The coward that was asked to provide proof after being sued for libel by Bianca and we never heard from him again on that issue.
He probably settled out of court.

A garrulous Yoruba man as usual, who would smear anybody with lies just to get even.
The bolded cast you as an hypocrite. Why didn't she sue him? You even used 'probably'. You guys are always funny. If Bianca was not Igbo, you wouldn't have made such excuse for her. Are you saying she was never fvcked before Ojukwu married her? This is a lady that had tales of infidelity hanging over her head even before her husband died.

She was widely alleged of sleeping with Uju Robert Okonkwo (a former commissioner under Peter Obi). That is even worse than sleeping with FFK in her youth.

Most of the subsidy removal protest was done predominately in South West states if we exclude the North state. Yes we had few protest in other areas but in South, the protest was more focused on Yoruba states. Some Yorubas on this website even attacked others for not joining the politically induced protest. It is safe to say yoruba protest against the subsidy removal by GEJ but yet kept quiet when Buhari did it. North had an intense hate for GEJ for both his ethnicity and religious background. What was Yorubas reasons? It was obviously not for the benefit of the country and people as Yorubas would have had the same reaction when Buhari did it too.

We cannot be sure Yorubas reaction if Buhari attempt renaming the University; we can guess based on Yorubas reaction to Buhari's act recently. You said the reason why Yorubas were in support of Buhari's act but were against GEJ's act is because Buhari made MKO scarifice as a national holiday while GEJ kept it as a regional politician. isn't June 12 still currently a regional holiday? Beside Yoruba states, which other states announced June 12 as a public holiday? Currently, June 12 is not a national holiday. It is still a regional holiday. Currently, June 12 declaration is a promise of it becoming effective next year ironically, after the election. Based on Buhari's track record to his promises, the chances of him following through with that promise is slim. We cannot guess but we can judge based on his uphold to his past promises.
You are not getting it. You even contradicted yourself in your first paragraph. The protest was not a Yoruba thing and it was not everyone that supported it. I agree with you that it had political undertone but tribalizing it is evil. ACN/APC was never strong in the SS/SE and APC influenced the protest in the SW.

Nothing stops PDP/APGA from doing similar protest in the SS/SE.

I don't want to argue June 12 with you especially if you are under 27 years. You can't understand. MKO lost in the SE and he was not too popular there. The North conspired against him and wanted to sweep the issue under the carpet. Since the North betrayed him and he wasn't popular in the SE, the fight was left mostly to the SW. Even at that, people like Shehu Sani, Agbakoba, Alfred Rewane stood by him. Anyone that makes MKO a regional politician is either ignorant or evil.

Let Buhari rescind on the national holiday if he likes but even apart from politics, renaming first generation universities like UI, Unilag and UNN is not easy to do and will never be politically expedient for any politician. You will always have students and alumni to contend with. I was a staff and I'm an alumnus of the school I know what happened internally during that time. The alumni fought far more than the politicians. They went to meet GEJ a couple of times then. A lot of things happened in the background. Mind you, many of the excos of the alunmi association are not even Yoruba. Notable among them was Sunny Kuku.

By the way, you have carefully ignored what could happen if UNN is renamed after GEJ or any other politician tomorrow.

kotv:
So a post ceremonial declaration without any type of recognition is better than a respected University named after a man Yoruba report they respect. Yet Yorubas briefed this as logical, not hatred. Okay continue decieving yourselves. The June 12 declarationis not a national holiday as of yet according to presidency. The same reason Yorubas attacked GEJ decision to change the school's name is the same reason Yorubas attacked him for removing subsidy yet kept quiet when Buhari did the same then brought it back with increase in fuel prices. We know the reasons even if Yorubas deny it.
Let's see if they rename UNN tomorrow and people will not resist it. It is fallacious to say Yoruba people protested GEJ's subsidy removal. While I agree that the protest had political undertone from APC, nobody stopped PDP from sponsoring a protest when Buhari did same.

Naming a university after MKO in the SW was a move meant to reduce the man to a regional politician. A national holiday is far better. That is my opinion.

Note my emphasis on the bolded portion.

You watched too much of NTA during his time. I have been to all parts of SW and I can't name one. Even you can't name one hence you have to say he did many roads. Name just two of them or any other project.

By the way I know we have both agreed that MKO lost in SE. At least I am 100% sure about that. If you have any contrary fact, present it. No one has ever accused Igbos of hating MKO because of that. It's not a must that we all face the same direction.

Pavarottii:
Still talking from one side of the mouth , still diminishing GEJ. Who told u the east didn't vote for abiola. Please get ur facts right. The yorubas never fought tooth and nail to install GEJ in 2011. Obasanjo was on his side and PDP was the only strong party. GEJ didn't really av any contender. Hence the formation of A PC to take him out by all means by the west in collaboration with the north. And because GEJ decided not to lick d ass of obj, he went against him also. If GEJ was truly loved he would av been to do a second tenure. Cos no president In d history of Nigerian DoD better than him in 4years.
1. Abiola lost in the SE. SE voted for Tofa.
2. Yorubas were part of the those that fought for GEJ's mandate in 2010 except you want to diminish that.
3. Yorubas voted for GEJ in 2011 and if you say it is because there was not other strong party then God is not in you.
4. Name three things GEJ did in the SW because you claim he is the best ever. We don't see things the same way.
5. It is unfortunate that you interprete the preference of one for the hatred of another. I strongly believe you are not a democrat and you have hate for the Yorubas.

I am more interested in number 4.

Which one of the award will trigger the future generation to research who MKO is and his contribution to the country, a day without any mention of his name or a school with his name.

Yorubas disagreed and rejected GEJ naming Unilag after MKO because of your people's hatred for him and any southern. Instead of this dogman excuses, you people need to start saying the truth.

There's no extra perks of anything from the Senate. The post ceremonial declaration is just that ceremonial. Since MKO was not officially given the presidency, he's not entitled to anything from the Senate and his family will not gain anything despite the ceremonial title. Yorubas need to stop decieving themselves with a ceremonial title. This entire debacle showed me Yorubas are not as smart as parade yourselves as. Just shameful

Its down to hatred & tribalism
Africa will always be Africa
Education supposed to have change our mentality but i can't see the different educated & illiterates among the youths in this country
I have advice for u change travel out of ur region for just only six months ur level of hatred & tribalism will reduced
Even from these statements, we know those who have hatred for others. Can't you people just be free-minded? This is politics and democracy. The preference for someone should not be seen as hatred for another. MKO lost in the East and our Igbo brothers voted for a Northerner in 1993 yet I have not seen anyone say that the Igbos hate Abiola. It is politics and it is democracy. We are not obliged to see things the same way.

The same Yorubas that you claim hated GEJ were at the forefront fighting for his right against the Northern powers. They even voted for him in 2011 and also rigged in his favor. However, 4 years later they felt he had not done enough for their region.Even at that, in 2015, GEJ still had around 42% of SWern votes which shows many still wanted him. GEJ also made some bad decisions such as undermining OBJ in PDP and releasing Major Al Mustapha who many Yorubas feel was a villain in MKO's saga.

On renaming Unilag after MKO, I will salute GEJ on that but it is extremely difficult to rename schools like Unilag, UNN and UI after anyone at this point. ABU was easier to rename after Ahmadu Bello because the school was still in its infancy when it was renamed. Many Yoruba graduates of OAU still do not like the idea of renaming the school after Awolowo although most like Awolowo himself. GEJ did not do proper consultations before he tried renaming the school. The students and alumni of the school did not like the idea. I don't think people will be silent if UNN is named after GEJ tomorrow.

Making June 12 a national holiday is by far more dignifying in my opinion. Also the official recognition of Abiola as the winner is soothing.

Our Eastern brothers should be more liberal in the way they see things and stop seeing things from the prism of hatred.

The same reason the north rejected Jonathan’s free education for almajiri...ethno-religious hatred and nothing more.
Just by this comment. I can predict where you are from. It only take someone filled with hate to "easily" detect hate. The Yoruba people didn't reject the renaming of Unilag; the management, student and alumni did. Renaming a young university is always easier than naming a first generation university with a history and brand like Unilag. Just imagine Oxford University being renamed. Young as unilag is relative to Oxford, the school with four other first generation Nigerian univerisities are to Nigeria what Oxford and Cambridge are to the UK.

GEJ made the wrong move. He should have done what Buhari did. If he only named June 12 a national holiday, people would still have appreciated it but I think he was scared of the North.

You need to be more liberal in your thinking. You have hate in your blood.
PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan's Honour Of Abiola Vs. Buhari's Honour by DoTheNeedful:
DabuIIIT:
Buhari have succeeded in deceiving them grin
It is sad that many of you are making June 12 issue a Yoruba thing and making it a tribal issue. MKO was not elected a governor of Western region. He was voted the President of Nigeria. The annulment of the election represented a major "wrong" in the political history of Nigeria.

Much as some people might want to argue that Buhari is taking this step for political reasons as elections are approaching, rational minded people will agree that this step is a right one in at least attempting to right a wrong of a past that can't be undone. It is a victory for democracy. It is a victory for justice. It is a victory for many young Nigerians who died for this cause between 1993-1995.

The acknowledgment of June 12 by the FG cast a reproach on IBB, Abacha, David Mark, OBJ and so on. Yes the ignorant ones will cynically ask if this move will raise up MKO and make him president. It won't but it has set the records straight. It will make every Nigerian including the unborn children from every tribe know more about MKO, June 12 and the struggles.

@topic,
Naming Unilag after MKO is not enough. That confines MKO and makes his struggle a SW struggle. It was too little. Besides, renaming a first generation university after anyone will always backfire. The alumni of such schools might not like the idea as they will feel it will affect the brand of the school. Much as Awolowo was loved in the SW, many Yoruba graduates of OAU especially those who graduated before the school was renamed strongly hated the idea of the renaming although they love Awo.
I am not too sure if the alumni and students of UNN would have loved their university to be renamed after Ojukwu or any other leader. Mind you I specifically mention UNN because it is a first generation university.

The step by Buhari is just the right thing to do.
