Please shut up if you dont have anything serious to discuss. You are too ignorant of Police top hierarchy appointments to open this thread. Appointment of the IGP is the sole prerogative of the Commander-in-chief. During the IBB era, AIG Mohammadu Gambo was advanced over and above DIGs Chris Omeben and Parry Osayande ( Present Chairman Police Service Commission). The two DIGs were subsequently retired. Untill then, promotion to IGP was fairly by seniority, but upsets existed, especially where pedigree and other issues were in consideration. I used the words FAIRLY BY SENIORITY as it is practically impossible to continue to promote police entrants at the same pace to the apex. Why then do we have only six DIGs? You would be surprised that the mates of these DIGs might still be in the ACP cadre or lower. Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, the outspoken former Lagos Compol had earlier lamented that he was the same set with Musiliu Smith, then IGP and was stagnated for sundry reasons.
Nobody should begrudge Okiro his successful captainship of the Police Force nor Onovo his recent elevation. The Case of Ribadu is inconclusive. He did not, like Onovo did, bow to his superiors. He remained intransigent and paid for it! shaw!

So much for names. It's a global wahala. I have friends with weird names like: ACTIVITY, IMMUNE, DOCTOR, MANAGER, GOLD, MONEY, DIAMOND, LIGHT, etc. What's in a name? A name is just an identity. We can only raise eyebrows when it connotes negative traits that may stigmatize a child. Some parents have been denied child custody or santioned for giving their children inappropraite names. A couple in Germany named their child Osama Bin Laden. The names' registry took exception to such outlandish name capable of causing discrimination against the child. Here in Niaja, u can even name ur child Satan, who cares?
