“I’m pregnant,” she had planned not telling him yet, but found herself doing so.
“You’re what?”
She said again, “I’m pregnant,”
Stanley let go of her hand, remembering the many times they had had sex. “We-weeks—how many weeks?” he asked, shakily.
“A month,” Arabel replied. “I’d known about it for a while but didn’t want to say.”
Stanley’s jaw dropped. “A month?” he was shaken. “No, we can’t keep this baby,” he said in a serious tone. “We really can’t.”
Arabel was lost. “B-but why?” she could see the love in his eyes had disappeared. “Did you not think about this before…”
“We just can’t!” he didn’t let her finish. “Cause, Arabel, I’m betrothed.” he finally let out.

I’d thought he was cracking his usual jokes. Laughing stupidly and hitting his hand, I looked up at him, and said, “Oh, baby. You’re funny.”
He gave no smile.
“Oh, you’re serious?” I was feeling like I was going to faint, nauseous at the same time. Whoa—everything went blank.

“You okay?”
I woke up to worried, familiar eyes, as I groaned, making to get up.
“Stay down, baby. I’ll call the doctor now.”
I realized it was mom.
Stanley must have brought me here—the realization of what had gone on struck me.
A doctor came in next, followed by my mom, then Sylvia, as I wondered what was wrong, seeing the expression on their faces.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Mom infiltrated the silence. “You have to remove it.”
I was lost for words. “No.” I found my voice, feeling the pain of having to abort my own child. “No, mom. I won’t abort this child.”
“Do you see him here?”
Mom looked under the bed as Sylvia made to my side. “Arabel, you really have to listen to your mother,”
“Don’t touch me!” I remembered the awful way she treated me, looking up at her. “Oh, now you want to talk to me? Because I’m all miserable and stuck with a child the father doesn’t even want?”
“Ar…”
“No, leave me.” I wanted to leave that place but got stopped instead.
The doctor checked me, saying I needed to rest.
Wanting to remove the drip and be out in no time, I felt my stomach tighten, as the awful feeling held me down and I burst into tears, accepting the truth.

Lol. One reason I prefer writing short stories cx I lose motivation easily when writing novels.

Look at it this way, it doesn’t matter if you tell your story to multitudes, one satisfied reader is worth more than millions of look and look and pass but eventually through consistency, your one satisfied reader would grow and there you have yourself a base of readers. Consistency is the key ajeh.

Shebi I’m always reading your content and always try to motivate you, and you’d be there acting like a snub. Like say you know see comments and mentions.

Parked and paid the gate fare and headed inside. All four of us, we got a sunshed rented and sat. Una know as woman dey do when dem commot go chill with person, these girls excused themselves and went ahead and started taking pictures. I asked Niggaboi what the four one one was and he just asked me to calm okay na. The girls came back and settled with us. We bought drinks and rolled up loud and all of us smoked up. Before one or two, some beach boys joined us but it was a fun day. Coming to the beach, i wanted to test the authenticity of the soap if it worked or not. Ofcourse i knew it would work but i wanted to be sure. These hoes were just a side traction and nothing serious. We hanged out at the beach till around 6pm. It was pretty relaxing and there were days like that even. Left the beach to the club, this hoes still gummed us to the club. A look at Niggaboi, so unreadable but i knew he was up to something. All the while, i had completely forgotten that the soap only helped me not to bark only during the day so I completely lost track of time. 11am we left the club but by that time i knew i had to get home at any moment as i was more conscious of the time and oh shit.

These Hoes still gum bodied me and followed us to the carpark which kinda indicated that they’d follow us home. Inside the club earlier Niggaboi and i had switched car keys. The girls sat in the car waiting for me to come and occupy the driver seat and drive of. I went over to where Nighaboi’s lexus was, got inside it and drove off. I just had to go home or be home before twelve am that night/morning. Well i thought maybe what he meant by teaching them a lesson that he mentioned was sexually related since the girls expected to go home with me in my Suv but insted, they were left alone with Niggaboi in my Suv. I got to my house not just in time as expected, i got home. Little past twelve. Omo i no go lie you, i Bark overnight ni o. The next day right after i fixed myself up on the bath, Niggaboi came to my house with my Suv. O teased him about bed wrecking does hoes yesterday at the lodge where he took them to. He said they didn’t even make it to his lodge with him. I asked him to explain in detail, and his reply was. He told them to get off at third mainland bridge and they didn’t want to saying he had no right as it wasn’t his car and that no sensible guy would ask ladies to get out of the car at that time of the day. He said he then dragged one of them down, the other followed suit and he beat the shot out of the two of them. I got downstairs and made. To drive out, the girls bag and phones were exactly where they must have left it the previous night, on my car seat.

I forgot to say, Niggaboi fixed the Lexus that He previously crashed. But he told me of how he had his eyes on my type of Suv, i told him not to worry about it because i was paying the price for such a sleek expensive ride and for sure it gave me all the levels and attention I didn’t bargain for and I’d mention respect too but then, it came at a price. I made him understand that I’d trade The Benz and all the other vanities i had acquired for peace of mind, peace of mind even if it was only for one day. A day of peace. I told him, could trade all that stuff for the life Niggaboi lived even if it was a life of crime but atleast he had peace of mind and could travel, have kids etc. we spoke about about these before I noticed the pata nla girls that we previously encountered. One of the Pata nla aproached our table and just ignored Niggaboi completely and spoke to me direct in. A way that i got thinking if they remembered the events of the night they disappeared after we left the hospital and i was on seizures. This werey fat yanch even do like say anything (that’s good anyway i thought). The fat yanch asked if we could hangout together that day and pointed to her friend, the other fat yanch. I asked her why she wasn’t saying hi to Niggaboi atleast they both know him. Then she said a watery ‘hi’ to him and i said ok that me and Niggaboi was in the middle of something before she cut us short and that she should go back to her seat and that when we are ready we’ll signal them. She said okay and left. I asked Niggaboi whatsup and he said ‘no problem’ okay then i thought. E no even tey e be like say the fat yanch wey come follow me reason go tell the other one say i say make dem join our table. Na so dem park all their stuffs on the other table come join out own table. girls sha!

Me and Nighaboi couldn’t continue our conversation like we were doing. Like this girls came and took over our own table for us completely ignoring Nighaboi still but dude kept his cool. They kept giving me attention and directing their discussion to me alone. It was time to go al of us, the girls made it seem like they were for me and me alone. We approached the parking lot, i Made for my Benzo and Niggaboi to his 2010 Rx350 suv. Well that got head turning but then the fat yanches still decided i had more levels and they both came and sat with me in my car. Before i drove away from the parking lot, Niggaboi had sent me a text and asked where we were headed, i told him we’d just go chill out at the beach and shii. Asked about the siezure again i told him not to worry okay he said. Then he gave me intel that he’d like to deal with those girls. Okay comrade. Zoom zoom, Atican Beach Ajah.
