On one sunday occasion, my mum brought a discourse up that arose in her church concerning a septuagenarian woman who refuses to use the hand sanitizer that was placed at the entrance of the church by the pastor to necessitate the church members to adhere to the NCDC guidelines.. The woman on the basis that the hand sanitizer contains alcohol as she labelled it a "sin." However, all efforts by the pastor of the church to change the woman's perspective proved abortive as she insisted all through that the bible frowns at such. I was stunned when I heard about it. To my fellow nairalanders, I would like to have your comments on this issue. P.S- The said woman is a fervent Bible school teacher. |

Due to this COVID-19; I had no choice than to leave my school to stay at home for the lockdown as school activities have been suspended but my parents will not let me be as they believe i'm addicted to my mobile. This lockdown is terrible indeed as I can't do without my phone. In fact when my parents are in the sitting room; I prefer to stay in my room and be doing some essentials like reading, browsing and editing.. I don't think I can cope with this any longer. |
Apparently, we all know that data is life and with the on-going lockdown by the State government, i don't think i can do without data on my phone as right now, 1gb of data now looks like 1mb and to make matter worse, we hardly have light in my area. Aswearugud, this country is hard!. ![]() I would like to hear your comments. |
I received this text from MTN network provider this morning and it read thus; "Dear customer, you are now enjoying FREE 100MB daily to browse the Federal Ministry of Health, NCDC and WHO websites. Please stay safe and stay informed. I don't know if anyone got this also.

Hello Nairalanders!. Believe me you; this pandemic has affected me negatively in the sense that I was supposed to start an Internship with a News agency company which would so much give me a good experience and exposure. I've craved for this opportunity for a long time as a news writer. Unfortunately it has been postponed. Moreover, I have friends in which their foreign trips were cancelled. I would like nairalanders to share some of their bitter experiences as a result of this pandemic if there's any. |
Potatochips:Exactly as it seems "dream". I've not travelled out before not even to another state in Nigeria asides Ibadan. But I know one day sha... "Obodo Oyinbo" will become norms for me. I'm always happy seeing guys flew out of this country. God'll help us and I keep on trusting the process. P.S- I'm grateful to Nairaland for what I've gained on this forum as a content writer. I can't wait to meet Seun and 'em laslasticlala. |

Thanks alot@Mr.Physics. We've actually not met but you did a wonderful insight to this thread. I went through the post from comment 1-18 despite having a test this morning. I love what you're doing and this apparently rekindle the beliefs that we still have good Nigerians out there. Good success in your endeavors. I hope we have good stories to share with each other by the time we meet at the top where there seems to be no congestion!. ogunsanyaoladotun@gmail.com. Actually, I would go for my elder sister's status cos she motivates me a lot. And not the regulars, who upload their whole gallery on their status. |
Hello nairalanders! I've asked a lot of my friends this question times without numbers. With various comments like "once I can't cut my hair" etc. But me personally, what signifies that I'm broke is when "I don't have subscription on my phone". Chai! Life is always frustrating as we all know DATA is LIFE!. Let's know from your angle. |
Nigerians keep burning in despair towards this country. Whatever may the case, I do not judge from a one side only, let's see the next updates to this story. God bless Nigeria |
I'm glad this thread will be of help tremendously. I'm a 500L veterinary student in one of the best University in Nigeria. But I'll be finishing my DVM degree by 2020/2021. I'm thinking since Australia has a flare for my profession. I can either go there to work or better still apply for an MSc scholarship o'vr there. Anyone with some useful tips? as Australia has been my dream country. So help me God!.. More so, who knows the survival of Nigerian Veterinarains o'er there. Thanks OP |

When our long time expectation comes, may we not be found wanting. Amen. |
A country that is rhe pride of Africa. I believe its high time we probed further into the health sector of this our beloved country. One thing that brings fear and worries to me is the consistent cases of people being flown overseas for treatments. My question is what exactly are we missing or when are we going to stop this nemesis?. At least there should be a way out to all these krim krun kram krum. Thank you. |
Hi nairalanders, I'm a guy and taking of pictures as compared to the females in which i know is kind of limited for the males, as most guys are not photo freak. Yesterday, which happens to be my guy's birthday, we couldn't sight his picture anywhere. All we could fams him was just his name only, not even to change the class group icon in which he belongs to. Then I was furious, so I approached him as to the reason. Lo' and behold i received the shocking of my life when he said even his biological Mum doesn't have his pictures not to talk of friends et the rest. Then he pondered that the reason would soon become an advantage to him in the nearest future as it minimises scammers and authenticate one's visibility cos he's into paint drawings and he said his mentor does not take pictures also. Despite that being the case, at least recent picture is not a bad one!. He even went further to say if by mistake people took his picture unawares that he would stylishly delete them from their phones. Although, I don't like pictures myself but my images ain't secretive. So, I don't know if i'm the only one who has a friend like this? and ulterior moves on how to change his perspective is highly welcomed. Thank you. |
Hi nairalanders, There had always been a misconception about the freshers' in tertiary institution, seeing their senior ones in the department or faculty as "Bossses" anytime thhe word "examinations" is being uttered. Over time, the younger ones see 'em as superheroes or one that doesn't get intimated so easily. But I think the difference reflect in the custom the senior colleagues handle the situation. Its quite unique and matured since they've been ested over time making them an expertise in the area of " trials and error" Looking at it from this angle, I'm a 400 level student in a federal university in Nigeria but not in my final laps and I just checked the outcome of my test result. Lo and behold it was bad. Eversince then, I've not been myself and I kept imagining if also finalists in the house also experiences such?? Thank you. |
Hello, I've been so inquisitive to know the time frame on saturday for voters to exercise their franchise as a patriotic Nigerian. With some days left to the Presidential election and being my first time to vote with desperate supporters who will be on the lookout for the counting of vote so as to be guaranteed there's no foul play and for 'em to be sure of their candidate's fate. So, my question now [is the voting exercise from morning till night and is it the same time lapse across various polling Booth? Thank you fellow nairalanders. #Feb23 #2019 elections. #Nigeria decides! |
Happy sunday nairalanders, Over time I've had time to ruminate on this issue, with the fact that i hardly get gingered by motivational speakers or videos. When I see people upload 'em on their statuses. I find it embarrassing thinking how many of all these things will make a difference? Not that they aren't worth emulating but the problem with me is that, I believe its PERIODIC and not for a life time. I only get moved by someone working extremely hard and of a positive mindset irrespective of the personality. I'll appreciate it if I can know your stance. Have a beautiful week ahead. |
Hi nairalanders, This evening on my whatsapp, I uploaded a funny picture I downloaded from nairaland in which indicated President Buhari having a large turn out for his campaign and Atiku saying all what he wanted was to get PDP presidential ticket. I guess this didn't go well with my friend who am not sure of his oarty. Funny enough, my friend viewed my status and inquired that "what has PMB done during his 4 years in office" and I replied him by saying "he has done a whole lot" and he ordered i should block him from my list. Without wasting much time, I asked if he has his PVC, then after I fulfilled his wish. Just saying tho' "we all are entitled to duverse opinions" and shouldn't have taken it so personal. |
