But the army that denied that any of its officers was missing bears no responsibility here? Imagine you were that officer fighting for your life and the safety of your men. Instead of the army you have dedicated your life to, sending search and rescue teams to look for you, they put out a press statement full of lies that you weren't missing and then they went to sleep.

How would you have felt? How do you think that officer felt in his final moments when he knows that the information he gave out regarding his location was leaked and that's how ISWAP could get him. How do you think he felt seeing that kind of betrayal? Sowore didn't fail him. The military did.

Leave Sowore out of this. Was Sowore the one that forced the Nigerian army to put out a statement and lie that the brigadier general and his men had returned? Sowore's initial report was that a formation of Nigerian army troops and their CO had been ambushed with 4 casualties. Nigerian army then put out a statement acknowledging the attack but also went on to say its officers were able to repel the attack and return.

FOUR DAYS later, news spread that ISWAP had held a brigadier hostage. Apparently, he was the CO of the unit earlier attacked. For four days Nigerian army could not embark on patrol to locate its officer. Rather, it choose lies and propaganda.

As if that was not enough, this brigadier general was able to place a distress call to the army informing them of his location. That intel got leaked to ISWAP and ISWAP got to him. I am confident the army leaked that intel because if they had search and rescue patrols combing the general area, ISWAP would not have gotten to that officer first. An officer is missing for days and the army couldn't be bothered to look for their own!

What not evidence do we need before we accept that the fight against terror has been deeply compromised?

Is this still a debate? There is a well sponsored and coordinated attack against Christians in Nigeria.

There is no world in which it makes economic sense to adopt them as feed for fish. The most a kg of table size catfish goes for is around 3500 - 3800 and this is after feeding for 5 months. So how many days old chicks will a farmer use to get them to that size?

News went viral last week that a convoy of Nigerian army troops returning from patrol, got ambushed by ISWAP forces. A number of casualties were recorded. This is not the first time such a thing has happened.

At what point do we begin to understand that there is either deliberate sabotage going on in the fight against terrorist elements or our military is simply incompetent?

Take for example, the Russian Ukraine war. You will never witness armed attacks or ambushes on forward moving columns. Why? The incentive for that has been removed. How? Through active drones constantly monitoring every route of passage. It is fools errand to lead convoys on the road without eye in the sky capabilities. Cheap drones that our military can afford. So why don't they have that?

With the billions expended so far on this fight against terrorists, Nigeria doesn't have an active monitoring station where feeds from multiple drones covering areas troops must transit through, is viewed in real time. It is madness to move through contested areas without visual coverage of the transit route.

Nigeria has the money for this. Why are we not deploying this technology? What is the office of the NSA doing?

When the USA came to Nigeria to rescue an American citizen held hostage in Niger state, they had live drone feeds available and they were able to guide their troops down to the target house and even informed them on how many hostiles were in the house. That operation was executed without a single American soldier losing his life.

Nigeria is not ready to tackle terrorism.
