OP your heading is misleading ooooo. |
Not surprising, what do u expect from a comatose patient with a nurse in charge rather than a doctor... ;DNot surprising, what do u expect from a comatose patient with a nurse in charge rather than a doctor... |
Ewa in Yoruba means beans and same in Urhobo, but there are Urhobo words for beans which are peculiar to "Us" i.e the ésha is a different specie of beans while the white one is called "iré". So depending on your dialect/part of Urhoboland you hail from they could mean one and same or different, as for me I am from Olomu and iré and ésha are distinctly different. |
I believe all languages borrow from other languages at a point in time, so no language can't b quite unique to itself without some form of interference from other languages. Again we should understand that languages evolve around the environment in interacts with e.g the Portuguese call gold "Oro" and that is what the Urhobos also call it probably as a result from interactions with the Portuguese. Finally, let's all realise that language is dynamic and not static. |
We may have 2 absolute beauties, but we haven't really created clear cut chances. If the Mexicans were clinical we would have been in serious trouble. |
Goal.......That was hot like Urhobo pepper soup!!!!! |
Mexicans are killing us via the wings.. |
Looking into yonder, I see the blunder
Of today's youth, whose tooth
Is only white, for the white collar job
Knowing well that the drama
Can leave you in a coma
An aroma that isn't palatable, when served on the table. |
People before commenting please read the story/report. It wasn't the Governor who did, but the MOE did via a letter from the Commissioner of Police of the state. |
With this judgement it simply reveals the A/Ibom tribunal was economical with the truth. Was the election that brought Wike in free and fair? no! Would Wike have won the election without rigging? Yes, but not with the margin appropriated to him by the INEC. I am from the Niger Delta which is pro-PDP, so that is why I find it numbing for the senseless rigging our politicians engage in, as a Nigerian all I want is free, fair and credible elections to move our country forward. |
This is a thorny matter in today's "Christianity" which is predominantly dogmatic and denominational more to the detriment of "followers" . You don't want me to marry your daughter/son because I don't belong to your denomination, yet you won't segregate me when it comes to business? Why don't you classify money Protestant or Catholic? |
Nwannem...! During spraying the money is his and after spraying/displaying they r mine. Wetin concern agbero with overload. |
"Gyming"... is that even a word? |

Saraki looks perturbed, while Tinubu seems to be enjoying his. |
This is simply why we are not moving forward, citizens defending narrow and parochial interests. By the way who cares if they do not PMB's portrait in the offices? How does it change the price of petrol, exchange rate or stop corruption? |
If this na true ehn, Aregbe don dey kolo! Im own primary 6 certificate dey with am? |
And how does that remove from PMB as President or how does that affect the price of petrol in Nigeria? |
I sidon dey watch till I hear official news.. |
Even basketball sef don catch the change bug! Congrats Nigeria, it can only get better. |
This is ingeniously creative, way to go OP! |
Employment's Signature? You've to b kidding me! |
Nice write up @Op but @all what's the way forward to solve this menace? For me this problem is a symptom of our bastardised educational system, I remember in the early 90s students in SS classes acted stage plays and I personally one day looked forward to being on stage myself. When my time came teachers and students alike weren't interested and since then that reading culture has been plagued by some many hydra-headed monsters bleeding our educational system dry. I still have hope though, because recently at a school where I taught we organised a debate between the SS 1 and 2 students and we were amazed at what we saw, more gladdening was when those in primary came to us insisting they wanted their own debate. We obliged them and we were blown away by what this pupils did during the debate, I was speechless! And it dawned on me all these kids need is encouragement, an example and a little nudge and challenge and you will see them flying out the blocks. |
Sometimes I am tempted to agree that a lot of Nigerians don't want this country to move forward! |
Where are the wailers? Why e no be North na?.. |
President Muhammadu Buhari is set to appoint Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu as NNPC GMD. Dr. Kachikwu is the Executive Vice Chairman ExxonMobil Africa and hails from Delta State. |
Like seriously, how many of us are active and card-carrying members of both political parties? I suppose not much, na to jump up and down on NL and abuse each other while the real benefactors are in their offices chilling in ACs. Today na Monday make una take una time ooooo, before I sue somebody for too much argument! |
OP and et al una like argument sha, anyway all u said only gives credence to what a lot of Nigerians saw during GEJ's tenure i.e massive corruption that leaves you shocked and doubting your faith. Let's stop this back and forth and join hands in supporting PMB to move Nigeria forward, Nigeria belongs to Nigerians and PMB,GEJ,APC or PDP. May God continue to bless and raise our country! |
I asked my students to define "Checks and Balances" in their Government exam and this is what a student wrote for me..
