Almost immediately after GEJ conceded to Buhari , virtually all SE PDP top guns including those like Stella Odua all rushed to decamp to PDP.

These include individuals like Ken Nnamani, Andy Ubah, etc.

Anambra PDP recorded the highest defections.

This was the same SE PDP that benefited more than any other region in GEJ's government through appointments and contracts.

One of such is currently a serving governor who GEJ awarded a $5m dredging contract of Calabar channel when he was a serving Senator despite no single capacity nor experience in such an endeavour. Not one cup of sand was dredged from that waterways. The Senator was one of the first to decamp to the APC.

Stella Odua who caused the GEJ government so much embarrassment as minister and to whom GEJ refused to sack until the scandals became too much , ran to APC.

A now late female musician from Imo, whom GEJ rehabilitated by appointing her to head a federal agency , was pictured kneeling down to then President -in- waiting, Buhari.

A mass of defections of PDP members across the polity greeted the announcement of Buhari as winner but SE PDP and Anambra PDP to be precise contributed the highest quota of defections and this was same region that GEJ favoured the most in appointments.

Also note that SE PDP did not mobilise for GEJ's reelection due to the then SE campaign coordinator of the Jonathan-Sambo , Giringori refusing to release funds .

Jonathan foolishly appointed Giringori to head his campaign in the SE despite Giringori being a recent member of the party after defecting from APGA he swore on his life he will never leave.

This did not go down with the SE PDP chieftains to have a new member appointed to head the SE campaign .

Giringori also refused to release funds and when he did , it was either too little or too late.

This contributed in great part to SE voter apathy despite the region benefiting immensely from the GEJ government through appointments and contract awards.

Out of all the Jonathan - Sambo campaign coordinators only Giringori was never picked up to answer for the Dasuki funds. This is because Giringori did as much damage to GEJ reelection by siphoning funds and not releasing it either .

A few years later same scenario will play out but this time Giringori will deny his own party and campaign team contributed funds meant for his own campaigns.
