afrodoc2: If all 3 are in excellent form we stick 1 of them on the bench. That is how it has always been. Whatever formation benefits the ENTIRE TEAM is what should be used, not switching formation to make the 3rd choice CB happy. Whether it is 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-4-3, or 3-5-2 what matters is that it works for the entire team not to keep 1 player happy. I wouldn't like to use the term "to make the 3rd choice CB happy" I'd rather say "to maximum the team's strength" which I like to believe is the same as "whatever formation benefits the entire team" like you said we good doc |

Funlord2: Mourinho that gives no _fucks? He has man managed squads with more talent and egos than ours at the moment (inter, real madrid comes to mind) to relative success in the past...and led this disjointed team to the champions league! He has the experience! Sit back and enjoy the show! No shaking Okay oh |

afrodoc2: Unlike you I hope all our players are on excellent form next season so much so that team selection becomes a headache for Jose this is why I thought you didn't understand my post I didn't say all our players shouldn't be in excellent form, i said, assuming all three are in excellent form, what happens to Rojo? the coach's ability to make all three happy will be crucial at this stage, hence the 3-5-2 I suggested which doesn't seem like a bad formation to try out considering the fact that we are still after belotti that has been my point |

Funlord2: I could not reply you yesterday due to some other issues but you need to stop speculating and face facts! So you think a guy that loses 6 months of football would still come back and perform the way he did last season? Look Rojo tried but the essence of being at a club like man united is competition!
Mourinho always likes having 2 specialist players competing for every spot in his teams and he is not really one for 3 at the back things! By the time Rojo gets back in 2018, lindelhof may have cemented his spot next to bailly..it will be up to Rojo to prove in training that he deserves to bench one of either him or bailly! Abeg all these experimenting with positions needs to end! We have LB's and CB's so all man should fight for their right to party on the pitch and in their best positions!
Rojo is too limited attack wise to even make a Good enough LB i think Rojo played LB for Argentina in the last world cup and he did well but that is not the point "lindelof may have cemented his spot next to Bailly" let's assume this is the case.. "it will be up to Rojo to prove himself in training that he deserves to bench one of them" let's assume he proves himself Bailly and lindelof in superb form, Rojo too in superb form, these are assumptions, so how does he bench one of the two? when all three are in superb form now this becomes a dilemma for the coach and this is where his man management skill will come into play, no player in superb form will be happy to sit on the bench, not forgetting the fact that Rojo is not getting any younger, I want to believe there was a time last season when we looked at the line up and saw Rojo's name and became relaxed and confident, but then again, that is not the point now my question is, what happens to Rojo when Bailly and lindelof becomes indispensable? I don't want another Keane and pogba situation on our hands, that is all I'm saying, if mourinho can make them all happy, no wahala |

afrodoc2: Is this Rojo united or Man Utd? If he wants guaranteed shirt he can go to Okomu oil fc. I don't even understand u. Are u praying that we have only 2 in form CBs at any one time so their feelings won't be hurt? If you want to win titles you better pray MOST if not ALL your main players are on form. Without 4 in form strikers the 99 treble would not have been possible. Rojo should fight for his shirt next season like every other player who does not have 2 heads. If he gets it ahead of Lindelof good, if not good still. That means we have quality coming on from the bench. What did Rojo do that Ole Gunnar and Teddy and a young Nick Butt not do 2 times over. Look at Madrid with in form players starting and on the bench. That is how it should be, not changing our entire formation because one decent Rojo is in form. IF WE WANT TO LEAVE THE MEDIOCRITY OF THE LAST FEW YEARS BEHIND WE NEED IN FORM STARTERS AND SUBSTITUTES. I honestly don't think you understood my post I would like to think that man management is essential to a club's success and I hope we won't have to sing "the one that got away" tune 2years from now |

afrodoc2: Yes. I was previously unsure about the links but i have watched a few more clips of him. He has pace, decent size, is comfortable with the ball and can pass out of defence with both feet. I saw similar attributes with Bailly before we signed him and if we have these 2 starting together it might be the beginning of a great partnership.I would offload Smalling who i have said several times is barely a footballer. Rojo as 3rd choice and Jones as 4th choice is not bad. I don't want Rojo at LB, that handicaps our attack which already has problems scoring goals. We need an attaking LB who will be a consistently creative outlet and give us much needed width when our inverted wingers drift inside. I am thinking of Danny Rose, Kurzawa or Raphael Guerreiro. The days of CBs deputizing as FBs are gone, let us banish the thought of muscle men like Bailly, Lindelof or Rojo giving us minutes at the FB positions. the thing is, Rojo cannot be in form and be 3rd choice, that would be unfair to him, what happens when the three of them are in excellent form? I am in support of chrisley's post, it's either we have Rojo at left back or we go with 3-5-2, Rojo's form cannot just be overlooked like that, he was one of our best performers last season and was a beast in that defence |

AdisaOwala: The way some of us are so quick to question the loyalty of fellow UTD fans here...all because a certain player (or even the manager) is being criticized is disgusting to say the least . I only even asked a "harmless" question for Christ's sake.
I didn't even have the intention of "Opening Pogba's can of worms" ( I coulda done that with match reports/player ratings in my response to the fella) but alas, he decided to be uncivil in his response. If I may add sef , Pogba's case has been trashed out on numerous occasions and despite the fact that my views might be contrary to what some peeps feel about him, I think we all have a common ground - which is to see the Frenchmen improve next season atleast in the interest of the club we support. would you say pogba had a "poor" first season? |

weedtaker: i'm suggesting costa bcuz of his style and physical attributes. and i can bet my left ball that if jose is giving the chance to sign one of costa or auba he would go for costa, abi no be pep the prefer jesus to aguero? syle of play na key. if so, then i see no reason why we shouldn't give martial another chance to prove himself, after all him and costa had similar seasons.
maybe he might be injury free dis coming season, but the fee he would command would be outrageous, which would only be a huge gamble for a player whom we are quite unsure of his fitness level.
if na by ruggednes make we kuku go buy lee cartamole or idrissa gueye
physically morata trumps him, not forgetting morata's hold up play which is key in jose's center forward. auba na mature rashford, just pace and finishing. I no get strength, make dem do wetin dey their mind |

bigkesh: So Mkhi,Mata,Martial and Radford....... What about them? it's crystal clear mata won't be getting enough game time next season. martial's poor form might mean he will start from the bench unless he changes his attitude and improves, then there will be no need for Costa there is no way rashford is leading our attack next season, not now when we are in champions league mkhitaryan, there are lots of matches to go round this is just my formation, mourinho's formation might be different, so different that we won't be needing one of those names I included in my formation |

weedtaker: douglas costa na bayern flop, bale's injury record is not good. and naingolan is not a DM.
jose no de gbadu strikers like auba. di maria was a flop in man united, Douglas being a flop in Bayern doesn't negate the fact that he is a very good player bale's injury crises became only obvious this season, nobody noticed it when he was firing left right and centre for Tottenham and Madrid bar this season nainggolan can play there, he is rugged enough so who mourinho dey gbadun? morata that is less agile and has less pace compared to aubameyang? |

Leyqute: He might be thinking of having Martial/Radford up front from the beginning and then having Zlats later on after his return from injury.
Then we'd have Grieamann, Mata, Mkhi, Lingerd and new signings behind them and on the wings.
If he's thinking that way, he's a big fool.
Moreover I don't think that's the case. I expect Mou to have someone else in mind to strengthen the CF position. Mou hardly uses players like Grieamann as CF. He prefers tall, strong and agile players. Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Benzima comes to mind. let's watch and see what happens |

eph12: I didn't think that is the question on ground. It's not up for debate if this is our best season post-fergie. His worry which I share is if this should repeat itself (I mean exactly how this season ended) next season, are we will still going to celebrate and claim to have a successful season? no, now we are expected to move higher, winning those trophies was a step in the right direction and I believe we have every reason to celebrate that mourinho won 3 out of 5 competitions he found himself in, how is that not success? as bizarre as it may sound, mourinho can make an excuse for finishing 6th and not winning the fa cup, believe you me, those excuses are worthy |
