Actually the genesis of the bank's problems can be traced to 'bad loans' given out under his father's watch. Let me rephrase, given I have seen the data, the loans made commercial sense at the time but the fundaments of this Nigerian operating space quickly thrashed all the underlying assumptions. FWIW, the loan takers lost their shirts, and the bank lost money. That was a slippery slope with an inevitable outcome.

That 2008/2009 time really spoilt market for a lot of big men.

Truth is, you can't use 'china phone' in China (if you know).
Transsion is holding on to areas it knows don't give a damn about what saner climes do. No African nation has ever sat to look into the security implications of the proliferating smartphones from China. Check out the ordeals of ZTE and more recently Huawei (we could expand to APPLE, MICROSOFT and AMAZON).

Nigerians are not that aware of data gathering so this isn't a factor for them. All companies obtain as much data as possible and people don't care in Nigeria.

It is known that American NSA uses Facebook to gather data yet Nigerians use Facebook with no qualms. Same story with WhatsApp. Yet no talk no complaint.

sorry boss, which is cheaper between Spain and Ireland for tourism visits?

That one depends on your lifestyle. For me I would say Spain if you are doing at the height of summer just because you can meet more people from other countries there.

Plenty people from Italy, Germany, UK and others so to me it is cheaper since you can interact with people from many countries for the price of one.

how easy is tourist visa and cost of living. #holidaythings.

I also read in their form that says a visitor is not allowed to go to the north without valid visa for such

It is not allowed but they don't operate actual border post so they don't check passport. If they nap you you are in soup but trust boys. They go now and then.

As for tourist visa it is quite easy to get. No wahala from them but your bank statement must be complete. It isn't like US that you can just enter with no documents and they might give you.

These ones check especially since it is an EU country. If you have traveled abroad before then it is sure. As for holidays expenses it is not that expensive unless you like to really explore. Travel cost can be on the high side so if you want to hit the majority of the counties in the Republic then you will spend.

If you decide to go to a more rural area and explore the countryside, then it will be very cheap. The only issue is that those rural areas don't really have African food stores like that so you'll be eating corned beef and baked beans anyhow LOL

Not too much chance to be hustling in Dublin as at now. The only good thing about the area is that you can enter there, then connect to Belfast in Northern Ireland and use that one to connect to London since they do t have checkpoint at that border.

School there is not that expensice but if you are a hustler it is tight there o

That makes it tougher. Family are good for backup and soft landing but unless these are core family members they might not back you up to that extent.

Also, once you reach Canada you can always get American visa so that you can face America if things get tough.

Do your research Sha.

Yet she was granted visa to go there and run her masters in microbiology...
She got there and was favored, got married to a missisipi guy last year and she be got a baby boy this year.. She be gotten her resident permit and green card, hoping to be a certified citizen by 2021...
She is even running a second degree in nursing and additional master program in Chem.Enginerring...
I thought it was that easy cos she was favored but when I decided to run my own, the thing just dey hard me so tey I Don dey loose hope for United State...

That was before Trump Administration took over na. Trump took over January 2017. After that time, Nigerians rushed Canada and Canada requested that the US should reduce visas to Nigerians. That is why things are tougher now.

I advise you to go for Canada for now.

Gabonese prefer to try to relocate to France. Even people from Swaziland get 10 year visa to America these days.

From senatorial to gubernatorial to presidency costs loads of cash and I truly think PDP doesn't have such money available to them anymore with the financial clampdown on corruption proceeds by buhari.

This was what I thought would happen. PDP messed up by making the primaries too expensive. Now they are waiting until January to start campaign to conserve money.

Now he has turned the place to a play ground for chadians... My last discussion on this thread.

In summary we are bleeped as a country....

Accept it and do nothing or Do something and refuse it.

Chad that hates us? Too bad. Is it not the same Chad that this Buhari has to invade back then in the 80s?

This is what happens when some backward people are allowed to rule. Because the man is a Northerner Buhari put him there damning the consequences.

This is what Buhari did back then when he supported a man from Niger Republic for key OAU post back then.

Chad for God's sake. Those are French agents na. Anytime France wants to mess up and Franco country it is Chad army that they call.

In your own view what can be done to upgrade NIA back to where it was?

Bro, in Nigeria the biggest failed mentality we have is that

1. To be a Yahoo boy is bad than been a white collar criminal / white collar fraudster.

2. Nigerians believe crime in an office setting is a normal and not a big deal but crime on the street is a no go area.

Do not blame some Nigerians, put the blame on the government. Try don't give a hoot about helping you in your times of need. To add to it, imagine your boss stocking your 4months saary in fixed deposit and then released the money on the fifth month.

Can you justify such wicked act? See we need to make changes if we want better economy. That's the height of all wickedness....

Now to even tell you the stupidity of nigerias, they laughed it off and felt that as long as he didn't cyphone the slary he is free and a good bus.

Can you imagine that? Someone made millions of naira interest of your salary and you feel it's okay....

Early last year a foreign embassy went around the Nigerian institutions collecting names of graduates with copies of trascript, what for I don't know...

Some time same last year NCC staff sold db of phone numbers and details off to some foreign embassy..

On these two occasions Sahara reporters publish this, but it was denrd on both case and Sahara reprters was labeled an anti-government arm...

Now, this is to tell you that these guys invest with informations, they recognized the value of these informations while we in Nigeria we just see such informations as Excel documents and normal names and last names....

Much more has happened I can't expluned.

Even me toking I have my want flaws I am not honest in ll entire but men I still have limits... Done and dusted anyway..

I have heard of people fixing pensions in fixed deposit but I didn't know they have now graduated to salary.

We are in a bad position.

That one of collecting names and transcripts is scary. What if they start using that one combined with names and phone numbers for intelligence operations?

With things like Whatsapp groups they can start mobilizing people and remote controlling them. Or see things like NSA scandal abroad where US is using all sorts of programs to monitor what people are saying.

If they start mapping Nigerians to a deeper level there is nothing they won't be able to do.

We don't even have treason laws or anything on ground for now. We might still suffer more before we can fix this situation.

Lol. You funny.

Imagine your boss knowing openly that you are been approached from foreign agencies for Infosys and they open their stupid mouth to say na side hutsle...

For real?

See let's change the topic of discussion

I have been saying that the way Nigeria operates will make patriotic people either go mad or decide to sabotage the country at all cost.

I am shocked to hear this. How can people be fully aware of efforts to infiltrate the country and not even do anything about it? How can people advocate taking such money? That means that there is nothing that Nigerian govt does that other third parties won't know.

Crime / Re: Traders Caught Mixing Sniper Insecticide With Beans (PHOTOS) by domaintraderng: 4:23pm On Nov 08, 2018
author=farady post=72792889]

The insult for this thread na wa.

The sniper is basically being used by those guys for preservation. The trader is preserving those beans with a diluted sniper. Note that the active ingredient in that Sniper is a compound called dichlorvos
Two years ago, the European Union (EU) banned Nigerian beans because of the high level of dichlorvos pesticide residue at 0.3, which was beyond the 0.1 acceptable limit in the beans. The issue here is we don’t know if the level of concentration is within the 0.1 limit.
Other chemicals like Chlorpyrifos, Cyhalothrin, Dimathoate, Trichlorphon, Omethoate and so on were also discovered in high, unacceptable levels in dried beans for export.
These pesticides were either applied in the farm during cultivation or at storage to preserve the beans from weevils.
To tackle this problem, the Purdue Improved Crop Storage (PICS) system was developed by Larry L. Murdock, professor of Entomology at Purdue University, USA and scientists in Cameroon in a research funded by a USAID and the university’s International Programs in Agriculture.
The PICS consists of two high-density polyethylene plastic bags, and an outer sack of nylon that protects them. It can store grains safely for eight to 12 months without the produce being damaged by insects.
To make the technology available to farmers in Nigeria, a company based in Kano State has been given the license to produce the bags for farmers and merchants for grains and beans storage.
The system reduces the amount of damage the weevils inflict upon stored beans and other grains.
[/quote]

I prefer this method with the bags. Sure there will be some spoilage by the weevils, but the reduction in consumption of pesticides is more than worth it.

I just hope that we can redistribute the bags to Farmers because a lot of Farmers resort to heavy use of pesticides to cut losses to the weevils.

xpizzy:

89% of those that will vote have no social media presence, we are not in an advanced clime, so you may need to device offline strategy for your calumny wars

That is a fair point, however, voter enthusiasm is very important, particularly at the margins.

Atiku's campaign relies on young people who are disproportionately connected to the internet. Controlling thier perceptions can cause them to transmit the implanted conceptions to parents.

Combine this with Whatsapp broadcasts and you can create a generalized mood that is very infectious.

Placing whatever is on the websites in the hands of recruited OAPs to broadcast the contents via radio is also an option. That will reach the population that is not, in fact, online.

They key is to bombard the voting population from all sides and by doing so, change the way they view the candidate in question.
