kingharzy: Nigerians are not that aware of data gathering so this isn't a factor for them. All companies obtain as much data as possible and people don't care in Nigeria. It is known that American NSA uses Facebook to gather data yet Nigerians use Facebook with no qualms. Same story with WhatsApp. Yet no talk no complaint. 1 Like |

miqos02: That one depends on your lifestyle. For me I would say Spain if you are doing at the height of summer just because you can meet more people from other countries there. Plenty people from Italy, Germany, UK and others so to me it is cheaper since you can interact with people from many countries for the price of one. 2 Likes |

miqos02: It is not allowed but they don't operate actual border post so they don't check passport. If they nap you you are in soup but trust boys. They go now and then. As for tourist visa it is quite easy to get. No wahala from them but your bank statement must be complete. It isn't like US that you can just enter with no documents and they might give you. These ones check especially since it is an EU country. If you have traveled abroad before then it is sure. As for holidays expenses it is not that expensive unless you like to really explore. Travel cost can be on the high side so if you want to hit the majority of the counties in the Republic then you will spend. If you decide to go to a more rural area and explore the countryside, then it will be very cheap. The only issue is that those rural areas don't really have African food stores like that so you'll be eating corned beef and baked beans anyhow LOL |

miqos02: Not too much chance to be hustling in Dublin as at now. The only good thing about the area is that you can enter there, then connect to Belfast in Northern Ireland and use that one to connect to London since they do t have checkpoint at that border. School there is not that expensice but if you are a hustler it is tight there o |

Also, once you reach Canada you can always get American visa so that you can face America if things get tough. Do your research Sha. |

Zsatan: Chad that hates us? Too bad. Is it not the same Chad that this Buhari has to invade back then in the 80s? This is what happens when some backward people are allowed to rule. Because the man is a Northerner Buhari put him there damning the consequences. This is what Buhari did back then when he supported a man from Niger Republic for key OAU post back then. Chad for God's sake. Those are French agents na. Anytime France wants to mess up and Franco country it is Chad army that they call. In your own view what can be done to upgrade NIA back to where it was? |

Zsatan: I have heard of people fixing pensions in fixed deposit but I didn't know they have now graduated to salary. We are in a bad position. That one of collecting names and transcripts is scary. What if they start using that one combined with names and phone numbers for intelligence operations? With things like Whatsapp groups they can start mobilizing people and remote controlling them. Or see things like NSA scandal abroad where US is using all sorts of programs to monitor what people are saying. If they start mapping Nigerians to a deeper level there is nothing they won't be able to do. We don't even have treason laws or anything on ground for now. We might still suffer more before we can fix this situation. 2 Likes |

Zsatan: I have been saying that the way Nigeria operates will make patriotic people either go mad or decide to sabotage the country at all cost. I am shocked to hear this. How can people be fully aware of efforts to infiltrate the country and not even do anything about it? How can people advocate taking such money? That means that there is nothing that Nigerian govt does that other third parties won't know. 1 Like |
Crime / Re: Traders Caught Mixing Sniper Insecticide With Beans (PHOTOS) by domaintraderng: 4:23pm On Nov 08, 2018 |
author=farady post=72792889] The insult for this thread na wa. The sniper is basically being used by those guys for preservation. The trader is preserving those beans with a diluted sniper. Note that the active ingredient in that Sniper is a compound called dichlorvos Two years ago, the European Union (EU) banned Nigerian beans because of the high level of dichlorvos pesticide residue at 0.3, which was beyond the 0.1 acceptable limit in the beans. The issue here is we don’t know if the level of concentration is within the 0.1 limit. Other chemicals like Chlorpyrifos, Cyhalothrin, Dimathoate, Trichlorphon, Omethoate and so on were also discovered in high, unacceptable levels in dried beans for export. These pesticides were either applied in the farm during cultivation or at storage to preserve the beans from weevils. To tackle this problem, the Purdue Improved Crop Storage (PICS) system was developed by Larry L. Murdock, professor of Entomology at Purdue University, USA and scientists in Cameroon in a research funded by a USAID and the university’s International Programs in Agriculture. The PICS consists of two high-density polyethylene plastic bags, and an outer sack of nylon that protects them. It can store grains safely for eight to 12 months without the produce being damaged by insects. To make the technology available to farmers in Nigeria, a company based in Kano State has been given the license to produce the bags for farmers and merchants for grains and beans storage. The system reduces the amount of damage the weevils inflict upon stored beans and other grains. [/quote] I prefer this method with the bags. Sure there will be some spoilage by the weevils, but the reduction in consumption of pesticides is more than worth it. I just hope that we can redistribute the bags to Farmers because a lot of Farmers resort to heavy use of pesticides to cut losses to the weevils. |
Politics / Re: Why Northern youths won’t support Buhari in 2019 – Shettima, AYCF president by domaintraderng: 6:44am On Oct 15, 2018 |
xpizzy: That is a fair point, however, voter enthusiasm is very important, particularly at the margins. Atiku's campaign relies on young people who are disproportionately connected to the internet. Controlling thier perceptions can cause them to transmit the implanted conceptions to parents. Combine this with Whatsapp broadcasts and you can create a generalized mood that is very infectious. Placing whatever is on the websites in the hands of recruited OAPs to broadcast the contents via radio is also an option. That will reach the population that is not, in fact, online. They key is to bombard the voting population from all sides and by doing so, change the way they view the candidate in question. 6 Likes 1 Share |
