PhonesRe: Latest Tecno Phantom 5 Pics And Full Specs by donhils:
Whizpeter:
If Samsung produced this kinda phone with the qualcomm equivalent of this MTK chipset, assuming all specs are constant, do you think they would sell it for 70k?
Can i hear you say No?
That's because Samsung is a Bigger brand and thus can afford to sell the phone for a higher price...

In the same vein, Tecno is a Bigger brand compared to those OEMs you mentioned above... They make cheap and competitive phones and Oh God, there's a reason why this is called a Flagship device...
If Xiaomi sells their redmi 70k, would you buy it?
No? Because they are still a growing brand ryt?
They lack support ryt?
Bro... I'm with Tecno on this one..
If this was an Apple product, its gonna sell for nothing less than N180k..
What is this one driving at? Do you think that Tecno is bigger than Xiaomi or you're just wallowing in ignorance? Have you ever seen any Tecno phone on Gsmarena? Tecno is a local champion pls don't even go close comparing it to xiaomi.

Higher Antutu score does not automatically translate to 'better performance', Second SIM card and FM radio are gimmicks to me, I can't remember the last time I listing to FM... Meizu m2 note is cheaper at N41k compared to N45k of this Xiaomi.
I hope you didn't mean any of the things you just said now esp that 2nd SIM and FM radio are gimmicks. Anyways, you said they are gimmicks to you but unfortunately they are not gimmicks to me.

Forget about the clocked speed, MT6795 Helio X10 is of three different versions, Xiaomi redmi note 2 is probably using the cheaper version that smokes battery like chimney.
In other hand Meizu m2 note with its 1.3ghz processor couple with IGZO capacitive screen is crispy and battery friendly, hence the 9.5 it scored on Phonearena battery test.
An average user will not even notice the speed difference on the both devices.

Oh really?? What about the absence of FM radio?, what about the 2nd SIM using sd card slot? Meizu m2 note scored 32,050 pnts on Antutu benchmarks while Xiaomi RN2 scored over 47,000 pnts, how about that if the click speed and Helio x10 meant almost nothing? and of course Meizu is more expensive.

This xiaomi is really complicating the whole matter, flash this flash that on a new phonehuh, I think Meizu m2 note is a better deal, with long lasting battery compared to this dummy looking phone with no attention to designs.

What a fugly phone!
Don't mind them with all these flashing things and recovery mode (whatever they mean), however, I don't think Meizu M2 note is a better deal. 1.3ghz processor, second SIM using sd card slot are deal breakers.

They are at the same leverage with mtn also. From the post they have 2g for N2,000 same with MTN. Also they offer 1g for N1,000 on selected sim. Don't forget mtn had quality service when they were expensive but now it's quality has reduced because of stiff competition leading to reduction in price. If etisalat continue in that direction, you and I will complain latter of poor network similar to what some persons are experiencing on glo
So in effect what are you saying? Etisalat is better than MTN or they are on the same level or what? What exactly is your point?

It's N24/min from bonus account. Their data isn't expensive neither is cheap. Data consumption rate is faster than mtn but not like airtel that drinks data like water.
These things below are not expensive? And 1k gives you 260mb.

Brother google Lumsing. They sell it for 6,000 in the US. But there is a verified seller on Nairaland. Bought from him at 7,500 last year. I have never stopped smiling.
I also use Romoss powerbank and it works perfectly well. It's rated 10000mah and it charges my 3140mah battery 3 complete times from 5% to 100% and then charge to like 15 or 20% before it finally gives up. Isn't that amazing?

Well, it's not my fault that you can't understand simple English cos I know I mentioned their services are top notch, they have the highest customer base, they have the cheapest call and data tariffs, they are everywhere you go. Didn't you see all those points or are there other things that make a network provider the best that mtn don't have or u want to blame me for your inadequacies? Or you're just typing without thinking?
Who needs attention now?

OP, are you sure you're talking about MTN Nigeria? huh

The same one I use?

The same network that deducts my airtime at will?
The same network that sends me close to 50 junk sms daily?
The same network that's threatening me that they'll block my sim if I don't re-register?

Oga, check your phone well abeg. E fit be Etisalat you dey talk about grin grin

0809ja for life cool cool
And to talk about sending junk sms, we all know Airtel is the specialist in that side, to the extent they start calling you to disturb your life about caller tunes and talk more.
PhonesRe: Samsung Galaxy A5 Anyone??? by donhils(op): 9:49am On Sep 14, 2015
Craven:
Because the Galaxy J7 is clad in plastic doesn't mean it doesn't have good features.

The Galaxy A series are all mid-range devices and are all clad in metal. But does that make them better than the S5 or the Note Series that were previously clad in plastic?

The only thing the A series does it to appeal to those who cannot afford high-end phones but wish to use a device with a premium feel.

If you take time to read about the Galaxy J7, you'll realize it offers more than the Galaxy A5.

The J7 comes with Android Lollipop out of the box, unlike the A5 that comes with KitKat although can be upgraded by the user to Lollipop.

Advantages of the Galaxy J7 over the A5:

It has a bigger battery, 3000mAh (A5 - 2300mAh)
Snapdragon 615 chipset (A5 - Snapdragon 410)
Octa-core processor (A5 - Quad-core)
Faster CPU at 1.5GHz (A5 - 1.2GHz)
Expandable memory up to 128GB (A5 - 64GB)

The only cons of the J7 include:

A smaller RAM at 1.5GB (A5 - 2GB)
No NFC support
No Corning Gorilla Glass
Clad in plastic (which isn't a problem if you don't mind)

Similarities, amongst other things, include:

Same front and back camera
Same AMOLED display

The Galaxy J7 is still rated highly than the Galaxy A5. The A5 is expensive only because of it's metal body, not because of its features. Take away the metal and you have a N44,000 phone (same as the E5 which id often called a watered-down version of the A5.
Wow, I think you should market for the J series.

No. I read about the A series some time ago. It's the same thing with the Galaxy A3. You should check out the Galaxy J7 though. It doesn't come with a metal unibody like the A5, but it is bigger and has pretty good features. Cheaper, too (N48,000). Although I think it has the same SIM/microSD slot problem.
Any plastic phone from Samsung is a no go area fo me.

The Dual SIM variant is tricky. You get only two slots. One slot for your first SIM card, and the second slot for either your second SIM card or a memory card; you cannot use both at the same time. So it is either you use two SIM cards and forgo using a memory card, or you use one SIM card and a memory card and forgo using a second SIM card.

The Dual SIM version also lacks NFC connectivity and does not support LTE or 4G.
Hmm that's not good. Do you use the phone?

How's the experience? Battery, performance, is it snappy or lags like other Samsung phones, can it play high graphics games like Asphalt 8, fifa 15, dead trigger, zombie highway 2 etc?
