Somebody like you will mention security. I won't blame you though.

Number one duty of any government anywhere in the world is to address the most pressing and challenging issue whenever they ascend the throne, in Nigeria's context, it could be insecurity, elsewhere, it may be so farther from insecurity. Can you boldly tell me that daylight robbery as it is reported under this thread is peculiar to this government alone? Tell me boldly this is the first time you will hear about Nigeria facing insecurity and many more challenges.

I will never support any government that doesn't try to scratch off where it pinches the populace the most, but attributing every bad thing that happens to the present government is what I frown at. That your candidate doesn't win does not imply that the winning candidate is a total mess.

America with her sophisticated security formation has recorded more gun killings than any country in the world this year alone. The fact is no where in the world knows absolute peace, every nation is just trying to manage what is being thrown at them.

While I urge the present government to prepare a viable atmosphere for every Nigerian, I won't participate in this blame game that is the order of the day on the internet.

I know how you feel, I felt the same thing when I got carryover in my second semester 200L, mine was even worst. I got 28 out of 100, it was like a dent in my academic career. I had 7 As out of 9 I did that semester though.

After that carryover grade in the course, I said to myself that I must have a perfect semester to atone the dent, that is, a semester with all As in my courses. To me, this will be the only way to makeup for that CO. I tried all I could from my 300 level, up till my 500l first semester, I couldn't achieve this, closest I was was 4.92. I lost the zeal to further pursue this.

Second semester 500l known for being highly eventful, excess thesis written and defenses left and right, I wouldn't bother on this promise I made to myself again, I would read normally because there was no stressing myself again. Wrote all my papers later that semester, they wouldn't let us see our final semester results normally, just a graduating list when it is ready to know our fate. I got my transcript after our convocation, I found out that I actually wrote 5.0 in that final semester, I got a sigh of relief and I could forgive myself for that 200l carryover.

Bitter, harsh but truth

So because Innoson assembles vehicles in Nigeria, no one has the right to buy vehicles of their choice again. There have been number of locally made products and we see people making their choices of rather buying/ordering from abroad.

For being an internet fraudster, that is none of my business. For claiming he raped the girl to death, it is all of my business.

I sympathize with the family of the little girl. But, I won't shy away from saying the truth, the headline claiming she was raped to death is misleading. It is not possible for a girl to be in an hotel with an opposite sex and we raise the issue of rape. It was their mutual agreement to have the sex, things only went bad for them.

While I agree that the boy will have to face the law, he could not be possibly charged for murder but manslaughter, thing could have gone the other way and he didn't kill the girl but she died during sex.

My question is, if it was the boy that died, are we going to claim he was raped to death by the girl.

Reason why we should stay away from premarital sex, if we don't look at it from the angle of religion, we should look at it from angle of law. Let's look at these two cases below;

Case 1: Two couples legally married had sex, the wife died during the sex romp. Society will simply report the wife's death as they will report any other normal death. They will say the man's wife has passed away. The man will never be charged for raping or any form of crime.

Case 2: Two lovers, never married having sex, and the lady in this case dies during the sex. Society will come with lots of allegation, from the young man raped the lady to he killed her during sex. One thing that is sure is the guy is going to face the law.

What these means is that Society frowns at having premarital sex but it is nothing contained in the constitution. Whenever the unexpected happens, it is then we will know it is a sin before law to have sex while not married.
