Mr man no one is talking about religion here. Tell us how difference in anatomy makes a man and a woman not equal like you claimed in the society.
Melvyn, away from this, I would like to know your opinion on transgender folks.

I personally is as liberal as can be but I personally do not subscribe to the notion of transgenderism.

I'm peeved at people who suffer who I believe to be "acute identity crises" having a free room to cause and inflict irreversible "damage" to their bodies and doctors easily approving these kind of medical procedures.

What's your opinion on this?

You're too big for that.
You made a wrongful blanket statement which I'm trying to make you see is wrong or which you already know is wrong, your pride can't let you backtrack so you resort to this.

You said "woke culture is bad and shouldn't be brought to Africa" to which I'm asking you to expand on that statement and you're basically going round in circles. Acknowledge you goofed a little. It's no big deal at all.

If A = B, A is the same B. A man is different from a woman at the biological level. So they're not equal.
Simple question although you've answered it already.

Man and woman are different biologically, just like Africans and Asians and Europeans are different morphologically, do you think that impugns upon their fundamental basic rights?

Point to where I said "today's feminists are toxic" in the post you quoted.
You said so at the bolded.

A001:
In modern times, I don't take most feminists seriously.
Today, I feel the movement has practically lost its relevance. Unlike those brave feminists of the past, today's feminists are more or less opportunists.
It's pertinent to point out that men and women are not equal -- and can never be equal. But both should have equal rights.

But today's feminists are mostly toxic women.

People should not be discriminated against based on gender, as proponents of the LGBTQ+ movement aver.

No, they're not. A simple look at the anatomy of a man compared with a woman's shows they're different.
How does being different corelate with being unequal?

A001:
In modern times, I don't take most feminists seriously. However, the history of feminism is rich and interesting, especially in the US and the UK.

Even as a man, I shared the beliefs of prominent feminists in the US such as Jane Addams, who was a strong advocate for women's rights and played a leading role in the women's suffrage movement in the 20th century. In the past, women were not allowed to go to school, vote, run for public office, and do certain jobs in many parts of the West.

Women like Jane Addams and Susan Anthony fought hard to promote women's rights, and they achieved laudable feats. Over the years, feminism had gone through various phases: first wave, second wave, third wave, and fourth wave.

Today, I feel the movement has practically lost its relevance. Unlike those brave feminists of the past, today's feminists are more or less opportunists.

It's pertinent to point out that men and women are not equal -- and can never be equal. But both should have equal rights.

I support gender equality: Women should have the same access to education, job opportunities, and political representation as men.

Also, I support gender equity: The idea of fairness and justice in the way that men and women are treated, taking into account their different needs and experiences.

These are the good principles upon which the original feminist movement was established. But today's feminists are mostly toxic women.

People should not be discriminated against based on gender, as proponents of the LGBTQ+ movement aver.
If I ask you what your evidence is for the premise you just made that "today's feminist are toxic", you wouldn't be able to justify that statement.

What you should know is that wrongful generalizations like these are what dissidents and naysayers of movements like these, people seeking to halt these kind of advances seek to use as a justification to malign the movement and their goals.

You have just admitted that you agree and admire the successes of the feminist movement, now what makes you think that modern feminism is "toxic" as you've put it?

What exactly is toxic about the feminist movement? The appeal for equal opportunities and equal rights? Or you believe we have already attained that and there isn't any need for it again?

feminism, women having equal rights with men in Nigeria/Africa environment
See ehh, I know how very easy it is to dunk on the "feminism movement" in order to appear cool, to feel fly especially in spaces and environments like these that are predominantly male dominated.
You know, just like a bully who oppresses a weakling to the cheering and ovation of others too timid or unwilling to challenge the bad ordeal.

Maybe a good context or reminder of how far we've come as a society and what the feminist movement has achieved especially in the last few decades for women will rehabilitate this ignorant view of women you have consistently had.

1. Many years ago, women did not have the right to vote not to talk of even contesting for any leadership positions. Today their voices are now heard as equally as men.

2. Women had no say in their choice of marriage. Her family decided for her who she married (still happens in some societies today) but it has largely subsided.

3. A woman who wasn't a virgin was basically ostracized in the society and unmarried in society. Very different from the man. (Still happens albeit in a different form, with the different standards set for men and women who are promiscuous with sex). The man who loves sex with multiple women is called a "player", the woman is called a whore_and a slut_.

4. A woman was basically viewed as a property of the man, such that a father could use his own daughter to settle a debt to someone else.

So you see, the feminist movement over a 100 years have sought to seek for society to acknowledge that they are human beings in their own rights. Capable and conscious 9g making their own decisions.

I pointed out here few days ago, how roles that were traditionally male dominated were being occupied more and more by females. From Police force to military to architects and others. I mean, if you go to the US, you will be shocked by the sheer number of taxi and bus drivers that are female. Roles which in Nigeria is still predominantly male.

This idea of consistently dunking on the feminist movement because they seek equal rights and opportunities is wrong especially coming from black people. Another group that has been largely marginalized by other societies..

It truly pains me when I see black people stump on other minority groups. It displays a lack of self awareness.
In the same US that you're condemning for these movements, black people and women rights groups have fought side by side for emancipation from subjugation but you come to a black society like ours and see the opposite happening.

The feminist movement has been a force for good for women. It has seen to the rapid growth and integration of women into the society. It's unfair that men continue to use them as a punching bag while speaking from a position of privilege.

And lastly it's funny pointing out this irony. Few days ago, many were sounding excited about the prospects of a first ever female governor in Nigeria but today are dunking the movement that enables such.

But come to really think of this, Nigeria, one of the biggest and most prominent country in Africa is yet to have a female leader. Let that sink in and tell you how underprivileged the women in our society are.

You claim you want the best for this country but you decide to close your eyes and support the very same status quo that has stagnated and regressed the country.

You support a candidate with extremely shady and criminal background. A proven corrupt kleptocrat and a visibly sick and frail leader.

You claim to be religious but you support a candidate whose values are against all the core tenets of your religion. Is that not hypocrisy?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 9:51pm On Apr 24, 2023
I had to break my haitus.

It's only in Nigeria we'll see people cheering a political leader whose whereabouts has been entirely unknown. Total blackout and of which there has been sufficient reasons to doubt the health status of the person. No healthy democracy will have such nonsense. The press is always supposed to know the whereabouts of the public official. When he finally emerges, we now see evidence of him having received one treatment or the other. Hmm

These people keep taking us for a ride and they do this because they have enablers. Literate and educated enablers who should know better but who are guided by basic primordial sentiments such as religious affiliation and tribalism.

Don't forget that hitler thrived because ordinary masses cheered him on. The Communists in east Germany thrived because ordinary masses offered themselves as useful tools of the state. Decided to be members of the statsi and turn against and snitch against their fellow citizens..

We have the same thing here. But this time by more sinister folks borne out of what can only be called wickedness.

It is wickedness to flee this country because of bad governance and then from a safe distance lend support to the same class of wicked elites that have brought us where we are.. I would say, seek your consciences but I know you guys have none. Just keep cheering on evil, it will definitely catch up with you guys.

Whoever did this is a very stupid person.

This is the height of misrepresentation of stats and Infact pedagogical weaponisation of statistics.

This stats is saying there are more poor people per square mile (in other words, land mass). Of course, south east will top this because it is virtually the smallest region of all bia landmass. . Notice how the map is almost in order of physical size of each region. From south east to south south to south west. If this stat for instance was between Russia and Britain. Britain will come out as pooreer just like the south east because the preogative is the physical size of the are. Britain will have more poorer people per square kilometers despite having overall Less poorer people because in Russia the poor are more spread out.

Very stupid stat this is.

Paying a reasonable level of tax is fine until politicians start becoming frivolous with it. Nobody will complain to pay tax to cover emergency services, free education to secondary school, military, infrastructure, healthcare and shelter for the homeless

It's when they start paying stuffs that should be personal responsibility that I begin to vex

eg free school meals for kids when those kids parents can afford to smoke 20 cigar per day. I still dey vex with Marcus Rashford over that matter.

The one wey off me na when Scotland mandate all public bathroom to have free tampons for women and labelled it "period poverty". So you telling me there is a single woman in Scotland that cannot put aside 50 pence from her monthly budget for that time of the month?

Everything is nice until its time to pay money.
There are certain things the right does that I dont 100% agree with like abortion religion and stuff but I think I love keeping my money more than pontificating about abortion rights or who should worship what
But one cannot detach these things by themselves, republican values represents societal retrogression while on the other hand it can be argued quite rightly that democrat presidents have handled the economy much better than their republican counterparts.

Democrats control and have controlled at least 10 of the 13 wealthiest states in the US for the better part of 3 decades.
California, newyork, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Washington, Maryland, Colorado etc while republicans have controlled only 3 of the top 13 wealthiest states, Texas, Florida and Georgia.

So an argument could be made that recent precedence and history shows that democrats handle economy's better than their republican counterparts.

Bill Clinton remains the only US president in recent history to run a budget surplus. I don't buy this myth that republicans are better with people's money. No! They focus on only the top 10 percent while deserting the remaining 90 percent and that is dangerous for any government or society. It'snt egalitarian.
