Christianity EtcConsequence Of Nagging And Complaining. by donshaddow(op): 10:24am On Oct 18, 2015
This goes to all, especially the women like my elder sister.

I wish she could be somewhere reading this note.

Philippians 2:14

A lady who worked at the post office was approached by a customer who said, 'I can't write. Would you mind addressing this postcard for me?' After addressing it for him and writing a short message, the postal clerk asked, 'Is there anything else I can do for you, sir?' The man thought for a moment and said, 'Yes, could you add a P.S. at the end saying, "Please excuse the sloppy handwriting."' Now, there's gratitude for you!

The Bible says, 'Do all things without complaining' because when you don't, you end up hurting:

1) Yourself. Complaining leads to anger and depression. God loves you and He doesn't want you hurting yourself.

2) God. Complaining calls into question God's care, His character and His competence. In reality, what you're saying is, 'Lord, You blew it! You had a chance to fulfil my demands and You chose not to.'

3) Others. Your words affect the people around you and nobody enjoys spending time with a member of 'the cold-water bucket brigade'. Complaining temporarily satisfies our selfish nature, but it changes nothing. When you complain, you explain your pain for no gain. But here's the good news: The Bible says, '...the people became like those who complain of adversity...' (Numbers 11:1 NAS).

You didn't start out as a complainer; you 'became' that way, and by God's grace you can become a thanks-giver! Once you acknowledge your habit of moaning and fault-finding, it becomes possible to choose a better one. A bad habit is like a nice soft bed; it's easy to get into and hard to get out of.

So if you've fallen into the habit of 'complaining' - stop it!

Jokes EtcCrazy Car Names. by donshaddow(op): 12:32am On Oct 14, 2015
Names they give cars has always fascinated me.

In the beginning they were simply "Chevrolet" or "Ford" or "Kaiser". Then they subdivided that into "Model A", "Chevy Coupe", "Plymouth Sedan".

At some point we got geographic - "Park
Avenue", "Scottsdale", "Grenada", "Riviera".
Suggestive but not actual locations like -
"Colony Park". "New Yorker" and "Acadian"
seem to suggest the driver is FROM those
areas.

Astronomical - "Comet", "Nova", "Galaxy",
"Astro", "Aerostar".

At some point we got animals - "Cougar",
"Mustang", "Bronco", "Pinto", "Barracuda".
Kind of seems like trucks almost stayed alpha numerical forever "C10", "F100", "S-10" etc.

Those seem like the only model names that
made any sense. You could tell if a truck was
half, 3/4 or 1 ton by the model in all three
major brands. But then there was "Avalanche", "Luv", "Silverado", "Colorado".

We went Ole' with "El Camino" and "Ranchero". Dodge "PowerWagon" was kind of a left turn.

At some point we went nuts with alpha-
numericals on cars - "240Z", "B210", "CR-Xsi", "CT-200h", "ZC-70/90", "Q5", "Q7", "QX56".

Combinations of words with alpha-numerics - "Galaxy 500xl".

I think some names didn't mean anything -
"Celica", "Corolla", "Altima", "Beretta",
"Berlinetta", "Dino".

Some names are words but they don't really
mean anything descriptive -"Accord", "Marquis Brougham", "Escalade", "Continental", Prelude", "Alliance".

Macho and a little less macho names like
"Blazer" and "Jimmy". Names that suggest the driver is something special - "Acclaim", "Celebrity", "Ambassador", perhaps "Fair Lady", "Player", "Fit".

Combination words - "Trans-Am", "Grand-Am". "Grand" seemed like a suffix on a lot of things "Marquis Grand", "Grand Voyager", Grand Cherokee", "Grand Prix". Likewise "Supreme" was a suffix put on many models so that your neighbors could drop their jaw knowing you paid much more for electric windows and a vanity mirror. Or for the truly grotesque and snooty "Cadillac Seville Grandeur Opera Coupe". Putting an "e" on the end of words like "Grande", "Towne", Coupe" seems to jack the price and status up considerably.

Lots of 2nd versions - "Mustang II", "Bronco II". "Fury II" (and "Fury III"wink.

Just about any of the above as - "Limited",
some as "Town and Country" or "GT".
Monster Grizwald things like "Vista Cruiser",
"Estate Wagon". Honda, when they first made cars had a "Sedan" and a "Coupe".
"Sumo", "Taurus", "Sienna", "Rabbit", "Honey Bee", "Astro/Safari"

Who knows what next to expect? Maybe african towns, animals or names.... Like Oba, Igwe, Eko, Zulu etc.... Lol
CrimeBreaking News: 'huge Explosions' Rockmaiduguri - Red Cross by donshaddow(op): 10:32pm On Oct 13, 2015
Three blasts hit the city of Maiduguri in
northeast Nigeria on Tuesday killing a
number of people, locals and the Red
Cross said.

The “huge explosions” happened in the
Ajilari Cross area of the city, the AFP
reports. The area has been targeted by
similar attacks twice in the last month,
including on September 20 when at least 117
were killed.

The previous attacks were blamed on Boko
Haram, which has increasingly hit “soft”
civilian targets in recent months using
suicide bombers and improvised explosive
devices.

It was not immediately clear what caused the
latest blasts, which happened in quick
succession from 8:10 pm (1910 GMT), said
Bashir Mohammed, whose house is near the
scene.
“We are all confused and people are running
helter-skelter,” he said.
Sheriff Ahmad, a cleric in the area, said:
“Many people have been killed. I don’t know
how many and I don’t think anyone can tell
you now.”

Ahmad described seeing body parts on his
house, while Hafsat Sani, a nurse at the
nearby Umaru Shehu Hospital, said: “There
are many houses around the area and the
blasts have affected many of them.”

The hospital quickly began receiving the
Injured while police, soldiers, the Red Cross
and officials from Nigeria’s National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
were mobilised, he said.

A Red Cross official said: “Obviously there
are people that died but I don’t have
figures.”
There was no immediate comment from the
police or military while details were sketchy
as Maiduguri is subject to a night-time
curfew.

On October 1, at least 10 people were killed
and 39 injured when four suicide bombers
blew themselves up in a wave of attacks in
Ajilari Cross, which is near Maidugiri airport
and a military base.

At least two bombs were strapped to
teenage girls, witnesses and the police said
at the time.

The September 20 attack targeted a mosque
and killed football fans watching a televised
match as well as bystanders.

Amnesty International said last month that
the Boko Haram conflict had killed at least
1,600 people since the start of June in
Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon and
called for more protection for civilians.

An AFP tally puts the death toll at more than
1,320 in Nigeria alone since Muhammadu
Buhari became president on May 29.

Siena:
The portion of the tyre in contact with the road is NOT meant to be round. It is meant to have a flatter, bulgier profile. This is what provides the "footprint", so to speak. If it is completely round, then that tyre is over inflated.

The flat footprint is what provides grip. Remove that flat area, and the contact patch becomes smaller, and grip, both forwards / backwards and lateral (sideways) will reduce. That flat section you appear to have issues with is important. Even a 18-wheel rig has a flat portion where it makes contact with the road.

Over inflated tyres will:

Reduce steering self-centre effect. Resulting in more driver input to return the wheel to straight ahead after making a turn.
Cause lateral stability issues. More likely to slide sideways if a turn is taken at moderate speeds.
Cause reduced braking, braking distances will be longer.
Give a harsh, bouncy ride. More shock damage to suspension load-bearing areas of the chassis.
Increase tyre wear in the centre of the tyre tread.

205/70x15 is the wrong size tyre for the average sedan. That is the size that comes on a Toyota Hilux IF it has factory 6"x15" steel wheels.

Another aspect worth noting - a larger, lower profile tyre MOSTLY runs LESS pressure than a smaller, higher profile tyre, fitted to the SAME car. An example:

2014 Toyota Prius, 195/65x15: 32 psi.
2014 Toyota Prius, 225/45x17: 36 psi.

An Okada (100 - 250cc engine) has skinny tyres. These require greater tyre pressures than the average family sedan to be anywhere safe to ride. Typically 36 - 44 psi, depending on model and bike manufacturer's recommendation. We're talking about a bike that weighs around 165 kilos with an average size adult.

I'm beginning to see the relationship between the all too frequent RTA's in Nigeria. Running tyre pressures approx. 3-4 psi above the manufacturer's recommendation MAY not be dangerous. Running 8 psi and higher WILL make a marked difference to the way a vehicle behaves, and I'm not talking positive differences. Tyres pressures are also set based upon the sort of suspension fitted to the vehicle in question.

My apologies for digressing here, but once you delve further into why vehicle manufacturers recommend certain tyre pressures, it is difficult not to seemingly digress. Keen technicians who under the dynamics of a motor vehicle WILL however understand.
That's why you the boss!

I bow for you.. Well articulated article!

Thanks for your seamless contribution.

I go above but certainly not 40psi

Front i usually have 32-35psi as acceptable range while back is 30-32psi.

Manufacturers recommendation or less than that the tire looks under deflated for my liking and a little effect i feel on the steering while on high speeds especially while making corners.
Perfect, still within recommended limit.

My cars are all Quattro, and the tyre pressures differ from those of FWD models. I go by the values in my Owner's Manual, also repeated in the fuel filler flap.

No one knows the best settings for a particular model better than the manufacturers themselves. It would appear you know better than Audi themselves. I repeat - there are several factors that determine the optimum tyre pressure settings for a vehicle. Mass in service is just one of them.

Here is the inside of the fuel filler flap of one of my vehicles. This is a 2000 Audi A4 2.5 V6 TDI Quattro:

I had a serious arguement with a manager of a service bay in a popular filling station in Abj. This guy was too full of himself. Though their wheel balancing and alignment is usually good but they insist on inflating tire to 40psi. One time i insisted he does as i instructed but the guy told me "you dont know anything".

I had to show him what was written on the door and tire (inflate to 40psi max which had a corresponding maximum weight). The guy saw that as a justification for what they do. I told him max stands for maximum, and cars have different weight and pressure specifications so the warning on the tire means if a car specifies above 40psi, this tire is not suitable for the car.

The man wont have anything i said and wont budge after insisting that he should treat my property as ordered. He went ahead without my consent to inflate to 40. I told him he wasted his energy as i would stop by their gate were a road side vulcanizer is to deflate to what i want and he cant stop me.

I prefer roadside mechanics to the high end so called mechanics that always take me for a fool even when i know they are lounging in ignorance. Roadside mechanics do as ordered with no questions asked but those ones manning expensive equipment think the know all.
God bless you for your contribution... Please stand by recommendation from manufacturers.

There is something in Auto Industry called Specifications which contradicts the above post and title of this thread.

We have Peugeot 406s produced in 2001. They are all have different recommended Tyre sizes and Tyre pressures. Some came with Steel wheels, while some have Alloy wheels from factory. Some have R15, while some have R16. Some have size 195/65, some 205/60 and some 205/55. The same way they all have different recommended Tyre psi. The same goes with Peugeot 407, 607, etc.

Each Peugeot car has recommended wheel sizes, Tyre sizes and psi stamped on each. That is the way to go, for me. Pay attention to your car to learn this things, because not all free information found online serves one.

Wrong. The recommended pressures don't depend solely on your vehicle's body weight. It also depends on:

Wheel size.
Tyre profile.
Suspension type.
Engine output.
Tyre construction (number of plies).

You state body weight, which is WRONG. Let me give you some examples;

2015 Toyota Hilux 3.0 Invincible, Double Cabin.
Power output: 169hp.
Wheel size: 8x17.
Tyre size: 265/65x17.
Kerb weight: 2030 kgs.
Tyre pressure: 29 psi.

2013 Toyota Prius HSD.
Power output: 134hp.
Wheel size: 6.5x15,
Tyre size: 195/65x15.
Kerb weight: 1370 kgs.
Tyre pressure: 36 psi.

2012 Honda CBR100RR Fireblade.
Power output: 127hp.
Wheel size: 17" front & rear.
Tyre size (front): 120/70ZR17.
Tyre size (rear): 195/50ZR17.
Kerb weight: 175 kgs.
Tyre pressure (front): 36 psi.
Tyre pressure (rear): 42 psi.

It is because users erroneously go by their vehicle's size and mass, that there are so many cases of over-inflated tyres. You are probably guilty of the same.

Lol.... I used body weight as an example but not as an authority on its own.

You are right though, my 2001 Chevy venture is P215/70R15: 35PSI.

If I'm guilty as charged (lol) I wouldn't tell fellow drivers to check their recommended PSI before inflating their tyres.

Anyways! Thanks for the correction.

More contributions please.

One thing I noticed from your post, the bigger the weight, the smaller the PSI.. That's incredible.

In a year which has been dominated with the rise of many new artistes, it is almost impossible to shorten the list of Songs which 'blew up' certain new artistes this year but then this list is close to as perfect as it can get when it comes to mentioning the top 10 songs which blew up this year from new artistes. Without further ado let's get down to business.

1. Woju - A song which had a great buzz within the first quarter of the year, Woju was the song which finally brought G-worldwide's frontliner Kiss Daniels into the limelight. A remix with Davido and Tiwa Savage further cemented his place up there.

2. Laye - Yet another offering from Kiss Daniels which further showed him not just as a One Hit wonder but as an act that can successfully "mess with the same sound"(Raba pun intended) and create two different hits.

These 2 songs shot New School act Kiss Daniels into the limelight.

3. Godwin - A street anthem and one of the few songs in Nigerian history that could be used in any church to praise God as well as (sadly) rocked to in any Club, Godwin was an infectious tune which successfully carved Korede Bello his own niche in the Music Industry.

4. Sade - AdekunleGold of YBNL was shot into the limelight as the 3rd YBNL act to have successfully 'blown' in the 2nd quarter of the year with his rendition of Sade, a cover version done on a One Direction song.

5. Jamb Question - The first new female face to be known this year was Simi and although Tiff was her first song this year to give her some buzz, Jamb Question was the final stroke of the racket to win her the points of 'blowing up' in the Music industry. With a title that became a phrase on the lips of the streets, Simi definitely has to thank this tune for her fame this year.
That's why copy and paste no good.

So, Kiss Daniel don become 2 artist?" Woju" and "Laye".

It could be alibaba... They'll hack your friends account, chat with and, then request for mony.

That's how it works...

If you can't contact your friend or if he's truly who he says he is..

He won't demand a cent from you.

My guy, friend scams friend.
