My question Is why do so many Generals go on compulsory retirement whenever a new chief of Army staff Is appointed. I have noticed that there are always a lot of Major Generals in the army. In which there are always no lieutenant Generals, except promoted to chief of army staff.

Also, from my years of observations, all the selected chief of army staff are always major generals before being promoted to Lieutenant Generals, when picked as chief of army staff.


What's confusing me right now and what I still can't get my head around Is why do other generals go on compulsory retirement Even when the newly chief of army staff Is being promoted to a lieutenant General, which Is superior than a major general.

Because from what I have observed, the generals that always goes on compulsory retirement are always major generals, can someone please enlighten me on this?

The Generals have to go because they can't salute or take orders from their course mate, who is now a luitenant general, so all of them have to retire to maintain the military code of conduct

Are we sure he's okay now? Or he's rushing back, fearing that he will be asked to resign because of his health?

You know i like when people are very clear and straight. I had similar thing some time ago, i had to fly back to Nigeria. Now that this is authenticated, then it opens way for other people in similar cases. This is why we always encourage people to share information. I appreciate this feedback @donrolex. So what's up? Was it a back end stuff you did? We need clarity.

No boss, I didn't do any backend stuff, I wouldn't endanger myself and my future chances ....everything was done at the department of home affairs, via VFS

Previous visa(if any)
Existing visa
Passport data page
Entry stamp into SA
Bank statement
Return ticket
Letter stating your reason for extension
Visa fee is 425 rands
VFS charge is 1550rands

You can't extend an evisa(except they have changed the modalities),you can only extend a vignette visa(sticker visa).
