PoliticsRe: Which Northern States Do You Think Peter Obi Can Win? by donnie2016: 3:56pm On Jan 18, 2023
jumper524:
None.
But if he works harder, he might win benue and Abuja.
But dude is too relaxed while other parties are making moves.
count him out of Benue state.l'm here and he's practically not on the ground .Even the governor who spoke good of him has been on campaigns but is asking the people to vote for "all PDP candidates"without any one mention of Obi or labour party

It takes men with God's heart to accept that. We have such in our family too. Its not easy adopting and training someone else's children.
The worst part is when they are grown, the first thing they do is finding their way to their biological father's house!

You are partially right but hon undende will give suswan a tough fight plus alia popularity in zone A will give tinubu votes though suswan will win.ortom failure plus the division in pdp between ortom and atiku camp will give tinubu victory in zone B while zam or gbillah will win senate.
In zone c,Daniel onjeh is very popular same as david mark daughter.young alhaji is there plus lp has weakened pdp.I see onjeh defeating Moro.so while apc is divided, pdp is more divided.at least akume dominates apc and all are campaigning for tinubu,in pdp we have ortom camp, suswan camp, ayu camp, mark camp and not all are supporting atiku.plus, benue people are not ready to vote for another fulani after what they suffered from buhari.they rather vote tinubu afterall their issue is with fulanis not muslims..
Aondoakaa is not grassrooted and the court has barred him.gemade relevance is only in konshisha.am sure tinubu will reach out to him
One thing works miracle in politics anywhere in the world: money.Theoretically what you said could have been true, but once money enters,it changes everything on the ground.Secondly,in politics, it's the elites that decides and not the common man. This may help you in understanding why candidates popular with the masses don't always win elections in Benue state and anywhere else.Think of unongo, ugba etc

Not possible. The state is overwhelmed by three PDP heavy senators. Those three senators don't lose whether their constituents like them or not.And the APC here is a house divided against itself even as Akume has ensured that paper weights and baby politicians emerged as flagbearers for very high profile positions like senatorial and house of representatives. The likes of Gemade, former justice minister Aondakaa though members of the party but has been excluded from any of its affairs by Akume

PoliticsRe: G5 Governors Will Soon Shut Door Of Reconciliation - Wike Warns PDP by donnie2016: 5:42pm On Jan 14, 2023
ecolime:
Wike and Co. should just forget about PDP at the central. Their relationship is strained forever.

Fulani men no dey forget. Atiku go do am strong thing even with a 'fake reconciliation'.

G5 surest bet is working with Peter Obi if they don't wanna lose all relavance after February.
I'm from Benue state and what's on ground here makes it very impracticable for Ortom to work for Obi.While Ortom is pushing for the PDP, Herman Hembe who's his arc political enemy and gubernatorial candidate of the labor party is pushing for Obi.At the same time, labor has set of candidates for various positions(though paper weights/jokers) busy campaigning hard against Ortom and PDP in general, so how do Ortom suddenly start endorsing Obi on the ground?mind you that given the level of illiteracy here, it's party symbols that are used in campaigns and not candidates as you may think.
PoliticsRe: G5 Governors Will Soon Shut Door Of Reconciliation - Wike Warns PDP by donnie2016: 5:34pm On Jan 14, 2023
LilMissRobbie:
Wike is Obidient. Two G-5 governors have openly sided with Obi, the rest are on track too. If they aren't speaking in one voice, don't you think that there would've been problems amongst them by now? It's just a matter of time now.
I'm from Vandeikya in Benue state. The governor is currently on a campaign tour of my senatorial zone A.He just completed the tour this evening in konshisha local government and in all of his stops,he never mentioned Obi's name or labour party anytime, rather he is been persuading the people to"vote for all the PDP candidates"so I don't understand why you guys go on the internet saying Ortom has endorsed Obi

They keep holding campaign without their presidential candidate in the country.
l was there live!Atiku was actively campaigned for, you know Suswan is Atiku's north central cordinator. What surprised me the most is Ortom that has been looking like he's for Obi never mentioned anything to do with Obi there

I was in Jos last week, I'm happy the Christians there are fully voting for Obi Datti. Even the few bike guys and bolts I used are all OBIdiently Yusuful
This is the wild illusion that is driving this so called Obidient noise that will lead to nowhere, that Christian will go with LP.Elections anywhere in the world are determined by the elites and not the ordinary man you see on the streets. It's called the elite theory in political science and it's proven to work anywhere,no matter how civilized the environment is.l'm from Benue state and I can tell you for a fact that the winning parties in the state are either PDP or APC because that's where the elites are with the PDP having an edge. The fact we are christians doesn't make us any Obidient. Our governor that has been ranting was on a campaign trail in a place called Zaki biam yesterday and never mentioned Obi or anything labor party.l must admit that Obi is by far the most intelligent and fit of all the candidates, especially the senile thief called Tinubu and this other perpetual looter of public funds called Atiku
PoliticsRe: Atiku/Wike Face Off Divides PDP In Cross River State by donnie2016: 12:42am On Jan 12, 2023
Buddha3:
The blunt truth is, Cross River State is one of the "swing" states where this year's Presidential and Gubernatorial elections are concerned. I'll explain:

The Gubernatorial elections rest solely between Sandy Onor of the PDP and Prince Bassey Otu of the APC. The Labour Party candidate is an unknown variable whose chances are practically non-existent. Now, historically Cross River has always been a PDP state since the advent of our modern democracy, until Ben Ayade took the Governorship seat to APC. His performance in office has been 12 feet beneath woeful and the large chunk of the masses have not forgiven him for taking the state backwards in leaps. His decamping to APC didn't exactly do much to launder his already battered political image, but he has thousands of appointees who have been on the government payroll through his tenure. Those are loyalists you cannot play down. Then there is the issue of the APC governorship candidate, Prince Otu, who is very loved around Cross River for his personality. Also, it is pertinent to mention here, that there's always been a gentleman agreement on rotation of the power stool. Ayade is wrapping up the turn of the North and by virtue of that agreement, it should return to the South, where Prince Otu hails from. So, for APC, there's the power of incumbency (though from a failed governor), the presence of thousands of appointees spread across the 18 LGAs, a governorship candidate who is loved and is from the right region as regards zoning, and the option of money politics, which though plays a small part in Cross River politics but cannot be swept away completely. For PDP, there is the inherent love of the masses for the party which always plays a major role to swing votes in the party's favour, a governorship candidate who's from the Central and that defies the zoning arrangement, presence of major state stakeholders with the money politics capacity, the spread and the grassroot influence (And I have to mention that this is the one factor that can turn the election in their favour, if well harnessed). But sadly, the PDP has been too confident and are not doing enough grassroot mobilisation for this election, because they feel "Cross River is PDP", and this might cost them hugely. Summarily, neither I or anyone can confidently boast of gubernatorial victory this year. It can go both ways.

However, for the Presidential elections, the emergence of Peter Obi is a huge dent on the status quo. The 8years of Buhari's torrid reign so far inflicted pain down to the village farmers. And even though Labour Party has not come close to doing enough sensitization, the rural areas are well informed of his person and youths have taken it upon themselves to sell his candidacy. It is working. Way beyond what anyone would have expected. Cross River Facebook groups are all replete with Peter Obi, what he brings to the table, his party flag, the message of hope. Old market women even know that on the day of the Presidential elections, they're to put their thumbs next to the "family" logo. Yes, Tinubu will get votes, but the majority of the votes will be spread between Atiku and Obi. To be frank, if the PDP continues with their lackadaisical attitude towards voter sensitization simply because they still believe "Cross River is PDP", Obi will wipe the floor with Atiku, even if the margin might not be that large.

Reason I said Cross River is a swing state.
Thanks Boss for this very intelligent analysis of the cross river situation.Though I'm originally from Benue state,l have been studying and living here in Akpabuyo for some time now.Just this night,l and a neighbor has been analysing the elections as they will swing here and you just presented a perfect explanation of the situation, even though we couldn't get it this straight.l hail you for your brilliance
