Real actions from elected officials?

Like seriously? You build on flood plains, government marks the houses during construction, you go bribe your way out and when nature takes it's course you say elected officials? Nigerians and shifting responsibility.

Elected officials should use scarce resources to help private estates who didn't do their due diligence before erecting properties on river paths? Nigeria has millions of problems needing urgent solutions, people who use their hard earned money to bring misery to themselves because of lack of commonsense is not one of them.

Don't you think you sound unintelligent with all you wrote above? According to you, elected officials receive bribe to allow illegal developments but somehow they should not be faulted? Year in year out the area keeps flooding and not one official deems it fit to go carry out enforcement in the area if they are blocking drain route? If the area was a drain channel, who gave approval for the estate to be developed there? Nigeria has so messed up her people that very few even understands the responsibilities of government and sadly you are not amongst that few.
