2.2 meter bomb? That's one hell of a large UXO. It is bigger than most of the UXOs currently being found all over Europe. Something that large can level entire city blocks so it means it was a dud dropped from a Nigerian airforce fighter jet. Taking a look at that bomb again, I can't help but wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have detonated the bomb on site. There was no point risking the life of the police personnel by having him handle the bomb. The area was uninhabited. Placing huge metal blocks around the UXO and detonating it would have been the better option. The police got off lucky. Till date, there are entire areas in France that can't be developed due to UXOs from WW1. Over 110 years later, those bombs and grenades still pose an active threat. Farmers in France operating in such areas, have to be extremely careful and avoid certain areas. Bombs from WW1 still explode in that country. Germany (WW2) and Vietnam constantly deal with UXOs all the time. Vietnam in particular, had more bombs dropped on that country by the US than all the bombs dropped by all the countries in WW2, combined.

Statisense oooo! South West lower than the north east and north west? A lazy youth must have come up with this statistic. |

akpumping7720:Clean up what? You think when you delete posts they are actually deleted? Everything can be recovered back. There is a reason why the NSA has the world's largest data storage facility in Utah. |
DeLaRue:Glo is actively being sabotaged by its own staff. Staff connive with diesel suppliers to short change the company. Most times when you find that Glo network is fluctuating terribly or near absent, it might just be that a Glo mast closeby has gone offline or isn't powered sufficiently. Every mast facility must be supplied with enough diesel to last it for a certain period. However that doesn't happen in a number of cases. Rather, you find that Glo staff and shady diesel suppliers, connive to use a lower capacity generator, which can't fully power the base or they supply a lesser than agreed quantity causing the base to go offline before the next diesel delivery. This happens nationwide. MTN somehow isn't faced with the same issue on a large scale. So you see how the Nigerian factor has come into play again. Nigerian staff are killing a Nigerian company. Just like we did to Nitel, Nigeria Airways, the Railways and thousands of other government owned companies. Dangote had arrangements in place to sell cheaper fuel. Staff from his major distributors connived to swindle him until he was forced to suspend the fuel program. NNPC staff connived with contractors to embezzle over 19 billion dollars in fake refinery repairs over the past 8 years. 19 billion dollars! Nigerians will kill and frustrate anything just to loot money. This is the reason why Glo will keep struggling. The virus eats the company from within. |
By blatantly stealing from Nigerians. That's how. |
C oo. He has no mind of his own. I can shout at him and he will be smiling like the suegbe that he is |
And sell to who? |
MistyDense:She is o. We don't turn her to celeb because of bobby. We Nigerian men will never have sense. I saw somewhere that the assault video was viewed over 33 million times. Tell me that we are not mad in this country. |
So overnight we have made this girl a star? What are we all smoking in this country? This girl will be the new Tasha. She doesn't need to sue government. Her hook-up value has increased. |
DoTheNeedful:The reason why Dangote stood and still stands out in wealth is that the man is an avid consumer of knowledge and a hard worker. He studies about every business before he ventures into it. Till date Dangote wakes up before 5am to strategize and plan his day. Dangote reads books as if his life depends on them. He also has a unique sense of self preservation. He plays politics from the shadows. Few people know that in the first PDP national convention in Jos, Dangote flew in volumes of cash to support Obasanjo's candidacy. He did same for Yar'adua when he ran for president. Dangote does not openly support or antagonise any politician running for the presidency. He makes it a duty to befriend anyone who is the president. It has paid him massive dividends. At a time when dollar was exchanging for over 700 naira, Dangote was able to access dollars from the CBN at far less than 400 naira. This deal he struck with Buhari's permission, is the principal advantage behind his refinery today. He knows how to access the corridors of power. |
Dangote never had any humble beginnings OP. He as a person may be humble but he has always been in money. The family he comes from have been in money since the 1800s. They were in money before Nigeria as an entity existed. Dangote's great grand father is the reason why the British created First bank(formerly British bank of West Africa) in Nigeria. He was that banks first ever customer. He brought 20 camels loaded with silver coins to the bank to deposit. Dangote's great-great grandfather, Abdullahi, was the wealthiest man in what is now called northern Nigeria. His son Alhassan, Dangote's great grand father, went on to become the richest man in British west Africa. His wife too was equally wealthy. The famous ground nut pyramids that Northern Nigeria was known for was the brain child of Alhassan Dangote. The man was that wealthy. He was the point man for all British businesses in what we now call Nigeria. The argument can be made that adjusted for inflation, Dangote himself is no where close to being as wealthy as his forebears. |
Soludo needs to shut up. Why do Igbo like pulling down fellow Igbo? He keeps attacking Obi. It is needless. |
You built a house right beside the ocean. What else were you expecting? The owner of this house must be very stupid. |
No be today churches start to use their followers head. |

BlocksNG:He is a paid russian asset working to sow disinformation. His posts always makes front page. Nairaland is a russian disinformation site. They can remove my posts I don't care. |
zed7:It is readily available for you to verify yourself. |
Ironfaceman:It has been insinuated that Idahosa was actually poisoned. He died while eating dinner. |
Few people know the story of the encounter Dangote had with Benson Idahosa. Over 30 years ago when T.L Osbourne and his wife Daisy visited Idahosa and needed to return, the plane back to the US was already full and another will not be available readily. Idahosa walked into the aircraft and requested that a couple of people give up their seats for his guests. No one readily obliged. Idahosa repeated his request and then a young Dangote with his assistant stood up and made to give up their seats. They were the only Muslims on the plane. Idahosa then stopped Dangote and asked him his names and what he does. Dangote casually mentioned that he is a business man and a trader. There and then, Idahosa prophesied the men will stand up for Dangote worldwide and that his business will grow beyond the shores of Africa. Dangote really didn't think much of it. As T.L Osbourne and his wife then entered the plane to take up the seats Dangote had left, Idahosa then prayed for everyone on the plane and they all shouted amen. Idahosa found it ridiculous that all the Christians on the plane refused to give up their seats but the only two Muslims did. He then enjoined them to watch his program that comes up every Sunday evening on television and then deboarded the airplane. Idahosa is long gone but God has fulfilled his word. The world knows Dangote today. None of the Christians on that flight are remembered today. The debate may be held if Idahosa's prophecy really helped make Dangote who he is today. Dangote himself narrates that story on occasion. But it must not be forgotten that Dangote remains a very avid reader and pursuer of knowledge. By 4:30am most mornings, he is already up and planning for his day. He pays keen attention to details and stays up to date with every information relevant to his field. A hard worker to the core. Prophesies may help but nothing beats dedication, excellence and commitment to work. |
Economies can't function without subsidies of some sort. The largest economies in the world are some of the most subsidized. China and the US pay huge subsidies to ease burdens of their population. Nigeria with its widespread adoption of IMF/Worldbank economic policies is making life unduly difficult for people. SpaceX and Apple are some of the biggest companies on earth and yet they pay no taxes. SpaceX particularly is heavily subsidized to stay competitive. Economic growth without subsidies of some sort is nearly impossible. |
Dem do this man strong thing for PFN convention at Dunamis Glory Dome. Ever since na so him just dey sing like lark. |
19 billion dollars. Yes, that's the amount Buhari spent on rehabilitating still non functional refineries. Dangote used 22 billion dollars to build the biggest refinery in Africa. So you get an idea of the kind of stealing that the NNPC under Buhari did. Where else in the world will people steal this kind of money and be walking around freely? Don't just take my word for it, here is a Thisday report on it. https://www.thisdaylive.com/2023/06/09/sule-buhari-spent-over-19bn-on-fixing-refineries-in-eight-years-without-results/ This matter is beyond what EFCC can handle as they don't have the staff with the depth of competence and knowledge regarding the petroleum industry to fully scrutinize this particular kind of fraud. |
And such a person is minister of defense in Nigeria! |
Not the first governor to do that. Former governor Gbenga Daniels of Ogun state did similar. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti even knelt down civil servants who came late to work. |
You left Abuja by 8pm to go to Kaduna? Naaa... dude was asking and begging to be kidnapped. |
