The Madueke brouhaha and the Northern cabals issue you pointed are not peculiar to Jonathan. All governments have had to deal with them.

But then Jonathan was not a sissy to them as you seemed to infer. In fact, he defied them severally, hence they sabotaging his government. The Almajiri schools for instance was against the Northern elites vocal interests. But Jonathan did it.

When we say Jonathan was nice, he wasn't Machiavellian with his politics. Everybody spoke. Everybody was free to attack him. Anyone could protest. Nobody was being witch-haunted extra-legally. That was against the norm we know in Nigeria.

People criticise him for this and call him weak. But I don't think he was. He was just too plain and civilised for Nigeria at that time.

It was under Jonathan that the CBN and NNPC couldn't account for 20 billion US dollars.

The president is moaning and wailing that he is depressed, his em vice was in Kebbi today looking like an abandoned orphan left in the rain and the NSA is no where to be found.

Why is it Nikki Minaj that had to go up there and draw the attention of the world to the killings in Nigeria? Why is it Nikki Minaj that is championing the cause of Christians here? How did Nikki get a platform to speak at the UN and none of Enenche, Oyedepo or Adeboye could?

If Adeboye, Kumuyi, Oyedepo and Enenche together visit the white house and show Trump the desperate situation of things in Nigeria, this matter will be tackled. If any of them had insisted on addressing the UN, they would have been listened to.

Enough of barking from the pulpit. Martin Luther King didn't set America on the path of racial justice and equity by staying on the pulpit and lamenting. He held rallies, marches, led civil disobedience and sought audience with the white house. He was engaged. That's how change is brought about.
