I totally disagree, and it seems like most of you don't have the slightest clue of what the SAN was trying to communicate.
There is IMMENSE POWER in NAME.
In fact, a name is a powerful physical, mental, metaphysical, prophetic, and spiritual statement.
The name of a country should inspire the citizens to rise to highest or best of self.
Has Nigeria inspired Nigerians to their highest selves? With all the stealing, corruption, sabotage, backwards march, etc?
Take Biafra for example. That name inspired people who would have lost a war within 2 weeks to pull off the impossible task of fighting for almost three years. It still inspires till today (56 years after it came into being).
Israel for example has almost nothing as inspirational as its name.
Once Israels enemies hear the name, they capitulate even before fighting!
Whether the current occupiers are the real israelites of old is immaterial.
That name inspires!

I don't know what name Nigeria should take, but to say that it is not important is mistaken.
