My point is that, the moment you officially defect to a new party...if you still HOLD a position; you automatically lose that position. And that, positive is left for contestion again in a new election. You can test your popularity again in your new defected party.

The law already exists on the caveat that one can defect if the party one was elected upon has factions.

PDP and LP have factions.

Also, only a court of law can sack a defector after the defector is dragged to court by his or her original party towards reclaiming their seat.

Why hasn't PDP or LP dragged their defecting members to court to have them vacate their seats ?

Because both parties have bitter rival factions and so can not drag any defector to court.

Lagos became a state in 1968 and has had democratically elected civilian governor in 1979 up till military truncation in 1983.

Since return of democracy in 1999, Lagos has been under self rule .

The original template for the Second Niger bridge signed by GEJ was a PPP BoT agreement, that would have seen the bridge being tolled and owned by Julius Berger.

Your SE politicians then prevailed on Buhari to jettison this agreement and have the FG bear the full burden of constructing the bridge .

The project was then reviewed and since it involves constructing ober waterways, the FG decided not to partner with both Delta and Anambra other than in procurement of land at both ends.

The FG now will be fully responsible for that bridge even though Delta state has more shares in that bridge because part of the money used in funding it came from their state.

Normally ,such a project would have had the FG, Delta and Anambra as joint owners but since Anambra was not and can not pay their share of constructing the bridge in the next 100ys, Buhari decided it will be unfair to have Delta state shoulder part of the debt and cost in constructing the bridge.

Now the most ironic thing to then happen after the bridge was commissioned was your SE politicians and so-called elders demanding from Buhari that the second Niger bridge be named after a literal bridge burner in the form of Ojukwu.

This arrogance in claiming ownership of what the FG and Delta state built without a dime from your SE is a reoccuring theme amongst your people.

You want FG to come and tar the road to your village house while not demanding from those you to elected to manage the free money from Abuja.
