mrvitalis:See this one . Kano generates the highest tariffs for the Aviation sector through over flier flights paid by international flights in transit. If the two federal owned airports are handed to your state governors they will all go into bankruptcy within a year. |
Streetinvestor2:Tah. That MOU would have come with a feasibility consultant fee. That's were the project was going and that is were it ended. It was a means to loot. |
mrvitalis:FG should also consider not extending rail network to your SE then since you say its a waste. Do you also know that apart from Lagos, Kano, Abuja and PH airports all other airports are operating at a huge loss including that of Enugu? If we go by this your Shylock profit mentality, then all federal airports in the SE should be shut down. |
mrvitalis:And investing in schools , roads , hospitals , etc. Lagos state like most other southern states outside your SE offer free education. Rivers has one of the best public schools that are better than most of your expensive private schools. All SW states and some SS states like Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta pay for WAEC enrollment. Do you know that most of your people rush to Lagos to benefit from this social policy? Be giving excuses for your thieving governors who do not invest in social programs nor any viable infrastructure. |
PROUDIGBO:Arrant nonsense. SE that depends on FG for everything and you are here saying they are denying you . Denying you what exactly? You entitled oliver twist long throat. |
kettykin:So Lagosians do not deserve to have rail system.? Lagos is not as reckless as your SE and the contractors handling the project have ironed out a solid repayment system. Ordinary village roads and schools your governors refuse to build and you are here scrutinizing Lagos railway project. Go and demand from your governors why you cant have the basics of life in your SE. |
kettykin:Then you have the option in remaining stagnant in your village setting . Lagos is ploughing their resources back into making their state to compete with other major cities. When Drogba and his speed boat racing team came to Lagos and not your Onitsha , it is your like that will say Lagos is choking other states. What have your governors done to take you out of your 1940s colonial Nigeria setting. Be doing feasibility study . |
michlins:In light of what you are saying, then it was pure waste to build a second Niger bridge. Its also pure waste for FG to continue maintaining Federal roads in the SE. It also does not make any economic sense for your state governors to construct roads at #6bn a kilometer which is the cost in Abia. It then makes no sense for both Federal and State governors in the SE to invest in any infrastructural project in the SE since it will not generate a dime. All federal allocations should go to fixed deposit accounts and in building breweries then. |
Mbanda:Which mess? Pls point to one major scandal that has rocked this administration. Just one. Girimgori signed a fake MOU for a monorail project that never went beyound the consultation phase which Anambra state paid for. 15ys later no rail project is in Anambra. The question now and just like you guys were demanding to know when Giringori was governor still remains: What is Peter Obi doing in Anambra? Show us one single legacy of this inept thief who diverted Anambra commonwealth into his personal portfolio in the guise of investments. |
watchindelta:The Indian police is now stereotyping any Nigerian in their country as a potential drug dealer. You should ask why it is so. |
Kushites:The reason boils down to an entitled mentality by their people who expect FG to do everything for them while they leave their governors to loot the dry. The SE is the most FG dependable. 90% of revenue to the region comes from the FG and most of that wasn't generated in the SE in the first place. The people down there and their governors have a silent agreement which is ''you don't tax us, we don't hold you accountable '' . The same people are also more accommodating to their governors brazenly looting and diverting public resources to their personal portfolios just as PETER OBI did during his tenure as governor because the people see politics as business to which those who scale through have the right to recoup their '' investments '' in running for office with heavy returns. It goes just beyond their thieving inept governors . During the PDP era, an inherited Obasanjo unwritten policy towards placating SE PDP politicians was to award Federal roads maintainance to same PDP politicians. These projects were used not only to placate SE PDP politicians but as kickbacks and future campaign slush funds. The policy was so entrenched in binding contracts that the subsequent Yaradua govt had no choice but to continue paying those crooks who hardly mobilized to site even after being paid and if they do, will carry out shoddy works. This was one reason the Enugu - PHC road was an eyesore for most of PDP's 16yr rule. When Buhari came onboard , he decided to cancel all those contracts and advertised a new contract for the rehabilitation of Federal roads in the SE. All foreign contractors did not apply knowing the level of criminality and extortion in the SE and they knew the former contractors will do everything to chase them away by mobilizing their criminal thugs. The FG then had no choice than to do direct labour through the ministry of Works. This is one of the few legacies of the Buhari govt and to his credit he fixed most federal roads in the SE through direct labour under the ministry of works. The level of irresponsibility of SE governors since 1999 to their citizenry has no part 2. Other than the last immediate governor of Enugu, Umahi of Ebonyi and Solodu , all the rest have been useless. |
During the coinciding tenures of Obi (Anamabra), T. Orji (Abi) and that of Enugu, these 3 states signed an MOU with a Canadian firm to construct monorail lines in each state. This was sometime in 2010. 15ys later, not an inch of rail has been constructed. The company GLOBIM which obviously had no experience whatsoever was only a conduit to syphon funds in the name of consultation. You can google : ''Globim signs agreement with [insert any of the states mentioned here] At the time Giromgory and Orji were signing fake MOUs meant to only syphon money in the name of consultation, Lagos state was drawing out and perfecting their own plans for a light rail system. Lagos has rolled out several rail routes which are functioning and just signed another contract for a bran new route. Instead of doing busy body for who pass you , why not demand from Giringori and his fellow failures in your SE why they stopped short of carrying out the project after signing MOUs with this obvious money laundry SPV. |
Shame no make many Giringorist comment for this thread. Taaah! |
Cherrybae:Nah Lagos dey open their eyes. |
Mbanda:Who is APC? I have never had anything to do with APC or any political party for that matter. Lest I remind you that this your goblet dw@rf was once in APC and only moved to LP when he lost the primaries in APC and same dw@rf will eventually decamp to same APC before the next elections citing crisis in LP. So when the dw@rf goes back to same APShit, I hope you won't be singing praises on the micron goblet . |
Mbanda:Abia is still paying #18k as minimum wage that was approved by Jonathan. They are yet to even pay the #30k minimum wage approved by Buhari talk more of the #70k Tinubu passed. This same Abia under the dw@rf is constructing single lane roads at a whopping #6bn per kilometer . The last F9 score card released by the dwarf had him celebrating less than a total 20km road length constructed since the LP administration. Most of the so-called roads are less than a kilometer. Local Government Authorities are bemoaning lack of funds a the dw@rf has refused to release money to the LGs after making the recently elected stooges in Zenith Party to sign away their fiscal autonomy by agreeing to a consolidated account with the state government. Since then, the LGs are starved of funding in direct contravention to LGA autonomy. So its this eyesore of a water fountain that the dw@rf is commissioning to the glee of these local peeps? I use to think Abia was cursed by bad leadership since 1999 but now I know the root problem are the people who don't know their left from their right. Tomorrow it is people like you that will be complaining of Lagos hegemony in national financial activities. Is it this Abia or any other state in your SE that can substitute Lagos with this kind backward village mentality and terrible leaders? No wonder you all empty out of that your SE the minute you can stand and run. |
What is this one spewing? A one party state is one were by law no other party is allowed to exist. Is there any such law pending in the NASS from the executive to ban opposition parties? Did INEC not just register 4 new parties? Put your houses in order and stop blaming Tinubu for the mass defections to the APC. |
These are the same people that are shouting for their Barabbas aka Rabbi Kanustein to be free. |
Has he sought forgiveness for his gay son? And doesn't it know that it is considered heretic in the Catholic church to mix with Protestants even if its just to campaign for their votes? This liar and hypocrite and real heretic believes he is special and that his pope is God on earth. |
MrNipplesLover:I know why you dey para. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 Nna |
004gist:But you will all be condemning the ongoing coastal highway the will add real value to our economy. Enjoy your cheap water fountain that will expire in 6months. |
At least he ain't gay bottom feeler. |
naptu2:Note the fact that I have quit smoking but that doesn't mean I am still not a smoker. |
LagosOrigin:Onitsha and Aba are the dirtiest place I have ever been to in Nigeria. No where comes close. |
Bush people. In 6months time ,that fountain will be the main refuse dump. |
TheNobleProphet:It goes beyond the coup of Jan 15. While we can not hold all ibos back then for the bloody ethnic cleansing tagged coup, despite the ibo majority celebrating it, all Ibos were actively in support of genoiding ethnic minorities trapped in Biafra and those in the occupied Midwest. The Asagba of Asaba left out the part where his people chose to ally with Ibos to invade and occupy the Midwest. He also had selective amnesia in recounting how his people also joined the IBO invaders in harassing , arresting , torturing and killing non igboid Midwesterners during the occupation by Biafran orcs. The Asagba also deliberately left out the part that most of the people executed on the spot on the direct orders by Murtala were captured Biafran soldiers and their civilian collaborators. The Biafran soldiers had ditched their uniforms and papers instead of surrendering to the Federal forces and had mingled with the populace. Such action automatically invalidates the invocation of the Geneva Convention . POW status only applies when a belligerent or group of belligerents surrender to the opposing end after duly identifying themselves through their uniform and laying down their arms . Once any member of a belligerent party ditches his uniform and papers he automatically is treated as a spy and there is no provision stated on how to treat a spy in the Geneva convention. Even to the Biafran military, their soldiers who ditched their uniforms had absconded from the war front and the punishment for this during war time, is death by firing squad for desertion. Murtala did no wrong. There is this iconic photo of a Vietnamese Colonel executing a North Vietnamese officer . The NVA officer was in civilian clothes when he was captured and executed. It so happen that the NVA had launched an offensive in the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon targeting US military bases in the famous Tet Offensive. When the story broke of the Vietnamese officer executing a '' civilian '' in broad daylight and the pictures splashed on newspapers back in the US, there were widespread condemnation But when clarification was provided with a context that the '' civilian '' was a senior officer who partook in the Tet offensive and had ditched his uniform as he made a retreat, everywhere quieted down. That's what happened in Asaba . How is it possible to gather 800 civilians and they will all stand there and be shot before a crowd? The execution and not massacre was carried on captured Biafra deserters who were lined up and executed before the Asaba crowd that were cooperating with the enemy as as a stark example of what will befall any who continues to support Biafra.
