BusinessIs It A Must To Experience Failure Before Success ? by dotcomnamename(op): 10:04am On Dec 27, 2012
Dear Nairalanders,

I really need to understand this!
Is it a must for one to experience failure before success?
A man called Elem said Young entrepreneurs must experience failure before success

My question now is: Is it a must to experience failure before success?
What about if someone believe in God and have the confidence that failure is not his/her porture in his/her business for whatever reason?

What do you think about this?

surecan: my friend what of the criteria for permanent residence permit,i am not even interested in naturalization
I wonder o bro, pls help me tell him that you're not asking about naturalization O!

Anyway..

Every long-term visitor coming to Germany must get a residence visa (the real term is "residence permit" or "Aufenthaltserlaubnis"

This must be applied for if you are planning on staying for more than three months.
You must obtain this residence permit (residence visa) within three months of your arrival in Germany.

For instance, if for tourist visa, your tourist visa is good for only the first three months. So, there is no way around it. The earlier you apply for the residence visa, the better are your chances to get it on time.

There are two kinds of residence visa: a limited (or temporary) residence visa, it is valid for a certain period of time and you must leave the country at the end of that time; and an unlimited (no "expiry date"wink residence visa which does not expire. People having an EU passport automatically get this last one, the unlimited residence permit. For others, with the limited residence visa, they can reapply for a new one at the end of the period.

But, before going to the Landratsamt to get your residence visa (permit) you must register at your local Registration Office (Einwohnermeldeamt, usually the city hall in small towns) where you live. You have to do this within the first 10 to 14 days after you arrive (it varies from one city to another. Call your Rathaus (City Hall) for details). The document that you will get is called Meldeschein (registration certificate), or Anmeldebestätigung (residents registration permit). It is easy to get:

You go there, bring with you your passport and a proof of your permanent address in Germany (rental contract for example) and fill out a form.

You MUST bring this Meldeschein (registration certificate) with you at the Ausländerbehörde or Landratsamt to get your residence visa (permit).

Also, if you move residence during your stay in Germany, you must register a new at the local Registration Office (Einwohnermeldeamt) and notify the old registration office of your move (even if it is next door).

There are a few documents that you must bring with you for the residence visa:

-valid passport, one per person
-two passport photos per person (taken by a professional)
-proof that you have a place to live (rental contract)
-proof that you can support yourself and your family (if applicable) financially
-proof of health insurance
-proof of marriage (if applicable)
-Meldeschein
-sometimes, birth certificates (especially for the children)

Also, be aware that most photocopies, even if they have been authenticated by a notary or a lawyer, are not acceptable. So, you must bring the originals with you.

Here's some important advice for common-law couples since you said you and your wife (i.e. that live together without being married in germany): Germany does NOT recognize you as a legal couple, even if you have been together for 20 years. Which means, that if only one of you has a job (financial resources), they will not give a residence visa to the partner, unless he/she can demonstrate that they have skills in demand in Germany and that they will find a job. Fast.
Of course, the easiest solution would be to get married!

but, getting married in Germany is not that easy. You must both have your passport, the Meldeschein, your birth certificates translated into German, and proof that you are not already married to someone else! Quite a few countries don't have that sort of certificate. The German authorities realize that, but they still want you to contact your Embassy or Consulate to obtain an official document (that you must pay for) certifying that such a certificate does not exist in your country! Frankly, if you want my advice, get married in 9ja for a fast little wedding ceremony!

Another important point is that the children follow their mother, even if both Mom's and Dad's names are on the birth certificates.
This also means that if Mommy does not get her visa, the kids have to leave with her!

Now, when you have all the paperwork together, you and your family must all go personally to apply for the residence permit. Although the process varies slightly with each individual, and from one region or city to the next, most rules are the same.

Once you arrive at the Landratsamt, there should be an information desk in the entrance hall where you ask for the Aufenthaltserlaubnis (residence permit) Büro. Once there, you will probably see a bunch of closed doors with capital letters beside or on them.

When your visa is ready, they will most probably call you and ask you to come and pick it up. But you will first be required to pay the administrative fee.

Another very important point: these German officials take themselves and their work very seriously. So, always be very polite and keep calm. It is a long and frustrating process, but it has to be done. Period. Don't mind that guy who does not know anything about Germany. Did he knows if i lived in Germany or not or must i be telling people?

Don't mind him, he's a twin brother to Illuminati... they don't have a clue about German Citizenship law, and they actually don't know the difference between STUDENT VISA, RESIDENCY LEAVE TO REMAIN, AND CITIZENSHIP BY NATURALIZATION & BY BIRTH

All they knows is means of getting the residency and thats what they're trying to point out...

it depend the kind of permit you have, have you consider checking this(§28 ABS.! satz 1nr.3 aufenthg)if your permit inccude with the § why will you have to stay 8 years to naturalization. you said German citizenship law says: A person is eligible for naturalization once they have lived legally in Germany for eight years and have permanent residence status. can you pls write down the § qoute, i want to see from wich year your are talking about,
You're not just the type i'll should ague with, cos am done with KNOW NOTHING like you and your twin brother iluminati on this page https://www.nairaland.com/676173/german-embassy-visa/31 are expert in aguement.. So, i'm not afraid.

Secondly, did ''Surecan'' tell you that his wife is a GERMAN? Some people are just funny, they will just begin dey jump into conclusion like kangaroo when dem no even confirm what they're about to conclude on.. Mtchewwwwwwwwwww

If you don't know anything about German CITIZENSHIP LAW, better you ask those who knows more than you rather than ague what you don't have a clue about ! You know i sabi talk wella...

Now listen!

German citizenship is based primarily on the principle of jus sanguinis. In other words one usually acquires German citizenship if a parent is a German citizen, irrespective of place of birth

A significant reform to the nationality law was passed by the Bundestag (the German parliament) in 1999, and came into force on 1 January 2000. The new law makes it somewhat easier for foreigners resident in Germany on a long-term basis, and especially their German-born children, to acquire German citizenship

Birth in Germany

Children born on or after 1 January 2000 to non-German parents acquire German citizenship at birth if at least one parent:
has a permanent residence permit; and
has been residing in Germany for at least eight years.

Such children will be required to apply successfully to retain German citizenship by the age of 23. Assuming the laws (very unlikely[citation needed]) are not changed prior to 2023, they will normally be required to prove they do not hold any other foreign citizenship. The only exceptions are EU citizens and citizens of countries where it is impossible to lose your citizenship, like Morocco or Iran, for example.
Parents who are citizens of European Economic Area states or Switzerland are eligible to receive permanent resident permits after five years.

Naturalisation by entitlement

An individual who fulfils all of the following criteria has an entitlement to naturalise as a German citizen:
he/she has been ordinarily resident in Germany for at least 8 years (this period can be reduced - see below)
he/she has legal capacity or a legal representative
confirms his/her present and past commitment to the free democratic constitutional system enshrined in the German Basic Law (or that he is presently committed to such principles and has departed from former support of ideas contrary to such principles)
he/she is a European Union or Swiss citizen in possession of the appropriate residence permit which permits the free movement of persons, or he/she is a non-EU/Swiss citizen who has been granted a permanent right of residence
he/she is able to support himself/herself without recourse to benefits
he/she has not been sentenced for an unlawful act and is not subject to any court order imposing a measure of reform and prevention
he/she possesses an adequate knowledge of German
possesses knowledge of the legal system, the society and living conditions in the Federal Republic of Germany
An individual who does not have legal capacity is entitled to naturalise as a German citizen merely through ordinary residence in Germany for at least 8 years - he/she does not have to fulfil the other criteria (e.g. adequate command of the German language and ability to be self-supporting without recourse to benefits).
Applicants for naturalisation are normally expected to prove they have renounced their existing nationality, or will lose this automatically upon naturalisation. An exception applies to those unable to give up their nationality easily (such as refugees). A further exception applies to citizens of Switzerland and the European Union member states.
An individual who is entitled to naturalise as a German citizen can also apply for his/her spouse and minor children to be naturalised at the same time (his/her spouse and minor children need not have ordinarily resided in Germany for at least 8 years).
Exceptions to the normal residence requirements include:
persons who have completed an integration course may have the residence requirement reduced to 7 years
If a person shows that he/she is especially well integrated and has a higher level of command of the German language than the basic requirement for the German citizenship may have the residence requirement reduced to 6 years
The spouse of a German citizen may be naturalised after 3 years of continual residency in Germany. The marriage must have persisted for at least 2 years.
refugees and stateless persons may be able to apply after 6 years of continual residency
former German citizens

The spouse of a German citizen may be naturalised after 3 years of continual residency in Germany. The marriage must have persisted for at least 2 years.
refugees and stateless persons may be able to apply after 6 years of continual residency
former German citizens

iluminati: You live in Ajegunle in Lagos and stop claiming Germany. Yes my information might be wrong but you dont have to claim Germany when you are not there. Please dont try to be smart.
No, you're the one living in Ajegunle under bridge.. If not, you won't come here and paste over 1 million % VERY AWFUL & WRONG INFORMATION. It's obvious you don't have a clue about German Immigration..... If you don't know about it, its better you ask rather than false building your confidence in something you don't know.

Children born in Germany to non-German parents automatically acquire German citizenship at birth, as long as one of the parents has lived in Germany for at least 8 years and has the right of permanent residence
So, even though if both the student and the baby mother are in Germany as students, they’re entitled to NOTHING.
At least, one of them must have residency status and must have lived in Germany for 8 years
RESIDENCY is different from STUDENT VISA. As a student , you are only in Germany to study and they expect you to leave Germany with you baby and the baby mother.
You are only entitled to your baby’s German Birth certificate. That’s all..
German citizenship law says: A person is eligible for naturalization once they have lived legally in Germany for eight years and have permanent residence status.
The most common ground for citizenship is on the basis of 8 years legal residence in Germany and possession of a settlement permit or valid residence permit.

So, stop saying what you don't know, and stop accusing stchrischu wrongly

surecan: Wow,good job, thank you so much,at least the matter of tuition now is over, lets come to visa and part time jobs and Post graduation work permit.
1.Can embassy allow part payment of the tuition fee, because i saw in their website that student will provide evidence of full payment.
2.After payment of full tuition fee,how much do you think that suppose to be in my account for visa application.
3.can one get a part time job and how easy to get such since i heard that most EU guys flooded the area.
4.how many years do they grant for Post graduate work permit.
5.must we pay for accommodation before visa application.
Thank you once more.
1. Clearly the Irish Embassy stated on their website that student must provide evidence of full payment, however the same Irish Embassy stated on their website that: You must have proof that fees have been paid to the college. they expect you to pay at least €6,000 Euro for the first year before you can be issued visa, THE SAME EMBASSY STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE AGAIN THAT: Where your fees are below €6,000, the full amount of the fees must be paid in advance, and the student must have access to €3,000 at first registration.

The estimated cost of living in Ireland for a student for one academic year is 7 000 Euro, i mean for each year of your course, so that means if your course is €7,000 or €4,000 per year, and if your course is 3 years or 4 years, you will then multiply €7,000 or €4,000 by 3 years or 4 years, the total is what you will add with your accommodation fee, and the total of everything is what they expect in your sponsor's account. For instance:

Your course is 3 years. Your course fee per year is €4,000. Your accommodation per year is €1,200. That is €4000+€4000+€4000 + €1,200+€1,200+€1,200 = €15,600 Euro for 3 years course. You will then convert the €15,600 Euro.
Remember that the estimated cost of living expected from you in Ireland as an International student is €7,000 Euro, so you will then multiply €7,000 Euro by 3 to make total of €21,000 Euro.

So, you will then add your €15,600 Euro plus €21,000 Euro, making all total of €36,600 Euro. And remember that at least you will want to have some money as pocket money stuffs like that, so i would advice you to make it like €40,000 Euro or even €50,000 Euro.
So, you will then convert €50,000 Euro to Naira, which would be around N10,380,550.00 Naira , so at least, over 30 Million Naira in your sponsor's account is ok to sponsor you for 3 years course in Ireland, if possible more than that, remember that you must provide evidence of his income where he earn such money such as your sponsor's company registration certificate, and tax and please don't just use sponsor's company account. Its better you use your sponsor's both personal account and company together. Its better to avoid giving them doubt, and makes rue you provide your own personal account too.

Don't forget that it is an advantage for you if you can get a letter from any company promise they would employ you if you after your study in Ireland.
Make sure you also prepare a well carefully drafted STATEMENT OF PURPOSE how your course is important to you and how it would benefit NIGERIA, and state why you choose to study in Ireland.

If you have a property in Nigeria like a plot of Ireland, its a plus for you, but not compulsory...
Get a letter of support from either your parent or pastors if you're Christian or chief imam if you're Muslim, that is if its not your parent sponsoring you, you can get it from your parent...

Get a Police Criminal Clearance certificate
Introduction letters & character reference would be okay too like 2 or 3 from very important matured well responsible people

They expect you to pay at least 6,000 Euro for the first year before you can be issued visa, THE SAME EMBASSY STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE AGAIN THAT: Where your fees are below €6,000, the full amount of the fees must be paid in advance, and the student must have access to €3,000 at first registration.

What i mean few days ago by you can pay part of the fees means you do not have to pay the whole 3 years course fee, what i mean is you can pay for the first year, so deposit from the first year fee is not allowed.. If your first year is €7,000, you must pay the €7,000.. I hope you get my point.
Although there are many schools in Ireland where their course fee can be just 4,000 Euro, but such course will never be masters.
If you need course that would not be more than €4,000 Euro for international student, i can try get that for you, but such course will never be Masters course. it can be ordinary certificate or diploma, but i'm not sure for graduate diploma unless i confirm that, and or maybe professional course.

As per Part Time Job, i won't deceive you, don't even think about job as soon as you arrive in Ireland... Even the Irish are still looking for job... that would take sometime.... haven't you heard of the RECESSION slogan? Its everywhere even in GErmany...
For POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT information, the answer is here http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP11000076

Yes you must pay for the first year accommodation, alternatively if you have any relative here in Ireland, he/she can provide documentary evidence that he/she would be responsible for your accommodation for specific years or throughout the duration of your course of study..

PLEASE NOTE:

Don't get me wrong O!, there are many schools in Ireland that will offer you admission with just €3,000 Euro even bellow that sef, and you will get your visa, but the €3,000 must be paid in full, and the course will never be a masters course, some may not even be a degree course. It can be ordinary certificate course or professional course...

For instance, take a look at the attached admission offer for a Nigerian guy and was granted Irish Visa to study in that school, this guy is a younger brother to a friend of mine, that is he prepared himself and provided the required documents plus accommodation and fees by the Embassy and the school, and the embassy gave him visa... and it is not a degree or masters course... So, it depends..

If you need any help, let me know, or Justwise and Vicjustice as per they know better

Goodluck

surecan: yes i have tried Canada it didn't work so that is y i choose to go with Germany since 8k euro blocked account will guarantee us visa, then i wish to join my wife later not now,and i will like to go as a student. What of a situation that she apply visa from Germany after arrival for study,is it possible. And again,if both of are student,at least after graduation,we will stay to get job nah or will they tell us to go because we have child
Is your wife already in Germany? If your wife already in Germany on a student visa or had earlier got her German student visa, off-course you can obtain your student visa too and join her in Germany. There is no German law that says couple as students cannot live in Germany and had their baby there in Germany. But i must confess that even though if you and your wife finish your study in Germany and then have baby there, it won't change your status neither your wife too. The only thing is if you and your wife are in Germany as student, with God all things are possible, because the German Immigration law that may benefit your child to be entitled to residency or citizenship before the completion of your study with your wife, however, if you finish your study with your wife and wish to continue living in Germany, the Germany Immigration authority would expect you to be employed by a company of which your immigration status will be changed to from student to Work permit. But still on the matter, Work permit is till not a residency.. So your rights in Germany with work permit can never be comparable with residency. There are certain rights for residency holder order than that of student visa and work permit. But nevertheless, there might be consideration to change your work permit to residency if only you have lived in Germany with your work permit for certain years without any criminal activity, and if Germany uses Article 8, but i'm not sure. Vicjustice and Justwise will know more about it if Germany do consider residency base on Article 8 Right to Family & life....

But, if i should advice you, i'll rather prefer Ireland because 8k euro alone Ireland will give you student visa, even the 8k alone is too much for first payment year.... And then ur wife can do exchange program from Germany or direct from 9ja and come meet you or you come meet her in Ireland. And no much stress about blocking account, interview bla bla of Germany. Nothing like that in Ireland. Ireland application is very straightforward and u will only submit your application at the VFS the same building where UK VFS is at Ground and 1 Floor, 16, Billingsway Oregun Industrial Area, Ikeja. Apply to any school of your choice in Ireland either in Dublin or any city in Ireland. Send your credentials & certs & results, pay your fees & accommodation, and you will be sent admission offer etc and visa documents .. Get ready your sponsors account & sponsorship letter and your personal accounts. Include your statement of purpose ur intention and how your course is important to use in Nigeria after your study. Get some introduction letters & even criminal clearance.... With those documents, you should get your Irish Student Visa and then start next level...

If you need assistance about admission & any contact to any school here, i'm available to help only openly here

surecan: @dotcom_na_me_na_me,what of a situation that a student give birth in Germany for non EU students, what will be the status of the child and the parents and any other benefit
Children born in Germany to non-German parents automatically acquire German citizenship at birth, as long as one of the parents has lived in Germany for at least 8 years and has the right of permanent residence
So, even though if both you and your baby mother are in Germany as a student, you’re entitled to NOTHING.
At least, one of you must have residency status and must have lived in Germany for 8 years
RESIDENCY is different from STUDENT VISA.
We use similar law here in Ireland, but the only difference is our own is a bit better than the German citizenship law, because na only 5 years u’re required live legally in Ireland with your residency before you become citizen, and not only that, must be working and pay your tax for at least good 4 years with no criminal conviction. If you had a baby here, you must have lived with your residency for at least 3 years before your baby is entitled to an Irish Passport. So there is a big different. Germany is 8 years, while Irish is 3 years. U see now, different of 5 years.
So, I will prefer Ireland instead if Germany.
Goodluck

miss-sweety86:
LOL! I didn't want to say anything about Nigerian because I've been insulted by a moderator here after I tried to explain my opinion on the U.S government. So seeing all the fuss people made about it, I don't even wanna think about writing anything about Nigerian.
You can write anything you know about Nigeria, so far it's not negative !
There is nothing wrong with NIGERIA
Nigeria is a good country with good people, so as Switzerland too...
Any significant difference? kiss

IykeD: UK and territories are the only official English-speaking countries in Europe so you have little or nothing to choose from. I stand to be corrected though.
Unless you mean European countries with English as a second language.
What about Dublin, Ireland? English speaking country too.
