I work offshore as an (STC) safety training coordinator. We try our possible best to make employees maintain a safe attitude during their stay offshore so they can go back to their families at the end of their hitch as safe as they came. The working environment in the oil and gas industry is a hazardous one, but we believe safety is everyone's business and that zero incidence is achievable if all the parties involved work as a team watching after each other. |

Islamist Militant group ISIS has been killing non-Muslims in many cities in Iraq and Syria in their effort to eradicate the Christian faith in the countries...and they are not sparing children. There's been several executions of believers, including crucifixions and the beheadings of children. The children's heads are being erected on poles in a city park according to an eyewitness who spoke with CNN. "There is a park in Mosul where they actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick and have them in the park. The world hasn't seen this kind of atrocity in generations" a prominent Chaldean-American businessman Mark Arabo told CNN See some of the horrific photos + images of extreme brutality by ISIS on their prisoners. Members of the Sunni Shaitat tribe are taken from their homes rounded up and marched to their deaths. ISIS shared some these horrific images online.

“Kwankwaso should spend the remainder of his tenure to deliver on his failed promises to Kano people instead of exposing himself continuously to public ridicule.” |
Kwankwaso Must ‘Use His Head’ When Commenting On National Issues – Presidency The Presidency has slammed Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for accusing President Goodluck Jonathan of running a government based on ethnic sentiment and religious bigotry. Kwankwaso had in an interview with newsmen, weekend, argued that the real cause of insecurity in the country was bad leadership, adding that the inability of President Jonathan to tackle the issue of insurgency has exposed Jonathan’s incompetence to preside over the affairs of Nigeria. Reacting yesterday, Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said Governor Kwankwaso must try to use his head when commenting on national issues. “Kwankwaso must try to be cerebral when commenting on national issues. The “kwankwasiya” mentality may work for him locally in Kano, but definitely will not carry him far on the national platform,” Okupe wrote Vanguard in a text message. “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is not running a clannish government, neither is he playing any religious card. “Are the ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Inspector General of Police; Group Managing Director of NNPC; Chief Justice of Nigeria; Chief of Staff and Principal Secretary; Special Adviser, Adviser, Media in the Presidency Ijaws or from the South South extractions? |
United States President, Barrack Obama, on Tuesday said that his administration and the entire American citizens would not forsake Nigeria during this time that the country faces some challenges. Making this known in his remarks during the on-going US-African Summit in Washington, DC, the United States leader said that his country recognized Nigeria as her most strategic partner, adding that America would continue to throw its weight behind the federal government. Obama continued that it was not only Nigeria that faces security challenges as a result of terrorism, noting that every effort would be made to ensure that terrorists were flushed out of Nigeria and the entire Africa. During one of the meetings which was attended by the chief executives of Wal-Mart, the Coca-Cola Company and IBM among others, the US president hinted that Africa was once seen more as a destination for US charity than a place to invest, but added that that was quickly changing. http://leadership.ng/news/380068/obama-us-wont-forsake-nigeria-despite-challenges During one of the sessions, General Electric which announced a $2 billion investment in Nigeria and other participating African nations also called Africa its “most promising growth region.” Business groups say U.S. policies, however, still reflect outdated ideas of Africa’s potential. A kafir has no human value in Islam. They can be exploited for their skills, for sex, for slavery, for anything – or just be killed off. Muslims believe they have great rewards in heaven for killing kafirs. The photo is from twitter (@Fadel_alHadidi) taken as a screenshot from a youtube clip and profess to be an ISIS militant (devout Muslim) marrying a 7-year old kafir in occupied minority district of Syria (source is unconfirmed). She’d first be forced to recite the Quran to convert to make the pedo-marriage halal according to Sharia law. Imagine if you were in the shoes of this poor little girl! Who can protect her? There is no one to protect her. On the contrary Qatar and Saudi Arabia has been feeding this beast for ages. Turkey and Kuwait has joined in Caliphate support while mosques all across the West collect donations for this monster to grow and expand. Obama, UK and EU being their ally, is funding the spread of terror to corner small children like her to become rape victims to terrorists who have no age limit to their Islamic pedophilia. Your tax monies are being used for this evil. The West must BAN all trade, weapons sales, travels, visas, investment to and from Muslim countries to end this barbarism. http://themuslimissue./2014/08/03/isis-militant-announces-his-marriage-to-terrified-7-year-old-in-occupied-city-syria/

ISIS Crucifies 8 Christians in Syria for Apostasy From Islam Various sources have received independent confirmation from inside Syria that these men were former Muslims that had converted to Christianity, Illinois Review reports. They were not ‘..rebel fighters from a rival faction..’ as many news outlets are reporting. Each of the 8 men were charged with the crime of apostasy for renouncing Islam and converting to Christianity. When confronted by the ISIS members, they refused to “revert” to Islam. This is the “only” reason they were crucified. According to Islamic jurisprudence, crucifixion is a method of death reserved for Christians. They do not crucify other Muslims. http://www.vieinter.com/themiddleeast/isis-crucifies-8-christians-in-syria-for-apostasy-from-islam/

Symphony007: there are limits. If you commit murder, you loose those rights. If you commit atrocities that affect the state or the well being of other citizens you loose those rights. Let the government prove how a consexual relationship among two adults of sound mind is a threat to the state or other citizens. And how do you see it if I go to the US and get myself involved in bigamy because it is practiced where I come from? Would that still be within the limits of exercising my human rights? |

Love is beautiful but it can also ravage and destroy. It brings pleasure and it brings pain. It brings joy and it brings sorrow. It brings light and it brings darkness. It brings laughter and it brings tears. It brings peace and it brings turmoil. It brings tranquility and it brings turbulence. It brings serenity and it brings rage. It brings passivity and it brings aggression. It brings selflessness, kindness and generosity and it brings cruelty, sadism and masochism. It brings restraint and balance and it brings wild passion and extreme emotions. It brings the promise of a new dawn and it brings the testimony of a tragic sunset. It is indeed the greatest paradox that has existed since the beginning of time. God IS love yet He created satan, the harbinger and apostle of hate, death and destruction. The songwriter wrote ‘’love hurts, love scars, love wounds’’. Another wrote ‘’sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead’’. How true this is. How poignant and appropriate are these simple words from these two beautiful and celebrated songs. Yet at the same time that same love that can be so painful brings the sheer pleasure and blessing of lasting and cherished memories. And the true test of love comes not when things are smooth and rosy but when challenges come and things go wrong. They say that when someone you love insists on leaving, however painful it may be, you must let that person go. If that person is truly yours he or she shall eventually return but if they are not yours they will never come back. Whichever way, you win because you cannot lose what was never yours and what is yours will always come back to you. Courage, patience, faith, strength, a gentle disposition, a firm resolve and a large application of the Balm of Gilead to wipe away the pain and heal your wounds is the key to survival and to weathering the storm of separation from a loved one. I know because I have been there. Apart from that, good old fashioned time has a way of healing broken hearts and wounded souls and of revealing the truth of every matter. In the Book of Proverbs 30: 18-19, King Solomon said, “there are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and THE WAY OF A MAN WITH A MAIDEN’’. How profound, deep and wise this great King was. ‘’The way of a man with a maiden’’ is indeed one of the great mysteries under the sun. This is not only a spiritual truism but also a tried and tested home truth. The morale of the tale is that no force on earth or below the earth, no situation, no set of circumstances, no degree of alienation and hateful words and no misunderstanding can keep two people that are truly in love apart forever. That is indeed the power of love. It cannot be hidden or supressed for long and it cannot be resisted no matter how hard we try or how often we are persuaded. It is indeed a beautiful thing. Yet as a dear friend of mine recently told me, despite it’s awesome power, ‘’love is pain’’. There is however a deeper truth and that truth is as follows. When the Lord establishes the reasons and creates the circumstances for you to move on from anyone that you were once close to or that you love and when He makes a way for a new beginning for you, never complain and never look back. Don’t be like Lot’s wife lest you turn into a pillar of salt. Don’t be like the children of Israel that were led by Moses into the desert only for them to begin to yearn and crave for the ‘’onions and garlic of Egypt’’ where they had once been slaves. Remember that Abraham could not prosper and find his calling until he was separated from Lot. God may well be doing a new thing in your life by throwing the garbage out and separating you from someone that you had once trusted and that you were once very close to, so grab that opportunity with both hands, move on, make new friends and enjoy the ride. When two people that were once very close fall apart don’t be too eager to fix it or to come back together again simply because you may not be able to move to the next prophetic level of your life if you do. God is in the business of removing stumbling blocks and the secret agents of the devil from the lives of His children so don’t complain when those you once loved begin to behave like water demons and dragons, begin to tell the most hideous lies and begin to manifest hatred towards you. When that happens just hold your peace, smile, remain silent, have a little patience and wait and see their end. There are some ‘’little foxes’’ that you just don’t need in your life when you are about to rise up so no matter how painful it is for two close people to go their separate ways the wise thing to do is to ‘’let go and let God’’. And when you do let go, be thankful for the moments you once had together and go forth in peace and with as little rancor and dissention as possible. For those that repay good with evil the bible says ‘’evil shall never leave their household’’. So don’t fight for yourself when you are wronged by ingrates and those you once helped, supported and assisted: instead let that powerful verse of scripture fight for you. Always remember it and call it before God during your time of intercession and prayer by just saying the following words: ‘’those that have repaid my good with evil, evil shall never leave their household’’. Stand on these powerful and precious words and have faith in the mystery and efficacy of the Holy Word of God knowing that scripture cannot be broken by any power in heaven, on earth or below the earth. After that just hold your peace and no matter how long it takes, whether it is a few seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years or decades, wait and see what happens. Always remember that ‘’God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform’’ and that vengeance is His. He will judge, He will reward and He will avenge. Again remember Mr. Kayode Ola’s simple yet deeply profound words. He said, ‘’keep your head up. God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers’’. No matter what you are going through, no matter who has hurt, cheated or betrayed you and no matter what your circumstances are learn to take the pain with dignity and to despise the shame, for it shall surely pass. In order to escape rancor, betrayal and conflict try your best to avoid loud, vexatious, greedy and ungrateful people because no matter how much you do for them in their time of need they will never be satisfied. Worse still they will despise you for your generosity and compassion which they perceive as nothing but weakness and stupidity. Helping such people is like conjuring up the Angel of Death, like invoking Abaddon, the spirit of destruction, and like trading with the grave: they can never be appeased or satisfied and they will always want more. Worst still the more you help them and the more you give, the more they will demand and the more they will hate you for it. Finally always remember what Mr. Herbert Mensah, one of Ghana’s and indeed Africa’s brightest and best, once said: “never cry for someone who does not know the value of your tears”. This is wisdom. Save your tears and sorrow only for those who love and appreciate you but never reject or treat with contempt those that genuinely care for you. This is because, generally speaking, human beings are fickle, unreliable and shallow and those that truly care are very few. The truth is that we live in a harsh and cruel world and only God’s love is pure. Only He stays with us to the end no matter what we are going through. Only He is faithful. Only He loves us for what and who we are and not for what He can get out of us. Permit me to end this contribution by sharing what I describe as the seven lessons for abundant life. The first is that without God there is nothing and with God there is everything. The second is that if you help ten people in life count yourself lucky if one returns to say thank you and count yourself lucky if only one of the ten betrays you. The third is that you must trust no-one because it is those that are closest to you that will hurt you the most. The fourth is that you must never write off or despise anyone no matter how bad their situation because you don’t know what they may become tomorrow. The fifth is that you cannot afford not to help your friends and you cannot afford not to fight your enemies. The sixth is that true knowledge and insight is gained not by the best secular education or even by life’s many experiences but rather it is gained by divine revelation. The seventh and final lesson is that you must conquer your fears and no matter what you are going through, be positive, be happy and hold on to your faith in God knowing that He that created you is quietly working His purpose out for your life and He will never forsake or leave you either in this life or in the life to come. Seven is the number of perfection so let me stop there but if you can hold on to these seven home truths you will go far in life and nothing will hold you down. Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following counsel. In love, pain and the mystery of separation never forget that when your loved one fails you and decides to leave, as painful as it might be, the Holy Spirit and the Balm of Gilead is more than able to heal your wounds and make you whole again. You will live to love another with equal measure and that love will surely be returned because everyone has their very own life-partner waiting for them out there somewhere. It is just a matter of finding him or her. If your lover or spouse chooses to leave never forget that if he or she is truly yours and if it is the will of God, one day, no matter how long it may take, you shall surely be together again because what is truly yours shall always return to you. If that doesn’t happen and it doesn’t work out that way just give God the glory and give your love to another because the one that left was clearly never yours in the first place. If needs be just take the pain and move on. Yet if you ever find your true love and you are sure that it is God’s will for you to be together, never let go no matter what because if you do so you may never find it again. Despite all it’s complexities and pain love still remains the greatest gift that God ever gave to humanity. And nothing describes the essence of true love, or what is known in Pentecostal circles as ‘’agape love’’ (meaning the power to love even the unlovable), as the beautiful words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 1:13. He said, ‘’If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love’’. This is wisdom. Shalom. – Fani-Kayode is the former Minister of Aviation

I Made Arabic Bible During Three-Month Transfiguration— Uthman Dan Fodio’s Great Grandson Having read his book, “The Greatest Encounter,” and listened to some of his messages, I think and rightly so, that there is yet another exemplary prophet of God in Nigeria. He is not one of Nigeria’s most popular television evangelists and has never craved to be one. He does not blow his trumpet on the rooftops to be heard or court power to enjoy special privileges and favours. But with a simple, courteous and unassuming mien, Bishop Kleham Kings Degaya has been speaking the mind of God to Nigerians and people all over the world, who care to give heed to his message. Perhaps, if he were from another part of the world and carries just a pint of the anointing God has deposited in him, Nigerians from all walks of life would have scrambled for visa and tickets and pay huge sums in hotel bills to get to be in his presence and to listen to his uplifting and spiritually refreshing messages. But because Degaya doesn’t just do the showmanship thing that has been the hallmark of contemporary Nigerian preachers and evangelists, a lot of people have unwittingly lost out on his amazing story, his awe-inspiring result-oriented teachings and his easy-to-follow Christian principles. Nobody, who has had the opportunity to sit under his voice, as he expounds on the mysteries of God and explicates on the awesome power Christians command over situations, nature, negative spiritual forces and satanic principalities; has ever been the same. While many people have criticized and even branded him a spy, Degaya has constantly challenged anybody who is in doubt of his conversion and anointing to do the needful: Seek discernment from God and God alone, who calls and empowers His apostles, prophets, ministers, evangelists, preachers and teachers of His Word. Born as Abdullazeez Abdulkabir Alhassan Dan Fodio, a great grandson of the legendary Uthman Dan Fodio, Degaya said his life took a new turn when he had “an encounter with Jesus Christ Glorified.” With a Ph.D in neuro science and an odious involvement at the highest and deepest levels of the occult, Degaya said he is the first person in his linage to be born again and who has openly confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Before the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ arrested him and changed the course of his life, Degaya said he was “Bahamah-Appysinail” and enjoyed all the pleasures that the kingdom of darkness could offer. But when Jesus personally revealed Himself to him in the magnificence of His glory, he said, “I found myself operating on strength, different from the one I had acquired from the satanic enclave…. The God of impossibilities penetrated the deepest darkness and beamed His light of love on me and decided that this mortal being (me) is for Him.” Freed from the yoke of satanic manipulations and the forces of darkness, Degaya said Jesus gave him a “royal assignment” after his arrest and conversion, which lasted three hours, his transfiguration experience that lasted three month and the last appearance of Jesus to him. It was during the three-month transfiguration that he translated the Holy Bible into Arabic, which he later printed and distributed over 150 million copies to countries in the Asia and parts of the Middle East. For over 21 years, he has been sharing an amazing and compelling message of salvation through Jesus Christ Glorified and the mysteries of the Word of God with Christians and non-Christians all over the world. Degaya has revealed the secrets to success, good health, personal freedom, unlimited power and salvation in messages that have touched the lives of many, in more than tangential ways. In one of his atypical messages, he said mankind has been a problem since creation because he is easily carried away by little things. Degaya insists that although many children of God are sincere, they still face problems because most of the things they do are fabricated. “Most of what children of God do don’t exist in the realm of negative spirituality and they don’t exist in the realm of positive spiritually and that’s why they are not effective.” He also spoke on the growing helplessness among Christians in contemporary times. “In Christianity today, there is a level of helplessness, especially with sincere people. You are asked to give your life to Christ, you have done that. You are asked to come to church and you have done that. You are asked to attend Sunday school and you have done that. You are asked to be consistent in church and you have done that. You are asked to pay tithes and you are doing that. You are asked to pray and you are doing that. You are asked to fast and you are doing that. You are asked to observe some guiding principles instituted by your church and you are doing it. The question is, after doing all these, what are the results?” When all these fail to deliver, he said Christians need to enter the realm of divine spirituality. “Divine Spiritual practicality”, according to him, “is what Christians need to know to be powerful and to be above all satanic principalities and powers. With teachings that dig into the womb of some of the most powerful occult groups in the world, his followers have concluded that Degaya is backed by a force that is above all the satanic principalities and powers operating in the heavenlies and on earth. But he is quick to point out that the Church is yet to attain the height God had purposed for it from the beginning of time. He, therefore, insists: “Most churches are powerless because they don’t know the powers that they have in God.” Because of this, he has consistently asked, “If magicians have something that works for them, occultists have something that works for them and even the herbalist, what is it that works for children of God?” It is, therefore, the failure of men of God to stay connected to the flow of God’s divine power that, he said, makes many of them to fabricate things and use them to entrap their members. Degaya shares some simple but very effective principles that deliver solutions to a wide-range of human needs and problems. For instance, he said, it is possible to stop untimely death and protracted death in the society. I can hear someone say, “This is a huge joke.” Fortunately, it’s not a joke. “You don’t even need to be a believer for this to work for you,” says the bishop. “You can take your faith and put it in the book of your car or hang it somewhere. You don’t even need faith for this to work for you. What I am about to tell you will make a difference between life and death, between the life of deliverance or that of affliction, poverty and sudden death. “Anybody confronted with the spirit of sudden death and or protracted sickness that leads to humiliating death does not need a long fast or a thunderous prayer session.” For one confronted with the mark of sudden death, Degaya advises you say, “Bahaly: Stop and be quiet,” and for protracted sickness that could lead to death, “Balamas: Stop and be quiet.” Period. He further explains that before death comes knocking, humans are put on a seven-year notice by God. That is, God gives signs of an impending death seven years before time. However, if such a person is ignorant of the signs and or unable to interpret the dreams and several revelations through which God communicates and the person ultimately dies prematurely without being born again, that person would become a waste to the kingdom of God. “And there is nothing that hurts God more than a wasted man. God doesn’t care whether an angel or an archangel evaporates because they were not created in the image and likeness of God,” he says. We should, therefore, not excuse our ignorance when we allow bad things to happen and attribute them to God’s will. But Degaya teaches that decrees and intercessions are, by far, the most effective tools of attracting positive experiences. Continuing, he said, “Don’t be helpless when you have a problem. The problem you have is an indication that you need knowledge and information.” To access the blessings of God, Degaya advises children of God to eschew pride, bias and hate, adding that the measurement of human perfection is not in the hand of man but in the Almighty God. BEHOLD THE WORDS OF THE KING OF HARAM On 22nd July 2014 General Muhammadu Buhari told The Nation Newspaper that "our country has gone through several rough patches, but never before have I seen a Nigerian President declare war on his own country as we are seeing now. Never before have I seen a Nigerian President deploy federal institutions in the service of partisanship as we are witnessing now. Never before have I seen a Nigerian President utilize the common wealth to subvert the system and punish the opposition, all in the name of politics. Our nation has suffered serious consequences in the past for egregious acts that are not even close to what we are seeing now. It is time to pull the brakes''. One may have been prepared to accept the general's words as being those of a genuinely concerned and committed patriot who simply wanted our President and his Government to do a better job and who was worried about the unfolding situation in our country if he had not consistently exposed his true colors and his obvious soft spot for Boko Haram. Permit me to share just one example of the expression of that soft spot in this contribution. On 3rd June 2013, Thisday Newspaper led their newspaper with the following headline: ''The military offensive against Boko Haram is anti-north- General Muhammadu Buhari''. The headline was followed by these words: ''Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has criticised the declaration of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States and the subsequent military offensive against the Boko Haram Islamic sect. Buhari, who featured on the “Guest of the Week,” a Hausa programme of the Kaduna-based Liberty Radio, yesterday said the federal government’s action was a gross injustice against the north. According to him, unlike the special treatment the federal government gave to the Niger Delta militants, the Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished. He said he was not in support of the declaration of state of emergency in the three north-eastern states because President Goodluck Jonathan had failed from the outset in addressing the security situation in the country''. The implications of these shameful and indefensible comments, coming from a former Head of State, are obvious and self-evident. If the truth be told Buhari's peculiar affinity with the terrorists and his fawning about their safety and welfare is as unbearable as it is nauseating. Yet that same General Buhari who said these unacceptable things one year ago is now busy pontificating about his concerns for our nation. Many would argue that that is pretty rich coming from him given his past comments about a ruthless group of terrorists who, more than any other, merit the award for the greatest ''troublers of our nation''. Given this I regard Buhari's comments to the Nation Newspaper on the 22 July 2014 as nothing but self-serving and belated clap trap and balderdash. Yet this clap trap and balderdash is worthy of a little attention. Of particular interest to me were the following words: ''never before have I seen a Nigerian President declare war on his own country as we are seeing now''. Really? Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that the war that President Goodluck Jonathan had declared was against terrorism and Boko Haram and not against the Nigerian people. Does General Buhari find it difficult to make a distinction between the jihadists and the Nigerian people? Does he see them as being one and the same? Does he actually equate members of Jamā'at ahl as-sunnah li-d-da'wa wa-l-jihād with the Nigerian people? Does he regard the military offensive against Boko Haram as being an offensive against OUR people? Does he honestly believe that anytime that a Boko Haram terrorist is killed by our Armed Forces and security agencies or that his house is blown up that it is an attack on the Nigerian people or an assault on the north? Are those people that Boko Haram slaughtering, terrorising, abducting, pillaging, robbing and raping on a daily basis all over our country not the real Nigerians? Does he honestly believe that Boko Haram is representative of the thinking of our people or even the majority of the people in the muslim north? Has this man not lost touch with reality? Does he really belong to the 21st century or is he nothing more than an old relic from the distant past who secretly craves for a return to the norms, ways and values of 6th century Saudi Arabia? Is such a man really fit to be President of our country? Is he still insisting on having another muslim as his running mate in order to establish his strange dream of a muslim/muslim President and Vice President for our country or has he shelved that idea due to public resentment and outrage? Does he have any respect for christians? Does he have any empathy with the christian community in northern Nigeria for the immense suffering, degradation, humiliation, contempt, shame, indignity, persecution and mass murder that they have been subjected to in the north for the last 53 years and particularly in the last few years? Does he regard christians as being human beings? Does he accept the fact that Boko Haram are nothing but beasts? Does he recognise the fact that no-one has the right to take the life of another human being in the name of religion? Does he know that compulsion has no place in any civilised religion and that each human being has the right to exercise his or her free will to determine which religious faith he or she wishes to espouse? Does Buhari understand the meaning of the words ''secular state'' or the concept of the secularity of the state? Can he possibly accept the virtues and comprehend the wisdom of such an equitable and reasonable constitutional arrangement which guarantees the rights of all faiths and which does not allow one faith to laud it over another anywhere in our country? Does he recognise the fact that Nigeria is in actual fact a secular state in which the rights and dignity of the members of every faith, including the christian faith, are guaranteed by the constitution? Does he accept the fact that in this day and age it is a heinous crime against humanity and particularly the girl-child and that it is a complete violation of the laws of our land for little girls of the age of 5, 6, 9 13 and even up to 16 to be married off and subjected to rape in the name of religion and marriage? Does the General support paedophiles, sexual predators and perverts who are sexually attracted to innocent and defenceless little girls and who believe that they can be ''sold in the market'' and ''forced into slavery?'' Does he honestly believe that Boko Haram are human beings? Does this man that wants to be President of our country not recognise a heartless and callous beast when he sees one? Does the wanton and relentless shedding of rivers of innocent blood, including the blood of children, not move his heart? Does the open abduction of almost 300 little girls, each of whom is young enough to be his grandaughter, from the sanctity of their school dormitory in the dead of the night not evoke pity in him and not stir him to rage? Does he have any compassion and does he feel no pain for the suffering of the victims of Boko Haram? Does he know that Boko Haram has killed as many muslims as they have christians in their insane attempt to establish an islamic fundamentalist state in our country? Is his inability to make a distinction between Boko Haram and the Nigerian people informed by the fact that he is a closet Haramite whose stated desire is to ''spread sharia to throughout the whole of the country'' as he said in 2001? Does Buhari still believe that ''muslims should only vote for those who will protect their interest'' as he said in 2001? Does he still believe that ''christians should not worry when muslims chop off their own arms and hands in the name of sharia because it is none of their business'' as he said in 2001? Does he still believe that Boko Haram members should be forgiven, granted amnesty, pampered, sent abroad to learn and given monthly allowances like the Niger Delta militants like he suggested in 2013? The questions are legion. Given his views and obvious sympathy for Boko Haram does General Muhammadu Buhari have the moral right to condemn anyone, least of all the President and the Federal Government, for the challenges that we are facing in this country? Never before have I seen a former Nigerian Head of State openly express sympathy and covertly support a murderous and bestial terrorist organisation that has killed well over 15,000 innocent Nigerians in cold blood, that has abducted and raped our little girls and that has slit the throats and drained the blood of our young boys. Never before have I seen a former Nigerian Head of State openly defend a bunch of cowardly, uncouth and barbaric jihadists that have bombed and burnt alive the weak, the vulnerable and the elderly in our country and that have slaughtered our soldiers, policemen and intelligence agents at will and with such callousness and glee. Never before have I seen a former Nigerian Head of State openly canvass restraint and mercy for a bunch of bloodthirsty, cold-blooded mass murderers and criminals that have turned our country into a pariah nation, that has made the north the home of the most callous, ruthless, hateful, vile and evil terrorist organisation in the world and that has transformed our nation into a horrendous haven for ruthless islamic fundamentalists and bloodthirsty islamist militias. If the truth must be told the only thing that is worse than Boko Haram are those in the Nigerian political class that secretly support and covertly assist them. A Buhari Presidency would be a disaster for our country, a danger to the christian community and clear evidence of the final victory and triumph of Boko Haram and the jihadists over the Nigerian state. It would also represent the end of Nigeria as one nation

China dynamites mountain tops for Hechi airport in the sky Unable to find anywhere flat to build an airport, the Chinese mountain city of Hechi dynamited the tops of 65 mountains When it opens at the end of August, pilots will be faced with one of the most nail-biting landings in the world. A new £85 million airport in the city of Hechi, in the mountains of Guangxi in south west China, has been built at 2,200ft above sea level, on the top of 65 mountains. "We sent men up with explosives who dug holes and blew up the tops of the mountains. It was the only way to flatten them. Then we filled in the valleys between the mountains," said Wei Yuanzhe, a spokesman for the company managing the airport. With a runway only 1.3 miles long and 150ft wide, and with a 1,000ft sheer drop on one side, arriving at Hechi will be "like landing on an aircraft carrier", according to the city's mayor. "We started planning the airport in 2001 and it took us a long time to work out whether it was feasible," said Mr Wei. "Actually we looked at a lot of other locations, but we decided in the end that this was the easiest one." He added that there had been no accidents during five years of construction and safety testing. When it opens, Hechi will be a transit stop on the route from Chongqing, in central China, to Haikou in the south. Until it closed in 1998, pilots landing at Kai Tek airport in Hong Kong had to steer between the city's skyscrapers and then land on a runway jutting out into Victoria harbour. China also boasts the world's highest altitude civilian airport, the Daoching Yading airport in Garzi, Sichuan, which sits at 14,472ft above sea level. Meanwhile the Tenzing-Hillary airport in Nepal, a runway 9,200ft-high in the Himalayas, is used by climbers wishing to reach Everest base camp. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/10962081/China-dynamites-mountain-tops-for-Hechi-airport-in-the-sky.html

EU President pleased with ECOWAS’ decision on EPA Source: Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Isaac Essel | isaac.essel@myjoyonline.com Date: 11-07-2014 Time: 03:07:27:pm President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso has welcomed decision by the 16 ECOWAS heads of state to sign the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union. In a statement issued today in Brussel he said he was pleased with the decision, noting that it will pave way for the partnership to come to reality. "I am a firm believer in expanding our cooperation with Africa, a thriving continent full of opportunities. A partnership of equals with Africa has been one of my key priorities", José Manuel Barroso said. "I am therefore more than pleased to see the Economic Partnership Agreement with West Africa now set to become a reality. This agreement, with a strong development component at its heart, will pave the way for sustainable economic growth in West Africa, generating jobs and well-being for our citizens." The EU Trade Commissioner De Gucht added, "We are building a privileged economic partnership with West Africa that will be a foundation of long-term growth and future prosperity in a region that is so close to Europe. To help the EPA deliver its promise for development, the EU and West Africa need to implement this deal as soon as possible." The statement acknowledged that the agreement fully takes into account the differences in the level of development between the two regions. The EU will provide West African firms with conditions that are more advantageous than those that apply to European exports to Africa. “In the negotiations, the EU committed itself to open its market to all West African products as soon as the agreement enters into force. In exchange, the EU accepted a partial and gradual opening of the West African market. Only if and when West Africa will be ready to grant more far-reaching concessions to the Europe's main competitors, will the EU be able to claim those same improvements,” the statement noted. It said under the terms of the agreement, West African countries will be able to shield its sensitive agricultural products from European competition either by keeping tariffs in place or, when necessary, by imposing safeguard measures. It added that to support local agricultural production, the EU has also agreed not to subsidise any of its agricultural exports to West Africa. “West African companies will also have more flexibility to use foreign components while still benefitting from free access to the EU market. “The EU will complement the market opening effort of the West African partners with a generous development assistance package. On 17 March, the EU Foreign Affairs Council confirmed EU support of at least €6.5 billion for West Africa during 2015-2020. The Economic Partnership Agreement Development Programme (PAPED) will play a crucial role in ensuring the EPA promotes trade and attracts investment to West African countries. This will contribute to development, sustainable growth and reducing poverty.” The statement noted that the agreement would now be presented to the political decision makers, both in the ECOWAS and the EU, for signature and ratification. Background The Economic Partnership Agreement involves the EU and its member states, 16 West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo), the Economic Community of West African states (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). The EPA establishes a partnership based on common objectives, asymmetrical obligations – in West Africa's favour – and joint institutions including a Council, an EPA implementation committee, a Parliamentary Committee and a civil society forum. West Africa accounts for 40% of total trade between the EU and all the ACP regions. The EU supplies a large part of the equipment that contributes to the economic growth and development in the region. European annual exports are worth approximately €30 billion. West African exports towards the EU account for €42 billion. The agreement should increase this figure even more in favour of our African partners. The EU Economic Partnership Agreements, which aim to help creating a "virtuous circle" of growth, stem from the Cotonou Agreement signed in 2000 between the EU and countries of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP). The regional negotiations with West Africa started in October 2003 and were concluded in February 2014. http://www.myjoyonline.com/business/2014/July-11th/eu-president-pleased-with-ecwass-decision-on-epa.php

The jihad sisters: Bubbly and exceptionally bright, these twins with 28 GCSEs were set to train as doctors. Now they're in Syria 'training to be killers' Twins Salma and Zahra Halane left their parents’ home in middle of night They then caught a flight to Turkey, before crossing the border to Syria Sisters appeared to be typical teenagers, pouting for selfies and shopping Now they are feared to be training for battle in footsteps of elder brother Friends said the twins had appeared to be typical teenagers, pouting for selfies and shopping at Primark – but they are now feared to be training for battle. Last night a rebel fighter boasted that he was teaching girls as young as 16 how to fight. Yilmaz, a Dutch national who has been in Syria for two years, told Sky News: ‘It’s extremely easy to get here. People go on holiday ... they end up in Syria.’ The twins’ parents raised the alarm last month, after finding the girls’ beds empty and their passports and clothes missing. A former neighbour said the couple had been ‘quite strict’, and did not allow the girls to ‘mix with other children on the street’. Others recalled that the twins wore headscarves when they were as young as nine. But Rhea Headlam, who sat next to Zahra in primary school, said they were ‘just normal teenage girls’. ‘I’m really shocked – I used to bump into them at Primark,’ she added. ‘They were both really clever. Last summer Salma achieved 13 GCSEs – 11 of them at grades A* to C – while Zahra passed 15, of which 12 were A*-C. The results put them in the top 10 per cent of their year group at Whalley Range High School for Girls in Manchester. They went on to study at Connell Sixth Form College, where fellow students said they hoped to follow in the footsteps of their elder sister Hafsa, 25, who is at medical school in Denmark after graduating from Manchester University. ‘The twins both have aspirations to become doctors – that is their ambition,’ said one. Another claimed it was ‘typical’ of the girls to head to Syria ‘after they had finished term’, adding: ‘They wouldn’t want to mess up their education. ‘I’m shocked they have gone. They didn’t seem to be radical or extremist in their views. It emerged yesterday that the girls’ devoutly Muslim Somali refugee parents and their 11 children had been moved from an estate made famous by the TV series Shameless to an upmarket suburb, after telling the council they needed more bedrooms. They were given a six-bedroom end-terrace despite the protests of the existing tenant. Yesterday the large back and front gardens were strewn with discarded household items and children’s plastic toys. The house's previous resident - a 40-year-old Army heroine who served in Bosnia - said last night she had been booted out of the house by Manchester City Council so the twins and their family could move in. Former lance corporal Dawn Benjamin told The Sun she had thought the house - her childhood home - would be 'going to a good family'. She added: 'I lost my life, memories, everything I'd grown up with, to house jihadi wannabes'. Ms Benjamin and her young son had to move out after they were served with a court order. The council confirmed the house had been needed for a larger family. Neighbours said the twins’ parents were keen to share elements of Somalian culture with them, taking round dishes of traditional delicacies for them to try. The twins’ father Ibrahim is understood to teach at a nearby mosque, where leaders this week issued a statement repudiating extremism and opposing violence of all kinds. Mohammed Shafiq, of the Ramadan Foundation, said the family were moderate Muslims who know all about the dangers of war-torn countries. ‘They were desperately unhappy to discover [their son] had gone to Syria, and they thought they were keeping a watchful eye on their other children. Then this happens,’ he said. Sources believe Salma and Zahra were inspired by their brother’s transformation into a jihadi fighter, and became radicalised themselves while viewing extremist Islamist material online. According to police sources, their brother also travelled to the family’s native Somalia, where he may have linked up with another Islamist terror group al-Shabab. A friend told The Sun the brother was known for his ability to recite long passages of the Koran. Officers are investigating how the girls funded their own trip, over fears they have been bankrolled by jihadi fighters who want them as their wives. As many as 1,500 Britons may have travelled to Syria to fight alongside rebels. Many of them have posted messages online promising to use their ‘terror skills’ if they return to Britain. Three men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences linked to Syria. A 27-year-old from Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, and a 26-year-old from Slough, Berkshire, were held on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts. Another 26-year-old man was also arrested in Slough, on suspicion of financing terrorist acts. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2686684/The-jihad-sisters-Bubbly-exceptionally-bright-twins-28-GCSEs-set-train-doctors-Now-theyre-Syria-training-killers.html

A member of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has said that they planned to capture Saudi Arabia and destroy the Kaaba, according to report in Turkish media. The report mentioned ISIS's plan to take control of the city of Arar in Saudi Arabia and begin operations there. ISIS member Abu Turab Al Mugaddasi said: "If Allah wills, we will kill those who worship stones in Mecca and destroy the Kaaba. People go to Mecca to touch the stones, not for Allah." I would like our Muslim friends to explain to us the meaning of PEACE, LOVE, TOLERANCE and COEXISTENCE. And provide verses from the Qur'an that promotes PEACE, LOVE, TOLERANCE and COEXISTENCE between Believers and Unbelievers. Because we often hear from the Muslims that Islam is ''Religion of Peace'' but if indeed that Islam is a ''Religion of Peace'' as we often hear from the Muslims, I would like Muslims to give us an example of one Muslim Country which live in Peace with their Non-Muslims Minority and offer their Non-Muslim minority equal opportunity as to the Muslims without discrimination. And allow their Non-Muslim minorities to profess their faith without fear and threats, Freedom, religious tolerance, equal right and freedom of worship or no attack the Non-Muslims places of Worship. For example there is Millions of Muslims living in the West with Western Passports, equal rights as Westerners, Freedom of Religion, participate in Western Politics, marry Western Women without being thought of changing their religion before the marriage, and have freedom to profess their faith in Public. If all the Religions meant to teach PEACE, LOVE, TOLERANCE and COEXISTENCE, There will be evidence and proof from all the Religious Scriptures that would promote peace regardless of peoples difference beliefs and Culture. I would like our Muslim friends to provide to us some verses like the Bible verses below out from their Islamic Scripture (Qur'an). John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this that someone lays down his life for his friends.” Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endure all things.” Mark 12:30-31 “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” 1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” -------------------- I would like the Muslims to provide some verses from the Qur'an which encourage the Muslims to live and respect Non-Muslims as we often heard that Those Islamic Terrorist misunderstood Islam and does not follow the teaching of Islam. In these Topic I want the Muslims to bring us Peaceful verses from their Qur'an which would indeed proof that Those Islamic Terrorists have misunderstood Islam and do not represent Islam as Muslims claim. It's time to stop believing that Islam is a Religion of Peace without any Peaceful verses from the Qur'an to support Muslims claim about their Faith. I would like Our Muslim friends to read very carefully before commenting according to what thi topic is all about. |
gr8david: may God help us to be watchful and make heavenThat's our daily prayer. |
Matthew 24:3 ''As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 4 ''And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one MISLEADS YOU. 5"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. 6"You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8"But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pang. 1. False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-3) 2. Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3) 3. Earthquakes would be in diverse places (Matthew 24:7) 4. Stress would be part of living (2 Timothy 3:1) 5. Many wars would erupt (Matthew 24:6) 6. People would forsake the Ten Commandments as a moral code, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and killing (Matthew 24:12) 7. There would be a cold religious system, in denying God's power (2 Timothy 3:5) 8. Men would substitute fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4). 9. Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). 10. The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by the scientific world because of its uncanny implication. 11. The institution of marriage would be forsaken by many (1 Timothy 4:3) 12. There would be an increase in famines (Matthew 24:7) 13. Increase in vegetarianism would increase (1 Timothy 4:3-4) 14. There would be a cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3) 15. The possession of Jerusalem would be at the center of international turmoil (Zechariah 12:3) 16. Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4) 17. There would be hypocrites within the Church (Matthew 13:25-30) 18. There would be an increase of religious cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24) 19. The future would seem fearful to many (Luke 21:26) 20. Humanity would become materialistic (2 Timothy 3: 4) 21. There would be many involved in travel (Daniel 12:4) 22. The Christian Gospel would be preached as a warning to all nations (Matthew 24:14) 23. Jesus said Christians would be hated "for His name's sake" (Matthew 24:9) 24: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26). 25: Youth would become rebellious. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (2 Timothy 3:2) 26: Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, "for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:4). The Bible even reveals their motivation, they love lust (verse 3). They fail to understand that a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to us. God is not subject to the time that He created. He can flick through time as we flick through the pages of a history book. The reason He seems to be silent, is because He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance |
