1. Ojukwu and APGA. Giringori is said to have sworn an oath to Ojukwu after getting the ticket in APGA for the gubernatorial race never to defect from the party. He decamped to the PDP immediately his tenure end in hopes that Jonathan will appoint him as a minister in his cabinet.

2. GEJ had made the grave mistake of appointing Giringori as his campaign director in 2015. This did not sit down well with PDP stalwart in the region who saw Giringori's appointment to handle the GEJ-Sambo re-election campaign in the SE as a slap in their face. At this time, the PDP controlled 3 out of 5 states in the region. Complaints began flowing about Giringori refusing to release funds for mobolization and when it finally came, it was too little and too late. Giringori will later align with one of the main architects of pulling down GEJ's govt by being the running mate to Alhaji Atiku in the 2019 Presidential elections.

3. Atiku and PDP. Giringori will defect to the LP after he found out Atiku was no longer interested in making him his running mate in the 2023 elections. The defection cost both Atiku and PDP the elections as Giringori split the votes that ought to have gone to the PDP.

4. Abure and LP. Abure had went all out to ensure Giringori got the ticket free of charge with no contest after defecting from the PDP. Giringori later refused to carry the party along and instead relied on his Obidient mob to handle his campaigns. This saw to non mobilization of LP party agents in over 90,000 polling units across the north. After the elections which he lost, the National executive of the LP led by Abure demanded an audit of all campaign funds but was rebuffed by the likes of one Aisha hijabi queen. Giringori sided with his internal mob faction and plans were hatched to unseat Abure with the formation of an illegal NWC that was formed in Umaiha, Abia. This led to factionalization of an already factionalized LP. Court cases were instituted and Abure won and Giringori and his mob then decided it was time to leave after Abure drop Giringori's kryptonite that there must be primaries. Giringori and his mob then defected to ADC.

5. ADC and Atiiku. After agreeing to join the ADC and promising to support whoever emerged as the party flag bearer, Giringori will later break his oath again and decide to leave the ADC after he found out that the party was hell bent on conducting primaries to pick their flagbearer. To add insults, Giringori's mob then began attacking Atiku for being the reason why they are leaving the party while ignoring that the likes of Amaechi had also insisted on primaries.

6. NDC Kwankwasso had defected alongside Giringori because both felt they could not secure the ticket given their unpopularity within the party and beyond. But the mob followers interpreted their unveiling at Dickson's house as a partnership even though there were other defectors from the ADC, PDP, LP and APC who defected as well for their own personal ambitions. Now that Kwankwasso has insisted that there must be primaries and that he is hell bent on getting the party flag, the mob will now begin to attack and ridicule both Kwankwasso and the NDC.

7. Obidients. This group comprising of Nigerians outside Giringori's ethnic group were disapointed with Giringori hopping over to the NDC. They felt betrayed because they had began mobolizing for Giringori in their respective states and building structures for both themselves and Giringori.

I love Peter Obi, but I think his latest move was a fatal political suicide.

With NDC splitting opposition votes, APC has a greater chance for reelection come 2027. Except ADC loses its cases, and it is deregistered or leadership handed over to Nafiu Bala Gombe, the opposition will again split its about 16m votes into two and hand presidency back to Tinubu.

Come 2031, power will shift to the North naturally, meaning Obi cannot contest. The coast would then be clear for Kwankwaso and Atiku to slug it out.

All those supporting PO move are selfish political rent seekers like the Okada rider, who used Obi to get to the NASS and later deflect.

My suggestion to Obi and NDC is this, reenergise the opposition by rekindling the coalition. If possible, allow ADC to present Atiku, so long as the the pending cases are resolved and a single term agreement is reached with Atiku. I mean, a furm written agreement signed by all parties. Otherwise, as it was in 2023, wherein LP coukd not man 40% of it polling units, NDC does not seem to have the structure to checkmste APC at the polls, so we are heading to the same argument of "we won, but our votes were stolen". Thereafter, the courts will do the needful.

As for Atiku, he should also put Nigeria interest above self. If AA feels the country is drifting into nothingness, he could shelve his ambition 2027, support a united opposition under NDC . Get Obi and Dickson in a room, trash out your differences, unify the opposition and take back power from APC. I thought this wee the Ibadan Agreement.
