feelgood:

Interesting posts, but since it is obvious the thread is for ladies in the house,
gotta keep my comments to myself. smiley smiley smiley

Tunmininu, you sure sound like a married woman - are you?
Sure would be cool to hear the opinion of (other) married women in the house.

I am married and i would walk if this happened. for a man to do this to a woman he is married to, he is trying to tell her he does not want her anymore.

this is not just an affair.it was regular unprotected sex with a prostitute. I would like to hear what the men would expect their wives to do if they stooped low enough to commit such behaviour.

Family / Re: If Your Husband Has A Child Out Of Wedlock by doubletree(f): 6:29pm On Feb 06, 2007
a prostitute with a conscience.I'm surprised she kept the pregnancy and missed out on her regular pay.

it would be hard to accept the child as one of your own

personally I wouldn't. If a man cheated on me not once or twice and also put me at risk of STDs, it means he doesn't want me anymore and I would leave(and take him to the cleaners)what rubbish! angry

He can decide what to do with the child.
Business / Re: Buying A House On Mortgage In Lagos, Nigeria by doubletree(f): 9:50pm On Feb 05, 2007
londoncool, what was the interest rate from intercontinental bank?
Family / Re: Housewife or Working Woman? by doubletree(f): 2:35pm On Feb 04, 2007
I propose the status-full time woman. smiley house wife for 4 days and 9-5 for 3 days

get a good degree and have a flexible career or run your own business.

( 3 days pay can be more than some full timers salary, hence the need for a good degree.)

sense of fulfillment as lots of time for the family.still exhausting though.
Family / Re: Why Do Women Like Shopping? by doubletree(f): 2:25pm On Feb 04, 2007
retail therapy, wonderful feeling

till the bills arrive of course! but what the heck ,we like looking good and as long as we don't break the bank,I'd say keep on shopping.
Family / Re: Sleeping With Another Man's Wife. Good or bad? by doubletree(f): 9:34pm On Feb 03, 2007

Family / Re: I Lost My Dad by doubletree(f): 9:26pm On Feb 03, 2007
The pain, shock anger, disbelief changes with time,it becomes more  bearable.

Take heart in knowing he is in a better place. We all have to die one day but it is still very painful for the ones left behind to bear.

With time you will be able to think about him and smile and laugh(not cry as you do when it has just happened) and take joy from memories of the time you had with him
There will still be times when you miss him a lot.

His memory will always be alive in your heart.
May his Soul rest in Peace.Amen.

TV/Movies / Re: Celebrity Big Brother: Jade And Shilpa? by doubletree(f): 12:01am On Feb 02, 2007
leave these indians and their caste system angry

why? it's racism isn't it?
and that seems to be the topic of the day,at least till channel 4 or the sun give us something else to talk about smiley

Her PR person is good, they know if she mentions that she was racially abused the tables will turn pretty quickly
TV/Movies / Re: Celebrity Big Brother: Jade And Shilpa? by doubletree(f): 11:50pm On Feb 01, 2007
Shilpa handled herself well and keeps saying she doesn't think Jade was racist.

But she would do that wouldn't she? coming from a country where the dark skinned are treated as 2nd class just because of the colour of their skin.

She would dare not say anyone was racist to her after dressing up like a 'golliwog' on her own TV show and ridiculing dark skinned Indians.

The Indians were upset because she is a high caste Hindu.
As for the british public,I would love to believe the outcry would be the same if Shilpa was black.

Jade, Danielle  and Jo-waste of space!

nice!

I like 'your happiness is my happiness'

when you find someone who truly wants your happiness and vice versa, you are on the way to a fulfilling relationship.
Family / Re: Is Marriage Not Boring? by doubletree(f): 11:28am On Jan 28, 2007
Orikinla,your requirements are quite straightforward,

I'm sure there is an intelligent woman with an interesting job, intellectual mind who is good in bed and also cooks and cleans and laughs at your jokes, somewhere out there.I know a few but all happily married and not bored!

although i must say some of those qualities became more apparent with time.so my brother, my advice is be patient and just keep looking, you will find her smiley

apologies for digressing but what is your oriki?
Family / Re: Managing Your In-laws by doubletree(f): 9:53pm On Jan 26, 2007
Not everybody thinks it's the in-laws fault. Not being patient and tolerant on both sides I feel is a major factor.

every situation is different. and one has to figure out what works in their own families.

believing the in laws are always the enemy or the wife always the trouble maker, will not get one very far.

Family / Re: Managing Your In-laws by doubletree(f): 7:11pm On Jan 24, 2007
show love, tolerance and patience no matter how bad you feel your in-laws are.

I'm not saying become a doormat.

Stand your ground and don't be bullied, but don't be spiteful and over defensive,
if you give fire for fire it never ends well, there will be too much anger and bitterness. and no one is happy.

The most important thing is the bond between the husband and wife. Even a person who does not like confrontations and has confrontational parents/family will realise his/her happiness lies with the spouse and children.he/she will find a way to keep the parents out.

@Seun- in laws are important because they are parents to the husband or wife,no matter how bad they are, their child has no other parents and he/she would want at least a civil relationship between the parents and the partner.

I always remember that part of the bible that tells us we gain more from showing love to does who don't love us.

It is very easy to show love to those that love you.

Health / Re: Douching With Summer's Eve by doubletree(f): 5:18pm On Jan 24, 2007
being female and from the medical point of view, douching is not really a good idea.

I googled summer's eve and it seems it's a range of feminine hygeine products.wipes, wash etc.these are meant for external use.
Fashion / Re: I'm Going To Cry At My Wedding: What Make-up Should I Use? by doubletree(f): 10:15am On Jan 24, 2007
Tears of joy most of the time(unless you've only just realised what kind of inlaws you are getting) smiley

I love weddings.mac studio fix always works for me.I cried at mine(hubby was grinning like a cheshire cat)

and still cry at other peoples weddings -seeing 2 people who are obviously in love getting married always makes me go mushy.

Properties / Re: How To Be A Home Owner In United Kingdom by doubletree(f): 10:01pm On Jan 22, 2007
I am not in the property business but i know buy to let in the UK is a good idea if you have the capital to put down.

a lot of borrowers will ask for 15% for buy to let mortgage.some new developments eg fairview homes may offer to pay stamp duty or part of the deposit etc. a good mortgage broker may be able to get good mortgage deals from banks.

London is getting very expensive.the average property is now 350k.(on the news today).try manchester.

shared ownership with Sutherland housing in London helped us get onto the housing ladder 9yrs ago.we owned 60% of it.the down side was getting only 60% of the profit when we sold it  4yrs ago smiley but it was enough for us to buy on the open market.
Family / Re: Is Marriage Not Boring? by doubletree(f): 9:23pm On Jan 21, 2007
can be boring, frustrating, sad but also happy, fufilling and exciting. a couple grow and adapt to each other in marriage.

nothing stays the same forever,

circumstances change people,(having kids, losing ones job or having a more demanding job, death in the family etc).

Coping with these changes can make or break you.

If you find yourself unhappy in a relationship.take a step back and figure out what may be going wrong.talk and listen to your partner.

still keep your friends and go out with them.

make time for yourself and your partner- go out together or even just watching a nollywood movie together late on a sunday night(kids finally in bed) and laughing together at some of the ridiculous story lines can work wonders.
