibanjo, all Senators- Murray Bruce, Abike Dabiri, Dino Melaye...ALL OF THEM! , The House of Rep, Media Houses, Linda, Sahara Reporters and every other person you can.

THIS IS ABOUT OUR FUTURE...waiting one year after all the emotional, financial stress and hard work done to get the admission shouldn't go down the drain...

WE ARE THE YOUTH, WE MUSTN'T JUST ALLOW PEOPLE PEDDLE WITH OUR LIVES.

I hope this plea will resonate with everyone here...Even those that have gotten interview dates and those who are yet to even apply.

We need you to make this a reality. The likes, share, re-tweet, copy would go a lonnnnng way!

#Winter17 is possible!

Impossible is nothing!
This post is a joke. The German government owes you NOTHING!! they have their policies and the only people they owe it to serve are Germans. They didn't ask you to apply for education in their country, so they're not liable for any costs incurred on your part. instead of copying gbogbo ti gbogbo to help you with schooling in Germany, tell them to fix the shitty education here so we won't have to start looking for quality education elsewhere.

You won't demand this kind of accountability from your government, it's Germany you want accountability from. Mshew. Please delete this nonsense.

Hello Everyone.

Please, i have a question i need to ask and get answers for.

My application was rejected today on the ground that i couldn't provide means of finance.

And i plan funding my block account this week. Is there any way i can appeal that or do i need to start afresh?

Awaiting kind response.

Thanks
Hello. So sorry for the rejection. You can write an appeal to the embassy explicitly detailing your case and how funding has been an issue because of bureaucratic hassles. Hopefully they'll be able to see reason with you.

Quick question: did the embassy give you a deadline to fund? If they did, how long was it?

Thanks Instructor for the best wishes. I believe I've got that motivation letter sample that you're talking about. However, what I'm asking is if there are standardized guidelines to aid the letter writing.

Regarding the scratch card, why you no' just describe where to get am for here? Others could also benefit.

How 'bout the prepaid envelope, how much is it really?
The prepaid envelope is actually the right price you were informed. It's used to send your original documents back to you, so don't fret.

I sent my passport and travel insurance to the embassy on Monday and it was delivered to the embassy on Tuesday, since Tuesday no confirmation of receipt or contact from the embassy. I cant even track my prepaid courier envelope as the waybill no is not yet registered in their system and i contacted Fedex and they told me that they have picked all ready visas at the German embassy... I don't even know the state of my original documents and my passport.. Should i call the embassy huh?.. I thought they will stamp the visa immediately you present your passport and give you back with your documents if you get AM mail huhhuh?..
No it takes approximately 7 days till they're done with it. Chill and if you don't hear anything from them next week then email the embassy.

Hello @dobeespen

How was your interview at embassy last Friday?

Anything we need to know?

Was it the online waec online pin you printed that was submitted?

Thanks in advance.
Girl you remembered! I appreciate you checking up on me to find out how it was. Apologies on not commenting before now.

I feel a bit meh about the whole thing though.

If there's one thing I've learned from this Interview, its that they want you to go straight to the point. So its not really an interactive interview like I initially thought it would be, its more of a question and answer segment so you have to go straight to the point. Met the dark skinned lady that everyone knows, and to be honest I was a bit taken aback at the way she was shutting me up and telling me to get straight to be point. I mean I thought they wanted you to prove that you knew your guns, but every time I tried to explain each point on detail, she would say "please stop talking about all that and get straight to the point."

The interview questions are the usual. Why Germany? How I applied to the school of my choice choice? Why international business? Also asked me to name all my courses from 1-7th semester. I told her courses from 1-3 and told her I didn't know the rest biko. She also asked me "WO haben sie Deutsch gelernt" and for the life of me i couldn't remember what it meant! I got a brain freeze right then! I ended up remembering when I left

Because I had done a couple of years in a university she gave me a test.

"What is management? Types of management, explain macro management"

In essence, prepare for straightforward and direct answers. And be prepared to be shaken by the lady, but keep your composure. Others who have interviewed with that lady said the same thing about her and got their visas so I'm not too worried.

PS: She didn't ask for my WAEC scratch card oh, and I went with the printout of the details.

thanks for your reply here. I really appreciate your prompt reply. Well I still need more clarification on the lump sum block account. what of those that applied via Daad.de and found tuition free schools and applied. Abeg those that have done which one did you use and what price cos I don't have 88k and I see no use for it since I will still register for health insurance once I land Germany.
Hell naw! That's way too much money. If you go to that road leading to the German embassy, the one where they do printing and passport and all that, you'll see where they came can do travel insurance for 15-25 thousands naira. Don't mind those yeye people.

I had my interview on the 14th of June. Sent my account notification this morning and I got a reply this afternoon. This means my visa was ready long time ago what was left was just funding.

For the questions asked
Your course name, explain the course, motivation, why Germany instead of US, UK or Canada, what do you know about Germany, your course outline, school website, degree thesis and explanation, how will you cope in Germany, whats your intention after the masters, does your course invlove travelling outside Germany. These are what I could remember.
So they don't give funding deadlines? I thought they will goe you a deadline to fund your account and if you haven the funded it at the deadline they'll send your documents back to you?

You might not have to worry about them asking you to pay the €1500 because I got a place in a private school where I have to pay quite a bit and I was concerned as to how this might affect the blocked account so I wrote to the consulate. You once said a lady agreed to shift your date to improve the probability of using TUM admit letter for interview.

It appears she gave you a slot same period as German applicants...and these people are expected to appear in person...

You have to clarify with her...get a date for international applicants. Maybe you would have to use EBS for your interview.

Good luck
Exactly. But the catch is even if I change the date, I will still have to be interviewed in person, according to what they told me. So I've decided to just apply for my visa with ESB. I'm just a tad concerned that they might ask me to pay the €1,500 tuition fee to be issued a visa.

Even if that happens, my admission packet requires that I pay the tuition after I get to Germany because I have to submit other documents as well for enenrollment, so I think that might add to my advantage during my interview.

Thank you for your input.
