Greeting my fellow Nairalanders! I just started my new year with a sad news of incessant increase of MTN solar energy popularly called MTN lumos from N235 to N300. When I purchased this MTN Lumos 2years ago, it was was N200 per day, just within a year, MTN increased it to N235 per day, just this year again, they further increased it to N300 per day. It is either MTN is deceiving or is extorting illegally from MTN-LUMOS users because MTN credit did not add price, VAT did not increase, data did not add price, call rate did not add price Why then will MTN keep increasing Lumos plans? May be this is because MTN which promised LUMOS-users of 1800 paid days before claiming the LUMOS system for life is trying to frustrate many to return the system so that they will recycle it to other people who may be in need. This is a modern fraud and @NCC @ICPC should take note!

Residents of the Amainyi Umudomi community in Onicha Local government Area, have been thrown into shock after vandals stole major components of the transformer which suppose to serve the community when the ongoing rural electrification project is completed in the area. Ebonyi Tv learnt that this is the seventh transformer from the ones provided by the state government that has been vandalized and parts stolen in the last 5months. The Chairman of the Onicha Local Government in Ebonyi State, Igboke Felix Ogbonna who spoke with this newspaper decried the incessant cases of vandalisation of such installations, saying that the activities of vandals had plunged a lot of households, businesses and communities into darkness, while costing the EEDC company revenue losses worth millions of naira. According to him, “These vandals mostly target transformers and up-riser cables worth millions of naira.” Igboke explained that constant replacement of the installations was “counterproductive and detrimental.” He decried the development, noting that the vandals’ actions were becoming alarming and depriving many people of their right to steady power supply. David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi has informed residents of the state that there were no more unshared COVID-19 palliatives in the state as all items meant for them have been shared. Umahi made the clarification on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, in a broadcast to the people over the recent disturbances in the state by hoodlums. The governor said that the government, in collaboration with Local Government Areas in the state, was working towards providing another set of palliatives to be shared to the people in December. “You are aware that we spent billions of naira to purchase palliatives which were shared through the various polling units in the state, irrespective of political alliances. “We reached over 600, 000 Ebonyi people, including those in Lagos and Abuja, and the remaining presently is for students of the state university who were not in session,” he said. He said that with the resumption of schools, the students were presently taking delivery of the items which include: 50 bags of 10kg rice, 200 bags of 20kg rice, 1, 500 cartons of tin tomatoes, 2000 gallons of oil among others. “We are working towards assisting parents to send students back to school by reducing school fees but be aware that there is opportunity cost; when one thing is done, another may not be done. “I call on all youths to dialogue with my government and make inputs in governance,” he added. Umahi announced that his administration had earmarked N2.6 billion Small and Medium Enterprises, SME, fund for organised youth cooperatives in all LGAs of the state to empower them. He called for suggestions on how to share the funds. “This is aside the 100 state Executive Council members, over 1,110 Technical Assistants and other political appointments in the state of which 90 percent of the occupiers are youths. “I again plead with our young one, please no more attacks, destruction of assets, killings of both of you and security agencies,” he said. The governor said that he would compensate families whose loved ones were either killed or injured during the disturbances, whether they were security agencies, civilians or even hoodlums. “I plead with these young hoodlums killing us in the name of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, to withdraw peacefully to their houses. “Security agencies must give them peace and free access to return to their communities,” he said. Investigative Report; It Was Abakaliki Soil Tillers That Butchered This Lady Not Herdsmen (Video) Ebonyi Tv on the 21st of September received a disturbing video footage showing a lady who was butchered severely, without investigation, a youtube video channel called ONLY ANIMATED VIDEOS gave a false information claiming it was fulani herdsmen that carried the attack while also claiming the lady later died which was all false. (PREVIOUS THREAD https://www.nairaland.com/6136665/lady-butchered-fulani-herdsmen-abakaliki) FACT FINDINGS Immediately Ebonyi Tv got wind of the heart breaking video, a team of our reporters lead by Comrade Chukwu Solomon immediately set for a journey towards the peaceful community of Ishiagu in Ivo local government Area. Ebonyi Tv reporters arrived the community exactly 2;30pm on September 22nd a day after the video went viral. Our team immediately lunched an investigation. It wasn’t long before the truth was uncovered after our reporters located the exact hospital the lady whose name is Miss Aroh Chinenye is receiving treatment with unstable condition. THE BITTER TRUTH UNCOVERED In a briefly chatted interview between our lead reporter and Miss Aroh Chinenye revealed that it was an Ebonyi soil tillers from Ezza- Abakaliki who she hired to till her land for farming that butchered her. Chinenye recount what transpired. “It was yesterday morning around 7am, I called two Ezza soil tillers to show them my farm land, but when we got there, the price they gave me was higher than I expected, so i discharged them. I never knew they was furious for not giving them the job. “As I made my way towards home, they was trailing me, I thought maybe they were going for another job, I never knew they was coming for my life” “Immediately I reached Precious Filling station just before the former Neche hospital, a sharp cut landed at the back of my head, as i struggled and groaned in pain, they cut off my two hands and ran away while I struggled in the pool of my own blood” She stated. Miss Chinenye however called on well meaning Ebonyians and Nigerian atlarge to come to her rescue in other to transfer her to a specialist hospital for treatment. Chinenye have being struggling with her twin brother Aroh Temple since their parent demise doing all sort of farming and menial job to make an ends meet. Ebonyi Tv gathered that Ezza is a second dominant community of the present occupants of the area known as Abakiliki. They are often mixed up with Izzi soil tiller that also live close to their town. The Ezza soil tillers relates with communities from remote town known to be on cordial agro allied paid labour. But in the recent time , Ishiagu community have had a pocket of brutal butchering, molesting , of their widows , mothers , men and minors especially at the lonely farms if the working term didn't go well as they desired. In some cases, victims would be beheaded and buried in a shallow grave . Ebonyi Tv also gathered that the heinous crimes being commited by the Ezza soil tillers are under-reported by the media. Most of the attacks by these people always end up blaming it on the Fulani herdsmen whose operation are also similar to that of Ezza soil tillers. The leader of the indigeneous people of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have rebranded Biafra logo, and it’s fair to say that the reaction hasn’t been positive. Ebonyi Tv News gathered. The new Biafra flag which has a star sytematically placed within the center of the flag”, was unveiled by theIPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu on tuesday. The new flag shares some similarities with its predecessor: they both feature a horizontal tricolour of red, black, and green, charged with a golden rising sun over a golden bar as their primary colour. However, the similarities end there. The new flag features the “star”designed to depict the historical star of David in the bible. The new flag according to Nnamdi Kanu was developed to reflect the true identitiy of Igbo people whom he believed was a descendant of King Eri. Nnamdi Kanu like many other Igbo scholars , claims that the Igbo are the Jews of West Africa. Igbos believed they are descendants of at least one of Israel’s lost tribes. In the eighth century B.C. the Assyrians invaded Israel’s northern kingdom forcing 10 tribes into exile. IPOB members react to the new flag The reaction to the new Biafra flag has been tetchy to say the least. Many people think the flag is ill conceived and waste of time. Some Biafran activities and Nnamdi Kanu loyalist have taken to social media to voice their displeasure at the new flag. They have highlighted problems such as the design’s lack of symmetry and the “star of David” being unrecognizable both in the bible, torah and Igbo tradition. Others have likened the flag as a sign of the devil. SOURCE

The leader of the indigeneous people of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on Saturday during his Biafra heroes remembrance day speech on Facebook live video revealed how he gave Asari Dokubo the former warlord of Niger Delta militant a sum of twenty million naira during his incarceration in Kuje prison. Nnamdi who spoke with volume during the broadcast said he gave Asari Dokubo the sum of 20million naira to give to the Niger Delta AVENGERS but instead Asari Dokubo betrayed him (Kanu) by calling DSS for his boys. “I gave Asari Dokubo the sum of 20million naira cash in Kuje to give to AVEENGERS, he collected the money and betrayed my boys by setting them up with DSS” Nnamdi Kanu said Ebonyi Tv understands that AVENGERS is a deadly millitant group whose operation crippled crude oil activities between 2015/2016 in the Niger delta region. Kanu speaking further said people like Asari Dokubo, Nnia Nwodo, Tony Nnadi are coming up with allegations that he embezzled Biafra money so that bthey will spoil the minds of people from supporting Biafra quest. “You said i embezzled Biafra money, have you contributed a dime to IPOB? No Igbo man had ever contributed money for Biafra” Kanu stated. The judge has since frowned at Mr Kanu’s disappearance and blamed his sureties for Mr Kanu jumping bail. While the federal government proscribed IPOB and labelled it a terrorist organisation in the wake of the clash, the U.S. government, however, said it does not see IPOB as such. https://ebonyitvnews.com/2020/05/30/breakingnnamdi-kanu-exposes-asari-dokuborevealed-how-he-gave-him-n20-million-cash/

The self-exiled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says he will return again in Nigeria and is “coming back with hell.” “When I came in 2015 I told you i was coming and I came. Now am telling you again I'm coming and will bring hell with me" Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said in a live broadcast on Radio Biafra which was fully monitored by Ebonyi Tv on Sunday The live broadcast comes three days after social media went agog over a photo showing Mr Kanu standing beside a well equipped armored tank. Kanu on Sunday also called for people to come out and support Biafra "We have men on ground already ,anybody that wants to support us should contact us, we have the men"Kanu said. It is not clear if Nnamdi Kanu is drumming for another second Nigeria/Biafra civil war. Nnamdi Kanu in his last three broadcast have consistently said that Biafra is just few months to be actualized. " I want to assure you that Biafra is just a few months away" Kanu said on Wednesday in his usual broadcast. Ebonyi Tv understands that Nnamdi Kanu breakaway from the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), and formed IPOB in 2009 and had since enjoys limited support from some Igbos. Mr Kanu who was based in London, UK, was arrested alongside three others on October 14, 2015 in Lagos. EBONYI TV EDITORIAL Ebonyi Still Remain The Poorest State Despite Flashy Chinese Lights And Constructions Why are Ebonyi and Enugu state having such high poverty rates? They are the only Southeast states with poverty rate above the national average. Enugu is 58.13% and Ebonyi is 79.76%. Ebonyi, particularly, is a concern. Its poverty rate is similar to those of Northeast and Northwest states. The Ebonyi Governor has been pleading some sort of political exceptionalism from other southeast states. He is modeled as a high performing Governor. How come his high performance has not translated to significant improvement in social and economic wellbeing of Ebony people? Didn’t they say that authoritarianism is a better model of governance than democracy for African states and societies. So, why haven’t Umahi’s authoritarian politics and repressive leadership style lifted Ebony from chronic poverty as captured by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) poverty and inequality report? Yes, Umahi has built stronger and better roads than most southeast governors. He has also built some needless structures. But he has neglected investment in the economic and social wellbeing of Ebonyi for the past 5 years. His good-enough physical infrastructure initiatives have come at the cost of hugely needed initiatives in economic and social wellbeing. When I traveled to Abakiliki as the Chairman of a private sector-based innovation hub in Ebonyi, I went around the state capital and returned the verdict that the Governor has done well in physical infrastructure, but has failed big on human development. I did not see the level of commercial transactions that will lift up thousands trapped in chronic poverty. I did not see the level of political freedom you expect to see in a southeast state. The atmosphere was repressive and those I spoke to confirmed the significant lack of political freedom in Ebony. Somehow, lack of political freedom may be both an indicator and a cause of economic unfreedom. Governor Umahi should revise his policy script for the rest of his tenure to change the poor rating of his beloved state. And when he finishes his tenure, Ebonyi people should elect as Governor someone who understand the value of economic and political freedoms and will invest in projects that will improve economic and social wellbeing rather than on concrete and blocks. https://ebonyitvnews.com/2020/05/16/ebonyi-still-remain-the-poorest-state-despite-flashy-chinese-lights-and-constructions/
