Important to note that in all these, many marketers have suspended purchase of fuel due to the whole uncertainty of things and actual price. So expect to start seeing scarcity and long fuel ques from next week when many stations run out of fuel.

This was a hit back to back.
This sums it up nicely. The issue isn't about the removal of the subsidy but the very terrible enactment of the withdrawal.

Nigeria is known to run a diesel economy, in the sense that our economy, our businesses, our factories within the country are powered by independent power plants. Crude is the most single important commodity in this country.

Seeing an overnight switch to triple prices without any sort of cushioning effect is massively catastrophic.

The new government was extremely careless in it's handling of this. It's that simple. Imagine that you don't yet have a finance minister, a minister of the economy, a petroleum minister, you've not yet set up any economic advisory team and you just announce such a major major policy change without envisioning the catastrophic consequences?

That's just careless. That's a gross misstep. It's getting worse because everyone is apprehensive as to what happens next. The next few weeks are heavily pregnant indeed. Let's keep watching the actions or inactions of this temporal government.

If you are given the choice to emigrate to USA\britain or Russia, which would you choose?

Which society will reward your effort best and which society will you face discrimination worse as a black man?

The US is imperfect, no world super power can be, but I'm damn sure they will be far much better than china and Russia with the same power. At least by looking at how their government recognizes and handles the rights of its own citizenry.

The ideals of democracy seen in America and other western countries is far better than what you see in authoritarian china and Russia where the restriction of individual rights and will is as rampant as can be. Highly suppressed.

For fvcks sake, Obama's story is the ultimate proof and beauty of western society, Obama's father was no different from any of our own fathers, an average African man who went to the land of freedom and opportunity in search of Greener pastures and in 40 years time got to see his son become the most powerful man on earth. Like, think about this for a minute, an Average African man who left Africa, who was a nobody in the US got to see his son become the president of the most powerful nation on earth. That is testament to the open opportunity available to all.

Today we see our black African brothers who occupy the highest positions in the western world. One adeosun in Britain, one senior black African military commander in the Pentagon. Various black American ambassadors representing America in Europe and UN, successfull African entrepreneurs across America.

Show me any prominent African in china or Russia, so miss me with your hypocritical bullshite.
Many of you here supporting Russia would be on the fastest plane to America if you were given a choice between Russia and america but of course it's easy to support Russia while you're far detached from the realities of Ukrainians who were literally being invaded.

Obidients and nigerians at large understood and endured willingly, the pain of naira scarcity because we all could see the end of the tunnel.

We all knew and believed that cash crunch on election day could be a good thing in a country where people were ready to sell their votes for urgent 2k and corrupt wicked politicians with 2 bullion vans in their homes could do and undo, so we swallowed the pain of the cash crunch knowing that on or after election day, that problem will be over and hindsight has proven us correct.
In as much as the election results were rigged and voter intimidation rampant, vote buying was severely curtailed in the last elections. We barely saw any video of people sharing cash on election day unlike previous elections.

Comparing that with this subsidy issue where even the government is confused on what to do next not to talk of ordinary nigerians not knowing what to do next or what is in store in the future exhibits your terrible partisanship which has beclouded your judgement. Do better, native abortion doctor.
