I hope you're not using this Trinitarian analogy as a proof of God's existence, DoctorAlien.
GOD exists. It's evident in all nature. The cryptic and highly ordered nature of the Universe leaves no doubt as to the existence of an infinitely Wise Being.

We learn important lessons about our Creator by studying His Creation.
Christianity Etc › Re: THE SABBATH ÐAÝ: Saturday Or Sunday? by DoctorAlien(m): 4:15pm On Oct 08, 2016
Moreover, just a little research on the origin of the observance of Sunday will make it clear that it has its root in paganism.

GOD Himself came to down to this earth just to communicate the 10 Commandments to Israel. GOD actually spoke the 10 Commandments with His own lips, and all Israel heard. GOD then says, "My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips." Psa. 89:34.

In the light of this verse, do you think anybody can change anything in the 10 Commandments which GOD spoke with His own lips? Or do you think any man can demote the 10 Commandments from the exalted position in which GOD has kept it?
Christianity Etc › Re: THE SABBATH ÐAÝ: Saturday Or Sunday? by DoctorAlien(m): 4:00pm On Oct 08, 2016
It is worthy of note that Paul, whom some people constantly misquote just to support their unbiblical notion actually kept the Sabbath day too(Acts 17:2).

Would Paul keep the Sabbath day and then tell us not to keep it? You know the answer to this question.

In the light of this, we see that in Col. 2:16-17, Paul was talking about ceremonial laws and rites. Apart from the Seventh-day Sabbath(Saturday), which is a part of the moral law, there are other Sabbaths with the Jews kept. They included jubilees, feasts(of booths, etc), the seventh-year sabbath, etc. However, these were ceremonial, and not a part of the distinct 10 Commandments.

Included in these ceremonial rites are commandments concerning foods and drinks. These were all nailed to the cross, as they were pointing to Christ.

Ask yourself, if we are now free from the law, are we to kill, steal, fornicate, bow down to images, take GOD's name in vain, covet, and lie?

If not, where are these commands explicitly stated?
Christianity Etc › Re: THE SABBATH ÐAÝ: Saturday Or Sunday? by DoctorAlien(m): 3:13pm On Oct 08, 2016
Ebiezprada,

The Sabbath day is Saturday. There is no doubt as to its identity.

The Sabbath institution is as old as Creation. It certainly predates Sinai. GOD gave the Sabbath to Adam in Eden. All the holy men of GOD, from Adam to Seth, to Methuselah, to Enoch, all kept the Sabbath day. Contrary to the assertion of the poster above me, Abraham kept GOD's law(See Genesis 26:5). The Sabbath was a part of the law he kept.

We Christians keep the law not to be saved, but because we are saved. We also try not to disobey this law because we will be judged by it(James 2:12). We are justified by faith, but not by faith alone, because faith without works is dead(James 2:14).

Jesus commanded us to keep the law. In fact, teaching men to disregard the law is a great offence in the sight of GOD.(Matt.5:17-19). Jesus himself kept the Sabbath(Luke :16). Wouldn't you like to be like Jesus?

There is only one day which GOD called His own: the Sabbath day(Isa. 58:13). John was in Spirit on the Sabbath day.

Antiparticle,

I read the long piece you wrote on your journey to atheism. You said you started to become aware of the genocidal acts of GOD. This is the same reason why I wrote that seven-point article you quoted. An understanding of the fact that GOD created and owns humanity will make the motives behind His relationship with humanity clearer.

To the issue of miracles, I can tell you categorically that I have witnessed miracles in my life. Miracles, however, are not a standard for measuring GOD. Satan can do miracles too.

Concerning the slave trade, I'm a bit surprised you focused only on Africans. Do you know that slave trade is as old as man? I was expecting you to ask "why did GOD even allow slave trade to originate?" Asking this question will then lead us into asking "why is there evil today?"

On the historicity of Jesus, it is rather unfortunate that you stumbled upon only biased materials. You can read up Tacitus' piece on Jesus.

I wouldn't mind discussing all this with you on a new thread.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why No Christian Lady Should Ever Marry An Atheist!! by DoctorAlien(m): 12:53am On Oct 08, 2016
Antiparticle,

I understand where you're coming from, and I must admit that for an atheist(or someone who doesn't believe in GOD), you're really civil and ready to reason.

Well, I cannot presume to say that I have represented Christ's love as good as I should have done it. However, I know I have tried to reason with many a skeptic from the "Christ's love" point of view. The fact remains, unfortunately, that many will still not believe. The Bible has to be true in Psalm 14:1.

I'm somewhat intrigued that you, a person who had found "Christ's love", no longer believes in Jesus Christ.

Why did you abandon Christianity? What questions shook your faith in Christ? What discoveries did you make? What was the last straw that broke the camel's back?
Christianity Etc › Re: Why No Christian Lady Should Ever Marry An Atheist!! by DoctorAlien(m): 10:31pm On Oct 07, 2016
When I say GOD, anyway, I mean Jehovah: the only wise and true GOD.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why No Christian Lady Should Ever Marry An Atheist!! by DoctorAlien(m): 10:21pm On Oct 07, 2016
Antiparticle,

I appreciate your thoughts on this issue. However, you will agree with me that most "atheists" come to arguments with their minds made up. They have already concluded that GOD does not exist. And so when they say, "prove that GOD exists," you know they are not ready to reason with open minds. I'm sure that if GOD Himself came down and stood before them just to confirm that He exists, many of these "atheists" will dismiss such an experience as mere hallucination. Such is the degree of their openmindedness.

So what proof do you really need? Keep in mind that the post you quoted was made in a bid to clarify the character of GOD, which "atheists" willingly distort in a bid to create a strawman of Christian arguments.

At this point, I must say that most of what we have here as "atheists" are either hypocrites or unintelligent folks. When they want to show off their ignorance, they malign GOD. And when you make things clear to them about GOD's pure character, they scream "GOD does not exist!"

i didnt say it, your bible did.

In Matthew 25:46, Jesus said, "These shall go away into everlasting punishment but the righteous into eternal life."

Mark 9:43, "And if your hand makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched."

Revelation 14:11, "And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever."
Sodom and Gomorrah was said to be destroyed with eternal fire(Jude 1:7). It doesn't mean that Sodom is still burning today.

GOD said He would destroy Jerusalem with a fire that shall not be quenched(Jer. 17:27). We know that the fire that devoured Jerusalem went out after it completed its work of destruction.

The fire of hell will never be quenched until it has completed its work of annihilation. Satan and sinners will cease to exist forever and ever.

In all honesty your heaven is a sardistic, boring and very boring place
Nobody will burn in hell forever. The fire of the vengeance of GOD will burn Satan and sinners and obliterate them/annihilate them. Then the memory of them will be deleted and forgotten forever. smiley

It would be a massive turn-off to those that will be saved to know that sinners are still existing in some part of GOD's Creation supposedly burning.

You're right. Every of our actions in Heaven will give praise to GOD. As we walk the streets of Jerusalem with Jesus Christ by our side, GOD is praised. As we explore the vast expanse of GOD's Creation, GOD is praised. As we sing in the Heavenly choir, GOD is praised. As we build and inhabit mansions, GOD is praised. As we sit down by His magnificent throne to listen to pure Words of Wisdom, GOD is praised.

Every thing will give the praise to GOD in Heaven. smiley

In Heaven, you can never switch on your TV to hear that Nigeria is in recession, or that a new viral disease is on the rampage. You won't be afraid of anything. Those things that make you sad won't be there. You can never hear that a man was shot dead in Detroit or that a black was killed by a policeman.

There won't even be a policeman because no criminal will be in Heaven. smiley

That didn't answer anything.

I'm asking how "unconditional love" can have conditions without contradicting the very definition of the word.

Also unless you have evidence for those points you've typed above (the bible doesn't count) then it literally means as much to me as a list of principles from the Norse god Odin. Or maybe even less, because at least Odin's list would be more interesting and less illogical.

What's unconditional about sending someone to an infinity of torture for not believing in you? There's obviously a condition there.

Or do you not know what unconditional actually means and are just repeating the same things you've heard in church for years upon years...
I just felt compelled to explain things to you.

1. GOD created you. He owns you.

2. GOD demands that you pay due obedience and respect to Him, as the Creator.

3. Sin is refusing to obey GOD.

4. GOD hates sin. His eyes are too pure to behold iniquity.

5. Sin pollutes GOD's creation. Disaster and death exist today because of sin. For the people who obey GOD, the presence of sin and its effect is enough torture.

6. GOD wants to rid His creation of sin and its effect, so that peace will reign.

7. It follows then that GOD will also get rid of those who have vowed to continue to practise sin, despite all the pleas and warnings from GOD.

Yes Hebrews 1 to 5 then 6 verse 1:

Heb 6:1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from DEAD WORKS and of faith toward God,

DEAD WORKS AND OF FAITH TOWARDS GOD.

The words are not; Repenting from Evil Deeds and placing our faith in God.
Ask yourself, placing faith in God to accomplish what exactly?

Please read Romans 1 to 16 when you can.

If you are reading from a translation that is neither KJV or NKJV then many things will be misinterpreted...check Luke 17:21, if your copy says "amongst you" instead of "within you" please get another.
Come clean bro. Are you saying that "Once saved, always saved" is biblical?

its not their fault, it is the mentality that has been instilled in them. When a Jw reads the bible, his first thought is to look for watchtower's interpretation of the scriptures. They do no have a mind of their own, except what the watctower says. It happened to me.
Very bad. After the return from captivity, this same idea of leaders interpreting the Scriptures the way they like and then imposing their interpretations on the people was what led the Jews ultimately into misrepresentation of GOD's words/commands and thus into sin and rebellion against GOD. The ideas and traditions of men was erected against the pure, unbiased meaning of GOD's Word.(Mark 7:13).

May GOD help us.
