A security guard attached to one of the government owned secondary schools in Ajara area of Badagry, Fasinu Wusa was on Monday tried before a Badagry Magistrate Court for allegedly defiling an 11 year-old Junior Secondary School one student.

The police prosecutor told the court that the accused was caught making love to the girl in an office on February 11, 2019.

He said the accused allegedly lured the girl into his office, pulled her pant and penetrated her.

“He was summoned by the school authority when the information got to them and he admitted making love to girl before the school authority.

“The police found him culpable and he was charged before Badagry Magistrates Court for the alleged offence,” he said.

The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In ruling, Chief Magistrate Jimoh Adefioye granted the suspect bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody pending when he would meet with his bail condition.

The matter was then adjourned till April 2, 2019.

Also, similar crisis rocking Izzi where over 30 houses where burnt where linked as the brutal force by the Governor to cling power.

All this are coming days after the Governor David Umahi’s Campaign Organization in Ebonyi State cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies against rigging the March 2 governorship election in the state in favour of the of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sunday Ogbuoji.

Chairman of the strategy Committee of the organization, Chief Emmanuel Igwe, in a press release had accused INEC and the Security agencies of plotting to allocate two hundred thousand votes to the APC candidate ahead of the polls.According to him, the planned electoral fraud would be carried out through the printing of fake PVCs. He threatened that Ebonyi would be ungovernable, if the plan succeeds.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to reveal how she was taken to Dubai for prostitution by a fellow citizen who was once her friend.

According to Lovelyn Bianca, a Nigerian lady named Precious Chinwe Orji from Uturu Onuaku in Abia state, takes desperate girls to Dubai for prostitution (including her) and makes them swear an oath with a native doctor not to run or reveal their secret..

It is also alleged that the girls take the oath with promise to pay her N3 million in the course of doing prostitution in the UAE city.

Bianca who admitted to doing prostitution in Dubai and taking the oath, also revealed that she has paid Precious the N3 million as promised. She said she paid her 13,000 dirham twice and both of them are now free from each other.

She revealed that she made the video to expose Precious in order to earn other desperate Nigerian girls who want to travel abroad for better life.

The ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Ayuk Ogar and three others in Bendeghe Ekiem Community in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State have been reported dead.

EBONYI DAILY NEWS that they were killed shortly after a peace accord was signed on Saturday, February 16th.

An eyewitness, who pleaded for anonymity, alleged that the victims were shot dead after an exchange of gun battle between members of All Progressive Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP) after the signing of the peace accord.

He said that apart from those who lost their lives in the gun duel, several others who sustained bullets wounds were said to be receiving treatment at General Hospital in Ikom and other health facilities in the area.

“The misfortune happened on Saturday after the leaders of the community finished signing a peace accord with leaders of PDP and APC to ensure violent free election,” the source said.

Speaking on the issue, the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State on Cocoa Development Dr. Oscar Ofuka, an indigene of the area lamented the clash explaining that problem broke out when leaders of thought in APC and PDP concluded signing a peace accord for peace to reign in the area because of skirmishes which often broke out as a result of political differences in the area.

“Dissatisfied with the development, members of APC who were armed with guns and machetes opened fire on armless PDP supporters and villagers. Right now, the people of Bendeghe Ekiem are leaving in fear and require urgent security attention to protect lives and properties” he stated.

Oscar, who spoke in an emotion-laden voice, said that he only managed to escape death by whiskers. “I escaped death while trying to restore peace in my community. Glory be to God. Among the dead was Mr. Ayuk Ogar (PDP) Ward Chairman of Bendeghe Ekiem” he said.

However, when contacted on phone on Sunday, the Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, Police PPRO, Irene Ugbo said, “Actually the incident occurred in the area and it was cult related clashes.”

She, however, denied that four or more died but confirmed that only three persons were reported dead during the incident.

“We have arrested some suspects and they would be charge to court after investigations. We are still going after others,” she stated

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the February 16 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The polls will now hold Saturday February 23.

This was one of the decisions reached early Saturday morning in a meeting INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, had with the 12 national commissioners in Abuja.

Addressing the media at about 2:45am, Yakubu explained that the shift was mainly due to logistics problems faced by the commission.

“Following a careful review, the commission came to the conclusion that proceeding with the elections will not be feasible”, he said.

Yakubu explained that the decision was taken in order to give the nation a free, fair and credible exercise.

“Furthermore, the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly and FCT elections will hold on Saturday March 9”, the electoral commission chief added.

The national elections are expected to hold at 119,973 polling units across the country while collation of results will take place in 8,809 Registration Areas or Wards, 774 Local Government Areas and 36 States and the FCT.

This is not the first time that the commission would postpone a scheduled general election.

In 2015, the Presidential Election was shifted from February 14 to March 28th, 2015; while the Governorship and State House of Aassembly and FCT elections scheduled for 28 February were shifted to 11 April.

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms Catriona Laing, has warned that Nigerian politicians who incite or execute violence during Saturday’s elections would have their visas banned and assets in the UK seized.

Laing gave the warning at a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja to unveil the Election Situation Room of the Civil Society Situation Room set up by a coalition of civil society organisations to monitor the polls in Abuja.

NAN reports that Laing reminded political parties that apart from their assets being seized in the UK, they could experience a worst case scenario of prosecution.

“We will apply this absolutely across board not directed to any particular party; so, we are monitoring and looking out for hate speech.

“We are concerned about the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) rally which has hate speech a lot and we will like to call that kind of thing out.

“Our two worries are on security not just on the role the police will play to ensure peace but about the role individuals play by getting angry or militias being paid to disrupt elections .

“Then, another worry is fake news ,that is why we rely on CSOs and we will work with them to get information,’’she said

UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Mr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, thanked the CSOs for the launch of the situation room, describing it as a good work toward the elections .

Ibn Chambas said that it showed that the groups were prepared for the elections and ready to monitor the voting process thus helping UN with ideas on the process in the country.

The American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stuart Symington, said that the special thing with the room was not just about that CSOs would say and do but about what every Nigerian would say and do.

“The time has come for this outside world that cares so much about Nigeria to listen to the people of Nigeria and to see what each of them do and then forward the results to lift Nigeria up,’’ Symington said.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday admitted that Nigerians are hungry under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Amaechi, who is the Director General of the Buhari campaign organisation said that while the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Nigerians are hungry, members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are growing fatter.

He made the remark during the APC Presidential campaign rally in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The former Governor of Rivers State alleged that the PDP made their money through stealing.

Amaechi also charged Nigerians to question his successor in Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike to disclose how he made his money.

He said: “We are hungry, we are growing slim but PDP is growing fatter, let me tell you how they made their money, they made their money through stealing.

“There is a man in Rivers State who has so much money, let him tell us how he made his money.

“It’s time to stop them by using your PVCs, ensure you collect it and use them.

‘Let me tell you Buhari has directed that we construct railway to Jalingo and this will create jobs for people of the state.”

Indeed, Peter Obi failed Ndigbo. His failure to investigate and bring the perpetrators of this crime shows he is unfit to rule or oversees the affairs of Ndigbo at the federal level if given the chances.

After 6years of endless waiting , Peter Obi reappeared again to show us reasons why we shouldn’t trust in PDP again.

Until Peter Obi releases report or tell us what he knows on the death of 35 Igbo youths at Ezu River we shall continue to loose confidence in his leadership style.

Peter Obi will make lives of Igbo Youths vulnerable for attacks if given the chances to become the Vice President since he has proven to us he lacks security details in providing or bringing the masterminds of the crime to face the full wrath of the laws.

Nnamdi Kanu’s Claim That Atiku Is From Cameroon “Historically Correct”-Says Controversial Blogger

The Leader of the Indigenous of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu who is also a graduate of Political Economics at the London Guildhall University now called London Metropolitan University (LMU) has continue to educate Nigerians with hidden truth and things which may not have been included in the Nigerian academic curriculum

It is believed, however, that political scientists like Nnamdi Kanu see themselves engaged in revealing the relationships underlying political events and conditions, and from these revelations, they attempt to construct general principles about the way the world of politics works. This which even the Nigerian Professors don’t understand.

It is with this spirit that Nnamdi Kanu continues to reveals things which was not included in Nigerian history books.

However, During a live presentation on Radio Biafra London over the weekend which was monitored by EBONYI DAILY NEWS, Kanu insisted that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate is not from Nigerian but Cameroon, a statement which sparks controversy on social media and became trending on macro blogging site “Twitter”.

Instead of investigating the claims, Paul Ibe, Atiku’s media aide
goofed saying Nnamdi Kanu should provide evidence that Atiku Abubaka is from Cameroonian.

He said: “You media should ask him to supply the proof. It is not the man that is being accused that you will ask. It is the person who made the allegations that you will ask to bring his proof of where he (Atiku) is from or where he is not from,”

However, in setting the record straight, On 11 February 1961, a plebiscite was held in British Cameroons to determine which parts of the territory will stay in Cameroon or align with Nigeria. While northern Cameroon favoured a union with Nigeria, southern Cameroon wanted an alignment with the mother country. On 1 June, 1961, northern Cameroon became part of Nigeria, and on 1 October 1961, the southern territory dissolved into Cameroon.

And really, much of the present day Adamawa state in Nigeria is part of the old northern Cameroon. In fact, there is a region called “Adamawa” in Cameroon today. And even the kingdom of the Lamido of Adamawa stretches into Cameroon.

Indeed, Kanu’s claim was historically and politically correct.

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has thanked the All Progressives Congress, APC, for conceding defeat in the state even before the election.

The Governor claimed that immediately after the All Progressives Congress Presidential rally in Abakaliki the State capital on Wednesday, it becomes obvious that his reelection bid received the blessings and approval of all the opposition political parties particularly the APC.

In a statement tmade available on Friday which was obtained by EBONYI DAILY NEWS, through his Technical Assistant on Media, Monica Ada Chidinma Eze, Governor Umahi said it took much pleas from the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for Senator Sunny Ogbuoji the APC Flag -Bearer in Ebonyi to be recognized during the APC rally by most of the key political actors of the party in the State.

The statement continued, “It was a galore of celebration and victory dance throughout Ebonyi State on 30th January 2019 immediately after the All Progressives Congress Presidential rally in Abakaliki the State capital of Ebonyi State when it becomes obvious that Apostle Dr Dave Nweze Umahi the indefatigable Governor of Ebonyi State reelection bid received the blessings and approval of all the opposition political parties particularly the APC in Ebonyi State.

“This position becomes imperative after it took much pleas from the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for Senator Sunny Ogbuoji the APC Flag -Bearer in Ebonyi State to be recognized during the APC rally by most of the key political actors of APC in the State and even when he was being introduced it was the shout of UMAHI! It was a mild drama on Wednesday as President Muhammadu Buhari campaign team from Abuja fails to recognize the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi state during his presidential campaign in the state. EBONYI DAILY NEWS can now report.



A mild drama occurred when one of the serving ministers, Dr. Onu was invited to speak on the podium but refused to drum support for Ogbuoji until the party chairman has to take up the microphone to force him into mentioning his name. The body language of the minister from Ebonyi State clearly state that he and Buhari has no support for Ogbuoji.

EBONYI DAILY NEWS recall that Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi has said that he is not ashamed to call President Muhammadu Buhari his friend despite belonging to the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP).

Dave Umahi who spoke During the quarterly media chat/ dinner as part of celebrations to mark the nation’s 58th anniversary and 22nd year of the state’s creation last year September was quoted as saying “I want to state that aside my wife, Buhari remains my only boss and should be respected by Nigerians because of his status as the president. “Buhari as the president, is the symbol of the country just as the governor’s are mini-presidents in their respective states. “The fact is that as a human being, he might not be doing everything correctly, but the citizens owe him prayers and understanding to lead the country aright. “I have said repeatedly that I don’t have to insult him to show that I am a PDP member and it is not my duty as a governor to insult the president“This does not mean that I do not identify with the ideals of the PDP, but it must be stated that those who say they are supporting Buhari in Ebonyi are only deceiving the people,” he said. The governor noted that the opposition in the state was only interested in his job and not genuinely supporting the president, vowing not to allow them to take the position from him. “The northern senatorial zone of the state produced a governor who served for eight years; the central zone did the same and the southern zone where I hail from should be allowed to complete its eight-year tenure.“This is the tripod on which the state’s equity rests and even though a sitting governor wanted to truncate it, God brought a David in my person to ensure it was maintained and it will be maintained till the end,” he said. Umahi urged Nigerians to realise that power comes from God and to check the brazen quest for political offices which has brought several problems to the country.


EBONYI DAILY NEWS understands that Senator Sonni Ogbuoji who is a serving Senator representing Ebonyi South is running for the office of the governor in Ebonyi state under the APC party.

Biafra: Prophet Nwoko Reveals How Kanu Betrayed Him, Disobeyed God

The spiritual leader of Biafra Agitation Movement, Prophet Anthony Nwoko has said the death of Biafra agitators was due to Nnamdi Kanu’s disobedience to God.

Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) who has been in Israel since the Operation Python Dance in the Southeast.


During the operation, many IPOB members were alleged to have died with Kanu seeking exile in Israel.

And according to Prophet Nwoko, the situation could have been averted had Kanu listed to God and peoples’ counsel.

“Biafra will come to stay but Nnamdi Kanu has questions to answer because he disobeyed God,” Nwoko said in Enugu on Wednesday.

“If he has listened to God, people would not have died in Onitsha and other places as has been the case.

“He knew that the power that has come to deliver Biafra was not him but me, but went ahead to do what he has been doing.

“God is angry with him because my glory covers Biafra and entire Africa.”

No right thinking Ebonyian will consider contesting 2019 Election with Governor David Nweze Umahi.
Since the creation of Ebonyi State, I must be fair to nature as Ebonyi State has been favoured with Governors who has the interest of Ebonyian at heart.

Former Governor Sam O. Egwu was the first who took the giant step by declaring free Education to the entire state which went a long way in showing to the world that Ebonyians are not dullards as presumed. He also matched it with varying degree of empowerment.
His successor ( Chief Martin N. Elechi) tried his best but based on contemporary realities, his best was not enough.

Governor David Nweze Umahi is an all-encompassing personality who has distinguished himself as a world class leader. People do refer to him as a five-star Governor but I fault it thereby referring to him as an All-star Governor. A positive preternatural being in modern day Governance.

This is the man whose developmental strides in less than four years has led to unimaginable transformation of our own Ebonyi state which was hitherto referred or rather seen as the most undeveloped, primitive and poorest state in Nigeria.

Just like the biblical saying “can anything good come out of Nazareth?
It is audible to the deaf(oppositions) and visible to the blind (oppositions) that Governor David Nweze Umahi's achievements the following areas (Empowerment, Education, Health, Agriculture, Power, Security, Works and Justice) has Left the opposition with no tangible manifesto to challenge our working Governor in winning the minds of “we” the good people of Ebonyi state in the forth coming general election.

In one accord, we have resolved that one good tenure deserves another.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started his Manchester United tenure with an impressive 5-1 victory at Cardiff City. Here's what we learned from their first outing under the interim manager.

It was his first start since 1 December and he looked a little rusty to begin with and there were a few stray passes. But once he got into his rhythm he began to flow.

He had obviously been asked to play further forward than under Jose Mourinho and showed far more devil than he did under his former manager. He took people on, played a key part in the Ander Herrera goal and put in a decent shift.

There is much more needed from him, but at least the new management team got him on the field and playing with a hint of a smile on his face. Those early goals helped.

Solskjaer is an advocate of attacking football and it was noticeable that he took the shackles off his players. Ashley Young and Luke Shaw were bombing forward and there was much more urgency in getting the ball forward than under Mourinho.

Now, at least, he may have the quality of player to implement his philosophy. It was enough to please the fans, though, and get them chanting their interim manager’s name, rather than pleading for ‘attack, attack, attack’.

If there was a concern that the players weren’t playing for Mourinho, there was certainly no evidence of them rest on their laurels for the new man. With only a week to work with them, Solskjaer’s only real chance of changing things was in the mental attitude. He gave them a freedom they have been lacking of late, although it was only against a team struggling near the bottom of the table. But the players obviously relished the chance to play further forward and to showcase their attacking skills. They started like a train, but never let up. They went for the jugular and put a smile on everyone’s face.

When the Manchester United bus pulled up outside Cardiff City Stadium there were a few Bluebird fans who booed Solskjaer as he got off. It was the same when he walked to the dug-out before kick-off, but nothing malicious. It was half-hearted at best.

As for the United fans, they gave him their backing right from the off with chants of ‘Ole, Ole, Ole’ and ‘don’t take my Solskjaer away’. You are supposed to back your manager, but you got the feeling they meant it this time. There is still a genuine bond between the fans and the man who once played a key role in winning the Champions League for them. Those three first-half goals also helped his cause.

Stiffer challenges lie ahead

As a starting point to what United fans hope will be a beautiful and lasting relationship, things couldn’t have gone much better. But there are much stiffer challenges ahead. Cardiff boss Neil Warnock predicted in the build up that Solskjaer should win his first four games.


He certainly got off to a flying start and Boxing Day brings a home clash with Huddersfield. Four days later, Bournemouth visit Old Trafford. The fourth game in Warnock’s sequence is at Newcastle United. Perhaps we’ll have to wait until United head to Tottenham on 13 January to see if Solskjaer has what it takes to turn from the ‘Temporary One’ into the ‘Permament One’.
