This came on a day that a Benue High Court ordered the cancellation of the rescheduled governorship primaries in the state and former Vice President and APC Presidential Aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar failed to get his preferred candidate elected in his home state, Adamawa.

The Presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Adamawa State has suffered a major setback as his favourite candidate Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji was defeated in Thursday’s party primaries by Senator Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla.

Jibrilla defeated Mijinyawa repeating a feat he made in the APC Primaries in the build up to the 11th October botched by election making it the second time to defeat Atiku’s favoured candidate in about two months.

Chairman of the primary election Committee, Abubakar Yawe while announcing the outcome, described the election as the most peaceful and transparent as all the aspirants were satisfied with it.

He said four contestants participated in the primaries “We have four aspirant as governorship candidates of this primaries who alongside their agents assert all the modalities employed for this primaries.”

Yawe announced that Dr Tahir Mamman got 17 votes, Kobis Ari Thimnu scored 85 votes, Yayaji Mijinyawa scored 1,183 and Senator Jibrila Bindow got total votes of 1,880 while 24 votes were returned as invalid out of total delegates of 3,316 from the 21 LGA.

Dont mind them. I live in PortHarcourt though i am from edo. In my house, my dad and most of my siblings supported GEJ during election because one of my brother inlaw is a cousin to Tompolo and thus benefit from GEJ wastage of nigeria fund. But today, they are begining to support Buhari because they are seeing the change. There are many rivers indigene who support Buhari. And the number of south south supporting Buhari are increasing.

I am south south from Edo central senatorial district. The PDP stronghold of Edo State even though i do not support PDP. Our people supported PDP because of anthony Anenih and also because of minister of works under GEJ who is from my town. The only senator from edo state in that list is from my senatorial district.
