But I want to understand something, are you saying that apart from rivers state, there was no rigging in other states?? Larride that's a very important question. Do you genuinely believe that rivers state is the only state where election results were rigged and nothing of the sort happened in other states??

Seankafor, is this really what life is for you? MallamChukwudi: A few weeks ago, I spoke to a Yahoo boy that lives here in Berlin. He was eating at the same Nigerian restaurant I went to eat at, one sunny Sunday.
He thought I was a G boy, so was asking me about some stuff I didn't know about, if I knew someone that deal with bank accounts, or if they could use mine to forward hundreds of thousands of euros.
I told him no, that I am employed, and jokingly complained about how the tax man is billing me yearly for income tax, that I didn't pay enough the previous year.
Then we got talking and he went on to narrate how he envied ordinary folks that go to work daily, the simple calmness in their soul, and how they could access things that he cannot even access even if he has more money than them. I asked for more explanation, and he continued.
He said we do not have the fear of the future, that his affluent reality can come to a stop any day the law ever catches up with him. That when he hears a knock on his door, he fears so deeply to open even if it's the postman.
He will only open the door when he is sure he is expecting someone and the person is around. How he tries not to involve the authority for anything even if it's perfectly legal, due to fear of igniting any event that will shine a torchlight on his affairs that may lead to an arrest.
That ordinary working folk can simply get a mortgage and buy a house, but he can't since that would lead to questioning his source of income. The guilt he felt because of the people he has harmed by stealing from them, and when bad things happen to him, he wonders if it's karma.
He has three daughters and has always wished for a son, but wondered if God gave him only daughters to punish him for his philandering. His three daughters are from two different women.
For him, the most important thing he complained about was peace. He misses having peace, and that peace is priceless. That sometimes, he doesn't sleep long due to unnecessary fear.
His wife also knows the job he does, which hints at her moral failure, and he fears that she will use it against him if there is any conflict between them. His source of income is like a dagger under his belly.
I was not shocked hearing all these, since I understand very well the cause-and-effect nature of things. But it was refreshing hearing all these from him, as it made me appreciate my own struggles. I pitied him, and ask him why don't just stop it.
He responded that he can't. It's the only job he knows, and he has gone so far that he can't be earning wages that won't sustain his lifestyle. Then I asked how he got a residence since he doesn't work and didn't study. Then he said that was another mistake he regretted.
He came on a visitor visa, was desperate to stay permanently, and impregnated any available woman, to legalize himself.
I was then wondering why he was telling me all these things, which I consider a personal secret. And he said I give the vibe of someone that can empathize, and also, talking about it eases the pain a bit, especially to strangers he won't see again.
He then got a call and left. Probably someone will meet him outside. We shook hands and told me bye. After I finished eating and was about to pay, the waiter informed me that he has paid for my meal. I was thankful but had an unpleasant feeling that he paid for my food with some kind of blood money.
Such an encounter opened my eyes to a reality I have known to exist, but not met anyone in it. It reminds me of the quote that there is no peace for the wicked, no honor amongst thieves, and that what you sow, you shall reap. |

You people need to start showing us evidence of these things instead of regurgitating Rivers State election that almost even called a sham here the day of the election. But I did that for about a week on this thread. I was highlighting soo many irregularities that took place across the different states that showed Obi being rigged in those units. His numbers erased while the opponents were increased. Well, here are some again, in Lagos ebonyi and imo. Abi you want us to believe that what happened in rivers was only in rivers state??

Page 2600. To celebrate this land-mark, I'm reposting this post highlighting these my personal best series over the years. Donjazet2: Okay so these are my very best season movies of all time! Across all genres.
What makes a good season movie for me are;
-wonderful storyline or scriptwriting, that is, good intricate interwoven plotlines that leave you wanting more. Eg, Breaking bad, sense8, the wire etc. -Superb cinematic production value. Series that when you watch, you see that money was well spent, the asthetics, scenery and the likes were well crafted. Game of thrones, legend of seeker, the west wing.
Top notch Creativity. Wonderful performances from the actors. Olivia pope in scandal, Annalise Keating in HTGAWM. Jack Bauer of 24 etc. Malik of mr robot. House of cards.
Of course educative and informative.
So these are my very best seasonal movies. Many possess all or most of the qualities i listed above. I just couldn't get enough. Although some disappointed with the endings but the vast majority were jaw dropping.
Ps; i love all genres of series apart from maybe "religious and conservative series". My favorite genre has to be political drama series. Any series that has the office of the president or a form of government intrigue, constantly features the white house or pentagon or other bureaucracy like the CIA, FBI or the likes. So sometimes this can mix up with detective series. But political dramas like west wing, house of cards, scandal, veep, 24 are some of my favorite.
In no particular order but my top 5 being the very best before the rest of the best. The wire Game of thrones The west wing (i cannot overemphasize this series enough) Breaking bad 24 Midnight mass Squid games. House of cards Fargo Ozarks Peaky blinders True detective Homeland Fringe Mr robot. Money heist. Elite Veep How to get away with murder Vikings Scandal Better call Saul Boston legal Person of interest Suits Desperate housewives. Billions Succession Narcos Criminal minds Smallville (just personal appeal) Madam secretary The boys
There you have it! There is not a single series you would watch on this list that you wouldn't enjoy and want more. These are the very best of entertainment from my experience.

BlueRayDick: I know cooking is not easy that’s why I don’t see the need for cooking for days straight just to break a record that gets broken every now and then.
We have hard copy of Guinness book of records 1996 edition in my house while growing up . Most of the records in that book have long been broken with time and people have even long forgotten some of the people featured in that 1996 edition . Maybe that’s why I don’t really see the need for going through all those stress just to enter the book .
As for Kaffy truly breaking the record helped her to attain fame but it’s just mostly in the Nigerian entertainment industry . It’s not like she started performing for major big artists all over the world . Same way I see this Hilda own will just make her more popular here . Not like the queen or pope or Biden will invite her to be their personal jollof rice chef after breaking the record This isn't necessary. Anything that gives positive validity is nice. Positive records are a good thing. One carving out a niche for themselves as the best in anything in the entire world is highly commendable. As for the "Guinness world records", what they do is absolutely fantastic and immensely invaluable. Just think about this, there are 8 billion people in the entire world and someone provides a service that marks out those that are very unique and have set records in various endeavors of our humanity and existence. I don't think you grasp what this girl is about to achieve. Out of 8 billion people in the world, she's about to be known as the only person out of 8 billion to have cooked food the longest. She has carved a niche for herself that will boost her brand and popularity after this, not to mention the positive representation of her people and nation. I tell you, there is absolutely nothing to condemn here. She should be commended and praised. This kind of things are what makes life beautiful. These kind of feel good moments. Moments to cherish. |

A very wonderful post. Highlighting the pros and cons of "japa". Very balanced indeed. Hamachi: What are the pros and cons of living abroad? It depends if you are moving for financial or non financial reasons, and how long you move for.
What are the pros and cons of moving back to your home country after living abroad?
What are the pros and cons of moving abroad, and where are some good places to live? Let´s start with the cons to get that out of the way first
1. The more countries you have lived in, the more you loose a sense of belonging (at least I feel that way). I have lived in 9 different ones and although I have of course great memories and part of my heart is in all of them, I feel I belong nowhere and certainly not in my home country anymore either.
After so many years I crave a sense of belonging, a base to call home (even if it just means to be there a couple of months a year), friends I do not have to say goodbye to every few months or years. And no, to stay in touch on Social Media is not the same at all, I personally create bonding through shared experiences and not by living in past memories.
2. If you move a lot and you know you will not be in a place for a very long time, you wonder if it makes sense to emotionally invest in relationships and friendships and I think sometimes relationship become more superficial because building them takes time and commitment and you know you will leave again and who wants heart breaks.
3. Depending on your age group, aging parents back home suddenly become a concern. One is far away and cannot just jump in a plane and is home in one hour. A sense of guilt sets in even if your loved ones give you no reason to feel guilt and its only in your head. And you also realize time becomes more precious and one is far away.
4. When you get home you realize your friends are more or less still the same, they have aged too, might have created a family, changed jobs, etc. but essentially they are still the same. You on the other hand have changed, its unavoidable. Your horizons have widened and you might not have that much in common with old friends anymore. There is a sense of loss and sadness.
5. Depending on where you are abroad, romantic relationships can take a back seat. If an independent western single women in her late twenties or thirties comes for example to Asia with the hope to not only find professional opportunities and adventures but also a partner to create a family with, I would say, think twice, your choices will be limited, but that is a topic for a different question.
6. The longer you are in a certain region the more difficult it will be to go back to your home country if you ever want to return, because your skills and experiences will become more bankable in your new country than in your home country. If your business is online it’s a different story of course.
7. Loneliness can also be an issue. If you do not consider yourself the love of your life and enjoy time alone too, you will struggle, because it is unavoidable that there will be moments when you will be alone, especially if you just arrive in a new place. And when you get sick its also not exactly fun.
8. Constantly having to let go is sad, at least for me. I do not like to let go of things, people, places that entered my heart, but sometimes life changes and there is nothing you can do about it.
In many places (such as Singapore, Dubai for example) people are in transit, they stay for a couple of years and then they move on, you might loose a job and the work permit that goes with it and the list goes on. If you have no plan B, the stress level rises.
9. You feel often disconnected if you do not speak the local language, but might also not live there long enough to really fluently communicate. Some languages especially for westerns are just not so easy to learn (thai is one of them).
The frustration you feel when you start learning a new language and can only express yourself like a 2 year old in the body and with the mind of a grown up person.
10.
Personally I also feel sometimes alone, when there is nobody who shares a certain sense of humor. Humor is often very different and culture specific. I can laugh my head off about certain things or situations and my colleagues just look at me and wonder what that is all about.
And they laugh about certain things and I cannot see what is funny about it either. Laughing is also about bonding with people, so I can say sometimes I miss bonding over a shared sense of humor.
Now that we are done with some of the cons, lets talk about the wonderful pros.
1. You change for the better
2. You become more tolerant
3. You become a better Ambassador of your home country when you return. I swear, whenever I return home, I am particularly friendly to anybody who is foreign, I feel so connected because I am a foreigner in other countries too, so I want them to feel welcome and leave with good memories.
4. Once you have lived abroad, this place will never ever be just a dot on the map. It will penetrate your memory, it will become part of your history, if you disliked your experience or loved it does not matter, it will never leave you indifferent anymore.
5. You develop courage and learn how to overcome obstacles
6. You learn to rely on yourself
7. You realize that essentially all people in the world are the same, we are just shaped by different education, background, beliefs, etc. but we all want to be respected, loved, heard and acknowledged.
8. You become more flexible (you just have to)
9. You age slower, because whenever you learn or see something new it feels the days are much longer and more intense. Every day is a new adventure and there is less routine.
10. Everywhere I go there is something I love and I weave it into my personality to take it with me. It is like as I go along, I create a more interesting and better version of myself (at least I think that, but that is a good start).
11. You learn to judge less and listen more.
12. You will feel more emotionally connected to the world. |

PDPGuy: Wawu!! I notice that once news like these are released, the first thing people do is automatically blame the woman and call her a liar or a gold digger BUT what if it is actually true?? What if indeed she was sexually harassed?? Why are the women constantly demonized or are called demons and liars in situations like these when all of us indeed do know and agree that all over the world, women are the overwhelming victims of domestic abuse, be it physical violence and abuse via traumatizing heavy violence or sexual abuse via rape and lack of consent when they don't want sex but are forced?? We do know that females are on the receiving end of domestic violence, globally. So why is it that when these kind of news come out about rich and powerful men (who are by nature, egomaniacs and more prone to be abusive) beating or harassing their partners, we come out in defense of these men and see the women as evil, why is this so? |

Off the top of my head, my best action series I've watched in which "action" is described as entertaining violence, be it tactical warfare, dramatized fight scenes, modern fights, (gun battles) or anachronistic fights (sword fights) eg vikings, legend of the seeker etc. Basically, constant presence of blood. They are; 24, Homeland, vikings, GOT, peaky blinders, jack Ryan, 911, macgyver, legend of seeker. These are off the top of my head. Maybe I will give a more detailed list later. |

You see why I constantly advocate for liberalism. Funny that dayo who is a conservative is applauding the relative liberalism of his culture. But seriously, we must do away with our archaic culture and embrace the modern world. Anyone advocating for us to do things the way our forefathers did things is getting it wrong.
