Even ur sense of shame is soooo drastically diminished that u nolonger care to pay attention to ur conscience wen commenting about Muslims! The courageous cleric in this case only advised and reminded the gov that he is a govnor and not some street touts ! Unlike Pastor Sulieman who reined causes and wishes death upon Elrufai, this exemplary muslim cleric only admonished the desperate govnor to get hold of himself and not to throw caution in d wind! I think u shud stop being shamelessly prejudiced and advice ur pastors to take cue from the Muslim cleric! Be reminded that Ur shamelessness is not in anyway beneficial to d integrity of ur religion!

I am a victim of dat unfateful day feb.29.. I did my exam wit ease i finished all my maths q. Without skipping any,d same way it goes wit d oda subjects. I was dead sure dat i have made a killing bc i ave laboured hard for dat day.bt after seeing dat cursed text from jamb i became saddness personified and disconcerted.i was given 190 at first and later 230..last year wen i sat 4 jamb i didnt finish b4 tym i still had 254 bt dis year dat i finished to my satisfaction and was anticipatin notin less dan 300+ i was gvin 190 and a compensating marks of 40.hmmmmm if u knw hw sad i am ryt naw u will cry 4 me.jamb as a board made my effort to b wasted. I chose unilag and i nid high marks to b able to compete wit my other competitors bt no,competin wit dem is a risky risk bc they ave more edges dan i do...if rectification is nat made i pray to GOD dat he shud make jamb witness retrogression cos dat is wat dey want 4 me, may everyone of ur children be deprived of success 4 u ave daggerd my heart and d rest of d candidates heart,u made us worthless and unserious in d eyes of our parents...may u b looked wit contempt except if proper rectification is made..

Two things appeared in my mind while reading this post

1. They might have resorted to this medium inorder to escape the security situation in the country

2. Maybe they want to rob their neighborhood to eck a living out of the mess the country has been plunged into due to both the mess of previous government and failure of the present government to give investors roadmap into where to invest in.

In all, RIP to the dead and I hope the living learn from their death.

I am not sure the CBN sells dollars directly to banks arbitrarily.

The dollars allocated to DMBs are based on customer requirements which the banks will have to show evidence to the CBN. Such requirements include approved LCs, BTA, Medical bills, school fees, etc. So, all dollars given to banks already have pre-determined purposes.

The bank is most likely sourcing extra dollars from independent & unconventional sources and will transfer this cost to the customer. If they do not do what they are doing now, then you may not even be able to use your cards for international payments because the banks won't have dollars to clear that transaction. Maybe then you will be begging to pay N350.

The major problem I see here is when the banks are buying dollars from customers. They pay less than N197 and yet will sell that same dollars to another customer at N285. As long as the huge divergence exist between the official and black market rates, this arbitrage will continue.

What the CBN needs to do is to devalue the official rate to anywhere between N230 - N250 and that will narrow the gap between the two markets. Pending that, the banks will continue their roundtripping and there's nothing you can do about it. Have you wondered why the CBN is not saying anything about the matter? Or do you think they are not aware?
