Psquare and Tony Tetuila were nominees at the last MOBO (Music of Black origin) awards in London in 2006.http://rap.about.com/od/awards/a/2006MOBOAwards.htm and 2 face won that MTV africa award didn't he? that's a step in the right direction for international recognition for others as well. |
thanks for the reply. I thought it was too good to be true, and I assume if they do start providing mortgages here for nigerian properties the interest rates would be astronomical. |
Hi, does anyone know anything about these property developments-stonegate flats, bellvue and coral garden estates. They apparently arrange mortgages with Uk banks for nigerians living abroad. |
sounds like a good idea especially for stocks and shares novices like me. I've been getting some helpful info from various threads. |
nice one! very very useful thread. thank you |
my phone was stolen at my mother's funeral in 2004, sad really as i thought only family and 'wellwishers' were present! anyway that taught me to stop crying and hold my bag TIGHT! |
same dilemna was posted a few weeks ago.some of the replies might help https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-22361.0.html |
analytical, you misunderstand me. i know your children can never be SS but if you are not AA,then they can be AS (the carrier of an S gene) and at risk of having an SS (obviously only if they marry an AS) but if you are AA just like your wife that possibility is nil i am not questioning your faith in God .I just wondered , being an AC woman married to an AA man and with 2 children. abeg don't vex oh (and yes! AC not AS-not a typo error)! |
Analytical:analytical,I was just wondering, are you still going to get checked?because if you are AS or AC your children can still be carriers.but if you are AA there is no risk of them being carriers and worrying about it in the future.or have you decided to leave it and get them checked when they are older |
no it doesn't increase her chances. but she'll get my support (at least on line) |
abeg don't mind all this people and the hype about gallas.the guy probably did say it(and is being quoted out of context) but have they not heard of SHAKARA!! someone should play Fela for them. then they will understand. |
yes oh! the body is in the millenium but the mind still stuck in the 80's(at least when it comes to music) |
thought it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!! Till i had my kids.i tried the 'posh' boots suction device which was completely USELESS. In the end it was 'suck and spit' alternating with normal saline nose drops(buy it from the pharmacy), watching your baby struggling to breathe because of a blocked nose is not funny at all!!!!didn't need to do it after they were about 6 months. |
thank goodness! I am not ALONE.I was starting to feel ancient reading some of the topics. ![]() |
boy or girl, we didn't care,, .the 1st baby came out before we could get used to the idea of being pregnant(very premature) we didn't care about the sex,we just prayed for a healthy baby and thank God he is. as you can imagine the level of anxiety was high in the 2nd pregnancy again no thoughts about the sex, just prayed hard for another healthy baby and lo and behold! a healthy full term girl!!! now with 1 of each,we couldn't ask for more.and definetly don't prefer 1 to the other, they both have the ability to send our BP sky high , |
Tenten, catcher, police and thief before school started(used to get to school by 7 am) my nicely ironed beige uniform was always brown by the time we went into class. walking home from school with my sister in the rain or sun, singing, skipping, laughing with no worries in the world, no mortgage, loan repayment, income tax council tax, credit card bill, childcare fees, car loan, ![]() oh yes! and i loved watching village headmaster on sunday evening, couldn't wait to gist about it in school the next day Xmas in my hometown,my village cousins had lots of fabu stories (made up stories ) to scare us , we used to sit outside myGran'shouse at night on the mats ( having tales by moonlight )i hope i give my kids lovely memories to cherish when they are older |
I just had a glimpse at the age range in the over 20's posting. is there no one over 30 in this forum.i'd better find my square root if that's the case. |
oh yes!! gem87 it does ![]() did she really go to QC?before i give her my undying support (i haven't even seen her pic) ![]() oh dear! i'm bored again tonite.writing crap! |
i believe forces exist in this world that can not be completely explained by science.vomiting a live bird seems a bit farfetched though(is this posting real or just to get people writing?) i also believe a lot of us naijas give too much credit 'to the evil spirit'. some people feel every misfortune that befalls them is always the work of the devil not due to their own poor preparation or judgement.they are quick to blame the wicked step mum/housegirl etc I am a Christain and though i can't quote bible verses like some do.There is a sentence in the Lord's prayer that supports the existence of evil,so i wouldn't deny its existence. , 'and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil', Amen |
it's wrong for a man to hit a woman.and men that think this is the solution to any disagreement with their women don't deserve to be called men. but on the other hand, it also takes a very strong character to walk away from some crazy women. some can drive an angel to commit murder! i know one,she spits venom when she's angry.says anything and will fly at anybody, really really terrible. needs to be flogged! , and my man has never hit me and i will never hit or insult him.there are calm ways to settle any disagreement. this life is too short for unnecessary agro! |
grew up listening to bob marley curtesy of my older brother.can't understand half of what he says but i love the rythym |
kintayo, read the whole thread.cassidy and his girlfriend have made a decision |
is this real or a joke!!!! |
the best decisions are made when you have all the facts.i'm glad you have decided on what to do.Good luck to both of you.I'm sure you will find the right people for yourselves.just be patient and don't rush into anything. |
true talk Balogun! maybe we should talk to the drug companies. ![]() |
this is a very difficult situation and i empathise with you.sickle cell disease is a very serious condition.the chances of you and your partner having an SS child as you rightly said is 25%.but there is no way of predicting if you will have all SS/AA/AS. or 1 or 2 .In my opinion your options are: - to go your seperate ways and avoid this dilemna. -get married have babies and pray for the best -if you go ahead and have babies, get them screened early and get the best medical care and advice you can ,to keep them as symptom free as possible if they have SS. -I know many SS sufferers, some in excellent condition most are not so furtunate-one can not predict how it will turn out. -here in the uk a pregnant woman can have the unborn child tested for sickle cell and if it is positive ,the couple can be offered therapeutic abortion in early pregnancy( i know this may sound unacceptable to most especially on religious grounds) but some people who have suffered SS disease with friends or relatives, would rather do this than have a child suffer with SS. i'm not sure where you are located but talk to your dr if you want to explore this option. - PLEASE every black person needs to know their genotype before they get into a serious relationship to try an avoid these sort of situations. I hope you make the best decision for yourself and your partner. |
sounds like there's a mix up there is flixonase nasal spray for chronic catarrh. fluoxetine tabs is for depression-it's the generic name for prozac and there is flixotide inhaler for asthma. |
