seunmsg:He has since joined the winning team. Who be mumu! |
Penguin2:These ones will just leave sexuality section to comment rubbish in politics section. |
Ebubu:Not only Kano and southwest bro. While the southeast can only boast of 838 delegates out of the 7800 delegates that are to participate in the convention, Kano and Katsina alone boast of 849 which is more than the entire southeast. Tinubu is the leading aspirant in these two states. Tinubu may clear the entire northwest apart from Kebbi. He can boast of at least four states in the north central if Akume supports him. If he gets three states in the northeast and clears the southwest, he would only need Edo in the South South which he would get to become the flag bearer of the party. |
Ebubu:Elected and statutory delegates would vote during a special convention for the Presidential primaries via secret ballot system. |
Some people who ordinarily should be in the romance, sexuality or celebrity section would be here discussing and analyzing politics. It's so unfortunate! Most people have been schooling them on how the primaries would go, but they've been depending on a non-existent "anointing". ![]() Now that the President and NEC have given the NWC the go-ahead to do whatever they like, this indirect primary method for electing the Presidential candidate has come to stay and all the aspirants must go to the field to test their popularity. And we all know that if APC conduct their primaries ten times, Tinubu would emerge as the Presidential candidate of the party ten times on a Wednesday afternoon (according to that weed smoker from my state). ![]() So unfortunate some people are gonna wail till 2032. |
Rollsnjaguar:Why should he be there when his boys were all present? He's busy consulting upandan, meeting people that matter. NEC isn't his problem right now. I hope you won't start wailing when he finally emerges as the flag bearer of the party come June 1st?! |
Truthisunique2:Most of you originally registered here on Nairaland for the sake of contributing on Sexuality section but along the line, you started meddling in politics because you saw people contributing here and felt you could join in the contribution. What other name do you want the party to call it? Terming the Presidential primaries a special convention is so surprising to you? What other names have they been calling it from time immemorial? Isn't it a convention? It seems you were in primary school when APC special convention took place in Lagos and got concluded almost the third day which was Monday's midnight? If you don't understand, let me break it down for you. APC is the party in power and they have so many officials. Accreditaion would take place that same Saturday. After that, the President, VP, SP, HoR Speaker, National Chairman, representative of the governors, youth leader and women leader et al would give the speeches before election proper. They would start with delegates from Abia and end with delegates from Zamfara. They would then sort the votes since the aspirants would be many before counting of votes proper would begin. Whoever gets the highest number of votes would be declared the winner and handed the party's flag by the National Chairman and other relevant stakeholders. With the above, I believe you now understand that there's no way 7800 delegates would get accredited and cast their votes within a day? It'll take at least 48 hours to get all these done. So next time think properly before contributing here. This isn't romance section! Your hatred for Tinubu shouldn't affect your sense of reasoning. |
Mooh247:They still can't vote as statutory delegates unless they are former lawmakers or former governors. |
Mooh247:Political appointees like Ministers and Commissioners are not included. |
Cajal:The likes of Amaechi and Obi are also relying on consensus arrangements. |
Nigerialabalaba:Wow. No doubt anymore then! Nasarawa is for Tinubu. |
garfield1:Razaq should still be with Tinubu. His fight with Lai is in-house i.e. within Kwara State if I'm not mistaken. I dunno of Akume though. When Jigawa State governor hosted Amaechi recently, remember they only spent 5 minutes and he avoided endorsing him! You can check dailytrust! Now I remember Omo-Agege should be with Tinubu but not so sure of Sylva (though Tinubu once stood with him in 2016 or so during Bayelsa guber. polls). Let's see how it goes though. |
Patriot9:Lol. Tinubu will win at least 18 States. No doubt! He will win Adamawa thru Ribadu, Bauchi thru Dogara and other heavyweights there, Borno thru Shettima and Yobe would be evenly shared if Ahmed Lawan doesn't contest and support Tinubu. If Buni supports Tinubu, he would clearly win there as Buni and Lawan are men of the moment in that State. Goje may likely support Amaechi since they both left PDP while Inuwa Yahaya may oppose his aspirant since they are no longer in good terms politically. If he decides to support Tinubu, Tinubu may likely win Gombe too but Amaechi would garner some votes there. Where I'm not sure Tinubu would win in the northeast is Taraba. I dunno much about that place. In the northwest, Tinubu would win Katsina provided Buhari is neutral as Abu Ibrahim and the governor are solidly behind him. Without typing much, we all know Kano is for Tinubu. Ordinarily, Amaechi should have won Kaduna but he has fallen out with el Rufai. We all saw how Tinubu was welcomed to the State when he paid them a condolence visit. Tinubu may likely win Kaduna. The likes of Yerima would surely support Tinubu so I believe he should win Zamfara. Kebbi might favour Amaechi but I can't say now. Jigawa governor has since endorsed Tinubu so he should get the State as well. With Wammako in Sokoto, it's a done deal for Tinubu there. As for North Central, Tinubu would get Kwara State as the governor there is his loyalist. The godfather of Benue, George Akume would also deliver Benue as he is Tinubu's longtime ally. Niger State governor is with Tinubu as well so winning there shouldn't be his problem. The comedian called Yahaya Bello should win his state though while Plateau should go to Amaechi because the governor is his friend. Nasarawa may also go to Amaechi too but not so sure. We all know he should clear the southwest so no need writing anything concerning that. In the South South, Edo delegates may likely queue behind Tinubu because of Oshiomhole. Cross River State governor seems to be with Tinubu too but Amaechi might win there. Delta should go to Amaechi too because of Omo-Agege. If Akpabio doesn't contest, anybody can win Akwa Ibom unless he later declares his support for any of the aspirants. I wouldn't want to comment on Bayelsa as I don't know who Sylva supports. The southeast has just 838 delegates while Kano and Katsina alone have 849 delegates so I wouldn't wanna disturb myself writing anything. They should support whoever they feel like supporting as their votes wouldn't change anything. ![]() |
Yakubu Dogara's name is conspicuously missing. |
omenkaLives:Lol.... Whoever wins between star boy and Tinubu becomes our candidate. |
garfield1:Have you heard of Akoko Edo in the South?
|
These idiots are more concerned about Tinubu's Presidential ambition instead of promoting their own aspirants. Even if Buhari has his choice for the Presidency, can he force Tinubu to stepdown for him? They'll go to the field. If Tinubu fails to win, fine. As it stands now, no aspirant can stand Tinubu during the primaries. |
MadamVanessa:Calling Tinubu a compound fool on Nairaland wouldn't stop him from becoming the President of Nigeria come 2023. Offices in your state would have Tinubu's official portraits hung on their walls as from 29th May 2023 when he would have been sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
MadamVanessa:But your likes were insulting LegendHero and others who called Pete Edochie a compound fool on the thread where he said Tinubu is too old and weak to become Nigeria's President. Hypocrites! Besides, what has Tinubu directly stolen from your state? Is he responsible for the underdevelopment in Abia State? Has he ever ruled any eastern state? Why not campaign for your preferred aspirants and leave Tinubu alone? |
DrGoodman:So he automatically stopped being good when he switched to APC? Does that even make sense to you who wrote that? |
Gentlerespect76:It's purely by merit because he's an easterner. Had it been a northerner was appointed, you wouldn't remember merit! You'd view it with your tribal lens. |
Anansa0003:Former CoS is from my community. The former commissioner from Ibillo is Akin Agbaje. |
Anansa0003:Akin Agbaje right? |
duro4chang:I'm also from Akoko Edo. Most of our people bear Yoruba names with same meaning. There are also some names in Igarra similar to that of Igbos though with different meanings. Igarra people bear Ubani, Uba and Ozioma. Igbos bear all these names too though they mean different things. |
FreeStuffsNG:The last CoS rather. Taiwo Akerele from Igarra, headquarters of Akoko Edo local government area. |
omenkaLives:Bossu, I've still been around on a low-key. Not ready for the bazookas yet though. ![]() |
Naira was 2.02 naira against the US dollar then. If we are to calculate that right now that should be 620/2.02 which is approximately 307 US dollar. Going by CBN's exchange rate of 417 naira per dollar now, that's about 128k which is still close to the monthly salaries of most level 08 workers of today. I think that 620 naira should be able to sustain him and his family for a month then. |
