lawyers lie. yes...but who doesn't? mind you, that lawyers lie does not mean ALL lawyers are liars nor that one MUST lie to make it as a lawyer. corruption and dishonesty is in EVERY profession, its worse even in religion. like Mr Alimi of the NLS Lagos once said, if a man who is a perennial liar becomes a lawyer, will he stop lieing? its just about who u are, lieing and even corruption has nothing to do with ur profession. .....and its really annoying that non-lawyers have, in this thread, become professionals at what happens in the legal profession.

Ethics of Law permits a counsel to do whatever s/he can to win the case for his/her client, even if its to lie. Xtian ethics goes against lying. So, when u wanna pursue ur career in law, think twice, u can't sit on the fence. Either you are for Law, or u r for the Lord. I've been in a courtroom several times, in fact I've been on attachment at a state high court as well. I have lawyer friends, and I understand what it entails to be a lawyer. My opinion is that its not a good profession for a 'born-again' xtian

I really had to respond to this cos u seem to b one of those who tarnish the image of the profession. wen u were talking about ethics of the law were u talking about the rules of professional conduct? my grouse with u is dat ur not even a lawyer, if u were u must av read rule 15 of the RPC wherein a lawyer is enjoined to defend his client within the bounds of the law. where in the law is a lawyer commanded to defend his client by lieing?





THEN to this topic, y do people think that legal practice or litigation is all about defending criminals? criminal law is just less than 10% of wat lawyers do. infact the milk and juice in law is not in defending criminals. ok in a matter of breach of contract wen the contract is embodied in clear documents, and d law is that u cant contradict a document by oral evidence, how do u lie in that matter? moreso, law is the only prifessuon that gives u the highest and broadest career opportunities, there are lawyers dealing with aviation, construction, corporate practice, property etc. so stop thinking litigation is Everyfin, its a small part of legal practice. even in practice, the lawyer does not enter the witness box, the only person that may lie is the client and the job of a good lawyer on the other side is to dismantle those lies. i challenge you, wen u have a case, go to court and lie, and u will melt under the fire of cross examination.

in marriages. Though as an optimist, I am inclined to
believe that God designed marriage to be enjoyed. But
stark realities are staring me on the face. Realities that a
vast majority of marriages are in shambles. they are
either dead, dieing, comatose, or at best...walking dead.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not judge or condemn pipu who celebrate unscriptural holidays. we only teach the truth abt them to the effect that they do not originate from the bible and are thus, not fot true christians. ok if u have any doubt simply take few minutes and Google up the origin of Xmas, easter etc u will b shocked at the results u get. econity: this logic is faulty to the core, allocating 3g to BlackBerry for 1k5 is still thesame as allocating 3g to android if both of them are capable of exhausting it at the end of the month, if RIM is compressing data usage and a blackberry user decide to open a supposed 100kb page which means it'll be compressed by RIM to 25kb, and you open such page 4 times and an android user opens it once, is it not thesame data consumption.
to me, this is baseless. let allocate thesame data to both, leave it to android to drain its own faster while RIM compress its own for BB users.
