candy: Typical.
My husband is a consultant OB/GYN, I can relate. I am an academic, a researcher. I'm not a lazy youth. I know my husband has paid for fuel to run the generator of the hospital so many times so they won't operate with a rechargeable lamp, even when he was a resident doctor. Likewise other resident doctors. I'm not an arm chair critic, I do my criticism on as many platforms as I can; way beyond nairaland sir.
I don't belong to any political party and I know an average politician is a thief. One thing is certain: we need to do away with the idea of selling votes to the highest bidder. They are all out there to make a mockery of the misery of ordinary Nigerians. Let's look beyond what we can gain today and consider tomorrow! It's Buhari today, it will be another polithiefcian tomorrow and if care is not taken, the cycle continues. Do you improve on the system by spending your money to purchase essential items, NO NO and NO.He buys fuel today, buys water tomorrow,, buys antiseptics a day after, pays for refuse clearance same time. How can his hospital be sustained like this in the long run. He is being a poor manager, if he is the head. Tell him he should think beyond the four walls of his clinic. I tell you this from experience in running a govt hospital. Internally generated revenue has inched upwards to the extent we could buy a N5m generator. Aim to conquer your environment, madam |

candy: The president said he is condidering raising the health sector budget!!! Still considering when things have gone down south!
You people can afford to travel abroad to treat ear infections when Nigerians can't afford to treat common malaria in a Nigerian hospital with high the cost of an average anti malaria drug in a pharmacy now. You keep talking about primary health care centers where they don't have doctors and the patients have to buy jik, detergent and gloves before they are attended to. Some general hospitals include stuff like fuel for generator, a 25-ltr keg of water...in their child delivery list in Ibadan and you are considering!
Doctor's work is a divine call indeed! Arm chair critic. You better wake up from your reverie and make yourself useful to your immediate environment. It is surprising how you want to blame the illegal packages you run in your place of work(assuming you are not a lazy youth) on the President. |

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Wednesday raised the alarm over aerial surveillance of the Government House, Ado-Ekiti by a police helicopter.
Fayose said the police chopper has constituted danger to his personal safety, his family, workers and visitors to the Government House.
He expressed dismay that aerial surveillance of his official residence and office has continued unabated even after the July 14 governorship election in the state.
In a statement issued on by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor described the development as “brazen show of naked force and abuse of power by the Federal Government.”
He also accused the nation’s security forces of allowing themselves to be used to intimidate political opponents despite being funded with tax payers’ money.
According to him, security agencies must be apolitical and not turned themselves to willing tools in the hands of powers that be.
He, however, vowed not to be intimidated by the alleged clampdown, adding that he would continue to speak against injustice and advocate for liberty of Nigerians.
Fayose said: “They continue to fly helicopters over the Government House and Governor’s Office in a way that compromises the safety and well-being of residents and workers.
“The helicopter flies so low that it runs the risk of crashing into high-rise buildings and masts within the premises.
“The noise pollution this causes is enough irritation. This brazen show of naked force and abuse of power is as ungodly as it is undemocratic.
“If the security forces belong to all Nigerians and not to President Muhammadu Buhari and APC, it should not be biased in this blatant manner
“It is unprofessional of the security forces to allow themselves be this debased, running APC errands when they are funded with resources that belong to all of us.
“They are obligated by the Constitution to be apolitical and not willing tools in the hands of the powers-that-be
“Once again, I say I will not be intimidated. I will stand on my feet until every injustice is upturned and the freedom and liberties of our people are restored http://thenationonlineng.net/police-helicopter-threatening-my-life-fayose/

HajimeSaito:

This is the same Yusuf Usman who the Minister of Health Isaac Adewole sacked for embezzling NHIS funds when the Dull-ard was wasting tax payers money in the United Kingdom.
He boasted that he was untouchable because he is Buhari's nephew and he was eventually reinstated.
When he was in charge of the NHIS one of his first actions in office was said to be the appointment of his younger brother as General Manager (Legal) and his niece, a level 8 officer from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), catapulted to grade level 13 at the NHIS.
He also bought himself a N58m SUV from NHIS funds way above his N2.5m approval limit without the knowledge nor the concurrence of the supervising ministry despite that his office already had a number of serviceable SUVs.
You can read his story here:

UnchangeableGod: Sir, vote buying, bribery and corruption did not start today. That is why our president, who is supposedly a man of integrity was elected to fight and kill corruption including vote buying. PDP cannot swear that they too did not bribe the voters. The difference according to reports is that the PDP paid before service while the APC paid after service (with evidence of voting for the party and in collusion with the security agents). This act of vote buying should be vehemently condemned because it poses a great danger. The government in power now will not be there for ever but is setting a precedent. God bless Nigeria. Is it Buhari that will change the mindset of the voters and politicians? |
