A man who drove past a fatally injured woman on the side of the road in China found out later that she was his mother. https://naijaparrot.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/09/Mr-Zhang_1_3260359b-300x187.jpg The man, surnamed Zhang from Nanling county in the eastern province of Anhui, was driving to meet his mother when he passed a bloodied elderly woman lying in the road. After arriving at his mother’s house and realizing she was out, he rushed back to the scene, only to discover the terrible truth. Mr Zhang called an ambulance but his mother died from her injuries on the way to the hospital. Police later found a driver who admitted to the hit-and-run. “My car does not have a dashboard recorder, so I didn’t stop,” Mr Zhang said, according to Anhui Business Daily. Drivers or passersby in China are hesitant about helping strangers in need. In recent years there have been reports of money being extorted from the “good Samaritans” by the very people they try to assist. With limited government health insurance, those unfortunate enough to get into accidents can face medical bills beyond their means. Last year, a man Wu Weiqing killed himself after the family of an injured elderly man he stopped to help accused him of knocking down the pensioner and demanded Mr Wu foot the bill. There was another gruelling and now infamous case in 2011 in which 18 people passed a little child Wang Yue as she lay in the street after being hit by a car. Although someone eventually stopped to help, the two-year-old girl died of her injuries. The Oba of Lagos has really done a good job for Jimi Agbaje. Note that while the Oba was making the alleged anti - Igbo statements, the Igbo leaders who visited the Oba were applauding him in the video and that should tell us that there is more to it. If I am correct, till now, none of the Igbo leaders who visited the Oba has come out to criticise or clarify what Oba really meant. Remember that this same Oba is related to Jimi Agbaje. Besides, after so much pleas from the APC Lagos and National leaders to enable this Oba to endorse Buhari's presidential candidacy during the presidential campaign, he (the Oba) stubbornly refused to endorse. Then how can the Oba become a spokesman for APC? |
The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) Action Group has said Governor Ayo Fayose has not learnt any lesson from his first impeachment from office in 2006. The group in a statement on Tuesday by its spokesman Segun Dipe said the latest crisis rocking the state could be traced to the governor’s penchant for illegalities since coming back to power in October last year. The APC Action Group who said “Fayose must do equity before asking for equity” wondered why he (Fayose) had been crying foul when he himself was impunity-personified. The body argued that Fayose cannot at this point be talking about law and legality, which he had dealt a big blow by his many constitutional infringements. The group thus urged all Ekiti sons and daughters to ignore Fayose’s false alarm and see his looming impeachment as good riddance to bad rubbish. “Ekiti is bigger than Fayose and Fayose, Mr. Impunity is unfit to govern Ekiti State,” it added. It slammed the governor for allegedly whipping up sentiments regarding his looming impeachment while featuring on his monthly media chat, Meet Your Governor. The statement read in part: “Or has he forgotten that the G19 APC lawmakers that he has been hounding from performing their legislative functions were also duly elected representatives of their people? “It is laughable for Fayose to have described as illegal the notice of gross misconduct and abuse of office issued to him by the Honourable Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin and the group of 19 APC lawmakers. “He said a case was in court regarding the position of the speaker. But he has forgotten that even his position as governor is suffering illegitimacy. Vowing to resist impeachment and asking the people of Ekiti to fight for him is therefore an empty threat. “Fayose has further threatened to block all roads leading to Ekiti as a way of disallowing the group of 19 from carrying out their normal legislative duties. What is that if not an abuse of office? “Fayose’s government is that of terror and impunity, which is built on quicksand. “If he is lamenting that he would be impeached for a second time, following that of 2006, it then means that he has not learnt any lesson from the first impeachent and cannot learn anything from this one.” SOURCE : http://thenationonlineng.net/new/apc-action-group-fayose-has-not-learnt-any-lesson/ |
■ How a teacher’s turning of mathematical concepts into rap songs made all his students to pass WAEC math exam, with distinction BY SAM OTTI When Dr. Dikeoha Okwu, an Enugu-based mathematician, introduced a simplified way of teaching mathematics in school, called Dikeohamatics, he was mocked by cynics. His hope of making Dikeohamatics something of a game for mathematics-scared students floundered because of lack of support from his fatherland. However, the mathematics teacher of Loral International Boarding School, Igbesa, Ogun State, Mr Anyanwu Emmanuel Obioha, has proved that the teaching, and learning of mathematics, can be made fun, like Okwu tried to do with Dikeohamatics. His introduction of humour in his mathematics class has become, not only something of success therapy to his students, but has also helped them to bring laurels to the school. Although Anyanwu confessed, in a chat with Education Review, that he’d never heared of Dikeohamatics that turned mathematics into fun, all the same, he was quick to admit that his use of song/humour in teaching the subject has been highly effective. Reports indicate that most students develop phobia for mathematics because of the nebulous teaching methods of subject teachers. The efficacy of employing song and humour to teach the subject is now underscored by the wonderful results posted by the students of Loral International Boarding Secondary School, Igbesa, Ogun State, in the 2014 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). As a matter of fact, all the 65 candidates that sat for the subject came out in flying colours. While 42 had A1, 18 B2, five had B3. There was no ordinary pass result or failure in the subject. Comparing this remarkable achievement with the mass failure recorded nationwide, in which only 31% of the candidates obtained five credits including English and Mathematics makes the result more commendable. According to West African Examination Council (WAEC), only 529, 425 students (31.28 per cent) obtained five credits including English and Mathematics. WAEC candidates had not fared better in previous years either. For example, in 2012 WASSCE, 649,156 candidates (38.81 per cent) had credits in the two core subjects. That record was even poorer in 2013 when 610,334 (36.57 per cent) of the candidates obtained five credits including English Language and Maths while the record declined more in 2014 WASSCE when 529,425 candidates, representing 31.28 per cent, recorded five credits in the two important subjects. At the FESTAC campus of the school, performance in mathematics was also commendable. Out of the 45 students that sat for the exam, two had A1, four B2, 25 B3, nine C4, five C5, while one made C6. As is the case with the result of their counterparts at Igbesa, there was no failure in the subject. When Education Review asked Anyanwu the teaching methodology he used in producing the amazing result in the subject, he said: “In the country today, comedy is reigning. Music is reigning. When I am teaching, I use what I call ‘Mathsmusic.’ By it, I turn into rap songs or music those mathematical concepts I know they will find difficult to understand when I am teaching. If they are having a programme now and the students have the opportunity to mimic the teachers, that’s one of the areas that they mimic me.” He said he found out that students often have problem of manipulating minus and plus operations, a problem that cuts across all mathematics levels. So, he formed rap songs for different mathematical formulas and presented them in class while teaching. One of the rap songs goes like this: Plus and minus operation Take away the smaller from the bigger And give your result the sign of the bigger Anyanwu said students from JS1 to SS3, have become quite familiar with the song, noting that they will never forget it in a hurry throughout their lifetime. Another of the ‘mathsmusic’ rap songs goes like this: When a minus sign comes before a bracket All the signs, all the signs, all the signs will change to the opposite sign He continued: “Students dance to it. These are the ways I coin music on different topics and formulas to carry them along. Also in the teaching of bearing, there is what I call ‘widow/widower relationship’ that teaches them how to use sign and cause.” Anyanwu said that teachers should be flexible in their use of teaching methodologies in order to attract and hold students’ attention. “There are some teachers that are naturally made to impart knowledge,” he observed. “If you made first class in mathematics, it is not a guarantee that you can impart the knowledge of the subject very well. Somebody with third class in mathematics may end up being a more effective and more successful teacher in it than a first class holder. Some people are made to teach; others acquire the knowledge but are not cut out for teaching.” Anyanwu, a pioneer graduate of mathematics from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, describes himself as a natural comedian. “Sometimes people ask me, ‘what are you doing in the classroom? This is not your area. Your area is in the entertainment industry where people are making lots of money through comedy,’ he said. “I know that my students need comedy in class and I found out that they are excited each time I enter their class. It is difficult not to pay attention because they will be expecting some jokes/songs from me.” The man, who has taught mathematics for over 20 years, said his songs/jokes work perfectly well as an attention-sustaining device in class as well as cures students of phobia for the subject. “When I throw a joke at them, they would laugh and laugh,” he recalled. “Then I would proceed with my lesson. I know they would be waiting for the next thing I would say. Although they would wish the joke or song continued, since I am there to impart knowledge as a teacher, I would use that opportunity to introduce what I have for them that moment. I would tell them: ‘let me just finish this calculation and I will tell you the rest of the story or sing to you the rest of the song.’ They would be all ears waiting to know what happens next. You would discover that the attention level would be higher that when you had not introduced any joke or song. I also learnt that if I promised to tell them the rest of the story, I must not fail them.” The mathematics teacher told Education Review that children naturally love entertainment, so he uses the jokes/song baits to catch them. He said he selects suitable jokes/songs that would help him achieve a desirable purpose. Although he makes good use of humour, that doesn’t prevent him from disciplining erring students. “Everything is designed to get their attention. If I do all these things and I find someone doing a different thing, not in agreement with what is expected from them, of course, I usually punish such students,” he said. “It is a taboo not to have your materials in my class. If I give you an assignment, you must do it. ” Although the students excelled in math and in the sciences, the Senior Principal, Ezinne Mariam Uzuegbunam, said the teachers would not rest on their oars. According to her, success comes only through hard work and diligence in studies. To sustain the students’ interest in the sciences, the school recently organized a Technology/Business Day to sensitize them on the importance of science. An SS 2 student of the school, Titiloye Tayo, discussed several ways that technology would change the world by 2025. According to him, conventional teaching would be phased out, as online courses for students take over at all levels of education. He believes that digital textbooks, interactive books and social media would usher in a new world of learning that would change the world forever. In a related development, Mrs Toyin Nwosu, the amiable wife of Mr. Steve Nwosu, Executive Director, Corporate Services of The Sun Publishing Ltd, demonstrated her passion for music recently, during an open dancing funfair for mothers at the Loral International Nursery and Primary School, Igbesa, Ogun State. Mrs Nwosu, an esteemed guest at the 26th annual inter-house sporting fest of the school, spiced up the fest as the mother-of-the-day. Her husband, Steve, though absent as the father-of-the day at the colourful event, had, in his wife, a worthy representative. Dressed in Real Madrid sports’ wear, Mrs Nwosu scored the winning goal of the tournament with a scintillating performance on the dance floor. As an annual ritual, the school had invited parents to the dance floor to compete for prizes to round off the sports fest. The bounden duty of leading the womenfolk fell on Mrs Nwosu, the mother-of-the-day. It was a task she executed enthusiastically as she sprang to her feet and pleaded with the DJ not to spoil their performance with old music. The choice of ‘Sekem’ and ‘Dorobuci’ songs was a prayer answered, as she and other excited women dug their feet into the grassy field, bending and twisting their flexible bodies to the sound of the music. Other guests watched with awe, while clapping and yelling for the queen of the dance floor. The women’s knowledge of the ‘Dorobuci’ song became clear when some of the young mothers in the dance train started miming the song line by line. One of the parents, who gave his name as Mike, said a fair assessment of the women’s performances would evidently crown the mother-of-the-day as the best dancer. The thrilling performance of the women sent a strong message to the men, who instructively settled for an ‘old school’ music to save their faces. The sight of pot-bellied daddies panting on the dance floor threw the guests into laughter. It was a glorious moment for the Loral Managing Director, Chief Crawford Ndukwe, who led the dance for men. Teachers and parents joined the dance train, struggling with their steps and dragging their legs slowly to the finish line. The sports event was a spectacular moment for the pupils of the school, who competed for various prizes in field and track events under the watchful eyes of the officers of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. The pupils also participated in the swimming competition held at their multi-million naira ultra-modern swimming pool. Addressing the guests, the Headmistress of the Festac Town campus of the school, Ezinne Cecilia Elendu, emphasised the need for regular exercises for parents, to help them keep fit. According to her, clapping of hands and cheering at the performance of athletes constitute an exercise that would keep the body in a good shape. Elendu said Loral School organise the annual sports fest among four Blue, Red, Green and Yellow houses to teach the importance of sports in child training and development. She said sports complements academics in total child development. “In Loral School, we train the total child and leaders of tomorrow,” she remarked. “We train children to exhibit their God-endowed talents and potentials. In today’s world, many people, both men and women, have achieved success and fame through sports.” Elendu noted that academic excellence should not be seen as the only parameters for success in life. According to her, several sports men and women conquered the world with their skills, acquiring, in the process, fame, fortune and self-actualisation. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) staff of electoral breaches during the March 28 National Assembly elections in Abia State. In a petition to the INEC signed by its Vice Chairman, South East, Uchenna Okogbuo, the party alleged that massive fraudulent practices were perpetrated by INEC staff, the PDP, policemen and soldiers during the exercise. The APC alleged that policemen and soldiers and PDP thugs forcefully snatched ballot boxes and manhandled voters, APGA agents and unwilling electoral officers. The party alleged that the transition committee chairmen in the state took the result sheets to unknown locations where they completed them in the presence of intending voters and party agents. The party also alleged that in most polling units, PDP thugs with the assistance of policemen chased away agents of other political parties, adding that voting did not take place in most polling units in the state but that results were declared in respect of the units. APGA also alleged improper collation of votes in the state, saying that when voting ended the party agents asked for the results but the electoral officers called in policemen and soldiers who forcefully took the electoral materials to unknown places. In view of these, the party urged INEC not to use local government offices in the state as collation centres in Saturday’s elections. They party urged the commission to use neutral public places. It also advised the commission to ensure that local government transition committee chairmen do not have access to collation centres. The party called for the suspension or redeployment of council electoral officers in the state, asking the INEC to send a special team to monitor the coming gubernatorial election in the state. https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Pastor-Bassey-James-331x336.jpg *On Jonathan’s second coming, prophets massively goof BY TOPE ADEBOBOYE They walk with a rambunctious swagger, flaunting themselves as the quintessential mouthpieces of the Almighty. Across the land and beyond, not a few have accepted them as modern day Nostradamuses – the ones that see tomorrow with bewildering precision. To their followers, they are the progeny of the prophets of yore. And indeed, like the seers of yesteryears, these highly venerated Christian prophets would never shy away from dishing out prophecies and predictions on every major issue, especially on the Nigerian political landscape, claiming to have heard directly from the throne of the God. A prophet, says Wikipedia, the online free encyclopaedia, “is an individual who is claimed to have been contacted by the supernatural or the divine, and to speak for them, serving as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this newfound knowledge from the supernatural entity to other people.” One major issue on which God allegedly spoke through many of these prophets was the second term ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan. Like a furious surge of water tumbling down a cascade, predictions and prophetic declarations poured forth from the mouths of many a prophet, affirming with finality that President Jonathan had been divinely declared winner of the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria. They told Nigerians that those seeking to contest the presidency with the incumbent were merely wasting their time, as Jonathan’s victory had been signed and sealed right from the throne of the Almighty. https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Prophet-Iginla-300x199.jpg With the president losing the elections, many Nigerians cannot but wonder if these ‘seers’ actually saw beyond their immediate vicinities. Or did they confuse some inner voices speaking from the depths of their own souls with the voice of God? Brother Joshua Iginla is the General Overseer of Champions Royal Assembly, Abuja. The renowned cleric is credited to have made many predictions that have eventually come to pass. His followers said he accurately predicted the impeachment of the former Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako, the crash of the military helicopter in Bama and the outbreak of the Ebola virus, among others. On the chances of President Jonathan in the 2015 election, Brother Iginla was unequivocal. Hear him: “The truth about the whole matter is that, Jonathan is going to win the whole elections and there is no doubt about it. It is not because Jonathan is the perfect man, but I think the unity of Nigeria is most important. I thank God for the opposition party because they are going to do well but they are not the dream party that God will raise to take the ‘baton’ from PDP. Indeed, time would come that PDP would crumble but it has not come to the time. For now, the years ahead would still be held by the same person in power.” Did the seer see correctly? Absolutely not. He’s way off the mark, as the president has lost the election, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Another very active prophet in the Jonathan-will-be-president-again prediction series is the General Overseer of Revolution Fire Christian Ministry Incorporation, Prophet Emmanuel Ezenwa Nwazuo. Nwazuo, an evangelist and prolific writer, had allegedly predicted correctly that Jonathan would be president in 2011. This year again, the cleric said he had also been informed by God that Jonathan would win a second term. “I am not the one saying it; it is a revelation from God,” said the prophet. “I see President Jonathan winning the 2015 election with a landslide but the All Progressives Congress (APC) will revolt. I heard it very clear and simple. When I prophesied the death of Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, many Igbo people were calling for my head. Then he was not sick. When he became sick, people said he would survive, but I insisted he was going to die. I put them in writing whenever God shows me anything. Jonathan is going to win again but with what God is showing me, he may not finish his term because there is going to be a lot of happenings. I am repeating it: I saw President Jonathan winning the presidential election with a landslide. There is not going to be a run-off.” Prophet Olaniyi Odutayo of the World Prophetic Church, Ikeja, Lagos, was also absolutely unambiguous in his declaration that President Goodluck Jonathan would prevail in the presidential polls. The man of God, after concluding a 40-day praying and fasting session in March, last year, told Daily Independent, a Nigerian newspaper, that God had told him that Jonathan would remain in power till 2019. “During the prayer/fasting, the Lord showed me three men trying to bury Goodluck Jonathan. Each one of them was trying to bury him one after the other, but as they push his head down, he rises up again. When the third man pushed his head down, he thought he had prevailed, he was already jubilating (sic) but suddenly Goodluck rose up. I believe this vision is telling us that the President will have three contenders in the coming election but he will prevail. No matter how tough it seems, President Goodluck will rule come 2015. The upcoming election will be very tough for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but they will win the presidency.” General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, aka Liberation City, Dr. Chris Okafor was more than emphatic in his prophecy that President Jonathan would remain in Aso Rock until 2019. The cleric, who is addressed by many as Oracle of God, is said to have made many predictions that have come to pass. On who would win the 2015 presidential contest in Nigeria, Dr Okafor did not mince his words. Hear him: “God spoke to me exclusively that the current president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan will be Nigeria’s president after 2015 general elections. There will be a lot of battle. There will be a lot of betrayals. There will be a lot of court cases concerning his election, but at the end of the day, he will still remain the president because God showed me specifically that he has been ordained to run for two terms. “God has already declared it to me. Mark what I said. If it does not come to pass, know I’m not called of God. In the second term of President Goodluck Jonathan, there will be a lot of transformation, despite battles from the opposition. Then after Jonathan’s second term, the APC will take over.” Pastor Bassey James is the Senior Pastor of the Royal House of Faith Ministry, Lagos. And what did the prophet’s God tell him about Jonathan’s chances in 2015? On several occasions, and in very clear cadences, Pastor James averred that God told him that Jonathan would not only win the election, but would do so with a very wide margin. Said the man of God: “Lots of people have given predictions that something terrible will happen to Jonathan and that he will not win the 2015 presidential election. But Jonathan is God-sent and, therefore, will win the 2015 contest with a very wide margin. He will overcome all the political and economic issues. “Amidst all the crisis in the country, the president will come out stronger. Jonathan will win more in the South West and in the North, and all regions will vote for Jonathan. Those who are making contrary prophecies are merely expressing wrong political calculations based on political happenings in the country. Such people should re-define their calling because they are prophesying based on party lines. Jonathan will win 2015 election overwhelmingly, and God will back him up.” The prophecies of Prophet Paul Okikijesu, Founder and General Overseer of Christ Apostolic Miracle Ministry appears quite scary for Jonathan. God’s message to the prophet was quite different from what God told his fellow prophets. Said the prophet, quoting God: “If Jonathan believes fully that all power belongs to Me and nobody has power except God, then he will win the presidential election. But within six months after the election, he will be ambushed. “Jonathan will only rule for one year after his swearing-in-ceremony because people will poison him whereby he will be sick and die on the throne/seat. If they did not succeed, then there will be physical confrontation to terminate his life and these are the reasons why he has to surrender his life and heart totally to Me, says the Lord.” Prophet Michael Olubode aka Micadeolu of Celestial Church of Christ also insisted that President Jonathan would remain in Aso Rock for another term. Said the prophet: “I want to let the people of Nigeria know that the Lord will return His Excellency, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to his presidential seat. Despite many hatred for him, it pleases the Lord God of Celestial to increase his tenure at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock. The Lord revealed to me that the purpose of making him remain in government is to use him to build Nigeria’s economy. He will surely bring good luck to us.” Apostle John Suleiman is the founder of Auchi, Delta State-based Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide. His prophecy about Jonathan was quite terse. “I see President Goodluck Jonathan coming back, but troubles,” the cleric declared. A popular Ghanaian cleric and senior pastor at Wonder City Chapel, Accra, Ghana, Apostle B.B. Frederick, also predicted the triumph of Jonathan in this year’s election. Said he: “As a man gifted by God to see the past, the current and the future beyond the curtains of the natural, I know by the inspiration of the Almighty that President Jonathan is the set man for Nigeria. His next term on the seat will bring liberation to Nigeria. It will bring hope to hopeless situations in Nigeria. On this account I therefore declare that His Excellency, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will win the coming elections.” For his ability to predict situations with amazing exactitude, Prophet Cletus Chukwuwuba Ilongwo of the Holy Spirit Evangelical Ministry, Abule Ado, Lagos, has been given many sobriquets and nicknames. These include Obo Oku Jesus, and Oje Na Muo Jesus, Flame of Fire, the seer and the Vision Holder of the Power, among others. His prophecy on Jonathan’s second term victory was declared with downright certitude. Hear him: “Just like I always say, President Goodluck Jonathan is good for Nigeria. He is the Nigerian President ordained by God and not by man. By the next election, Goodluck will surely win again. God has sealed it; nobody can change it. No demon or man can change it. Quote me, by next March election, Goodluck will be the President again.” Rev. Dr. Francis Eze, Senior Pastor, Greater Grace and Fire Assembly, Onitsha said God told him that Jonathan would get a second term. “Goodluck Jonathan is trying and it is God that sent him at this point in time but some don’t know,” he noted. “What I received by revelation is that APC cannot form the government at the centre now. Let them wait until the young man finishes his second tenure, because their time will come.” SOURCE : http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=113037 |
Breathing is so fundamental to being alive, yet not many people think of this. It is only when we run out of breathe, perhaps after running, when inside water, or when there is no ventilation, that we remember how desperate we need this air (oxygen). Now, experts have discovered that how we breathe, whether shallow (chest breathing) or deeply (abdominal breathing), can determine how long and healthy we will live. This research, published in the journal of Chest, was carried out by researchers at the University at Buffalo, New York, USA. The researchers had carried out a 29 years study on the association between shallow breathing as a result of impaired lung function and mortality. The researchers discovered that the participants breathe the wrong way, using the muscles of their upper chest, neck and shoulders. As a result, they do not get all the needed oxygen for their brain and cells of the body. “Shallow breathing leaves a large amount of air in the lungs that has low level of oxygen and high level of carbon dioxide. The transfer of oxygen and carbon dioxide to and fro the blood is sharply reduced. The risk of death was increased for participants with moderately impaired lung function, “Dr. Schanemann said. The experts believe that our lungs efficiency is greatly reduced as we age because we inhale air pollution, dust, chemicals, and cigarette smoke. “This inefficiency in assimilating oxygen into the lungs greatly contributes to high blood pressure”, the research further said. However, a group of experts from various fields of studies have explained in a new book, Breath in Action, that learning to breathe properly, using our abdomen, will impact positively on our health, and reduce our stress levels. One of its co-editors, Jane Boston, senior voice practitioner at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, says that paying attention to your breathing can be the best preventative treatment for numerous health issues notably asthma and high blood pressure. “We tend to take sips of breath and hold it when we’re anxious, both of which can have a ripple effect through the system. One bad habit, like shallow breathing can make you more susceptible to lower back pain. “On a philosophical level, breathing properly helps to keep the mind open, enabling you to think about who you are, what and why you’re doing something. But primarily, if you breathe in the right way, you’ll have better digestion, your balance will be improved, and you’ll develop an optimum posture”, says Boston. Kate Mackenzie, an asthmatic patient, is completely in sync with this. According to her, she had been able to control her asthma attacks by breathing properly. “A few years ago, when I moved to London, I noticed my asthma would get much worse in the summer. I came across an article about controlling my asthma through breathing exercises and thought I’d give it a go,” says Kate. Every day for the next six months, Kate would lie down for 20 minutes and breathe deeply. “You have to make sure you’re breathing the right way,” she says, “with your stomach inflating as you breathe in, rather than your chest. I noticed the difference within a week and felt much better for a long time afterwards”, she said. Kate believes that the exercises had a long-term impact on her lung capacity and she now practices yoga regularly to maintain her breath and posture. For the average person without respiratory problems, daily yoga exercises are not necessary. Instead, Jane advocates that people should try to change the way they breathe in a more general sense. Experts believe that breathing from the abdomen is very important because the blood in the lowest part of the lungs is rich in oxygen. Abdominal breathing means breathing fully from your abdomen or from the bottom of your lungs. It is exactly the reverse of the way you breathe when you’re anxious or tense, which is typically shallow and high in your chest. If you’re breathing from your abdomen, you can place your hand on your abdomen and see it actually rise each time you inhale. To practice abdominal breathing, follow these steps: 1. Place one hand on your abdomen right beneath your rib cage 2. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose into the bottom of your lungs. Your chest should move only slightly while your stomach rises, pushing your hand up. 3. When you’ve inhaled fully, pause for a moment and then exhale fully through your mouth. Purse your lips and imagine that you are blowing on a hot spoonful of soup. As you exhale, just let yourself go and imagine your entire body going loose and limp. It should take you twice as long to exhale as it did to inhale. 4. In order to fully relax, take and release ten abdominal breaths. Try to keep your breathing smooth and regular throughout, without gulping in a big breath or exhaling suddenly. A group of youths in Rivers State at the weekend found some people believed to be officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) thumb printing ballot papers in Khana, a community in Ogoniland. The officials are believed to be carrying out the act to justify the results posted for the National Assembly elections. A source said: “One of the officials disclosed that the action was arrived at to justify the results tendered and provide evidence in preparation for tribunal.” The youths later handed over the materials seized from the officials to Senator Magnus Abe, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers South-East Senatorial candidate. Abe, at a news conference yesterday which was also attended by the Director-General of the Greater Tomorrow Campaign Organisation, Victor Giadom, urged the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) unit of the police to investigate and prosecute the INEC officials and policemen involved in the act. Abe said: “As you can see before me are INEC ballot papers from Khana. At about 12noon (Thursday), youths stumbled on some INEC officials in their office in Bori, where they brought in presiding officers and supervisors to thumbprint ballot papers and doctored results all in favour of PDP. “I called the Area Commander, Bori and the DPO who told me the INEC officials were in Bori to collect their stipends on the last elections; I called CP Karma, who asked me to report the matter to the CID; I decide to inform the Nigerian public before proceeding to the police CID.” Abe urged INEC chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega to redeploy the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Gesila Khan, before next Saturday’s elections “for showing executive recklessness in collaboration with PDP and the police”. He also called for the cancellation of the “concocted elections, because the votes counted in favour of the PDP were not cast by Rivers people”. The General Overseer of Faith and Victory Church, Akure, has predicted that Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State and his counterpart in Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, will be impeached from office before the end of this year. Prophet Oladipo, who predicted the victory of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Mohammadu Buhari, said both Mimiko and Fayose have limited days left to spend in office as governors of their respective states. In an exclusive interview with Sunday Sun, Prophet Oladipo insisted that Fayose would be impeached in six month’s time and his Ondo State counterpart in December this year. According to him, Governor Mimiko had disappointed God who put him in the office and as such no amount of prayer could forestall his removal before the end of this year. His words: “God has revealed to me that Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, will be impeached before the end of this year. Fayose will be sent packing from the government house before the end of this year.” “I predicted that Fayose would win the governorship election in Ekiti State and he won. But this time around, God has said that he would be impeached from office and there is nothing he can do to prevent the fulfillment of that prediction. Either he agrees with me or not, Fayose is going to be impeached because God has said it,” he stressed. He, however, advised Mimiko to be prayerful to avert the looming impeachment. He said: “If Mimiko can pray very well, God can still have mercy on him because he is a beloved child of the Almighty God. But if he fails to pray, he will be impeached before December this year.” SOURCE : http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=112909 |

Kelechi Nwagwu is a medical doctor-turned-politician. He is the national coordinator, South-East Professionals for Buhari. He had a personal encounter with Buhari in Abuja 2011 during the CPC national stakeholders meeting. He was then a member of the national consultative forum of the party. Since then, he has always admired him and supported his political ambition. He did a lot of articles in the media in that regard to support him in 2011. His words: “After the emergence of APC and Buhari’s desire to run again for president, I reached out to other like-minded professionals and together we activated the group and started canvassing support for him. We saw him then and now as the type of leader Nigeria deserves, a strong leader that will tackle corruption head-on. We resolved to pass this message across the zone and beyond. Now that he has won the battle to become the next president on May 29, 2015, we resolved again to congratulate him on emerging victorious in the hard fought battle. It is a well deserved victory.” Dr. Nwagwu and his group believe that the zone got its political calculations wrong by not voting Buhari and APC in the last week’s Presidential and National Assembly elections. They want the zone to re-strategize and join the government at the centre by voting for APC in April 11, 2015 elections especially returning Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha. This, according to him, is to make sure that the zone is not left out in the political and economic leadership of the country now and beyond 2019. Nwagwu spoke to OBIDIKE JERRY. Excerpts: So, how do you see his performance in the South-East in the just concluded presidential election where he did not score up to 25 per cent in any of the South-East states? We tried our best to make sure he got a better performance but we saw the way and manner the election was conducted in the zone, the supposed failure of the card readers and the resort to manual accreditation and the expected shortfalls, and the not too professional activities of men in uniform. Remember that at a point the governor raised alarm that almost all his commissioners were kept under house arrest. All these contributed to the poor performance of APC in the last elections. However, the election is over and the candidate we supported has won. But let me put on record that the figures that came out or emanated from the region were not true reflection of the situation on ground. I wouldn’t want us to begin to flog a dead horse, we should rather concentrate on the governorship and house of assembly elections coming up on Saturday, April 11, 2015. This time we want the region to get its political calculation and permutation right. Igbo should re-strategized and join the government at the centre by ensuring that they vote for APC candidates in the elections especially Governor Rochas Okorocha. We have made the mistake of not voting for APC candidates in the last elections. Effectively, we don’t have any senator or house of representative member although we still have unconcluded elections in that regard. Talking about returning Gov. Rochas Okorocha, it is in our strategic political interest to have an APC governor for future political calculations. When Gen. Buhari completes his tenure in 2019 or thereabout, the Igbo might stand a chance of winning the APC ticket for the presidential race. On Nigerians expectations of Buhari now that he has won? I have always believed he would do the much he said he was going to do. If you followed his campaign across the country, he concentrated on three issues mainly. He spoke about security especially in the north eastern part of the country, that is, Boko Haram. After he received his certificate of return recently from INEC, he still emphasized that Boko Haram will be decimated very soon. He spoke about the economy especially with regard to infrastructure and job creation. He also spoke about waging war against corruption. We believe him because in his first coming, he showed the way in tackling indiscipline and corruption. And want to emphasize what I have said severally in other fora that leaders should lead by example. And when you do that, you will discover that followers will take a cue from that. If the problem of corruption is tackled, a lot of money will be freed to deploy to other areas of need in the country including agriculture, health care, education, etc. Regarding the South-East, I had already tweeted to him. The second Niger Bridge is very dear to us. In the tweet, I urge him to cancel any project based on public private partnership where there’s going to be tolling. Such a contract is not acceptable to South-East people. That project has to be 100 per cent funded by the Federal Government. I also spoke about the state of roads in the South-East. We deserve to have an east-west rail line and gas pipeline. This will revive a lot of industries in the southeast and help create employment. Do you think he will do all that considering the fact that he did not get much of Igbo votes? He did not get 25 per cent in SouthEast? I think he is intelligent enough to figure out what happened. I did not expect him to easily win South-East but certainly he would have done better especially in Imo State. Don’t tell me he would not have got 25 per cent if we had credible election there. So, I am sure he knows what the clear picture is. And he had already made his mission statement clear that nobody will be victimized on the basis of region, religion, gender and the rest. So, it will be un-presidential if he begins to treat regions according to how they voted. He has been elected as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria and he has to govern as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Going forward, what is your advice in terms of the composition of his government? We have the law called federal character, which makes it compulsory that every state must be represented in the cabinet. Beyond that I am sure that every part of the country will be carried along. I expect him to equally carry party people who worked for him along. Even if he wants to use technocrats, he can still find them among his party members. That is not to say he should not go beyond the party in constituting his cabinet. He should have a blend of politicians, professionals, and technocrats in his cabinet. His government should be an inclusive one. Well, it is prerogative but I am just talking as a leader of one the groups that supported him. SOURCE : http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=112718 |
The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), has congratulated President-elect, Gen Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd) on emerging victorious in last weekend’s presidential election, admitting that emergence of the All Progressive Congress (APC) president-elect was an act of God. While hinging his victory on his resilience and doggedness, during a press conference in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the campaign organisation cum Non-Governmental Organisation, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, appealed to all Nigerians to accept the outcome of the election as the will of God for Nigerians and lovers of democracy. According to him: “The much debated presidential election of 2015 has come and gone. Many people predicted violence. Other people and institutions posted that it will mark the beginning of the end of the entity called, Nigeria. To the glory of God, the election has come and gone without the expectations of doomsday soothsayers coming to pass. “We of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) express our gratitude to God and Nigerians. We appeal to all Nigerians to accept the outcome of the presidential election as the will of God, Nigerians and lovers of democracy. The 2015 presidential election has proven that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria. “We wish to congratulate the President-elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd.) on his consistency, persistence, doggedness and resilience since 2003 in his quest for the presidency of Nigeria. This shows that persistence on a mission yields success in the end. His courage will make a good case Study in the Universities all over the world,” Ubah noted. He equally commended President Goodluck Jonathan for laying the most solid foundation for the growth of democracy in Nigeria and Africa with his states-manly act of conceding defeat. THE VICE-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF APC PROF YEMI OSINBAJO Ordinarily you, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo should not have come up in our revelation on Nigeria but the Lord God Almighty has a special assignment for you in Nigeria. As I disclosed in my open letter to Gen Buhari a week ago, you and him are joined together at the hips in the spiritual realm and here are the Words of the Sovereign Lord of the heavens and the earth according to Genesis 41:39-41: "Then Pharaoh said to Joseph…You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you. So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt." There is a head and a there is a neck; the head cannot function without the neck and the neck itself is useless without supporting the head. Those with the Holy Spirit of the Living God know what we're talking about here. I see you there but it will be rough, tough and hard. Tell Yemi Osinbajo to beware of his safety and be security conscious. Stop the populist posture and be aware of your immediate surroundings, because the Almighty Lord God of the heavens and the earth and all that are in them whom I serve in Truth and Spirit has brought you up for a great thing in Nigeria. You are coming to power in Nigeria through the spiritual intervention of the Most High God and He wants to use you for a purpose. You didn't come this way without the Spirit directing you. Cast your mind to two powerful prayers you prayed long ago. May be you might have forgotten. I have never seen or met you in my life and I don't live in Nigeria but the spirit realm controls the secular physical world. You-Prof Yemi Osinbajo- asked the Lord God Almighty to intervene in the Life of the Nigerian nation. You prayed that the Sovereign Lord God Almighty should elevate and choose people after His heart to cleanse Nigeria. The Lord God Almighty says I should tell you, He heard your prayers and supplications, and He's sending you now as one of those Nigerians in answer to your prayer burdens. We are told to tell you that the rest messages should wait for now. Again, we are told to tell you; Beware of those around you, be conscious of your personal safety. If you are a born-again child of the Living God living in Nigeria or outside the nation and you know the Lord you serve and you're serving Him in Truth and Spirit, there are three prayer requests that you should be immersed in between now and Saturday February 14, 2015. Do not pray that the Will of the Almighty God be done on the forthcoming presidential election. The Sovereign Lord of the heavens and earth has already made His will known. President Goodluck Jonathan will NOT win the Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election, period! His supporters and people may shout, abuse, send me nasty emails, threaten and cry but these are just empty threats. That is the Will of God, period! Gen Muhammadu Buhari will win the forthcoming Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election, period! I have already given the reasons from the Lord God Almighty for his victory. Now that we know the Supreme Will of the Sovereign Lord God Almighty in the Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election, pray that President Goodluck Jonathan will not succumb to the bad advice of the tiny bad advisors that will try to prevail on him not to concede defeat to the winner; Gen Buhari. Pray that our outgoing president will allow the Spirit of the Lord God Almighty to direct, guide and guard him to do the right thing and leave the stage. The second prayer request that should be in the mouths of all genuine worshippers of the True Lord God Almighty this New Year 2015 is that all those people who are being used by Satan to retard the progress of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be taken out once and for all this year in the Mighty Name of Jesus. There are few "powerful" Nigerians who are the architects of the pains and miseries of the generality of Nigerians. These small but Satanic and demonically-controlled Nigerians will do everything and anything to make sure the Nigerian nation remains the way the country is and it will take serious intercessory prayers from the true worshippers of God to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of these demonized individuals. Pray that these Satanic individuals will change, but if they don't change, we should entreat the Powers of Heavens to take them out. Brethren, there is going to be intense spiritual warfare for the soul of the Nigerian nation in the first 6 months of this years-January-June 2015. How the Lord God Almighty will take out the troublers and enemies of the Lord and the Nigerian people is none of our business, but we should ask Him to take them out this year 2015. The Lord God Almighty told us last year in our Predictions and Prophecies for 2014 that He would remove some people out of their earthly positions, including some of His servants too who are wallowing in sins and would also lift up some in 2014. He said His judgment would begin from the House of God and we saw the outcome. The Spirit of the Lord Almighty will continue this cleansing in the New Year 2015 as many will die by the sword, their children will die suddenly and many shall become widows and orphans in Nigeria. Finally, the third prayer request of all Nigerians this year is for the protection and safety of Gen Buhari and his in-coming vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Those who can afford to fast should fast and those who can make decrees and proclamations should do so. The Year 2015 is full of surprises. Pray that you will be alive to witness those surprises. But there's one thing that is certain: Nigeria will never be the same again in 2015. SOURCE: http://nigeriaworld.com/feature/publication/fayemiwo/010415.html |
PROPHECY by Moshood Fayemiwo The Holy Spirit is no respecter of anyone as long as you are willing to do His will, He will fulfill His promise as stated in His Word in Jeremiah 33: 2-3: "Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name, Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'" Consequently, this year 2015, as Nigerians are still celebrating a New Year, in the next six to eight weeks, they will also be clapping and high-fiving one another; "Happy New Government," at least in the camp of the opposition and Gen Buhari supporters. The Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election is NOT going to be deadlock. The Lord God Almighty didn't show me that it will be a deadlock. There will be an outright and clear-cut winner and that winner is Retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He will defeat incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan between 63 and 69 percent in all the 36 states of the Nigerian federation, including Abuja, FCT. The good news for Nigerians who are apprehensive about the prediction of a divided Nigeria is that, Nigeria will NOT divide in 2015. Now here are the chain of events that will occur politically between Sunday February 15, 2015 and May 29, 2015 when Retired General Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will be sworn at the Eagle Square in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria as president and vice-president of Nigeria respectively. POLITICAL CRISES BETWEEN FEBRUARY 16 AND MAY 29, 2015: The results of the Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election will shock many Nigerians and even President Goolduck Jonathan himself. His shock is not because he has lost the election as the Lord God Almighty has already shown him as I have revealed in my open letter to him on December 18, 2014 and I am repeating it here again for the umpteenth time. Why President Jonathan will be so shell-shocked is the level and margin of his defeat. Traditional areas that he and his ruling PDP thought are their backyards will revolt against them. The Lord God Almighty said He has heard the cries, wailings, anguish and tears of ordinary Nigerians and His children who are daily being oppressed and crying unto Him against their oppressors; He has come to answer them this year 2015. Nigerian Christians thought they have a way of knowing how the Lord God Almighty would intervene in the affairs of Nigeria in answer to their prayers but the Almighty God said; "Tell My people" as He said in Isaiah 55: 8-9: "…my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Let me put this out here quickly. What will happen in the first 5 months of 2015 in the political history and development of Nigeria will be a thrown-back to what happened 21 years ago in Nigeria, precisely June 12, 1993. The spiritual world operates in continuum; it is not divided into days, weeks, months and years as we do on earth in the material world. The Almighty Father is the One in control and absolutely in charge. As the results of the Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election begin to trickle in from every states of the Nigerian federation, the Independence National Electoral Commission-INEC- would have got the picture that this is a landslide in favor of Gen Buhari and against incumbent President Jonathan. In any election like that in Nigeria where malpractices and other vices are possible and often occur to subvert God's Will, in this year 2015, the Lord God Almighty says He wants to show beyond anything, any force and any power that His Will must stand. It is possible to manipulate a close election, but the Lord God Almighty says He has just shown to Nigerians what He did on December 11, 2014 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos during the presidential primary of the All Progressive Congress-APC of what He will do at the forthcoming Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election. The INEC will decide to announce the winner and that is; Gen Muhammadu Buhari. President Goodluck Jonathan will be under tremendous pressure by powerful forces not to respect the election results. Immediately Prof Attahiru Jega decides to call the election results because as I have explained, the presidential election will not be too close to call at all, a clear-cut winner will emerge. Immediately, bedlam will ensue. There will be rioting, civil unrest, arson and mayhem, including general lawlessness in certain parts of Nigeria. As I have indicated above and in my open letter to President Jonathan on December 2014, he has known that he will not be re-elected and he will make it plain he wants to hand-over to Gen Buhari, the clear winner of the forthcoming Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election. Some service chiefs and powerful but tiny power brokers surrounding him will advise him to suspend the remaining elections; state and national assembly elections. There are three individuals that will be advising President Jonathan to do this and these three individuals are outside the Jonathan Administration. Another three individuals who are currently in the Jonathan Administration will join these first set of three individuals making a total of six powerful Nigerians that will advise President Jonathan not to hand-over to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the winner of the forthcoming Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election. We are not permitted to reveal the names of thee six individuals for now. Once again, Nigeria will be the focus of the world media and again dominate top news headlines. The United States of America, the UK, Japan, Germany and the Western world will urge President Jonathan to respect the wishes of the Nigerian people and hand-over to the winner; Gen Muhmmadu Buhari. When these events begin to unfold as revealed by the Holy Spirit here, those of you who have read these Special Prophecies and Predictions on Nigeria 2015 will remember you read it somewhere. To reiterate once again, I will not disclose the names of the six Nigerians that will give President Jonathan the ill-advice to disregard the outcome of the forthcoming Saturday February 14, 2015 presidential election. Because of the spate of civil unrest that will engulf Nigeria shortly after Gen Buhari is declared winner on Monday February 16, 2015, the Jonathan Forces will call for an interim government and cancel the remaining elections. If President Goodluck Jonathan decides to take that route, he WILL NOT survive it. Nigerians went through this experience about 22 years ago and history may repeat itself once again before our very eyes. President Jonathan will like to cede the stage and concede defeat, but he will be under intense and tremendous pressure by forces greater than him not to concede defeat, even though it is plain and straight forward he has lost the election. The two choices available to him have both spiritual and physical consequences. What will happen between February 18, 2015 and May 29, 2015 in Nigeria will not be revealed for now as I was commanded. The Edo police command has arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly shaving the pubic hair of a woman who fell asleep in his room in Benin City. Also arrested by the command is a man who allegedly defiled his 13-year-old daughter in Ologbo area near Benin. The Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi paraded the two suspects along with 25 others at the state police command headquarters, Benin on Friday. According to the Adegbuyi, the suspect, Adamu Ibrahim lured the victim, (name withheld) “into his room, shave her arm pit hair and her pubic hair without her consent.” The suspect, a resident of Aduwawa community in Benin who hails from Funtua local government area of Katsina state, confessed to shaving his woman’s pubic hair while sleeping, but said that the woman is his girlfriend. “I shaved the pubic hair of the woman because I wanted to sleep with her. She is my girlfriend”. He stated. He however denied that he did it for ritual purpose, adding that he threw away the hair afterwards. The suspect further stated that when the woman woke up and discovered that he had shaved off her pubic hair, she demanded to see the hair. He maintained that since he could not produce it, she raised alarm and the people around the place called the police who arrested him immediately. The Police boss also stated that one Omonuyodo forcefully had canal knowledge of his 13-year-old daughter and the Family Unit of the police command is already investigating the defilement. President Goodluck Jonathan may have prevailed on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to challenge President-elect Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in last Saturday’s election. Instead of planning a case for the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, the Presidency will raise a Transition Committee on Tuesday, a source told The Nation yesterday. Vice President-elect Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is likely to head the All Progressives Congress (APC) team which will join the committee ahead of the May 29 transition. Ministers have started preparing their handover notes, it was also learnt. It was gathered that although some PDP stalwarts wanted Buhari’s victory challenged at the tribunal, the President thought otherwise. The party stalwarts, it was said, believe that some irregularities in some states are strong enough to upturn the final results of the election, which was hailed at home and abroad as substantially credible. Jonathan, it was learnt, said it made no sense —contesting Buhari’s victory— after he had conceded defeat. It was learnt that the PDP leaders referred to the electoral scenario in Ekiti where the All Progressives Congress(APC) went to tribunal despite the acceptance of defeat by ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi. The President, however, stood his ground that he would rather stand by his statesmanship attitude than going to tribunal. A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The President has prevailed on PDP to drop plans to go to tribunal against Buhari. He said he wants his word to be his bond, having been applauded by the international community. “At a point, Jonathan said ‘I don’t believe in post-election petition at tribunal because it distracts the incoming administration’. “He also said Nigeria must emulate other nations where once the presidential poll is lost and won, the new government must not be distracted with election petitions. “He told party leaders that he was not interested in going to the tribunal. It is now left for PDP leaders to heed his advice. “So as at Thursday, the government’s position is that the PDP should not go to tribunal.” Stating the PDP’s position on the elections in a statement yesterday, Chairman Adamu Mu’azu, said: “We have received reports of serious irregularities that characterized the conduct of the election and we shall channel our protests to the appropriate quarters in line with our profound respect for the rule of law and democratic ethos.” He did not say whether the party would go to the tribunal but added: “What is paramount to us is the survival of our democracy, the unity, peace and progress of our dear nation and the happiness of all our people. Nigeria is bigger than any political party, individual or group and her overall interest must be our priority at all times.” The President in 2010 at the 15th summit of the African Union (AU) in Kampala, Uganda described post-election litigation as a major distraction to governance. Jonathan said: “It is inconvenient to already be in office and be thinking about election litigation. “The essence of the immunity clause in the constitution is that if a president or a governor takes an oath of office, he should sit down and concentrate on the job and when he leaves office, he could be prosecuted for any offence. “But because of the way we conduct our elections, the president who sits in office is still battling and being distracted with election issues, and it affects us.” The transition committee is likely to be constituted next week. Another source added: “The Presidency is working on a seamless transition from Jonathan’s administration to Buhari’s. The details are being worked out.” “I think by next week, the picture of the transition committee will emerge. The government is working early on the transition because it involves a lot of work. “The APC team will have to collaborate with the committee and ask questions if there are grey areas.” Meanwhile, Ministers have started compiling their handover notes, which will be part of the integral aspect of the report of the transition committee.
